Sufistic nahw pedagogy: Integrating Arabic grammar and tasawwuf in moral education in pesantren
This study addresses the epistemological gap between exoteric knowledge (‘ilm al-lisān) and esoteric knowledge (‘ilm al-qalb) in pesantren education, which often results in a dichotomy between linguistic competence and ethical conduct. The study offers a new pedagogical model by integrating Sufistic elements into Nahw (Arabic grammar) education, thus contributing to the moral and spiritual formation of students. Using a qualitative approach with an Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) design at Pesantren Babussalam Pagelaran, data were collected through in-depth interviews and participant observation with teachers and senior students. The findings reveal that Sufistic Nahw pedagogy transforms Nahw from a mere linguistic tool into a medium for tazkiyat al-nafs. By reviving symbolic interpretations of grammatical structures within the Sufi tradition and applying the takhallī–taḥallī–tajallī framework, this integration effectively fosters moral awareness, modesty (al-ḥayā’), and self-control among students. This research provides a significant pedagogical innovation by positioning linguistic education as a core component of spiritual development in Islamic educational institutions
Improving learners’ religious moderation through digital storytelling- based speaking learning in religious higher education and nonreligious higher education institutions
Digital storytelling plays a significant role in improving learners’ speaking skills by encouraging students to creatively record and convey stories, thereby exercising their speaking abilities in meaningful contexts. Furthermore, this medium facilitates the exploration of religious moderation values through narratives that depict tolerance, diversity, and respect for differences, so reinforcing students' understanding and inclusive attitudes. The objectives of this research are: 1) To explore the impact of speaking instruction based on digital storytelling on the improvement of religious moderation among students in religious and non-religious higher education institutions; 2) To identify the factors influencing the effectiveness of digital storytelling in improving students' religious moderation within speaking instruction in religious and non-religious higher education institutions; 3) To explore students' perceptions of the use of digital storytelling in speaking instruction as a method for improving religious moderation in religious and non-religious higher education institutions. This study employs a mixed-methods approach (qualitative and quantitative methods). The subjects of this research are students enrolled in the speaking course approximately 75 students taken from the English Education Department of Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University Malang, University of Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya and University of PGRI Jombang. The finding indicated that speaking instruction based on digital storytelling might be classified as effective and considerably strengthens students' values of tolerance, balance, and moderate attitudes in higher education settings. Next, the effectiveness of the use of digital storytelling in improving learners’ religious moderation were influenced by several factors. In addition, the students' perspectives on using digital storytelling to enhance their religious moderation vary. Nonetheless, they discovered that employing digital storytelling could enhance their religious moderation
Exploring Students’ Cognitive Presence in AI-Assisted Learning Environments: A Qualitative Inquiry in Higher Education
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education reshapes the learning process by positioning AI as a learning partner that influences students’ thinking, information exploration, and academic decision-making. This qualitative case study explores students’ cognitive presence in AI-assisted learning using the Community of Inquiry framework, focusing on the phases of triggering, exploration, integration, and resolution. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations of digital learning activities, and analysis of student interactions on an AI platform involving 12 students from a technology-based university in Gading Serpong. The findings show that AI effectively supports the triggering and exploration phases through adaptive feedback and conceptual assistance, while knowledge integration relies largely on students’ self-reflection. The resolution phase emerges primarily among students with higher digital literacy and self-regulation. The study concludes that AI can enhance cognitive presence, but its impact depends on students’ cognitive readiness and instructional design, contributing to AI-based learning theory and informing more adaptive, student-centered learning environments
Regulasi Hukum Keluarga Islam Indonesia dalam Bingkai Sejarah dan Pemikiran
Buku yang hadir di ruang para pembaca yang budiman ini berupaya untuk menelisik perkembangan regulasi hukum keluarga Islam Indonesia dalam rentang waktu antara tahun 1946 sampai dengan 2019 yang kemudian diurai ke dalam 5 (lima) Bab kajian. Diawali dengan Bab I yang menegaskan posisi kajian yang akan dibahas dalam buku ini. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan Bab II yang mengurai peta sejarah regulasi hukum keluarga di Indonesia sekaligus tipologi pemikirannya pada setiap babakan sejarahnya. Pada Bab berikutnya, Bab III, uraiannya difokuskan untuk menelisik aspek progresifitas hukum keluarga pasca-lahirnya Putusan Mahkamah Konstitusi yang menganulir disparitas usia nikah antara laki-laki dan perempuan. Selanjutnya Bab IV mengulas geliat pembaruan hukum keluarga dengan mencontohkan beberapa putusan lembaga peradilan baik Putusan Mahkamah Agung maupun Mahkamah Konstitusi, dan yang tidak kalah pentingnya adalah menyoal tentang aspek pembaruan melalui lembaga legislatif. Kemudian Bab V sebagai penutup, penulis menyajikan semacam “catatan reflektif” dengan menyodorkan kesimpulan tentang sejarah hukum sebagai sejarah kekuasaan
Exploring high school students’ affective responses toward authentic texts in reading activities : A case study in Malang Indonesia
Reading is a complex language skill because it involves various cognitive and affective processes in understanding text. This study attempts to analyze the students' affective responses and the challenges faced by them while reading authentic English texts at a high school level. This study applied qualitative method with a case study approach. The subjects of this study were tenth-grade students at a high school in Malang. The research data was obtained through observation, questionnaires, and interviews, which showed that students’ affective responses to the use of authentic texts in reading activities were divided into five aspects, namely receiving (3.77, high category), responding (3.37, medium category), valuing (4.04, high category), organization (3.64, high category), and characterization (3.17, medium category). However, the students also faced several challenges, especially regarding some problematic vocabularies, sentence structures, and cultural understanding of the texts. This study is expected to provide useful information for the development of reading activities based on authentic texts and this could serve as a reference for further research conducted in the context of authentic text use
Studi komparatif keilmuan Baghdad dan inovasi Silicon Valley: Refleksi untuk pembelajaran sejarah di era disrupsi
Studi ini membandingkan dinamika keilmuan di Baghdad (masa keemasan Islam) dan silicon valley (era modern) sebagai pusat inovasi global. Meskipun menunjukkan kemajuan signifikan yang didorong oleh dukungan pemerintah, kolaborasi lintas budaya, dan kebebasan berpikir, terdapat kesenjangan pemahaman dalam pembelajaran sejarah mengenai relevansi nilai etis dari Baghdad bagi ekosistem inovasi modern. Pembelajaran sejarah hanya fokus pada narasi kronologis, tanpa mengintegrasikan dimensi filosofis dan etis dari peradaban keilmuan. Akibatnya, kurikulum sejarah gagal memberikan perspektif holistik tentang bagaimana ilmu pengetahuan dapat beretika dan berkelanjutan, untuk menghadapi tantangan etis era teknologi disruptif. Metode menggunakan studi literatur pendekatan historis komparatif. Subjek kajian berupa dokumen tertulis seperti karya ilmiah, buku, dan laporan sejarah tentang Baghdad dan silicon valley, yang di analisis dengan teknik tematik untuk menarik pola persamaan dan perbedaan mendasar. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa kedua peradaban memiliki faktor pendorong keilmuan esensial, seperti dukungan sistemik, kolaborasi interdisipliner dan kebebasan berpikir, yang menjadi model pembelajaran bermakna dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Kisah Baghdad mengintegrasikan etika dan ilmu menjadi materi ajar nilai universal, sementara silicon valley menawarkan studi kasus ekosistem inovasi. Konteks ini relevan untuk membangun ekosistem keilmuan berkelanjutan dan memperkaya materi sejarah

“Resik-resik Sendang” berupa sebuah gunungan wayang yang luntur dan bergerak ke arah bundaran lingkaran. Di dalam ikon gunungan terdapat tokoh-tokoh wayang. Subjek wayang pada bagian bawah digambarkan bertransformasi menjadi bentuk sapu. Pada bagian ujung kiri lukisan digambarkan figur kambing yang melayang mengikuti subjek wayang. Seluruh subjek digambarkan bergerak ke arah bundaran lingkaran. Pada background lukisan berwarna hijau gelap yang semakin dekat dengan bundaran berwarna lebih terang. Teknik yang digunakan menggunakan teknik sapuan kuas yang lembut sehingga tidak meninggalkan jejak sapuan kuas
Legitimization of violence in the political discourse of Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu during the Gaza War Press Conference
Political discourse surrounding Gaza frequently invokes the rhetoric of peace as a means to conceal practices of violence and domination. Situated within the broader field of discourse and ideology studies, this phenomenon lies at the intersection of language, power, and moral legitimation. However, it remains insufficiently examined as a joint discursive construction produced by two state leaders within a shared public setting. This article investigates how these leaders concurrently employ linguistic strategies to normalize warfare and legitimize coercive actions, rather than merely to persuade or evoke emotional responses. The study adopts a qualitative approach through content analysis of both the video recording and transcript of a joint press conference, interpreted using Van Dijk’s critical discourse framework, which examines ideological structures at macro- and micro-levels. The findings demonstrate a systematically coordinated use of authority claims, numerical framing, disclaimers, national self-glorification, hyperbolic expressions, and strategic lexical choices. Together, these strategies construct the in-group as moral protectors while marginalizing and obscuring the suffering of the out-group. Such discursive practices redirect global attention away from humanitarian crises and toward political agendas that primarily advance hegemonic interests, thereby reinforcing domination through language. This article advocates for the strengthening of public critical literacy, greater transparency in humanitarian reporting, and the expansion of comparative research across political contexts to deepen understanding of how discourse functions to legitimize violence in contemporary political communication
Orasi Ilmiah: Sarjana sebagai Agen dan Katalis Perubahan Sosial
Orasi ilmiah ini membahas peran sarjana sebagai agen sekaligus katalis perubahan sosial dalam konteks masyarakat Indonesia yang majemuk dan dinamis. Sarjana diposisikan tidak hanya sebagai individu berpengetahuan, tetapi sebagai aktor sosial yang memiliki tanggung jawab moral untuk mendorong perubahan yang berorientasi pada kemaslahatan. Orasi ini menegaskan bahwa perubahan sosial tidak semata-mata ditentukan oleh keberadaan agen sosial, melainkan juga oleh struktur ekonomi, budaya, kebijakan, dan relasi kekuasaan, sehingga menuntut peran strategis sarjana sebagai katalis perubahan. Mengacu pada kerangka Waddock, peran katalitik sarjana dijelaskan melalui tiga fungsi utama, yaitu connecting, cohering, dan amplifying, yang memungkinkan sarjana menjembatani ilmu dan praktik, menyelaraskan nilai dan tujuan bersama, serta memperluas dampak perubahan sosial. Selain itu, orasi ini menekankan pentingnya kemampuan sarjana dalam memetakan kolaborator dan memaknai kompetitor secara etis, dengan mengarahkan energi pada pengembangan diri dan peningkatan mutu kontribusi, bukan pada upaya saling menghambat. Dalam perspektif psikologi dan keislaman, khususnya maqāṣid syarī‘ah ḥifẓ al-‘aql, orasi ini menegaskan bahwa pembentukan habit of mind—berpikir kritis, reflektif, empatik, dan berbasis bukti—merupakan fondasi penting bagi kontribusi sarjana dalam perubahan sosial. Orasi ini menutup dengan penegasan bahwa menjadi sarjana tidak menjamin kemapanan material, namun memberikan bekal intelektual dan moral untuk berperan secara kontributif, berkeadaban, dan berkelanjutan dalam membangun masyarakat yang lebih adil dan manusiawi

Perlindungan konsumen menjadi aspek penting dalam
mewujudkan keadilan, kepastian hukum, dan keamanan transaksi,
baik dalam praktik konvensional maupun digital.
Pembahasan buku ini diawali dengan pengenalan hukum
perlindungan konsumen, asas, hak dan kewajiban para pihak, serta
lembaga dan mekanisme penyelesaian sengketa. Selanjutnya, buku
ini menguraikan sejarah dan perkembangan hukum perlindungan
konsumen, hak-hak dasar dan spesifik konsumen, kewajiban serta
tanggung jawab pelaku usaha, termasuk sanksi dan ganti rugi. Isu-
isu kontemporer seperti perlindungan konsumen dalam transaksi
elektronik, produk dan jasa yang tidak aman, regulasi iklan,
perjanjian standar, serta perlindungan konsumen di sektor
keuangan dan asuransi juga dibahas secara komprehensif.
Disusun oleh para akademisi hukum, buku ini diharapkan
menjadi referensi bagi mahasiswa, dosen, praktisi, dan pemerhati
hukum dalam memahami dan menerapkan hukum perlindungan
konsumen secara efektif dan berkeadilan
