    MOLEKULAR DOCKING DENGAN METODE MOLEGRO VIRTUAL DOCKER TURUNAN KALKON SEBAGAI ANTIMIKROBA

    We have done docking molecule on chalcones derivatives that bind to antibacterial gram-positive (Bacillus subtilis ) and negative (Escherichia coli) compared with chalcones derivatives and chloramphenicol antibiotic. Chalcone derivatives compounds have been synthesized by varying the methoxy groups in chalcone structure. The results showed that chalcone derivatives have antibacterial activity in inhibition of Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli that were better than lead compound (chalcone) and chloramphenicol. The results can be viewed from Moldock and Rerank score that has lower energy. The results differ from in vitro study in 1 - (4-Bromo-phenyl) -3 - (4-phenyl-methoxy)-2-propen-1-on and 1-(4-Bromo-phenyl)-3-(3.4-dimethoxy-phenyl)-2-propen-1-on compounds as antibacterial activity in gram-negative bacteria (E. coli) and gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis) were smaller activity than chloramphenicol. Because of derivatives chalcones was very large lipophylic value (log P>2), these will decrease the activity. In addition, if these were viewed hydrogen bonds on Molegro Virtual Docker between chalcone derivatives and binding of bacterial amino acids, ie Lys 411, Ser 299, Ser 52, and Thr 412 in Bacillus subtilis and Tyr 136 and Tyr 52 in Escherichia coli provide less harmonious interaction within complex binding than that of chloramphenicol

    Cancer was ranked first as the cause of death in all over the world. Chemopreventive sought from traditional preparations for example, various types of plant parasites. This study aims to determine the chemopreventive activity of aqueous extract of leaves of parasites jackfruit ( Macrosolen cochinchinensis ( Lour. ) van Tiegh ) on the growth of lung tumors of mice ( Mus musculus ) female strain Balb / c induced benzo [a ] pyrene . This research was conducted using the method Newborn Mice. Test animals used female mice (Mus musculus) strain BALB / c and benzo [ a] pyrene as carcinogenic compounds. Female mice were divided into 5 groups. Cancer control group were injected with B [ a] P were dissolved in dimethylsulfoxide ( DMSO ) . Solvent control group was given the same volume of DMSO in the control of cancer. The treatment group was divided into three dose groups are a dose of 250, 500, and 750 mg / kg . Extract made after female mice induced B [a] P. Chemopreventive intensity expressed as percentage inhibition of tumors in each group by counting the number of tumor nodules on average per lung in each mouse organs within each group. Statistical analysis used is the analysis of Test homogenity of variances and continued with Mann- Whitney Test. Parasite jackfruit leaf aqueous extract (Macrosolencochincinensis (Lour.) van Tiegh) dose of I, II, and III were able to inhibit development into lung of female mice with the percentage inhibition respectively 50 %, 36.87 %, and 84.57 %

    Peningkatan Kadar TNFα Mencit BALB/c dengan Imunosupresi dan Diinfeksi C.albicans Akibat Pemberian Minyak Biji Mimba (Oleum Azadirachty)

    Fungal infection in oral cavity is mainly caused by C.albicans and now the case is reported increased. The increasing number of case is parallel with the increasing number of immunosupressed patients. Oleum azadirachty, the active agent of mimba (Azadirachta indica) which is categorized as a herbal medicine that has been used as antifungal drug in agricultural field, and is also found to have immunostimulatory effect in animal model. In addition, TNFα has been known to reduce the spreading of C. albicans and also important for granulocyte antifungal activity. The aim of this research study is to clarify the effect of oleum azadirachty to TNFα level in BALB/c mice cervical lymph node that immunosupressed and infected by C.albicans. This study used BALB/c mice that were devided in to six groups: which is consisted of three groups as control and three groups as studied groups. Mice were immunosupressed by given 2-3mg/mice subcutan injection of prednisolon one day before inoculation. Group 2 until group 6 were given tetracycline hydrochloride in drinking water (0,83mg/ml) since one day before inoculation. C.albicans inoculation was given at zero day. At 2nd day post infection, mice were sacrificed and TNFα level was measured by ELISA. Data were analysed by One Way Anova test and LSD (p=0.05). Result of this research indicated that Oleum Azadirachty could increse the level of TNFÎ

    Diabetes mellitus is one of major chronic health problems and the prevalence increases every year. Poor blood glucose control or uncontrolled hyperglycemia condition is the major reason diabetes mellitus can cause some complication in oral. As of this condition, numerous diabetes mellitus sufferers have poor quality of life because inadequate in mastication. For improving quality of life diabetic patients, they need denture to help them in mastication process. However, there some debates about denture for diabetic patients; because diabetes mellitus can be contraindication in prosthodontic treatment. Aim this study is to know the management in prosthodontic treatment of diabetic patients as rehabilitation and final treatment in dentistry. Diabetes mellitus patient management in prosthodontic are generally as followed medical history, check up blood glucose level, stress management, intra oral and radiography examination, oral and denture hygiene, diet consultation and denture elective. All of type of dental prosthesis can be considered to diabetic patients principally. Type of dental prosthesis that can be worn by diabetic patients are removable denture (partial and complete), fixed denture, overdenture, and implant. Pre treatment before making and inserting dental prosthesis must be finished. If there is dental caries, dental caries must be restored by appropriate restoration, such as filling, endodontic treatment, rigid restoration, etc. Moreover, the dentist must do plaque and calculus removing. The conclusion of this review is diabetes mellitus could be considered to take prosthodontic treatment, but the dentist must consider their blood glucose level

    Dental and oral diseases are the first on the list of the top 10 common diseases that complaint by Indonesian. Periodontitis is one of dental and oral diseases that usually found in Indonesian. Periodontitis is dental supporting tissue inflammation that caused by certain microorganism and caused periodontal tissue destruction. The major etiology of periodontitis is plaque bacteria. The aim of this study was to know periodontitis treatment in public health center care (Puskesmas) Sumbersari, Wuluhan and Bondowoso Hospital. This study was retrospective descriptive. Sampling technique used secondary data, sampling based on previous data in Puskesmas Sumbersari, Wuluhan and Bondowoso Hospital. Population of this study was patient who came in Sumbersari, Wuluhan and Bondowoso Hospital, about 812 patients. The samples were patients who diagnosed periodontitis, about 199 patients. The result showed that periodontitis was the most oral diseases that found in Puskesma Sumbersari, Wuluhan and Bondowoso Hospital. Puskesmas Sumbersari had the most incidences of periodontitis, it was about 120 patients. The most treatment of periodontitis was periodontal medication and tooth extraction. The conclusion described there was difference treatment in each public health care center and hospital

    Diabetes is a metabolic disorder characterized by high blood glucose levels or hyperglycemia. Diabetes can cause damage to multiple organs, such as the heart, eyes, kidneys, nerves, and vascular system, as well as an increased in periodontal disease. The periodontal disease mechanisms in diabetic conditions including, an increased of alveolar bone resorption, osteoclast formation, and osteoblast apoptosis. The activity of alveolar bone resorption were initiated by osteoblast which was secreted a key mediator of osteoclastogenesis process, namely the receptoractivator of nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL). This article will be discuss about the role of RANKL in the alveolar bone resorption process in diabetes conditions, which would be usefull for studying the diabetes complication such as alveolar bone resorption through the mechanism that related with the role of RANKL

    In the oral cavity there are a variety of microorganisms that live as normal flora of the oral cavity. The beneficial microorganisms and play a role in the development and defense of normal physiology in human . Components of these microorganisms can be pathogenic if the environment is compromised or are at a place that is not normal. Microflora commonly found in the oral cavity such as Staphylococcus aureus , Streptococcus mutans , and Streptococcus viridians . Today has developed various types of toothpaste containing various therapeutic materials to help improve oral health. The one that is being developed is much toothpaste containing tea tree oil, which has antibacterial and antiseptic properties are very high. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial effect of toothpaste containing tea tree oil to the amount of bacterial growth of S. aureus , S. mutans and S. viridians . This study uses a sample of 1 piece of toothpaste containing tea tree oil and 1 non toothpaste tea tree oil as a control. Furthermore, the data obtained by analysis of Kruskal Wallis were tabulated and tested, then tested Man Whithney. The results showed the number of bacteria S. aureus , S. mutans and S.viridans on toothpaste containing tea tree oil, much less when compared with the number of bacteria in toothpaste that contains tea tree oil . The conclusion of this study is the toothpaste that contains tea tree oil has antibacterial effects against S. aureus, S.mutans and S.viridans
