Full text linkThe present study aims to explicit the various positive heritage values inherent to the dwellings built in the city of Oporto as part of the operations undertook by the Service of Local Ambulatory Support (SAAL). Acknowledging these structures as testimony of a defining moment for the establishment of national identity – post 25th April 1974 –the appeal and validity of the safekeeping of these architectures will be grounded on the analysis of other case studies, relevant to the appreciation of Social Housing as a strong contribute towards the enrichment of national culture, finalizing with a presentation of heritage management methodologies applicable to the case in question
«Le fjord glacé d’Ilulissat: la mise en tourisme d’un paysage naturel patrimonialisé»
Full text linkTourism started slowly in Ilulissat (Greenland) in the 1980s-1990s, before expanding further in the 21st century since the UNESCO classification of the Sermeq Kujalleq Glacier Fjord and the fact that the Arctic has become a symbol of climate change. These journeys are both imaginary, described as «cryotropism», «borealism» or «nordicity», and very real: the impact of tourism is visible in the environment. A new international airport is planned for 2023. What type of tourist and therefore travel will this attract? We asked ourselves to what extent the Ilulissat natural site could be managed in a sustainable way. In order to answer this question, we adopted the participant observation from an immersion in the Ilulissat Fjord Office and conducted about twenty semistructured interviews

Full text linkCom as transformações ocorridas na política cultural no Brasil a partir dos anos 2000, o campo da Educação Patrimonial foi democratizado. Nesse processo, foram buscadas na história do Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN) experiências inspiradoras para a nova atuação. Assim, o Projeto Interação entre a Educação Básica e os Diferentes Contextos Culturais Existentes no País (1982-1986) foi valorizado como exemplo para se repensar as práticas educativas com as referências culturais. No entanto, essa apropriação do Projeto Interação ficou limitada às memórias dos profissionais remanescentes do IPHAN que trabalharam no órgão nos anos 1980. Este artigo busca superar a ausência de estudos sistematizados apresentando a investigação feita no Arquivo Central de Brasília e demonstrar como os princípios do Interação estão presentes no IPHANatualmente

Full text linkO escopo deste relato de experiência em sala de aula converge em três pontos: o primeiro ponto terá como foco, avaliação da disciplina de História e Cultura de África, aspectos gerais e em relação ao docente. O segundo vai tratar sobre a representação dos conteúdos aprendidos em sala de aula. Com o terceiro ponto, pretende-se acompanhar as trajetórias pessoais dos estudantes em torno da pesquisa orientada pelo professor. Os sujeitos pesquisados são estudantes do segundo ano do Instituto Superior de Artes, dos cursos de Artes Visuais e Design de Moda. As estratégias metodológicas da pesquisa compreenderam o uso de questionário, entrevistas individuais e coletivas, além de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental
Ficção e fruição de paisagens de Oitocentos: entre o Porto e Vila Real, por Edward Quillinan
Full text linkThe Edward Quillinan’s novel The Sisters of the Douro highlights a set of Heritage Landscapes confined by the banks of the Douro river, as well as all the anthropic process about customs and manners of the Douro inhabitants during the 2nd French invasion of northern Portugal. On the narrative stage between Porto and Vila Real, the text is deeply enriched by heritages of urban or country landscapes observed along the way, describing building and topographic details, including flora and fauna. Imposed by the romantic literary aesthetics, the reader also notices about a loving plot of two Portuguese young women from the Douro and two English officers, pages where deep and original cultural and anthropic perspectives are developed. This novel is generally considered a historic document of the Portuguese Patrimony of the nineteenth century. For this reason, and in accordance with the cultural and geographical framework provided by literary realism, it is acceptable that all those heritage values can be prospectively collected and considered
Educação Histórica nas primeiras idades: quadro epistemológico e conceptual
Full text linkA evolução recente da Educação Histórica mostra-nos que é cada vez mais premente o trabalho pedagógico com crianças da Educação Infantil e Básica (3-12 anos). O artigo começa por definir, epistemologicamente, o quadro conceptual da área científica nas primeiras idades e, num segundo momento, por fornecer aos profissionais e investigadores pistas e exemplos de aplicaçãode atividades e estratégias com os seus grupos de crianças, tanto no jardim de infância como na escola primária e do segundo ciclo, com base em experiências testadas ao longo de mais de uma década de formação de educadores e professores no Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo que reforçam a criação de um instrumento de trabalho. Conclui-se que este trabalho deve ser iniciado nos primeiros anos de socialização e integração na estrutura educativa formal. A criança é rica em aprendizagens, saberes e pontos de partida que devem ser sempre a base para seguir em frente
The urban landscape heritage as a social participative and artistic construct. The case study of Mouraria in Lisbon
Full text linkMigrations, mass tourism, and international real estate investments are causing irreversible effects on the genuine identity evolution of Mouraria’s urban landscape heritage. This research analyses the emotional and multisensorial responses to the urban space of Mouraria’s residents using the methodology of three pedagogical-artistic laboratories. We enquire how this multicultural community is involved in the creation of an active and predicative experience of space through artistic activities. This community-based research reaffirms the understanding of the urban heritage in its intangible dimension as a social participative construct, in a constant process of identity reformulation, reinvention, and artistic creation

Full text linkBetween 1947 and 1958, thousands of Austrian children were hosted by Portuguese families and institutions as part of an action promoted by Caritas. Thus escaping, for some time, the misery of a country devastated by war, these “Caritas children” found in Portugal, under Antonio de Oliveira Salazar’s Estado Novo, shelter and, in most cases, affection: an experience that, besides having repercussions in their memories and journeys, also left marks that, although less visible, continue to make themselves felt in Portugal. In this article we present a general outline of the research «The “Caritas Children”, between Austria and Portugal (1947-1958)», which was aimed to understand the way the Action took place, its repercussions on those involved, the way it was dealt with by government agencies and displayed by the press at its service and perceived by the population
