    Exposure duration of light activated composite resin is one of the factors which influenced polimerization level. Polimerization level correlated with the evidence of microleakage . the aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of Exposure Duration Of Light Activated Towards Microleakage Of Restoration Flowable Composit Resin.The samples were made o0f light activated flow able composite resin (Tetric Flow) and the exposure duration was 20 seconds , 40 seconds, 60 seconds. Each group contained of 8 samples of flowable composite resin filling of middle third buccal surface premolar teeth , immersed in methylene blue solution, cut across linguo-buccal and subsequently observed on its edge microleakage using binoculer microscope indicated with the depth of methylene blue penetration. The result showed that edge microleakage from the lowest up to the highest were 40 seconds,60 seconds, 20 seconds. Mann Whitney U statistical analysis only showed significant differences among the 20 seconds group towards 40 seconds group

    Optimum mandible growth needs sufficient nutrition like protein and mineral in a large amount. The main mineral for bone growth is calcium, wich largely contained in milk, including Etawa sheep milk that is very popular lately. The aim of this study was to observe the difference of length and width of corpus mandible of wistar rats after being administered with Etawa sheep milk during post natal period. This study was laboratory experiment, 12 baby wistars aged 21 days were divided into 2 groups, 6 wistar for control administered with standard food and breastfed their mother. Treatment group comprised of 6 baby wistarswere administered with Etawa sheep milk using sonde and also breastfed their mother. After 60 days old, they were killed and their mandibles were decapitated and cleaned from their soft tissue.It was subsequently conducted a measurement on the length and with of their corpus mandibles. The data were then tested using T-test methode. The data showed that the length and width of the corpus mandibles were increased through Etawasheep administration. T-test showed a significant difference in the length and width of the corpus mandibles between the wistars administered with standard food and the wistars administered with Etawa sheep mil

    Anchovy fish is traditional food, which is beneficial for health, one of its benefits is capability to prevent dental caries because it has active substance of fluoride Objectives: The aim of the study was to determine the sensitivity of Anchovy substrate of Stolephorus baganensis on mutans of Streptococcus mutans. Methods: Anchovy substrate of Stolephorus baganensis was examined in vitro to inhibit the bacterial growth by determining the inhibition zone (agar diffusion method), minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC).The microorganisms tested were local strains of mutans of Streptococcus mutans isolated from human harbouring species in Untung Jawa Island Indonesia labeled as: Streptococcus mutans1, Streptococcus mutans2, Streptococcus mutans3, Streptococcus mutans4, Streptococcus .mutans5, Streptococcus mutans6.The statistical analysis was done by in a descriptive. Results: The MIC value 10%/ml,average of inhibition zone 1.90 mm for Streptococcus mutans1; The MIC value 10%/ml, average of inhibition zone 2.00 mm for Streptococcus mutans2; The MIC value 10%/ml ,average of inhibition zone 2.10 mm for Streptococcus mutans3 ; The MIC value 10%/ml , average of inhibition zone 3.50 mm for Streptococcus mutans4 ;The MIC value 10%/ml, average of inhibition zone 2.60 mm for Streptococcus mutans5;The MIC value 10%/ml, average of inhibition zone 1.50 mm for Streptococcus mutans6 and their MBC value was the same with MIC. Conclusion: This study shows that Anchovy substrate of Stolephorus baganensis, has antimicrobial activity against local strains of Streptococcus mutans isolated from human harbouring specie

    Tomato sauce is product of fresh tomato cultivation becoming tomato paste conducted through some processes. Tomato sauce distributed in Jember Regency uses additional food ingredients i.e colouring agent and preservative. The use of additional food ingredient has been ruled in the decree of Health Minister of Indonesia No. 722/Menkes/Per/IX/1988. According to the decree, the use of colouring agent and preservative may not exceed than 300 ppm, while for preservative i.e Natrium Benzoat may not be more than 1000 ppm. Since the excessive use of these materials may promote toxicity for the consumers. The data resulted were subsequently confronted to the Decree of Health Minister of Indonesia No. 722/Menkes/Per/IX/1988. The result showed that 30% of samples with colouring agent more than theits limit of use, and 30% with preservative more than its limit.Colouring agent degree of tomatoe sauce exceeding its limit i.e 300 ppm may allow it stored in body and cause liver disturbance. Histophatologically, degeneration of fat, pyknotic, hyperchromatism of nucleus and citolisis of plasma. The use of preservative more than its limit in tomatoe sauce i.e 1000 ppm may raise systemic effect such as urticaria, rhinitis, or anaphylactique shock. It was concluded that sample A brand showed that its colouring agent degree did not exceed its limitwhile its preservative did. While in sample B, C, D, E, F dan J, the degree of both colouring agent and preservative did not exceed their limit. Sample H showed that the degree of its colouring agent exceeded the limit of use while its preservative did not

    Pleumorphic adenoma is adenoma of salivary gland. I'ts a mix tumor which consists of some component such as epithel, myoepithel, asnd mesenchyme. Pleomorphic adenoma is benigna tumor that grows slowly and doesn't grow at certain size. However it can be turned into malignant and become carcinoma. This tumor appears as single mass, solid, elastic, cirular, mobile and painless. Pleumorphic adenoma in major salivary gland often occur in the parotid gland, but in the minor salivary gland it often occur on the palatum and upper lip. Etiology of this tumor is not clear, but it can be caused by enviroment and genetic factor. Surgical treatment for Pleumorphic adenoma has a good prognosis.. Two Pleumorphic adenoma cases are reported in the Dr.Soebandi hospital, Jember. 53 years old female and 48 years old maleb suffering Pleumorphic adenoma on the palatum moleand palatum durum. One of the most infection diseases was found in the mouth is candidiasis caused by C albicans. TLR4 were play a pivotal role in recognition of Candida albicans.The purposed experimental : This experimental purposed to know comparation of TLR4 expression macrophage of the wistar rats were inoculated C albicans. Method : The subjects of this research are 20 male-wistar rats divided into five groups : Control Group (KO) were 10 rats that were not given treatment. Experimental Groups (KP), 10 rats that were inoculated by C albicans. After 21 days, will been kill and cut on tongue for analized by imunohistochemic. The data obtained will be analyzed using t test. The result : The result this research showed that there was not a significant different (p<0,05) to comparation of TLR4 macrophage expression of Experimental Groups 1 (KP). A significant different was found at decreasing of TLR4 between KO with KP Discused : These decreasing are assumed that C albicans infection could inhibit TLR4 activities, so the decreasing of macrophage activity caused TLR4 decreased. All of those activity causes the decreasing immune response and killed activity to C albicans. The conclusion : The fact of this research is dereasing TLR4 macrophage of wistar rat was inoculated by C albicans

    Measurement of shear bond strength is one that a material meets the eligibility requirements and testing the strength of attachment of the most common. This experimental research laboratories using 20 first premolars were divided into two groups, G1: 10 teeth are attached to the resin composite, G2: 10 teeth are attached to the glass ionomer hybrid. All of the teeth soaked in distilled water, and then stored in the incubator (37C) for 24 hours. Measurement of shear bond strength used the tool `s Digital System Torsee Universal Testing Machine. The data were analyzed using t-test. These results indicate shear bond strength of resin composite was higher when compared to glass ionomer hybrid

    Entamoeba gingivalis is one type of parasite that found in the gingival inflammation. Polymorphonuclearneutrophil (PMN) play a role at the beginning of inflammation. This study aims to determine the effect of exposure E.gingivalis to the number of PMN in Wistar male rats with gingival inflammation. The cervical of mandibular incisor ofall experimental animals was ligated with a wire to get the state of gingival inflammation and then they divided intotwo groups, namely control and treatment group. The control group was exposed to the physiological solution,whereas the treatment group were exposed to E. gingivalis for six days. Exposure performed one day after ligated.Data obtained by counting the number of PMN each group on days 4 and 7. The results show that the number ofPMN on the day of the 4th and 7th there was no significant difference between control and treatment group. Theconclusion of this study is the exposure of E. gingivalis did not affect the number of PMN in Wistar male rats withgingival inflammation

    Sisik naga (Drymoglossum piloselloides) has been used empirically for dysentry and candidiasis. This diseases were caused by bacteria and fungi. The objective of this research was to evaluate the antibacterial effect and to find out the antimicrobial compound of sisik naga. Leaf of sisik naga was extracted with ethanol 90% by using maseration. This extract were tested for antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans using agar difussion. TLC Bioautography methods was used to identify the active compound. Result of antibacterial test showedf ethanolic extract of sisik naga had antibacterial effect against S. mutans. Bioautography showed one spot on Rf =0 give clear zone
