Perbandingan Perubahan Warna Resin Komposit Nanofiller dan Nanohybrid Setelah Perendaman Pada Susu Fermentasi
This research was to determine the difference in the ratio of the color change of the nanofiller and nanohybrid composite resins after immersion in fermented milk. This study used nanofiller and nanohybrid composite resins in the form of tablets with a diameter of 10 mm and a thickness of 2 mm. 32 samples were divided into 2 groups, namely the nanofiller resin group and the nanohybrid resin group soaked in fermented milk for 7 days. The discoloration of nanofiller and nanohybrid composite resins was measured using a chromameter before and after immersion. The results of statistical analysis of the independent t-test showed that there was a difference between the color of the nanofiller resin and the nanohybrid, namely p = 0.015. The results of the analysis also showed a change in color between the nanofiller and nanohybrid composite resins before and after soaking the fermented milk for 7 days, namely p = 0.023 and p = 0.000. The conclusion of this study is that there are differences in the color change of nanofiller and nanohybrid composite resins in fermented milk immersion
Pemanfaatan Sistem Informasi Geografis untuk Pemantauan Karies di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Ambulu Kabupaten Jember
In line with the development of science and technology, and increasing human needs to make things easier, a technology called Geographic Information System (GIS) was created. Geographical information system (GIS) is a technology which is currently a very essential tool in the process of storing, manipulating, analyzing, and displaying natural conditions (including the utility network) with the help of attribute and spatial data (graphic). Based on the data from the visit reports of Dental Clinic in Ambulu Community Health Center from SP2TP section, the grouping of patients with dental caries is only based on the age of the patient and the working area that has village maternity home and auxiliary health center, so that the available information cannot represent all of the working area. Information on areas with the highest caries population can be the attention of the head of the dental clinic of Ambulu Community Health Center to conduct a promotive and preventive service program in the area. This study aimed to determine the use of geographic information systems for caries monitoring in the working area of Ambulu Community Health Center, Jember Regency. This research uses qualitative research. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the monitoring of caries in the working area of the Ambulu Community Health Center can be done by utilizing a geographic information system, so that the number of patients who have caries in each region can be known. This information can be used by dentists to plan promotive and preventive service activities that will be carried out
Laporan Kasus: Drug-Induced Gingival Enlargement Akibat Konsumsi Amlodipin
Gingival enlargement due to drug side effects is one of the complaints in the oral cavity in patients with certain conditions. One of the etiologies of gingival enlargement is a systemic factor caused by the consumption of certain drugs. Drugs that can cause gingival enlargement are Calcium Channel Blocker (CCB) drugs. Amlodipine consumed by hypertensive patients can trigger enlargement of the gingiva. A 72-year-old woman came to the General Soedirman University Dental and Oral Hospital with complaints of the front gums of her upper jaw and a swollen lower jaw since six months ago. The results of the general examination showed that the patient was suffering from hypertension and was taking 5 mg of amlodipine since one year ago. Intraoral examination revealed gingival enlargement, a mild scale extending to the anterior regions of the maxilla and mandible. The Oral Hygiene Index Simplified (OHI-S) examination score was 2.9 (moderate). The patient's diagnosis was gingival enlargement et causa amlodipin. Laporan Kasus: Manifestasi Oral Penderita Hipertensi berupa Ginggival Enlargement
Hypertension presents an increase in blood pressure following the oral manifestations, such as gingival enlargement. A 42-year-old woman came to the General Sudirman University Dental and Oral Hospital complaining of enlarged front gums seven years ago. The patient had a history of hypertension and regularly consumed drugs, amlodipine 5 mg. Extraoral examination revealed no lymphadenopathy and no swelling of the head and neck area. Intraoral examination revealed a gingival enlargement involving the papilla to the gingival margin present on the entire upper and lower labial gingival surface. The patient's diagnosis was gingival enlargement caused by gingival enlargement due to the use of amlodipine. Gingival enlargement has been noted with long-term or high-dose amlodipine use. The mechanism of amlodipine in causing gingival enlargement is through the role of fibroblasts with abnormal susceptibility to the drug, resulting in increased levels of protein synthesis, especially collagen. The role of pro-inflammatory cytokines occurs through an increase in interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and IL-6 in the inflamed gingival tissue due to the gingival fibrogenic response to drugs. Therapies were DHE and scaling and root planning as phase I in periodontal treatment. Plaque elimination is vital to reduce gingival inflammation that may occur. Substitution of the drug amlodipine may be needed if there is no improvement. Based on case reports, hypertension patients who took amlodipine could have gingival enlargement. The therapy given was plaque elimination in the form of DHE and Scaling and regular check-ups with the dentist
Pengaruh Rebusan Minyak Atsiri Daun Sirih Merah (Piper Crocatum) sebagai Bahan Pembersih Gigi Tiruan Resin Akrilik terhadap Kekasaran Permukaan dan Perubahan Warna
Acrylic resins are frequently used as the basic materials of dentures in daily dental practices. Submersion of dentures in disinfectant is usually done by denture users to prevent plaque accumulation. Red betel leaf decoction and essential oils of red betel leaf 10% and 25% can be used as an alternative natural disinfectant contain polyphenols, because it can inhibit the growth of Candida albicans which is commonly found in prosthesis denture users. On the other hand, the polyphenols of red betle leaves was predicted can affect the roughness and discoloration of acrylic resin. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in surface roughness and discoloration of heat cured acrylic resin submersed in decoction of red betel leaf and essential oil of red betel leaf 10% and 25%. This study was a laboratory experimental with pre and post test group design research.measuring surface roughness value with surface roughness TR 220 and discoloration value with color reader TCR 200. Conclusion: there is a difference in surface roughness and discoloration of acrylic resin that is submersed in decoction of red betel leaves and essential oils of red betel leaf 10% and 25%
