    Abstract: Improvement of elementary schools' teachers competencies through active teaching.This descriptive research wasabout improvement efforts of elementary schools' teachers competencies in science subjects. The research was conducted in elementary schools' teachers who become members of training of active teaching in science at Tuban, East Java. Instruments used were questionnaire, teaching implemention skills observation sheet, and  portopholio.  Research results showed there were good enough competencies in designing teaching, designing media teaching, designing and implementing evaluation, and also implementing teaching through lesson learn. Abstrak: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif tentang upaya peningkatan kompetensi guru SD dalam mata pelajaran IPA. Penelitian dilakukan pada guru SD peserta Pelatihan Pembelajaran IPA Aktif di Tuban - Jawa Timur. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari angket, lembar observasi kemampuan melaksanakan pembelajaran, dan portofolio. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang cukup baik dalam hal merancang pembelajaran, merancang media pembelajaran, merancang dan melaksanakan penilaian, serta mengimpelemtasikan pembelajaran melalui lesson learn

    Abstract: The purpose of this crosssectional research was to describe similiarity and   difference betwen parents,  principals, and school comitee towards perception of basic education and educational fund provider. The collected data was secondary data, i.e. 400 parents from 16 elementary schools and 24 junior high schools. The data was analyzed by  descriptive  and structural equation modelling (SEM).  Results showed: there is a positive correlation inter-reporter   towards similiarity of basic education perception and educational fund provider between  principals and school comitee;   there is a negative correlation inter-reporter   towards difference of basic education perception and educational fund provider between  principals, parents, and school comitee;  there is a positive correlation inter-reporter   towards similiarity of basic education perception and educational fund provider between  principals, parents and school comitee

    The purpose of this research was to analyse impact of free-paid schools program on APK and APM of primary and secondary schools at Tanjung Jabung Barat (Tanjabbar) district. The subjects of this research were 54 primary schools and 13 secondary schools who selected purposively from 5 subdistrict of the Tanjabbar district. Finding of the research showed that APK and APM achivement in all of the subdistricts were not fully affected by the existence of the fre-paid schools program. It implied that the program was not the only factor in detemining APK and APM achievement

    Abstract:  The purpose of this cross-sectional research design was to describe teaching outlines the class with gender perspectives in the elementary school. The location of the research was in the Bogor City with three reputable elementary schools as sample as recommended by Education cunDepartment Bogor City.  Secunder data acquired from competence scholarship research 2010 that most of respondents came from the middle upper families with high educated father and mother. It was found that learning process at school was applied in good gender perspectives' ways for both male and female students, especially at a ‘prime' elementary school there was a little indication of gender bias of teacher's behaviors. However toward students, especially teachers were more likely to punish male students more often than female students and communicate softer to female than male students.   Abstrak: Penelitian dengan disain cross-sectional ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui garis besar pembelajaran di kelas berwawasan gender di sekolah dasar. Lokasi penelitian di Kota Bogor dengan sampel tiga SD yang mempunyai reputasi baik berdasarkan rekomendasi Dinas Pendidikan Kota Bogor. Data sekunder diambil dari penelitian Hibah Kompetensi 2010. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar konsumen berasal dari keluarga menengah ke atas dengan ayah dan ibu yang berpendidikan tinggi. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa proses pembelajaran di sekolah diterapkan dalam cara-cara berperspektif gender untuk siswa laki-laki dan perempuan, khususnya pada sekolah dasar yang "fondasi", terdapat indikasi yang terbatas adanya bias gender pada perilaku guru. Namun, guru lebih cenderung untuk menghukum  siswa laki-laki ketimbang siswa perempuan dan berkomunikasi lebih halus kepada siswa perempuan ketimbang siswa laki-laki

    Abstract: This qualitative study aimed to explore issues, namely what are the materials and benefits of teaching dance art in the primary schools.The data source were selected by internal/sampling among the Malang City art teachers who organized learning the art dance in the primary schools (SD).This research used observation and interviews as instruments. The data analysis used in the research was interpretation and meaning. Results of the reseach showed the benefits of learning the dance art are as follows, (1) ability of the students'body mechanistic techniques, (2) students had a confident attitude, (3) students' ability to move systemic-structured, (4) students were able to use his mind to memorize and systematically motion to recall the sort order, (5) systematic movement influenced students' physical development consistent to their age.   Abstrak: Penelitian kualitatif ini dimaksudkan untuk menggali permasalahan, apa materi pembelajaran seni tari di sekolah dasar dan apa manfaatnya. Sumber data dipilih dengan teknik internal sampling dari para guru seni budaya di Kota Malang yang menyelenggarakan pembelajaran seni tari di sekolah dasar (SD). Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi dan wawancara dengan analisis interpertasi dan pemaknaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan manfaat pembelajaran seni tari (1) menunjukan kemampuan teknik mekanistik tubuh siswa, (2) siswa mempunyai sikap percaya diri, (3) siswa mampunyai kemampuan bergerak secara sistemik-terstruktur, (4) siswa mampu menggunakan pemikirannya secara sistematis untuk menghafal dan mengingat kembali tata urutan gerak, (5) menunjukan bahwa bergerak yang sistematik berdampak pada kesehatan fisik dan fisikis, dan (6) menunjukan siswa mempunyai perkembangan fisik yang besifat signifikan terhadap usianya

    Metode SAS merupakan gabungan beberapa metode yang dianjurkan penggunaannya dalam pembelajaran membaca permulaan di kelas rendah, sejak diberlakuan kurikulum 1975. Sebagai gabungan beberapa metode, diharapkan metode SAS berhasil baik jika dilaksanakan guru secara tepat. Kenyataan menunjukkan masih ditemukan anak kelas V SD yang belum mampu membaca dengan lancar. Pelaksanaan metode SAS cenderung mekanistik, kurang melibatkan anak secara mental. Bahan ajar yang menjadi titian berpikir analisis-sintesis suatu kalimat, berubah menjadi bahan tubian mekanis yang hanya menjadi bahan hafalan. Model yang tepat untuk bahan ajar dan bahan tubian metode SAS, yang memberikan peluang pada anak didik terlibat secara mental dalam proses analisis-sintesis kalimat dalam pembelajaran membaca permulaan.

    Abstract: Debat teaching modelin teaching Pancasila citizenship and education of sixth grade elementary schools’ students. Debat teaching model is an adaptation of open discussion models with debat conditions. The use of this model is appropriate for sixth grade elementary school students because in the implementation consistent to children’s thinking and development. The learning materials are selected and arranged into pro and contra, Students assigned become two groups. In their group, there are pro and contra groups which conduct debat about topic given. In this context, students are trained to elicitate their opinion/ thinking and to defend the opinion based on logical reasoning and it should be with responsibility. Students are not become enemy but they should learn  appreciate the difference. Reports of each groups (pro and con) give to teachers. Eventually, teachers evaluated every students about their material comprehension which includes both positions and evaluated effectiveness of students involvement in the debat.Abstrak : Pembelajaran model debat merupakan adaptasi dari model-model diskusi terbuka yang membawa pada suasana debat. Penggunaan model ini cocok digunakan di kelas 6 SD karena dalam hal penggunaan juga melihat pada tingkat perkembangan dan berpikir anak. Materi ajar dipilih dan disusun menjadi paket pro dan kontra. Siswa dibagi ke dalam dua kelompok. Di dalam kelompoknya, terdapat kubu/kelompok pro dan kontra yang melakukan perdebatan tentang topik yang ditugaskan. Dalam hal ini siswa dilatih untuk mengutarakan pendapat/pemikirannya dan bagaimana mempertahankan pendapatnya dengan alasan-alasan yang logis dan dapat dipertanggungjawabkan. Bukan berarti siswa diajak saling bermusuhan, melainkan siswa belajar tentang  menghargai adanya perbedaan. Laporan masing-masing kelompok yang menyangkut kedua posisi pro dan kontra diberikan kepada guru. Selanjutnya guru dapat mengevaluasi setiap siswa tentang penguasaan materi yang meliputi kedua posisi tersebut dan mengevaluasi seberapa efektif siswa terlibat dalam prosedur debat
