EnThe mythical narrative of the god Pan exemplifies the dynamic nature of ancient Greek myths, conceived as living organisms in constant evolution, open to revisions and reinterpretations. In particular, the god's death and rebirth acquire, in the modern age, a symbolic significance reflecting the enduring legacy of classical culture and its models. This paper explores the transformations of the myth, tracing its development from ancient sources to its reinterpretations in twentieth-century Italian poetry, with a special focus on Pascoli and D'Annunzio

This work examines, from a systematic and comparative perspective, the phenomenon of eSports – professional video game competitions – analyzing civil, labor, and criminal law aspects, with particular attention to the protection of minors and practitioners, as well as the implications arising from the use of artificial intelligence and from personal data protection rules. On the civil-law level, the video game is qualified as a complex work of authorship within the meaning of the Copyright Law and Directive (EU) 2019/790, in which software, artistic, and narrative components coexist. The analysis addresses end-user license agreements (EULAs), the disposition of virtual assets, and competitive licenses, highlighting how the absence of a unified regulatory framework generates uncertainty regarding economic rights, intellectual property, and freedom of contract. From a labor-law perspective, the continuing fragmentation of the Italian system is evident: only certain video game disciplines fall within the scope of Legislative Decree 36/2021, while most players operate outside the recognized sports legal order. The analysis considers the recent recognition of the Italian eSports Federation (FIES) as a "meritorious association" of CONI (2024) and the most relevant legislative proposals – Bills No. 3626/2022 and No. 970/2023 – which aim to define the legal status of the eSports player, the regulation of employment relationships, and social security protections, with specific attention to the protection of minors and practitioners within academies and amateur circuits. In criminal law, the paper investigates unlawful conduct typical of the sector: cognitive doping, match-fixing, computer fraud, cheating software, skin betting, and money laundering through virtual currencies. Particular emphasis is placed on the risks of grooming and the exploitation of minors, the protection of players' mental health, and the use of artificial intelligence as a tool for monitoring and preventing fraudulent behavior, with reference to the new Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act). The work also explores the protection of personal data in the competitive and educational context of eSports, in light of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Legislative Decree 196/2003 as amended, the Digital Services Act (Reg. EU 2022/2065), and specific Italian provisions on the digital consent of minors. In conclusion, the paper identifies three fundamental lines of development for eSports law: the establishment of an autonomous legal framework capable of recognizing the specificity of the phenomenon compared to traditional sport; international harmonization of contracts and labor protections, with particular regard to minors, practitioners, and hybrid roles in the sector; the definition of techno-legal protocols and responsible artificial intelligence, aimed at preventing unlawful conduct, safeguarding personal data, and protecting the psycho-physical health of players. The approaching eSports Olympics scheduled for 2027 in Riyadh represents a moment of historical and legal transition, in which the legislator is called upon to combine technological innovation, legal certainty, and protection of the person, striking a new balance between sport, ethics, and digital society

EnThe Rocavecchia site is located on a promontory along the Adriatic coast of Salento, about 23 km south-east of Lecce. During the Middle Ages the settlement was characterized by an orthogonal urban pattern, typical of French bastides. The asped church was erected between the end of XIII and the XIV century in the center of the settlement, and shows a single aisle; the lateral rather small chapels are the result of subsequent modifications. Very close to the church and next to one of the chapels is a well, from which a large quantity of ceramic and wood remains were recovered, including the ancient bread stamp studied in this contribution. The features of the find and its preservation (due to the constant presence of ground water inside the well) offers a rare opportunity to study these kinds of wooden artefacts that survive. The wooden bread stamp, the only one known for this area, shows the formula IC XC NI KA that underlines the connection to the Byzantine rite. The discovery allows us to add new elements to the panorama of bread stamps that circulated in the Salento area which, currently, can be considered to be the territory with the highest number of these finds.

EnFishing industrialisation has now erased almost everywhere the ancient traditions; however, in Salento someone still practises artisanal fishing. Direct observation and interviews to traditional fishermen, not only allowed to record knowledge that otherwise would disappear, but it was also a stimulus for the understanding of archaeological material. Various types of traditional fishing, practised until recent times in Salento peninsula with nets, hooks, spear guns or fish traps, were analysed in depth, thanks to the analysis of the instruments used and the way they were made. At the same time, archaeological evidences linked to fishing activities were examined. The comparison between old and modern artefacts provides starting points for debates to establish the use, and therefore the real meaning of evidences, that are usually interpreted superficially or uncritically. This is the case, sometimes, of spindle whorls, that could be used both in weaving and as weights for fishing nets, or of netting needles, that could be used both in embroidering and in the manufacturing and repairing of fishing nets. A re-examination of archaeological evidences from this point of view leads to a better understanding of the role of fishing in ancient communities in Salento.

EnTopic of the text is the study of the shipping lanes, before the ancient Romans, through the Strait of Otranto, from the archaic age to the Hellenistic age, using also the recent archaeological and epigraphic data. The point of view aims to consider the many ports, landings and coastal sanctuaries along the routes, studying not the individual sub-regions, but the macroarea that includes the Gulf of Taranto, the Iapigian Promontory, Cape Palascìa, Gargano, Karaburun Peninsula, Ionian Islands and the Strait of Corfu. These single sub-regions have many affinities, so we can considering the shipping lanes, before the ancient Romans, like cabotage routes and crossing routes along a macro-region between the most southern area of the Balkan Peninsula and the Apennine Peninsula.
