    LAJU PENDINGINAN PADA MESIN PENDINGIN MENGGUNAKAN R-12 DAN MC-12

    enMost refrigeration system using synthetic refrigeration R-12, R-22, R-134, and R-600a. Synthetic refrigeration has many good characteristics, among others, not easy to burn, no poisoned, and easy to get. However, synthetic refrigeration has negative effects for environment. It can broke  our ozone layer and make global warming. The using of hydrocarbon as refrigerant is one of the solution to handle these problems. An experiment is done using unit SN 1016-1-149-1 cooler machine in mechanical laboratory in Sam Ratulangi University in Manado. Data is taken after completed  the unit preparation. Analysis is done by comparing the cooling rate beetwen R-12 and MC-12. The average cooling rate of R-12 cooler are and respectively using air and water cooling media. In a serial of three experiments, The average electric current used in the unit are 0,75 A and 0,74 for air and water media respectively using of R-12 and Of MC-12 refrigerant . The average cooling capacity of MC-12 is . Then, faund that MC-12 cooler capacity by air and water media is bigger than R-12 cooler capacity by air and water media.     The aim of this research is to obtain the optimum tensile strenght of rattan fiber composite for different volume fraction of fiber and resin. without treatment, and find result of  fracture at the specimens. Material used in this research is rattan  fiber which have a straight fiber orientation. Different volume fraction without treatment used in this study. The composites was molded with epoxy used as matrix. Tensile test was performed based on ASTM  D638 standard. Maximum tensile test obtained  is 197.505 N / mm at 30% volume fraction of epoxy and 70% fiber, While the optimum water absorption is 2.71 grams of at 90% volume fraction of epoxy and 10% fiber.     ANALISIS KONSUMSI BAHAN BAKAR CAMPURAN BENSIN PREMIUM DENGAN “CAP-TIKUS†PADA SEPEDA MOTOR SUZUKI SMASH 110 CC

    Mixing gasoline (premium) with a "Cap-Tikus" is one solution to reduce the consumption of conventional fuels. In this study, testing was conducted on a Suzuki Smash 110 CC motorcycles made ​​in 2003 to analyze the fuel consumption for the 2.5 km mileage on gear ratio-2, 3, 4, and velocity 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 km / h with volume mixture of 15% "Cap-Tikus" and 75% gasoline. "Cap-Tikus" used is containing 65% - 90% alcohol (ethanol). Trial of using the gasoline mixed with "Cap-Tikus" is fail to start the engine. Replacing “Cap-Tikus†with “Spiritus†successfully run the engine. It is found that the consumption of the mixture fuel is reducing the consumption of gasoline. The most efficient consumption fuel obtained in the 4th gear using the fuel mixtures are 20.43; 28.64; 38.15; 40.50, and 51.20 g / hr respectively for speed 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 km / h.     ANALISIS KONSUMSI BAHAN BAKAR MOTOR BENSIN YANG TERPASANG PADA SEPEDA MOTOR SUZUKI SMASH 110CC YANG DIGUNAKAN PADA JALAN MENANJAK

    This research aims to determine the fuel consumption of gasoline engine mounted on a 110cc Suzuki Smash. The data taken on the motorcycle in different gear ratios and speed for a travel distance of 1.4 km. Analysis was conducted on gear ratios-1, 2 and 3 at speeds of 10, 15, 20, 25,30,35 and 40 km / h. Observations and calculations for the a set of speed indicate that fuel consumption at gear ratio-1 is 539,9, 664,3, 770,1, 927,0, dan 989,8 g / h respectively. At gear ratio-2 is 506,8, 630,7, 730,4, 832,2 dan 982,0 g / h respectively. At gear ratio-3 is 421,7, 502,2, 558,1, 529,5 dan 721,0 g / h respectively. It is concluded that the higher the speed of the motor, the betterr the rate of consumption of fuel. From the observation it was found that the test was performed at the engine rotation range of 3210 to 6030 rpm. Results demonstrate that at the speed of 10 km / h to 40 km / h it is more efficient operate with gear ratio-2. Keywords: Fuel Consumption, Gasoline Motor, Suzuki Smash 110cc

Hoisting equipment is very helpful in car maintenance or repair, the purpose of this study is to measure working time, analyze the cost of the production of a 2 ton car hoisting equipment manufactured by students of mechanical Engineering University of Sam Ratulangi.   From the results of the analysis, prices lifting equipment sales in the commercial vehicle production Mechanical Engineering student Sam Ratulangi University, is Rp 1,388,371 per unit. This shows that the price obtained is still less than the price of one unit of a triple lift lifting equipment types in the market internet, Rp. 1,745,145 per unit

    This study aims to determine the feasibility of operational a of machine tools through the static testing based on the geometric characteristics of the ISO-1710 standard, with a case study on a horizontal milling machine type of UF6N Kunzmann's in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Laboratory of University of Sam Ratulangi (UNSRAT). Testing includes the table alignment, the vertical motion knee alignment, the arbor with table alignment and the deviations of spindle rotation.Test results will be compared with the permitted value according to ISO-1710 standards. The results show that the magnitude of the deviation values ​​obtained from the milling machine is not meet the standard to produce a high accuracy product, but the machine is applicable for practicums of manufacturing process.     SIMULASI PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN FILTER CHEBYSHEV TIPE II PADA MASUKAN SINYAL GETARAN ACAK TERHADAP NILAI RATA-RATA MAGNITUDO

    Filter in this research is interpreted as screening of undesirable frequency component in order to depressed it as small as possible to produce the changes of magnitude of response signal. The filtered vibration signal is in a form of the Random Signal Excitation which is generated in MATLAB Version 6.5. The signal is filtered by using Filter Chebyshev Type II. Simulation conducted repeatedly from 10 to 100 times excitation. Magnitude of Response Filter is obtained after simulation. Result is compared to its initial and expressed in the form of different percentage of magnitude between the mean of Magnitude of Response Filter because of applying Random Excitation Signal to the Excitation of Signal Impact from 10 to 100 times. Maximum different percentage of highest magnitude occurred in the simulation of 10 times excitation (57%). While the Minimum occurred in the simulation of 50 times (32%).     Design need the strength of material information. One information on the mechanical properties of the components is the tensile strength. Results of tensile tests are stress, strain and curveof the material. The construction of a lifting device for commercial vehicle with a capacity of 2 tonnes by students of Mechanical Engineering University of Sam Ratulangi (Unsrat) using allowable strength from specifications of the material. Reanalysis of the material used in the design results tensile strength 57. 081 N/mm2 , were classified as material stress state Fe 490 grade III to limit the allowable tensile stress of 40 to 60 (N/mm2), thereby verifying the basic  information of the design.
