The article is devoted to to the question of commemorating and popularizing the work of Ilya Yukhymovich Repin, an artist who gave the world hundreds of paintings written in the genre of realism. Author recreated the chronology of events and analyzed the practice of commemoration prominent countryman by Kharkiv residents and demonstrate their tourism attractiveness

    Topological properties of superconducting nanostructures

One of the pillars of the scientific method is the fact that... Oh wait, it’s a different one. One of the pillars of the technological development is the fact that if the existing design does not achieve the goal or cannot be applied in new conditions, one could propose a totally different design that may achieve the goal. The only constraints in this way being the laws of physics. This is the main message of the lecture by Richard Feynman on tiny machines. The role of different designs can also be noted on a purely theoretical level. There, changing the well-known model can have far reaching consequences on its properties and possible applications. One of the main goals in the focus of modern quantum technology is realization of a quantum computer. The appeal of this device is in the difference from the classical analogous computer, being reasonable proposals for error correction. Another aspect is that one may use topological quantum states that are robust by themselves against certain noises. There is a lot of effort in trying different approaches and designs to experimentally realize and detect these states. Two main approaches are to either realize topological compounds or combine topologically trivial compounds to effectively realize non-trivial topological properties. There have been advances in both topological and non-topological quantum computation. One of the most famous examples being the achieved quantum supremacy (or, after censorship, quantum advantage). Despite that, the technology is still far away from being used at home. Also, during the process of development of technology other things may come about on the way. Anyhow, regardless of the outcome, the way itself is always more important than the resulting point. In this thesis we discuss certain theoretical findings discovered on the way.QN/Nazarov Grou

Quantum corrections to conductivity of disordered electrons due to inelastic scattering off magnetic impurities

    No full text
We study the quantum corrections to the conductivity of the two-dimensional disordered interacting electron system in the diffusive regime due to inelastic scattering off rare magnetic impurities. We focus on the case of very different g factors for electrons and magnetic impurities. Within the Born approximation for the inelastic scattering off magnetic impurities we find additional temperature-dependent corrections to the conductivity of the Altshuler-Aronov type. Our results demonstrate that the low-temperature transport in interacting disordered electron systems with rare magnetic impurities is more interesting than it was commonly believed on the basis of treatment of magnetic impurity spins as classical ones.QN/Nazarov Grou

Weyl points in multiterminal hybrid superconductor-semiconductor nanowire devices

    No full text
The technology of superconductor-semiconductor nanowire devices has matured in recent years. This makes it feasible to make more complex and sophisticated devices. We investigate multiterminal superconductor-semiconductor wires to access the feasibility of another topological phenomenon: Weyl singularities in their spectrum. We have found an abundance of Weyl singularities for devices with an intermediate size of the electrodes. We describe their properties and the ways the singularities emerge and disappear upon variation of the setup parameters.QN/Nazarov Grou

ART PSYCHOLOGY: A SYMBOLYC PAINTING ANALYSIS

    No full text
Painter at all times had interest in that, how an audience perceive their works. This problem touches the questions of aesthetics not only. The picture can not speak the words. But the color, objects and their position in space can convey the meaning of what is consciously or unconsciously, the author wanted to say. There is a method of knowledge the meanings of art. This is a symbolic analysis. We applied this method to the analysis of paintings by Russian artist Repin. Analysis of space objects and the colors of numerous works of the author allowed, as we think, to decipher the true meaning of the work of the author

The Autobiographical Recollections of Hryhoryi Svitlytsky

Hryhoriy Svitlytsky (1872–1948) is a famous Ukrainian artist, teacher and musician. In the history of the Ukrainian Fine Arts he is known as an author of lyric landscape. His painting is inspired by musical impressions as music influenced all his creative works. The author offers a complete text of Svitlytsky’s memories named Colours and Sounds, Sounds and Colours. Svitlytsky recollects his studying at Murashko’s drawing school, meeting outstanding artists at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, notably M. Vrubel, I. Repin, A. Kuindzhi, O. Benua, М. Khuznetsov, P. Chystyakov

Braiding and All Quantum Operations with Majorana Modes in 1D

    No full text
We propose a scheme to perform braiding and all other unitary operations with Majorana modes in one dimension that, in contrast to previous proposals, is solely based on resonant manipulation involving the first excited state extended over the modes. The detection of the population of the excited state also enables initialization and read-out. We provide an elaborated illustration of the scheme with a concrete device.QN/Nazarov Grou

Художнє осмислення українського культурного пантеону в драматургії Валерія Герасимчука

The article is devoted to revealing the motive complex of the cycle Plays about the Great. Valeriy Herasymchuk works using different strategies of biographical drama, which he thus considers as a complicated and multilevel system. The course is interested in different models of modern dramatic biography, its formal and semantic components. The authors focus on the process of reformatting the Ukrainian cultural and historical canon. The personages of Andrei Sheptytskyi, the writer and screenwriter Oleksandr Dovzhenko, historian Dmytro Yavornytskyi, and the Russian writers Anton Chekhov and Illia Repin (who felt favourably toward Ukraine) all gained the attention of Valeriy Herasymchuk. Thus the playwright established a very important aim, namely using the images of Anton Chekhov and Illia Repin to return ethnical Ukrainians, who were possessed by imperial culture, back to the Ukrainian pantheon. The author reminds the Ukrainian reader/viewer that the national canon is not limited to well-known names, and encourages them to read and learn more about the past and national heroes. Wałerij Herasymczuk portretuje postaci metropolity Andrzeja Szeptyckiego, pisarza i scenarzysty Oleksandra Dowżenki, historyka Dmytra Jawornickiego, pisarza Antona Czechowa czy sympatyzującego z Ukrainą malarza Ilji Riepina. The article is devoted to revealing the motive complex of the cycle Plays about the Great.
