Overall, there is a significant correlation between psychological distress and academic adjustment, and there is a significant difference between psychological distress and gender. Female students had a significantly higher mean score of psychological domains than males, although psychological distress such as general anxiety and hostility occurred in the same manner. Besides, psychological distress domains have affected students’ academic adjustment in their college years as the significant (2-tailed) values showed a statistically significant correlation between these variables. For these reasons, both null hypotheses are rejected. With this, psychological distress is unexceptional towards tertiary education learners and has a negative impact on an individual and their educational setting. In order to improve learners’ academic performance, it is crucial to have more focus on the psychological wellbeing of college students

Objectives of this research is to identify the advantages and disadvantages of Critical Path Method, to identify success factor of Critical Path Method and to identify elements of Critical Path Method. The scope of this research is on manufacturing industry specifically in electronics sector located in Johor area and respondent consists of project management professionals. A total of 128 project management professionals eligible for the study with response rate of 91.43%. From those responses, 114 responses were valid for the final statistical assessment. The methodology is based on quantitative research approach. Survey has been used as an instrument for data collection while validity statistical analysis and reliability statistical analysis were used to assess collected data. Studies show the reliable advantages of Critical Path Method are assist project team to make an informed decision, delivers a systematic project scheduling, visualize scheduling risk and enhance project flexibility. Study also show reliable disadvantages of Critical Path Method are Critical Path increase when project duration shortens, Critical Path Method become more complex when scope, time and cost creep from initial project charter, Critical Path Method become ineffective to manage when cost and time are too flexible and changes too dynamic. Study also show that reliable success factor of Critical Path Method are maintain the project plan up-to- date which accessible by everyone and maintain the stakeholder updated using the right method of communication. Study show that reliable Critical Path Method elements are Critical Path analysis, float calculation, early start and early finish calculation, float determination and lastly late start and late finish calculation. Student-Teachers’ Perception of the Preparedness to Engage in Online Teaching, and Challenges They Face When Teaching Online: A Corpus Analysis of Their Reflexive Journal Entries

The Covid19 pandemic changed the way almost everything is done, including teaching. Online teaching rose to become the quintessential way mode of teaching in weeks after being in relative obscurity the two decades of its existence. Online teaching is now prominent, but research shows that we are still lacking knowledge in almost every human aspect involved in online teaching. This study focusses on student-teachers’ perceptions of their own preparedness to teach online and the challenges they face when teaching online. This is done by looking into the primary keywords or concepts the student-teachers use in their own writing. Language is our ubiquitous tool by which we look into the minds of fellow human beings. Accordingly, this study looks at a body of language (corpus) compiled from the reflective journals produced by 23 student-teachers as part of their final assessment portfolio (+700 pages, +800,000 words). These journals embody their thoughts during their practical teaching experience. The analysis is carried out using a concordancer program. By analysing this corpus, we will, (1) identify the most prominently occurring content words, and (2) the most prominently occurring words relative to the prominent keywords. The resulting semantic web will display the concepts the preoccupy the concerns of these respondents thus giving us an insight into possible areas that we need to focus on in our efforts to remedy and enhance our online teaching capabilities. Initial findings show that the most prominent word in their writing ‘students’ with technical and technology concerns falling far behind

A study on time based for visual inspectors at Western Digital Batu Kawan production line

This research is aimed to develop time-based guidelines that can help to preserve the optical health of the visual inspectors at SanDisk Storage Malaysia (a WD company). The research objectives is to identify the time patterns where defect escapees occur, to analyse relationship between time and visual acuity and also to develop time based guidelines for Visual Inspection operators. The method employed to analyse this is by analysing a set of data retrieved from the system called Defect Escapee data. This data is based on the number of drives inspected by first inspection station called VMI (Visual Manual Inspection)3 but then detected as reject in the second inspection station; FQA (Final Quality Assurance). Data analysis shows that there is a pattern between the time that had lapsed in continuous visual inspection task and the occurrences of escapee from VMI3 to FQA station. To confirm these findings two sets of controlled experiment was conducted on which the visual inspectors were given 15 minutes break after every 1 hour of inspection before they resume their visual inspection task. Another set, is where after every 1.5 hours of visual inspection task, the visual inspectors were asked to swap duties with mechanical assembly or manual related tasks before they return to their visual inspection tasks after 1.5 hours. In conclusion, there is a correlation between continuous inspection and defect detecting accuracy. The accuracy is inversely proportionate to time. The longer the time spent in continuous visual inspection, the lesser the visual inspection accuracy. This study is beneficial for organizations having visual inspection as part of their process. The research results able to give insight to the process owners to develop the most suitable work pattern for their employees stationed at Visual Inspection work cells. (Abstratct by author
