L'espressività religiosa nella produzione poetica e nella prosa russa contemporanea: Ol'ga Sedakova e Marija Stepanova

No full text

Structural Analysis with Visualization Elements as a Factor in the Development of the Commercial Real Estate Market

No full text
This paper presents a universal method of structural analysis of the commercial real estate market with a detailed step-by-step analysis. For example, the analysis was carried out based on commercial real estate in the city of Ekaterinburg. The method is unique in creating visual content that is a map of typical territorial zones of the city of Ekaterinburg. The analysis method also includes the classical structuring of information in the form of tables and diagrams based on real offers for the sale and lease of real estate. The authors formulated forecasts for each segment of the commercial real estate market. Based on this work, anyone can conduct a similar analysis in their city or use it as a base for creating a visualization of the territory according to the zoning given in the work. Having information structured in this way will make it easier to evaluate real estate objects by their real environment

Functional tests in children with type 1 diabetes and their correlation with hemoglobin A1c levels V.R. Abdulina, I.S. Stepanova Kazakhstan Russian Medical University, Almaty, Kazakhstan Aim: to assess correlations between ocular ultrasound (US) biometry and optical coherence tomography (OCT) and hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) in children with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Patients and Methods: 79 children were enrolled. The control group included 52 age-matched healthy children. Axial length (AL, mm) and lens thickness (LT, mm) were measured by US. Central corneal thickness (CCT) and central macular thickness (CMT) were measured by OCT (Cirrus 2000, Carl Zeiss Meditec, Germany). Correlation analysis to assess the relationship between HbA1c, US, and OCT was performed. Results: 55.7% of the participants were boys (n=44) and 44.3% were girls (n=35). Children were assigned into six groups depending on HbA1c levels. Group 1 (HbA1c <6.0%) included 8 children, group 2 (HbA1c 6.1–7.0%) 29 children, group 3 (HbA1c 7.1–8.0%) 21 children, group 4 (HbA1c 8.1–9.0%) 8 children, group 5 (HbA1c 9.1–10%) 5 children, and group 6 (HbA1c >10%) 8 children. The mean AL was 22.7±1.1 mm. The greatest AL was reported in groups 2 and 4, while the least AL was reported in groups 3 and 6. The greatest LT was reported in groups 4 and 6. In group 1, LT was similar to those in the control group. In all groups but group 2, CCT was greater than in controls. CMT demonstrated a negative correlation with HbA1c levels in the study groups. CMT was the greatest in children with T1D of 5 years’ duration. Conclusion: in children with T1D, US and OCT findings correlate with HbA1c levels and T1D duration. Ocular biometry, CCT, and CMT measurements are useful tests illustrating the level of compensation of systemic disease. Dynamic assessment of these parameters will help develop indicators of diabetic retinopathy in children with T1D. Keywords: diabetes, ultrasound, optical coherence tomography, glycated hemoglobin. New Labour 'Ethical' Foreign Policy

No full text
Abstract: The article discusses problems and contradictions associated with the attempt of the Labour Party under the leadership of Tony Blair to start a 'new era' in international relations by putting the 'ethical dimension' into the heart of their foreign policy. Indeed, having come to power and possessing great credibility among the British society, New Labour undertook a number of actions, which marked the formal break with the practices of the previous governments. Thus, they shifted the focus from the foreign trade interests to human rights considerations on the international arena, introduced innovations in the field of international aid and development of poor countries, declared the priority of so-called 'advanced' national interests. These solutions, however, have led to some ambiguous results. The author argues that, on the one hand, the Labour Party 'new' foreign policy was a tribute to the historical tradition and continuity and on the other - the spirit of the times, as other Western countries leaders claimed similar statements, and that, in fact, it contributed to the moral authority of the government in the eyes of the British society. The article contains examples proving how ambiguity and contradictoriness of certain decisions have been the conscious choice made by politicians, when declared altruistic goals actually proved to protect interests of certain business structures and direct opposite of the stated ethical principles. It is suggested that the divergence between word and deed had been initially present in the New Labour international doctrine and that the 'ethical foreign policy' can be considered as one of the tools of Realpolitik. The author concentrates on such aspects of the New Labour foreign policy as development, aid, debt relief, and arms trade, rather than on Blair’s just wars’ that are widely discussed in the Russian language historical literature and press

Local auxin biosynthesis modulates gradient-directed planar polarity in Arabidopsis

No full text
The coordination of cell polarity within the plane of a single tissue layer (planar polarity) is a crucial task during development of multicellular organisms. Mechanisms underlying establishment of planar polarity, however, differ substantially between plants and animals. In Arabidopsis thaliana, planar polarity of root-hair positioning along epidermal cells is coordinated towards maximum concentration of an auxin gradient in the root tip. This gradient has been hypothesized to be sink-driven and computational modelling suggests that auxin efflux carrier activity may be sufficient to generate the gradient in the absence of auxin biosynthesis in the root. Here, we demonstrate that the Raf-like kinase CONSTITUTIVE TRIPLE RESPONSE1 (CTR1; Refs 8, 9) acts as a concentration-dependent repressor of a biosynthesis-dependent auxin gradient that modulates planar polarity in the root tip. We analysed auxin biosynthesis and concentration gradients in a variety of root-hair-position mutants affected in CTR1 activity, auxin biosynthesis and transport. Our results reveal that planar polarity relies on influx- and efflux-carrier-mediated auxin redistribution from a local biosynthesis maximum. Thus, a local source of auxin biosynthesis contributes to gradient homeostasis during long-range coordination of cellular morphogenesis
