An exploratory study of the role of Internet technologies in the field of industrial maintenance: is knowledge management the way forward?

A Manutenção Industrial foi por muito tempo a relação pobre na indústria apesar de ser indispensável tanto no processo contínuo de fabricação como na produção. A pesquisa parte da premissa de que a manutenção tem duas funções-chave que podem ser relacionadas à disciplina de administração. Estas são: a aquisição de peças sobressalente ligadas as compras; e o desenvolvimento dos técnicos, engenheiros e pessoal subcontratado que são supervisionados juntamente por gerentes de produção, compra e de recurso humano. A aproximação adotada foi de uma revisão de práticas atuais seguida por um estudo com um informante chave. Foram entrevistados os peritos em várias áreas industriais principais junto com um líder de opinião de uma Federação de Manutenção Européia para analisar até que ponto a tecnologia é provável de afetar tanto a compra de sobressalentes como a gestão da informação.This is an exploratory study of how Internet technologies are likely to have an impact on a specific industrial activity. Maintenance has long been the poor relation in industry despite being indispensable both in continuous process manufacturing and in discrete production. The research starts from the premise that maintenance has two key functions that can be related to management disciplines. These are the acquisition of spare parts, which is attached to purchasing and the deployment of technicians, engineers and subcontractor personnel which is jointly supervised by production, purchasing and human resource managers. The approach adopted was a review of current practices followed by a key informant study. Experts in several major industrial concerns were interviewed along with an opinion leader from a European maintenance federation were interviewed to analyse to what extent technology take-up is likely to affect both purchasing of spares and information management
Conditionant factors of innovativeness in consumer behavior on the Internet
Full text linkAs diversas estimativas sobre o comércio electrónico e as suas implicações, entusiasmam tanto as empresas como os consumidores. Contudo, mais importante que a quantificação do fenómeno, é a compreensão deste em si mesmo, visto a Internet poder assumir-se como uma ferramenta empresarial com repercussões positivas nos negócios que actualmente se desenvolvem, bem como um mercado potencial onde se podem realizar transacções. Neste estudo, procura-se identificar os factores mais relevantes na configuração e apresentação da oferta cujos impactos permitem desencadear uma determinada decisão de compra, bem como, verificar a relação entre o grau de entretenimento, agradabilidade/facilidade de uso e implicação /envolvimento com a informação de cada Website e a adopção de comportamentos de compra inovadores.The several discussions about the electronic commerce and their implications encourage as much the companies as the consumers. However, more important than the quantification of the phenomenon, is the understanding of itself, as the Internet can be assumed as a business tool with positive repercussions in the businesses, as well as the potential market where transactions can be realized. In this study, we tried to identify the most relevant factors in the configuration and presentation of the offer whose impacts allow to unchain a certain purchase decision, as well as, to verify the relationship among the degree of entertainment, enjoyment/user-friendliness and the implication/involvement with the information of each Website and the adoption of innovative buying behaviour

Un modelo asociativo con base tecnológica para la competitividad de PyMes: caso floricultor colombiano
Full text linkGlobalization has opened markets where technology plays a key role in the search and achievement of competitiveness. This study, based on the cluster approach, first analyzes competitiveness of Colombian PyMes using diamond of Porter point of view, centered in florist sector; second it studies areas where information technologies would have higher impact; and third proposes associative solutions, based on the pattern of ASP, in order to provide PyMes access to world class technology managerial solutions at reasonable cost, increasing their efficiency, productivity and quality.La globalización ha abierto los mercados haciendo que la tecnología desempeñe un papel clave en la búsqueda y logro de competitividad. Este estudio, basado en el enfoque de cluster, primero analiza la competitividad a la luz del diamante de Porter, de las PyMes colombianas centrándose en el sector floricultor; segundo estudia las áreas donde las tecnologías de información tendrían mayor impacto; y tercero propone soluciones asociativas, basadas en el modelo de ASP, para lograr que las PyMes tengan acceso a soluciones empresariales de clase mundial en tecnología a costo razonable, incrementado su eficiencia, productividad y calidad
