Characterization of the future demand of internet users in Brazil: a contribution for the development of governmental politics to digital inclusion and internet access
The Internet is one of the most important sources for content and services to which the simple user has become an important collaborator. This research proposes to define models for information management to guide the commercial action of a small IT company. The focus on small companies occurs due to the high percentage of companies with this profile in the IT sector. A set of models for information management was proposed, implemented and used during the daily commercial activities. The practical experience is detailed based on the evaluation of ease, comprehension and use. Action research was chosen as a methodology for this study because there was interest and availability of the company to put into practise the new set of models that was proposed. The company reacted positively do the models that were implemented, in terms of acceptance and in terms of comprehension, ease of use and utility. The company considered that, after using the models, there were better conditions of handling the information, and, therefore, it became possible to guide the commercial action in a more dynamic way
A national academic production study about knowledge management through Haberma\u27s knowledge theory
The purpose of this study is to challenge the academic production on Knowledge Management (KM) recently published by the Brazilian academy. A total of 6,096 published articles in the Proceedings of the National Meeting of Postgraduate Management Programs, named ENANPAD, from 1997 to 2007, were compiled. Habermas\u27 knowledge theory has great relevance for the critical debate on the area of knowledge management (KM) in three types of knowledge: technical, practical and emancipatory. Through the documental research it was possible to identify the absolute predominance of the technical interest as a characteristic of the instrumental reason directed to constant prediction and control in the area of KM. Approximately 75% of these empirical studies did not address the question of power relations and knowledge nor did it address human consciousness emancipation towards a critical reflection of oppressive practices or political and ideological social approaches
Internet banking acceptance in Malaysia based on the theory of reasoned action
The theory of reasoned action originally introduced in the field of Social Psychology has been widely used to explain individuals\u27 behaviour. The theory postulates that individuals\u27 behaviour is influenced by their attitude and subjective norm. The purpose of this study was to determine factors that influence an individual\u27s intention to use a technology based on the theory of reasoned action. We used Internet banking as the target technology and Malaysian subjects as the sampling frame. A principal component analysis was used to validate the constructs and multiple regressions were used to analyze the data. As expected, the results supported the theory\u27s proposition as that an individuals\u27 behavioural intention to use Internet banking is influenced by their attitude and subjective norm. Based on the findings, theoretical and practical implications were offered
Accounting management and technology information: empirical evidence from the port authority of Valencia
Ports that have good geographical location, efficient management and value-added services have potential for international leadership, as is the case with the Valencia Port Authority, which figures prominently in the international ranking of container ports. Information systems should stimulate the curiosity of organizations, facilitate the process of participatory decision-making and enhance the ability of the organization to cope with changes in the environment. Changes occurring in the environment fully affect the organization and therefore its computer systems. Through the study of the Business Intelligence Systems at the Valencia Port Authority, we seek to reaffirm the assumptions of the various authors analyzed. In summary, we would like to highlight that for accounting information, in both financial accounting and management accounting, to add value to the strategic processes of firms, it must successfully contribute to the strategic processes of the organization, selecting those aspects of accounting management that are relevant to the strategy of the organization (Álvarez-Dardet et al., 1999). The evolution and transformation undergone by firms in recent decades, with regard to technological progress and variation in production methods, suggests the possible obsolescence of so-called conventional cost systems. These traditional systems do not take into account the impact of the production process automation and the changes occurring in the relative importance of the different components of the cost of the product. Organizations have to develop accounting information towards a strategic orientation in order to provide support for the strategic business processes, evolving the current information supply of financial accounting and incorporating the information provided by management accounting. In this way the accounting information available to organizations will support their strategic processes more efficiently.
Wimax traffic model based on time series for forecast future values of traffic
The objective of this research is to demonstrate that the time series are an excellent tool for modeling of data traffic on networks Wimax. To achieve this goal we used the Box-Jenkins method, which is described in this article. The traffic modeling Wimax through correlated models such as time series allow you to adjust much of the dynamic behavior of the data in an equation, and based on this estimate future values of traffic. This is an advantage for planning coverage, reservation-tion of resources and the realization of a more timely and efficient in an integrated manner at different levels of the hierarchy of functional data network Wimax. As a result of the investigation was a model of traffic ARIMA Order 18, which made traffic forecasts with values of root mean square error relatively small, for a period of 10 days
Social factor versus utilitarian technology: social marketing versus utilitarian market
Os autores definem este uso de um produto tecnológico com diversas integrações hedônicas como um comportamento utilitário social, onde a utilidade do produto passa a ser social (apresentação pessoal ou diversão individual).Technical service and convergence have been expanding and modifying the use of products and services in the telecommunications sector, generating new markets and expanding their demographic targets through different characteristics of usage. The article developed here presents qualitative research through the netnographic study (e.g. a new structure of qualitative evaluation is used, in which thematic discussions are gathered from websites based on key words used, afterwards passing through a codification and interpretation process in reference to researched factors) based on consumers and their behaviors concerning the iPhone which is a mobile device from Apple with many integrated features and convergence in services. This study evaluated the utilitarian and social / hedonistic factors, finding that the sector market has a new series of services, attracting new groups of users to its context, and resulting in the type of marketing becoming more and more diversified. The social factor (personal image) is highlighted as a primary factor in the selection and device usage, where the actual market and product marketing are increasingly stimulating utility as a social value. Identifying the mobile phone as a utilitarian product based on kind of service and proposed system usage, leads one to believe that the utilitarian market changes its meaning when a certain quantity of integrations are highly hedonistic in their diverse uses, as well as the hedonistic and social values. The authors define the usage of a technological product with many integrated hedonisms as useful social behavior, where the product usefulness becomes social (personal presentation or individual enjoyment)
FMEA and PMBOK applied to project risk management
This paper presents a risk management tool based on two well-known sets of concepts: FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge). After presenting an adherence analysis between the suggested model and PMBOK, we apply the proposed instrument in a real case study: an ERP implementation at the largest Brazilian mail service and logistics organization. The main results show that the proposed model was largely successful because it identified and classified risks. Furthermore, the model helped to document the strategies and action plans needed to respond to these risks
