Oral candidiasis is a fungal infection of the superficial epithelium of the oral cavity caused by an overgrowth of Candida species. Effective therapy for oral candidiasis is nystatin. However, this drug has a variety of side effects. Therefore, natural therapeutic agent with minimal side effects is needed to be safe in long-term use. Okra fruit contains active ingredients that can be used as an antifungal agent. Aims to prove the ability of okra fruit extract and analyze the optimal concentration of okra fruit extract in inhibitting the growth of C. albicans. The antifungal activity test was carried out using the disk diffusion method. The research sample was divided into six groups, namely K (+) (nystatin), K (-) (DMSO 10%), and okra fruit extract with concentrations of 100%, 75%, 50%, and 25% obtained through the maceration process. Each research group was taken with a micropipette and then dripped on a paper disk. Paper disks were placed and distributed evenly on the surface of Saboroud Dextrose Agar (SDA) media that had been inoculated with C. albicans then incubated for 48 hours. The results showed the formation of a clear area around the paper disk that has been dropped with concentrations of 100%, 75%, and 50% of okra fruit extract. Okra fruit extract had an inhibitory effect on the growth of C. albicans and 100% concentration of okra fruit extract had the optimal ability to inhibit the growth of C. albicans

Laminate veneer is a treatment in prosthodontic that is aesthetically pleasing and requires minimal preparation that can be fabricated with indirect resin composite, which is durable and low-cost, though this material has poor color stability. Due to the increasing consumption of black tea and apple juice, there was a need for this study to be taken out. This study aims to determine the effect of consumption of black tea and apple juice on colour stability. Indirect resin composite specimens were fabricated 20 mm in diameter and 1.5 mm in thickness and divided into 3 groups (n = 10). Specimens were immersed in 3 types of solutions: black tea, apple juice and aquadest as control. The color of specimens was measured before and after immersion using a color spectrophotometer. Statistical analysis was performed with univariate test, Mann-Whitney U test, Independent T-test, one-way ANOVA and LSD test. Mean delta E (ΔE) value for black tea is 1,381 ± 0,938 and ΔE = 6,803 ± 1,757 in apple juice. Black tea and apple juice reduced the color stability of indirect resin composite significantly with p = 0,001 (p < 0.05). The effect of immersion in both drinks differed significantly with p = 0,001 (p <0.05). Apple juice experienced the greatest reduction in color stability, followed by black tea, and lastly the control group. The difference in the effect of immersing black tea and apple juice was due to the difference in pH and major acid content

Dental caries is a disease of the hard tissues of the teeth which is characterized by damage to the email and dentin caused by bacterial activity in fermented carbohydrates. One way to overcome and prevent caries is by giving anticariogenic substances that can inhibit caries development and trigger remineralization. As for other alternative materials used for remineralization, one of them is duck egg shell (Anas platyrhynchos domesticus) because it contains calcium carbonate which is in the eggshell can be converted into hydroxyapatite or calcium compounds, so that it can be used as the formation of damaged bones and teeth. In this study, duck egg shell hydroxyapatite extract was made in gel and paste preparations. In gel preparations, it has a high adhesive power so that the absorption on an email surface will be maximized. While in the preparation of pasta also has a great absorption power. This study aimed to determine the effect of hydroxyapatite gel and paste from duck eggshell extract (Anas platyrhynchos domesticus) and Casein Phosphopeptide-Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (CPP-ACP) on the tooth email hardness of wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus). In this study there were 3 treatment groups. Prior to treatment, the tooth sample was etched in the labial section for 20 seconds and rinsed using a brush and water. After etching was applied, in group 1, duck egg shell hydroxyapatite extract gel was applied, in group 2, duck egg shell hydroxyapatite extract paste was applied, and in group 3 as a control group, CPP-ACP was applied to the lower anterior teeth of wistar rats for 30 minutes 2 times a day. for 14 days. On the 15th day, the lower anterior teeth were decapitated by wistar rats and hardness testing was carried out using microvikers hardness in the labial part of the teeth. This research is a true experimental with Post Test Control Group Design. The result of the average hardness of email that has been treated with the highest hardness is CPP-ACP of 332 VHN. The results of the normality test using Shapiro Wilk showed that the duck egg shell extract gel could increase the surface hardness of tooth email. The results of the comparison test using Kruskal Wallis showed that there was a change in hardness between the hydroxyapatite gel of duck eggshell extract, hydroxyapatite paste of duck eggshell extract and CPP-ACP and there were significant differences. From the results of this study, there was an increase in the surface hardness of tooth email after the application of duck egg shell hydroxyapatite gel (Anas platyrhynchos domesticus) compared to paste preparations and as a positive control with CPP-ACP also increased the hardness of tooth email

The wound resulting from the excision procedure causes an inflammatory process to occur. At the initiation stage of inflammation, neutrophils play an important role in the phagocytosis of foreign bodies during the first two days after injury. Although neutrophils play a role in preventing infection, the persistence of neutrophils will cause acute wounds that progress to chronic wounds. This is what triggers the use of purple leaf extract as an anti-inflammatory agent. Determine the changes in neutrophils after labial mucosal excision procedure in male Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) given Purple Leaf Extract (EDU). The research method used is an experimental laboratory. In this study, five groups were used, namely the normal group, the control group, the first test group (given EDU 10%), the second test group (given 15% EDU), and the third test group (given 20% EDU) with 4 samples each group. Blood samples were taken for each rat on days 1, 3 and 7. The data from this study were carried out by the Two Way Annova parametric statistical test. The analysis showed that there was no significant difference between groups and between days of observation (α> 0.05). There is no significant decrease in the number of neutrophils in the peripheral blood smear of male Wistar rats after EDU administration, in the concentrations of 15% and 10% respectively. EDU is effective in reducing the number of neutrophils after the labial mucosal excision procedure in male Wistar rats
