    Object of this study is a 2-ton capacity manual lifting equipment manufactured by students of Mechanical Enginering Departement of Sam Ratulangi University. The purpose of the study is to develop a pneumatically control lifting equipment as an alternative to the manual controlled as a faster alternative in lifting and lowering the arm of the equipment. The results of the study is a new working system, which operates automatically in the commercial vehicle lifting equipment. The time in lifting is 14,866 sec, while in lowering is 0,084 sec.     One of the factor to minimize the total cost is increasing the efficiency staples of copra, to avoid raw materials shortage that will make the production process stopped or the company will paying more for storage when the raw materials is excessive. This research is applying EPQ (Economic Production Quantity) method to determine the quantity and the period of staples ordering in a palm oil industries, using PT. Salim Ivomas Pratama Tbk as a case study. By using EPQ method, the company could anticipating the gradually arrival of raw materials. Financially, EPQ method is more optimal in ordering the raw materials. The calculation resulted, the value of Q0 (order quantity) is 79.539,90 tons and T0 (order period) is 1,29 months.     Conveyor is an auxiliary equipment in a production process. The main component of a chain conveyor is chain . This chain is driven through a sprocket which is connected to an electric motor through a reduction gear. Process of designing a chain conveyor required several parameters that are : the characteristics of the transported material, conveyors geometry, conveyors capacity and conveyor speed. Design resulted in chain dimension and the required motor power. Comparing the design to the existing conveyor as a case of study, it was found that the electric motor used is larger than necessary which in turn that the speed of the chain there can still be improved in order to increase production capacity.     The object of this study  is the production  process of the 2 tonnes  capacity lifting equipment commercial vehicle with carried out in manufacture laboratory of  the University of Sam Ratulangi. The aim of this study is to build the component, measuring the lifter parts’ processing time, and analyzing the stages of the process, and calculating the production process of the 2 tonnes capacity lifting equipment produced in manufacture laboratory the University of Sam Ratulangi. The result obtained is a commercial vehicle lifting equipment unit manually operated that can do a car lifting till 2 tonnes maximum empty heavy vehicle.     Supplies have an important role in every company. Supplies would make the company running well. As well as supplies must be provided continually so that the company can operating well and the consumer demand would be fulfilled.The purpose of this research is to determine the model and to design the supplies of diesel fuel at PT. Sarana Samudera Pacific Bitung. Using the EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) formula could minimize the total cost or the overall cost of supplies at the company.From the calculation of the total cost of supplies using the formula, we got a result that the overall cost is Rp. 2.395.785.138,-. The company’s calculation is Rp. 2.403.022.632,-, which means company can save Rp. 7.237.494. It can be concluded that using EOQ formula can minimize the total cost at PT.     ANALISIS KONSUMSI BAHAN BAKAR MOTOR BENSIN YANG TERPASANG PADA SEPEDA MOTOR SUZUKI SMASH 110CC

    This research aims to determine the fuel consumption of gasoline engine mounted on a 110cc Suzuki Smash. The data taken on the motorcycle in different gear ratios and speed for a travel distance of 2.5 km.Analysis was conducted on gear ratios 2, 3 and 4 at speeds of 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 km / h. Observations and calculations for the arrays of indicate that fuel consumption on gear ratio 2 is 359.2, 410.9, 439.0, 545.9, and 648.9 g / h respectively. At gear ratio 3 is 296.9, 295.8, 408.6, 494.4 and 624.5 g / h respectively. At gear ratio 4 is 201.9, 249.4, 412.0, 330.8 and 538.0 g / h respectively. It is concluded that the higher the speed of the motor, the greater the rate of consumption of fuel.From the observation it was found that the test was performed at the engine rotation of 2136 to 6182 rpm. Results demonstrate that at the speed of 20 km / h to 40 km / h it is more efficient operate with gear ratio 4.Keywords: Fuel Consumption, Gasoline Motor, Suzuki Smash 110cc

    UNJUK KERJA MOTOR SUZUKI SMASH 110 CC DENGAN BAHAN BAKAR KOMBINASI BROWN GAS DAN BENSIN

    One of the alternative fuel mixture that can be used by the gasoline motor is Brown's Gas. The gas is produced from the electrolysis solution of baking soda inside the elektrolizer. Percentage of baking soda solution is 99.45% destilled water and 0.55% baking soda.This research used a Suzuki Smash 110 cc motorcycle. Testing performed with engine speed of 1500, 2000, 2500 rpm. The testing time is 2, 3, 5, 8, and 10 minutes. Observation and calculation showed that the average rate of fuel consumption respectively are 125,7, 176,5, and 243,0 gr/h for gasoline and are 96.4, 121,9, 171,6 gr/h for motor combination brown gas and gasoline. From the above results it’s obtained that the efficient fuel consumption is 171,6 gr/h that is with engine speed 2500 rpm.Linear regression model is y = -5.919 x + 204.7 (R ² = 0.858), while quadratic regression model is y = -2.226 x ² + 20.72 x + 145.5 (R ² = 0.541).     oai:ojs.ejournal.unsrat.ac.id:article/563One solution in utilization of fossil fuel in a motorcycle with gasoline engine is mixing the gasoline with methanol. In this research, a test was conducted on a year 2003 edition Suzuki Smash 110 cc motorcycle to measure is fuel consumption using the methanol gasoline mixture. The methanol used in this research is a traditional Minahasa liquor which is called “Cap Tikusâ€. The traditional liquor then mixed with gasoline with 5, 10, and 15% volume ratio.In this research, it is assumed that the contents of gasoline is octane (C8H18) and that “Cap Tikus†contains 65% methanol (CH3OH) and 35% water (H2O). From the calculations, it is obtained that upper heating values of the mixture fuel are 12.225; 11.775; 11.261; and 10.744 kkal/kg for 0, 5, 10, and 15% volume proportion of “Cap Tikus†respectively. From tests it is obtained that specific fuel consumption values 0,073; 0,076; 0,079; and 0,081kg/kWh for 0, 5, 10, and 15% of mixture.The calculated theorical power using the heating values of the fuel are 0,575; 0,525; 0,475; and 0,425 hp for the mixing fuel with 0, 5, 10, and 15% volume proportion of “Cap Tikusâ€. The result showed that mixing gasoline with methanol up to 15% volume ratio is not increased the power of the engine.Keywords : Suzuki Smash Engine, Methanol, Fuel Consumption

    PERFORMANSI POMPA AIR DAB TYPE DB-125B YANG DIFUNGSIKAN SEBAGAI TURBIN AIR

    The use of water pumps DAB type DB-125 as the impulse turbine functions for Micro Hydro Power Plant Lisrik (PLTMH) is the topic in this research. Water pump is used to suck water and deliver it to a certain height. In this application the water pumps used as turbines where water from a certain height will rotate the impeller pump and produces electricity. The testing is done in the laboratory of mechanical engineering of University of Sam Ratulangi. Turbine is driven by three pumps which are assembled in series and parallel, to get different head and flow (Q). Water flow and load on dinamometer ( ) have been set at the lowest rotation of the load on turbine. For the initial set of water flow Q = 33,5 litres/minute. The results showed that the different H and Q from curve turbine rounds, maximum power is at Q = 40 litres/minute, H = 33,5 m, and n = 910 rp
