Incertezas da determinação de potência sonora em câmaras reverberantes pelo método direto

Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Mecânica.Uma das questões metrológicas recentemente discutida no contexto do desenvolvimento e publicação de novas normas internacionais na área de acústica é a incerteza de medição. Procedimentos para a determinação de níveis de potência sonora estão descritos na norma ISO 3741 versão 1999, International Organization for Standardization. Sendo considerada uma das normas cujos métodos são de precisão, ou seja, teoricamente produz resultados mais exatos que outras normas ISO, as normas que são consideradas como método de engenharia e de inspeção. Um dos problemas envolvendo a publicação de novas versões destas normas é a exigência, por parte dos grupos de pesquisas acústicas, da elaboração de pelo menos um apêndice tratando da questão da incerteza de medição. O qual possa dar informações e/ou procedimentos para a avaliação da incerteza envolvendo estes processos de medição. Neste trabalho foram investigados os parâmetros inerentes ao método direto de determinação de potência sonora. Destacaram-se como principais fontes de incertezas: os níveis de pressão sonora e os tempos de reverberação. Estes parâmetros foram medidos nas câmaras reverberantes do Laboratório de Vibrações e Acústica (LVA) da UFSC e do Laboratório de Ensaios Acústicos (LAENA) da Divisão de Acústica e Vibrações do INMETRO. Foram utilizadas neste trabalho experimental três câmaras reverberantes com volumes entre 145 e 197 m3, projetadas para este tipo de medição, nas quais foi testada uma fonte sonora de referência aerodinâmica modelo BK 4204. Esta última foi o padrão acústico para a comparação metrológica entre os dois laboratórios. Além de ensaios de qualificação, testes de difusividade do campo sonoro, e testes de potência sonora com outras fontes sonoras (secador de cabelo e liquidificador), para complementar as investigações e cálculos de incertezas do método. A slow bar in the dwarf irregular galaxy NGC 3741
No full textUsing the Tremaine-Weinberg method, we measure the speed of the HI bar seen in the disk of NGC 3741. NGC 3741 is an extremely gas rich galaxy with an H i disk which extends to about 8.3 times its Holmberg radius. It is also highly dark matter-dominated. Our calculated value of the pattern speed Ωp is 17.1 ± 3.4 km s−1kpc−1. We also find the ratio of the co-rotation radius to the bar semi-major axis to be (1.6 ± 0.3), indicating a slow bar. This is consistent with bar models in which dynamical friction results in a slow bar in dark matter dominated galaxies

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Variations on the Author
No full text“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
