Efektivitas Ekstrak Bunga Rosella (Hibiscus Sabdariffa L.) Sistemik Terhadap Penyembuhan Ulser Pada Tikus Wistar (Rattus Norvegicus)
Ulcer is an open lesion in the oral mucosa which is generally triggered by various causes including trauma, hormonal, infectious agents, nutritional deficiencies, and various other systemic abnormalities. Treatment is needed to prevent secondary infections, reduce inflammation, reduce pain and speed healing. Rosella efficacious to increase endurance, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antioxidant. This ability is obtained from flavonoids, tannins, phenols, anthocyanins and saponins. The purpose was to determine the effect of systemic rosella extract on healing time and ulcer diameter and to determine the effective dose of rosella extract on ulcer healing in wistar rats. 20 rats were ulcered on the left buccal by heating the amalgam stopper over the Bunsen fire for 30 seconds and touching for one second then waiting for 48 hours. All groups were condensed with the Vitamin C group (K+), the untreated group (K-) and the treatment group which consisted of 0.17 mg/gBB(P1), 0.33 mg/gBB(P2), and 0.66 mg/gBB(P3). The treatment is done twice a day and the measurement of diameter by placing a plastic filling instrument along the ulcer is then marked and measured with a digital calipers carried out every day until the ulcer heals. Healing time and decrease in ulcer diameter were faster in the treatment group than in the control group. Fastest ulcer healing in roselle extract dose 0.17 mg/gBB. The conclusion described Roselle extract with a dose of 0.17 mg/gBB gives the most effective effect on ulcer healing
Pengetahuan Menginang berhubungan dengan Keluhan Rongga Mulut pada Lansia di Kabupaten Sampang Madura
Broadly speaking, periodontal tissue disease can be caused by two factors, namely local and systemic factors. These factors can be further aggravated by the presence of predisposition factors, such as host. The purpose of this study was to know relationship of betel knowledge with oral cavity complaints in the elderly in Taman village 2019. This study was cross sectional analytic research. The target in this study were elderly chewing betel in Taman Village, amounting to 32 elderly people. Methods of data collection knowledge of chewing betel used questionnaires and oral cavity complaints using observation. The analysis of this study used the is chi square test analysis. The analysis of is chi square test was significant which was 0,045 (p<0,05). Conclusion was there was relationship of chewing betel with oral cavity complaints in elderly in the jrengik village public health center
Kode Klasifikasi Penyakit Standar Internasional untuk Dokter Gigi
The International Classification of Disease (ICD-10) is a disease classification system by giving an alphabetical code and a number. ICD-10 is used, among other things, for the purposes of reporting and insurance claims at health service both primary health centers or clinics and hospitals as well as secondary service places. Currently, almost all Indonesian people have participated in health insurance. Health insurance applies ICD-10 for claim processing. Therefore, dentists must recognize the disease code based on the ICD-10. Neither dentist education nor professional colleges have introduced disease codes according to the ICD-10. This paper aims to provide information and explain how to classify oral diseases based on ICD-10. ICD-10 is a disease classification that is arranged based on a disease categorization system whose organization is in accordance with the criteria determined by the Word Health Organization (WHO). ICD-10 is used to translate disease diagnoses into numeric codes with the aim of making systematic and analytical records so that easy to store, search and re-analyze. The dentist profession association collegiums need to list the codes for dental and oral diseases according to ICD-10 and socialize it to members so that there is a common perception in writing ICD-10 codes
Pengaruh Gel Ekstrak Daun Kenitu (Chrysophyllum cainito L.) terhadap Reepitelisasi pada Penyembuhan Luka Bakar Mukosa Bukal Tikus Wistar
Burn therapy involves elimination of causative factors and symptomatic therapy. Kenitu leaves (Chrysophyllum cainito L.) are known to contain β-amylin acetate, Gallic acid, ursolic acid, quercetin, β-sitosterol, and other substances that have the potential to be antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory. The use of kenitu leaves (Chrysophyllum cainito L.) as an alternative to wound healing has low side effects and is easy to obtain, especially in Jember Regency. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of kenitu leaves (Chrysophyllum cainito L.) leaf extract gel on re-epithelialization in buccal mucosal burns of wistar rats. This type of research is experimental laboratories. This research used 32 samples which divided into four control groups and four treatment groups. Burns are made on the left buccal mucosa. In the control group the CMC placebo gel was given and the treatment group was given 2% leaf extract gel. Euthanasia was performed on days 4, 7, 10, and 13 then histological preparations were made. Measurement using software optilab viewer 2.2 and image raster 3.0. The average yield of epithelial thickness was lowest in the control group on day 4 and highest in the treatment group on day 13. The results of the One Way Anova statistical test showed a significant difference in epithelial thickness between the control group and the treatment group. This study proved that the 2% leaf extract can accelerate the process of reepithelialization in the healing of wistar mucosal mucosal burns
Kajian Pustaka: Potensi Hypnosis untuk Mengurangi Nyeri pada Pasien yang Mendapatkan Perawatan Gigi dan Mulut
The purpose of this literature review is to find out whether hypnosis can be used to reduce pain in patients receiving dental and oral care. Hypnosis has been used to treat acute and chronic pain, anxiety, and other positive benefits before, during and after surgery. However, in the field, the use of hypnosis is still little used and even many who doubt its effectiveness. We reviewed articles in English using keywords: hypnosis, pain, anesthesia, dental, procedure with a time span from 1846 to 2019, with 20 selected articles on google scholars, pubmed, science direct, and the national library portal of the republic of Indonesia (PNRI). , Mesmerism hypnosis and Ericsonian hypnosis have been used for anesthesia for a long time before chemical anesthesia was discovered, the use of chemical anesthesia makes hypnosis no longer used as the main anesthetic in surgery, but in certain cases such as patients with multiple chemical sensitivity or patients with contraindications for general anesthesia, hypnosis still used as the primary anesthetic in surgery, currently hypnosis is widely used in perioperative surgery. The use of hypnosis with chemical anesthetics can increase the benefits and there are no reported side effects. Conclusion: hypnosis can be used as primary anesthesia, especially in certain cases, it needs well-designed research such as randomized control trials on the use of hypnosis with chemical anesthetics, both perioperatively and intraoperatively to obtain clearer and consistent scientific information about hypnosis and chemical anesthetics
Laporan Kasus: Perawatan Splinting Wire pada Pasien Periodontitis disertai Diabetes Melitus
Periodontitis causes destruction of tooth attachment to bone and may predispose to systemic disease. Diabetes mellitus is a risk factor for periodontal disease, these two diseases are correlated; periodontal disease can be favored by bacterial infection caused by an alteration of the immune system because of diabetes mellitus as well as chronic inflammation caused by periodontal disease leads to poor glycemic control in these patients. Case report: A 56 years old female complaining of mobility at anterior teeth. Intra oral examination was found oral hygiene tends to be poor, 11th grade 2 luxation, 6,5 mm clinical loss attachment, 3,5 mm gingival recession, and 3 mm probing depth. She had been diagnosed diabetes mellitus and 2 years ago and has medical treatment for this diseases. The therapy provided is in the form of education, scaling, and splinting wire. Discussion: Diabetes mellitus is associated with periodontal ligament destruction which subsequently can lead to tooth loss. Gingival crevicular fluids and saliva have higher concentrations of inflammatory mediators including different types of cytokines among diabetic patients with periodontitis as compared to non-diabetic individuals with periodontal disease. Conclusion: Chronic periodontitis in patients with diabetes melitus must be monitored periodically both blood glucose levels and plaque control in the oral cavity
