    Evaluasi Kandungan Formalin Pada Ikan Asin Di Lampung

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kandungan formalin pada ikan asin yang beredar di provinsi Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan teknik purposive sampling. Identifikasi formalin dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan menggunakan teskit formalin antilin® yang dilanjutkan dengan analisis kuantitatif menggunakan spektrofotometer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk ikan asin yang terdapat di Lampung sangat beragam baik ditinjau jenis ikan, karakteristik maupun bentuk olahan. Ikan asin yang mengandung formalin sebanyak 25,92% dari sampel yang diteliti dengan kadar formalin berada pada level yang membahayakan, terutama sampel ikan layur dari Lampung Timur, ikan sebelah dari Bandar Lampung dan ikan nila dari Lampung Selatan

    Black cumin (Nigella sativa) has been used as an immunostimulant in humpback grouper (Cromileptes altivelis) was infected with Viral Nervous Necrosis (VNN). The addition of 7,5% black cumin in fish feed showed to increase innate immune responsee of humpback grouper. However, then was unknown histopathology effect forward black cumin administration in fish. This research purpose was to know  profile of histopathological humpback grouper stimulated black cumin and infected VNN. Fish was organized in five tanks based on treatment i.e control, VNN infected fish, and VNN infected fish with additional 2,5 %, 5 %, and 7,5 % black cumin in fish feed. Then was five organs i.e brain, eyes, kidney, liver, and gills, that observed each fish sample. Result of this research showed that the addition of black cumin, was not affect histopathology profile in humpback grouper that infected with VNN

    Asian seabass (Lates calcarifer) is one of the fish has a high economic value and widely cultivated in Indonesia. However, Asian seabass cultured constrains by infectious diseases such as Viral Nervous Necrosis (VNN). Application of antibiotics during cultured cause resistance and residues in the body of fish. Disease prevention method by use immunostimulant develop to enhances non-specific responses. The purposes of this research were to know the best dose of black cumin (Nigella sativa) that can increase the non-specific immune response of Asian seabass after injected by VNN. This research used four treatments (0 g black cumin/kg of feed, 25 g black cumin /kg of feed, 50 g black cumin/kg of feed and 75 g black cumin/kg of feed). Total leucocyte and differential leucocyte analyzed descriptively. The results showed that dose of 75 g black cumin/kg of feed is the best  for increase the non-specific immune response of Asian seabass which had been seen from the highest total leucocyte. However, there was no effect of administrated of black cumin to Asian seabass after injected with VNN which had been seen from the RPS

    Lumo (Labiobarbus ocellatus) is one of consumption fish that available throughout the year at Tulang Bawang river.The constrains to local fish populations is reducing fish stocks by fisherman. Information about growth and reproduction of lumo is necessary to support the management of fish resources. The research was conducted on April until December 2013. The samples were collected from 4 stations and from the fisherman who landed at fish market The parameters that were measured included of the length and weight, the gonade somatic level, the gonade somatic index and fecundity. Fish samples were used for this study is 893 fish. The result showed that lumo spawned from November to Desember and categorized as total spawner. The gonade maturity index varied from 2.22 to 7.27%, fecundity ranged from 424 to 24.491 eggs, the sex ratio of lumo is unbalanced.The growth pattern were positive allomatric and condition factor is <1 in which showed lumo in Tulang Bawang river is fla

    Eutrofication is an increase of nutrient supply (nitrogen and phosphor) to a very high concentration and above the limit that the nature can cope with. This recent research was aimed to predict the eutrofication  of the waters based on the distribution of nutrients and chlorophyll-a and conducted on November 2012. The research was carried out by considering two main parameters which were main research parameters and supporting parameter over physical, chemical and biological variables. The main research parameters consisted of total N and P, chlorophyll-a and dissolved oxygen of which those variables were the main variables used in the TRIX index analysis (an index used to characterized the trophic status of a body of waters). The fertility status of Kendari Bay based on TRIX index was categorized as eutrophic having TRIX index of 5.12.     Skeletonema costatum adalah pakan alami yang banyak digunakan khusunya dalam budidaya udang, kandungan gizi yang tinggi, ukuran yang sesuai dengan bukaan mulut larva merupakan keunggulan dari Skeletonema costatum. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan  perbedaan media kultur teknis (Walne dan Guillard) secara massal pada Skeletonema costatum terhadap pertumbuhan, lemak dan profil asam amino essensial. Metoda kultur yang digunakan adalah secara massal dengan dua media kultur teknis yang berbeda (Double Walne dan Guillard teknis), analisis lemak dilakukan dengan analisa proksimat dan profil asam amino essensial menggunakan HPLC Eurospher 100-5 C18, 250x4,6mm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media kultur yang terbaik adalah Guillard teknis dimana pertumbuhan pada Skeletonema costatum yaitu 86,75 x 104sel/ml dengan lama fase stasioner  52 jam, lemak 7,74%, profil asam amino essensial tertinggi pada Skeletonema costatum, yaitu asam amino Threonin yaitu 2359,05 ppm.

    Penelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan membandingkan keragaman jenis ektoparasit pada ikan mas (Cyprinus carpio) dan ikan maskoki (Carassius auratus) yang berasal dari Lampung dan luar Lampung Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survei langsung dan pengambilan sampel secara random ke pedagang ikan yang mendatangkan ikan dari luar Lampung serta ke lokasi budidaya ikan yang ada di Lampung.  Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah prevalensi parasit, intensitas, dominasi, indeks keragaman, indeks dominasi dan indeks keseragaman terhadap parasit yang ditemukan. Metode pemeriksaan secara langsung di lokasi dengan preparasi kerokan kulit dan insang dilakukan di laboratorium. Data yang diperoleh ditabulasi dan dihitung keragamannya dengan indeks Shannon-Wiener. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis parasit yang ditemukan menginfeksi ikan uji adalah Trichodina nobilis, Gyrodactylus sp, Trichodina reticulata, Dactylogyrus sp. Myxobolus sp. Vorticella sp. dan Ichthyophthirius sp. Parasit yang mendominasi ikan maskoki dari luar Lampung adalah Trichodina nobilis (69,66%) dan pada ikan maskoki asal Lampung adalah Trichodina nobilis (70,05%). Parasit yang mendominasi ikan mas asal luar Lampung adalah Trichodina nobilis (65,89%), dan pada ikan mas asal Lampung adalah Vorticella sp. (37,86%). Indeks keragaman parasit (H’) tertinggi pada ikan maskoki asal luar Lampung sebesar 0,6389, pada ikan maskoki asal Lampung sebesar 0,3836, pada ikan mas asal luar Lampung H’ sebesar 0,5766, dan pada ikan mas asal Lampung H’ tertinggi sebesar 0,5625

    Tujuan kegiatan penelitian adalahmengetahui pengaruh lama waktu kejutansuhu terhadap pembentukan individutriploid pada ikan patin, tingkat derajatpenetasan dan kelangsungan hidup larvaikan patin Perlakuan lama waktu kejutansuhu dingin yang diberikan masing-masing120 detik, 180 detik dan 240 detik pada suhu4oC pada fase meiosis 1. Masing-masingperlakuan dilakukan sebanyak 3 kali. Penetasandan pemeliharaan larva dilakukanpada akuarium serta hapa untuk kegiatanpendederan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkanbahwa perlakuan lama waktu kejutan suhudingin memberikan hasil yang nyata terhadappembentukan individu triploid padaikan patin (P<0,05). Persentase individutriploid tertinggi diperoleh pada lamawaktu kejutan 78,33%. Selain itu tingkatpertumbuhan benih ikan patin hinggahari ke-28 menunjukkan peningkatan sejalandengan peningkatan persentase individutriploid dari masing-masing perlakuan.Laju pertumbuhan tertinggi diperoleh dariperlakuan lama waktu kejutan suhu 4oCsebesar 10,40 %

    KARAKTERISTIK HABITAT DAN TINGKAT KEMATANGAN GONAD KEPITING KELAPA (Birgus latro) DI PULAU UTA, PROPINSI MALUKU UTARA

    Coconut crab (Birgus latro) is  one of the species of crustaceans that economically valuable. The research aimed to investigate habitat characteristics and gonad maturity of Coconut crabs (Birgus latro) in Uta Island, North Mollucas. Sampling was conducted through cruising survey from May to September 2012, while parameters examined to the habitat characteristics and reproductive aspects were physical-chemical, gonad maturity, and vegetation existence. Habitat characteristics were assessed using Cluster Analysis. Result showed that length and weight relationship of male crabs wasW= 1.93 (CP + r), while the female was 1.17W= 1.97 (CP + r) 0.97. During the observation, it showed that mature gonad occurred in all catching time indicating that it didn’t occur simultaneously on the broodstock. The smallest crabs were found 65.44 mm in length (CP + r). There was no significant different of sex ratio between males and females (1:1). Disparity of habitat characteristics in each station doesn’t affect to the catch, both the quantity and level of gonad maturity. Habitat conditions at all stations strongly supported their activities to live sustainably
