The Increasing of N, P, and K Nutrient in Palm Oil Under Prenursery Seedling By Application of Palm Oil Waste Compost and Endofitic Microbes
Improvement of palm oil nutrient status since at the nursery is one of the efforts to improve plant resistance to Ganoderma attacks. Compost from palm oil waste and potentially endophytic microbes could potentially increase plant nutrients, especially N, P and K. This study aims to determine the potential of oil palm waste compost and endophytic microbes in increasing N, P and K in the plant oil palm under prenursery seedling. The study was conducted in a factorial experiment with the factors tested were types of compost, type and time of endophytic microbial inoculation. Research results indicating that the levels of N, P and K plants are not affected by the main factors and factor interactions of three factors. The concentration of of N, P, K soil is influenced by the interaction effect of two factors. The empty fruit bunch compost enriched every type endophyte showed better effects than compost midrib in increasing levels of P and K nutrient in plants and plant growth The application endofitic microbe after and before Ganoderma application inreased phosphor and potassium in plant and growth plant
The Effect of Bio Liquid Fertilizer Application on The Growth and Yield of Two Varieties of Maize (Zea mays L.)
The research was conducted at the experimental field of Assessment Institute for Agricultural Technology (BPTP) Lampineung Banda Aceh. The experimental arranged in a randomized complate block design in a factorial design with three replications. Bio liquid fertilizer Ultra Gen consisted of four levels, i.e. without liquid fertilizer (P0), 0,8 liter ha-1 (P1), 1,7 liter ha-1 (P2), and 2,5 liter ha-1 (P3). Varieties consisted of two levels, i.e. Pertiwi (V1) and Local Aceh (V2). Parameters observed in this research were plant height and number of leaves aged 15, 30, and 45 days after planting, corn length with cornhusk and without cornhusk, corn diameter with cornhusk and without cornhusk, corn weight with cornhusk and without cornhusk, weight of 100 grain dry seeds, shelled seeds weight dry per plant and yield. The result showed that concentration of 0.8 liter ha-1 gives better results compared to concentrations of other bio liquid fertilizer Ultra Gen, and Local Aceh variety of maize crop is better compared to Pertiwi variet
THE CORRELATION BETWEEN DIETARY PATTERNS OF FOOD ANIMAL ORIGIN AND RISK OF BREAST CANCER IN BANDA ACEH
The research was aimed to investigate the correlationbetween food animal origin dietary patterns and breast cancer in Banda Aceh. This case-control study compared the dietary pattern of food animal origin between 45 breast cancer patients and 45 age-matched controls. Six dietary patterns were difined by food frequency questioner(FFQ): food animal origin, preserved of food animal origin, processing of food, fats andoils, vegetables and fruits patterns. Preserved of food animal origin were significantly associated with the incidence of breast cancer with an odds ratio (OR) 5.86 [95% confidence interval (CI) =1.49-21.65] respectively; p=0.013; while food animal origin, processing of food, fats and oils, vegetables and fruits dietary patterns were not associated with the incidence of breast cancer. The conclusion of the research that salt fish and keumamah play an important role of the associatio
LOSE WEIGHT AND PREVENT OBESITY BY AEROBIC GYMNASTICS
Aerobic gymnastics is a sport that is very popular in today's society, especially for those who want to lose or control body weight. But sports alone is not enough to lose weight and it must be coupled with good eating pattern settings. The problem is many of us are very difficult to control our diet and it needs to be analyzed further. This research aims to carry out an analysisof the influence of aerobic gymnastics to weight loss without diet interventions given. The subject was 15 women, aged 20-25 years old, have a normal body weight. The intervention provided in the form of gymnastic aerobics three times a week, performed for 45-minutes practice session, and each was given for 1 month. This research was a quasi experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. Weight measurement was done before and after aerobic gymnastics given. The results indicated that the aerobic gymnastics for 1 month losing 0.73% of body weight, but the decline was not statistically meaningful. This showed that aerobic gymnastics for 1 month for women in the age 20-25 years has started to give response, but the duration has not been enough to lose significantly of body weight. It was concluded that in order to lose or control body weight, besides takes aerobic gymnastics with the duration of up to 1 month, it has to accompany with diet arrangement. This would give effect to prevent overweight and obesit
EFFECT OF BIOCHAR RESIDUE, COMPOST, AND UREA COMBINATION ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF MAIZE (ZEA MAYS L.)
The objective of this study was to know the effect of biochar residue, compost and urea fertilization on growth and yield of maize. The research was conducted at University Farm Ie Seum Research Station, Aceh Besar district, Aceh Province, Indonesia. The experimental arranged in a randomized complate block non factorial design with four replications. There were eight treatment combinations: P1 (without biochar residue + without compost + without urea), P2 (without biochar residue + without compost + urea), P3 (without biochar residue + compost + without urea), P4 (without biochar residue + compost + urea), P5 (biochar residue + without compost + without urea), P6 (biochar residue + without compost + urea), P7 (biochar residue + compost + without urea), P8 (biochar residue + compost + urea). Based on the plant growth, biochar residue, compost, and urea fertilizer treatment did not significantly affect on plant height age of 30, 45 and 60 days after planting, leaf number aged 30, 45 and 60 days after planting, stem diameter ages 30, 45 and 60 days after planting. At the P7 treatment (biochar residue + compost + without urea) gave the best value but does not differ significantly with all treatments tested. Based on plant yield, biochar residue, compost, and urea fertilizer treatment did not significantly affect on cornhusk ear length, cornhusk cob diameter, cornhusk cob weight, cob length without cornhusk, cob diameter without cornhusk, cob weight without cornhusk, and yield. At P5 treatment (biochar residue + without compost + without urea) cornhusk cobs and P7 (biochar residue + compost + without urea) cornhusk cobs and without cornhusk provide the best value but does not differ significantly with all treatments tested
Correlation Between Management of Balanced Menu and Weight Gain on Pregnant Women Trimester III in Rural Hospital Montasik 2015
The result ofnational economic Social survey indicatesthat thereis27.6% of pregnant womenwithchronic energy deficiency(KEK)who tendto havea baby with low birth weight(BBLR).Chronic energy deficiency(KEK) becomes indirect causes ofpregnant mothersdeathabout40% andanother indirect cause isanemiaabout37%.Moreover,in rural areasthere are 23%pregnant womendeal with malnutrition. The general causes of malnutrition in pregnant women is consumingfoods that are not met by the recommended nutritional requirements. Toll-Like Receptor 3-4 Expression Decrease in BALB/c Diabetic Mouse Models
In this study, we observed the effect of propolis extract on immunological function in diabetic mouse models with the aim of highlighting the dynamics of immunological status in type-2 diabetes. In this study we tested the ability of propolis to normalize homeostasis. Here we showed that propolis improve homeostasis by slightly increasing the level of TLR expression. The results of this study differ from previous findings which reported that TLR expression increased in diabetes mellitus and most treatment is intended to suppress the expression of TLR. In this study we found that TLR-3 and TLR-4 expression decreased in mouse models of STZ induced diabetes mellitus. Furthermore, we found that administration of propolis showed an increase of red blood cell precursors (TER-119) and improve the ratio of CD4:CD8 dependent manner
Mucosal Mast Cells Contribution in Intestinal Defense of Chickens (Gallus domesticus) Infected Naturally by Ascaridia galli
This study was aimed at finding out the investigation of mucosal mast cells in intestines of chicken that were naturally infected by Ascaridia galli. Amount of ten intestine of freshly slaughtered chickens (Gallus domesticus) found from local abatoir in Banda Aceh were divided into two groups containing five intestines of each. Mucosal mast cells count were done of which histologic slides were made in stained serial histological sections with Alcian blue (pH 0,3) and Safranin-O (pH 0,1) of the intestines. The result showed that the mucosal mast cells increased significantly (P 0.05) in intestines of chickens infected naturally by survival A. galli adult worms. It was concluded that the intestinal defense of chickens against parasite infection is associated with the mucosal mast cells contribution by creating an environment hostile to the establishment and survival of intestinal nematodes, A. galli
