Get PDFEnThe principal subject of the article is how to understand the meaning of the pronoun 'sibi' as a component of the expression «ipse (debitor) sibi solvendo videtur» applied to a debtor to whom an acceptilatio is bequeathed. Interpretations so far do not convince and are, incidentally, not in accordance with acceptilatio described by Julian. In fact, Julian's conception of acceptilatio allows a new view for the matter in question and seems to be the guide-line for Ulpian's reflections in general, whose frame of reference is the application of the lex Falcidia. No full textThe essay, grounded in phenomenology, critiques the technocratic paradigm of the smart city, whose algorithmic logic overrides lived experience and proves unsustainable on multiple levels. The Urbanocene is reinterpreted not just as a contrast to the Anthropocene, but as an onto-epistemic condition shaped by hyper-rational urbanization and non-porous architecture. Through Heidegger and Merleau-Ponty, the essay recovers the meaning of dwelling and Boden-the embodied ground of spatial experience-contrasting the smart city with Benjamin's idea of a porous, hybrid urban space. Drawing on Tim Ingold, it envisions a post-smart city marked by relational, open-ended habitability. Central to this vision is urban rewilding, promoting city-nature hybridity and new modes of cohabitation, exemplified in the urban design work of Bernardo Secchi

Feminist Responses to Anti-Abortion Attacks in Italy and Slovenia. Building Democratic Innovations in Contexts of De-Democratization
Get PDFThis paper examines contemporary feminist movements’ repertoires of action in Italy and Slovenia in response to informal challenges to abortion rights amidst the rise of anti-gender mobilizations and processes of de-democratization. While legal frameworks protecting abortion remain intact in both countries, informal barriers, forms of boycott and hijack of existing laws, such as misinformation, conscientious objection, and judgmental discourses undermine access to reproductive rights. Through qualitative analysis of interviews with feminist activists, the study identifies innovative grassroots practices – such as mapping conscientious objectors, accompaniment services, and public education campaigns – as key “democratic innovations.” These actions not only address gaps left by institutional frameworks but also promote self-determination, solidarity, and care-based peer support. By analyzing these feminist repertoires, the paper highlights how grassroot strategies counteract anti-abortion threats and stimulate democratic resilience in contexts of de-democratization. It contributes to the literature on feminist democratic innovations by expanding the understanding of how movements engage in transformative practices beyond formal political arenas to safeguard reproductive autonomy
