ANALISIS BEBAN PENDINGINAN PADA RUANG PENYIMPANAN PRODUK PERTANIAN UNTUK SULAWESI UTARA DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN SISTEM REFRIGERASI BERTINGKAT
This research aims to calculate the cooling load in cold storage of some agricultural products: potatoes, tomatoes, and peppers; to calculate the compressor’s power that is used on the cold storage with three types of multistage compression system: two compressors – three evaporators system (type 1), one compressor – three evaporators system (type 2), and two compressors – one evaporator system (type 3) for each agricultural products; and to analyze the calculated compressor’s power to determine the most efficient refrigeration system.Based on the calculation’s results, it is found that the cooling load of potatoes is 295.438,28 Btu/hour, tomatoes 247.261,38 Btu/hour, peppers 300.281,36 Btu/hour, and the total cooling load of the three agricultural products is 841.981,02 Btu/hour. By using multistage compression system, it is obtained that the compressor’s power of type 1 is 106,15 hp, type 2 108,55 hp, and the type 3 212,03 hp that consists of type 3a is 75,55 hp, type 3b 59,44 hp, and type 3c 77,04 hp. Keywords: cooling load, multistage compression system, compressor’s powe
ANALISIS DEFLEKSI AKIBAT BEBAN ANGIN PADA BEJANA TEKAN VERTIKAL DI KELURAHAN SAGERAT KOTA BITUNG
Nowdays, the industry plays a vital role in the economy; therefore design of an efficient plant industry is very important. There is a component for handling a pressurized fluid, such as a pressure vessel. The purpose of this study was to determine the maximum deflection occurs at a vertical pressure vessel due to wind loads, and obtains maximum height of pressure vessels based on the allowable deflection. The object of this research is in Bitung. Bitung is one of the industrial cities located in the Province of North Sulawesi. Wind velocity was obtained from BMKG Bitung Maritime Station. Analysis of deflection applied to pressure vessel which has height of 25 ft to 150 ft. The results showed that the higher the pressure vessel, the higher the deflection. The maximum deflections for height of 25 ft to 150 ft have been determined. Furthermore, based on allowable deflection, the allowable height of the pressure vessel in Sagerat Village-Bitung City is 147.44 ft. Keywords        : Wind Load, Pressure Vessel, Deflection, Bitun
PERANCANGAN SISTEM TRANSMISI GOKAR LISTRIK
The Development of automotive todays is very fast because every single year there is always something new. This research aims to design fuel-efficient vehicles and environmentally friendly, especially the transmission is driven by an electric motor that used a chain sprocket transmission system is applied to the electric gocart. From the results of this research shows that the transmission can be used on a simple electric gocart transmission system chain sprocket is roll type single line, which consists of two sprocket and chain on rotation 1 750 rpm and 2 hp motor power. Dimensions obtained by the small sprocket diameter 35 mm with a number of teeth 9 pieces, large sprocket diameter 250 mm with a number of teeth 62 fruit and chain length of 1,243 mm at a distance of 381 mm spindle axis. The purpose of this research is to integrate aspects of risk in the process of managing spare parts in PLTD Bitung. To achieve these objectives, this research is using AHP methods (Analytical Hierarchy Proses). Â Froms the result of the AHP the weight of the criteria are as follows : availability of goods (0,9542) delivery time (0,9986). Wear rate (1.3293), risk (1,1439). PERANCANGAN ROBOT PENGIKUT GARIS BERBASIS MICROCONTROLLER
 Currently the development of robot technology is growing rapidly. The technology is utilized and developed to assist people in doing their activities more easily and efficiently. One application of the robotic technology is the line follower robot that is widely used in transportation in industrial field. The purpose of this thesis was to determine the working principle and reliability of the line follower robot with its main components that are power supply, sensors, microcontrollers, and motor drivers. The methodology of the research is to design and to assamble a line follower robot and perform direct testing of the reliability on the on 6,5m “Ϩ†- shaped tracked. The results show that the stages of the assembling of the line follower robot consist of the installation of each circuit and the installation of the drive system in robot frame. The test results show that the line follower robot is able to pass through the track well with average speed of 0,22 m/sec. Keywords : Design, Line Follower Robot, Microcontrolle
ANALISIS KEKUATAN POROS LANDING GEAR PESAWAT N-219
The aim of this study is to analyze the strength of the shaft of the landing gear aircraft N-219 against the variation of cargo’s weight. The examined object in this study is the landing gear of N-219 aircraft produced by PT Dirgantara Indonesia. The static strength analysis was conducted on the stress and maximum deflection to the shaft of the landing gear N-219 aircraft. The results of this study showed that the variation of cargo’s weight affects the strength of the landing gear shaft where the increase of the cargo’s weight will result in a linear increase of deflection and stress. Finally, the allowed maximum weight of the N-219 aircraft cargo is 2500 kg with the landing gear shaft deflection of 0,00164 meter and the stress of 298 MPa. Simulation in this study was conducted by using ANSYS 2014, where this software provides load, deflection and stress analysis. PREDIKSI KEBUTUHAN ENERGI LISTRIK SULAWESI UTARA MENGGUNAKAN ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK DAN METODE EXPONENTIAL SMOOTHING
To predict the electrical energy need of North Sulawesi for one year ahead requires correct methods. The reliable methods used for the prediction task in this research are Artificial Neural Network and Exponential Smoothing. The prediction results using Artificial Neural Network are 110.38, 112.62, 111.56, 108.05, 107.95, 110.32, 109.90, 110.58, 113.26, 107.11, 115.60, 105.40 GWh. The prediction results using Exponential Smoothing are 112.32, 112.70, 113.07, 113.45, 113.82, 114.19, 114.57, 114.94, 115.32, 115.69, 116.07, 116.44 GWh. ANALISIS KELUHAN PELANGGAN TERHADAP DISTRIBUSI MINYAK PELUMAS DI MANADO
The need of lubricant based on the huge number of users and the significant increase of costumer each year has made lubricant as one of profitable mechanical thing. Quality control has a very important role in maintaining customer’s satisfaction as well. This research aims to analyze the service quality, mainly in distribution process, based on customer’s complaint. Customers were asked to give score on some attributes and fill in a questionnaire about their experience related to various types of complaints. Data taken were then analyzed using AHP method. The results show that “Assurance†has the highest weight score (0.313) and “Tangible†has the lowest score (0.118). The multiplication of weight score and faction resulting “Reliable†as the most critical attribute regarding service quality (0.9583)—close to “Understanding†(0.09567). PERANCANGAN SISTEM KEMUDI GOKAR LISTRIK
The function of steering system is to change the directions of wheel. The purpose  of this design is to be obtained a simple steering system. Beside that, in this work have been determined stresses, they are shear stress due to torsion and normal stress due to axial load and bending. Therefore, the strength of mechanism can be obtained. Based on the calculation, maximum shear stress induce in steering system is 4,11 Pa and maximum normal stress is 0,206 Pa. moreover this design have been obtained steering angle for some values of angle. A gear is one of the important elements for transferring motion (especially rotation) and power or energy in a transmission system between the driver and the object to be driven. Gear manufacturing is quite complicated and complex with a variety of size and accuracy depends on the role of the gear itself in a machine. The use of speadsheet application provides advantages for designers where the design process becomes easier.
