THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PRE-LISTENING ACTIVITIES IN IMPROVING THE LISTENING COMPREHENSION OF GRADE XI STUDENTS OF SMAN 3 PALU
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan kegiatan sebelum menyimak mempunyai efek dalam memperbaiki pemahaman menyimak siswa kelas XI SMAN 3 Palu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi-experimental dengan rancangan non-equivalent kontrol group desain. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah convenience sampling, dimana peneliti secara sengaja memilih kelas IX IPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi dan test. Data dianalisa menggunakan statistik uji-t dan statistik. Berdasarkan hasil test, nilai rata-rata siswa pada kelas eksperimen adalah 88.37, sedangkan nilai rata-rata siswa pada kelas kontrol adalah 79.42. Hasil perbandingan melalui uji-t menunjukan bahwa nilai t-hitung (3.43) lebih tinggi dibandingkan t-tabel (1.99). Nilai rata-rata siswa pada kelas eksperimen meningkat dari 54.86 menjadi 88.3. Selanjutnya, hasil dari observasi menunjukan bahwa sembilan puluh empat persen (94%) siswa berpartisipasi secara aktif selama proses pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil test dan observasi, ditemukan bahwa hipotesa alternatif (Ha) diterima dan Hipotesa nol (Ho) ditolak. Dengan kata lain, penerapan kegiatan sebelum menyimak mempunyai efek dalam memperbaiki pemahaman menyimak siswa kelas XI di SMAN 3 Palu
AN ANALYSIS OF SYNTACTICAL ERRORS MADE BY GRADE XI STUDENTS OF SMA NEGERI 4 PALU IN CONSTRUCTING ENGLISH SIMPLE SENTENCES
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa kesalahan siswa dalam membuat kalimat sederhana Bahasa Inggris. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas sebelas SMA Negeri 4 Palu yang berjumlah 148 siswa. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Data diperoleh berdasarkan tugas yang dikerjakan oleh siswa yaitu membuat kalimat dan menulis essay. Peneliti menemukan beberapa tipe kesalahan yang dibuat oleh siswa, yaitu 12 macam penghilangan,13 macam salah penggunaan,1 macam salah formasi, dan 2 macampenambahan. Setelah menganalisa tipe-tipe kesalahan tersebut, peniliti menemukan keslahan yang paling sering dan pertama dibuat oleh siswa dalam menulis adalah penghilangan (673 atau 66.67%), kedua adalah salah penggunaan (242 atau 23.98%), ketiga adalah salah formasi (53 atau 5.25%), dan kesalahan yang paling sering terjadi terakhir adalah penambahan (41 atau 4.06%). Dari data tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penghilangan merupakan kesalahan yang paling umum yang dibuat oleh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 4 Palu
AN ANALYSIS OF GRAMMAR ERRORS IN WRITING DESCRIPTIVE PARAGRAPH OF GRADE X STUDENTS AT SMA NEGERI MODEL TERPADU MADANI PALU
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan kesalahan tata Bahasa yang umum dilakukan oleh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri Model Terpadu Madani Palu dalam menulis paragraf deskriptif dan untuk mengetahui alasan mendasar dari kesalahan tata bahasa yang muncul di dalam tulisan siswa. Untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian, peneliti menerapkan penelitian descriptive. Sample dari penelitian ini merupakan X6 yang terdiri dari 30 siswa. Sample dipilih mengunakan tehnik purposive sampling. Dalam menganalisis kesalahan tata Bahasa, peneliti mengunakan tehnik paper and pencil method, in-depth interview, dan participant observation. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menemukan bahwa siswa umumnya melakukakan kesalahan tata bahasa didalam emapat jenis. Yaitu selection, omission, addition, dan ordering. Kesalahan selection merupakan kesalan tata bahasa yang paling umum yang siswa lakukan. Terdapat 47.5% dari jumlah keseluruhan kesalahan. Jenis keslahan ini disebakan oleh intralingual. Omission merupakan jenis kesalahan tata bahasa yang kedua yang umum dilakukan siswa. terdapat 32.6% dari total kesalahan. Jenis kesalahan ini disebabkan oleh interlingul dan intralingual. Addition merupakan jenis kesalahan tata bahasa yang ketiga yang umum siswa lakukan. Terdapat 13.7% dari jumlah keseluruhan kesalahan. Jenis kesalahan ini disebabkan oleh intralingual. Oredering merupakan jenis terakhir dari kesalahan tata bahasa yang umumnya dilakukan siswa. Dalam kesalahan jenis ini. terdapat 6.1% dari jumlah keseluruhan kesalahan. Interlingual merupakan sumber kesalahan dari jenis kesalahan ini
IMPROVING VOCABULARY MASTERY OF GRADE VII STUDENTS AT SMP NEGERI 19 PALU THROUGH WORD WALL
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata kelas tujuh siswa di SMPN 19 Palu melalui word wall. Penelitian ini dirancang sebagai penelitian tindakan kelas dan empat tahap penelitian tindakan kelas; perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Siklus 1 terdiri dari tiga pertemuan dan siklus 2 terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari dua puluh siswa. Untuk mengukur penguasaan kosakata, tes individu diberikan. Kriteria keberhasilan individu adalah 72 dan klasikal 75%. Hasil siklus 1 menunjukkan terdapat 12 (60,00%) siswa berhasil dan 8 (40,00%) siswa gagal. Pada siklus 2 terdapat 16 (80,00%) berhasil dan 4 (20,00%) siswa gagal. Penelitian tidak dilanjutkan pada siklus berikutnya, karena kriteria ketuntasan sudah dicapai. Dengan kata lain bahwa permasalahan kosakata siswa dapat diselesaikan dengan menerapkan word wall
IMPLEMENTING CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING TO IMPROVE VOCABULARY AND TO RAISE STUDENTS LEARNING MOTIVATION OF THE SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS AT MTS NEGERI 1 BANGGAI
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui penggunaan metode contextual teaching and learning (CTL) dapat meningkatkan kosakata dan minat belajar pada siswa MTS Negeri 1 Banggai. Desain penelitian ini adalah pre-eksperimen dengan pre test post-tes one group design. Sebanyak 45 orang siswa kelas VII A menjadi sample pada kelas eksperimental dan 45 siswa kelas VII C pada kelas kontrol menjadi sampel dan dipilih menggunakan convenience sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes dan kuisioner. Nilai rata-rata dari tes awal pada kelas eksperimen adalah (50.84) dan nilai rata-rata tes awal dari kelas kontrol adalah (48.24). Sementara, nilai rata-rata tes akhir dari kelas eksperimen yaitu (81.13) dan nilai rata-rata tes akhir kelas kontrol adalah (63.49). Hasil perbandingan t-test menunjukan bahwa nilai t-counted (5.212) lebih besar dari t-table (2.003) pada taraf signifikansi 0.05. Hasil dari kuesioner yang dibagikan kepada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dianalisa menggunakan skala Likert dan dengan teknik persentase. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa 89.65 persen dari siswa di kelas eksperimen berada pada kategori motivasi tinggi dan ini berlawanan dengan kelas kontrol yang hanya 55.72 persen siswa pada kategori motivasi tinggi. Dengan kata lain, hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode CTL meningkatkan kosakata siswa dan minat belajar siswa
ANALISIS KESALAHAN PENGGUNAAN EJAAN DALAM PENYUSUNAN RENCANA PELAKSANAAN PEMBELAJARAN (RPP) GURU SEKOLAH DASAR KECAMATAN ULUJADI
The research problems were (1) what form of spelling errors and punctuation in preparing the lesson plan for elementary school teachers in Ulujadi district?, (2) what the factors cause spelling errors and punctuation in preparing the lesson plan for elementary school teachers in Ulujadi district?. The objective of this research is to describe the form of spelling errors and punctuation and the factors that cause spelling errors and punctuation in preparing the lesson plan for elementary school teachers in Ulujadi district?. This research method was descriptive that explain and present accurate data about spelling errors and punctuation and to provide instructions according to the Indonesian language spelling rules. The data were collected through observation, documentation, and interviews. The results of the research show that the mistakes in the preparation of the lesson plan for elementary school teacher in Ulujadi district are the misuse of capital letters, misuse of small letters, misuse of words, and misuse of punctuation. The causes of spelling error in preparing the lesson plan for elementary school teacher in Ulujadi district are as follow: First, error is caused by a lack of understanding of language rules called competency factors. Second, there is a lack of supervision and correction from the principal about the lesson plan for the teacher. Third, there is a lack of training activities from the education department to elementary school teachers. Fourth, there is a guidebook of lesson plan for elementary school teacher. Fifth, writing is not a priority in preparing the lesson plan, the most important is the content of the lesson plan itself so that the teachers do not pay attention to the writing rules. To achieve spelling usage in preparing the lesson plan, commitment from all parties is needed to make improvements
KOLABORASI PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN ROUND TABLE DAN BROWN TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MENULIS CERPEN SISWA KELAS IX IBNUSINA SMPN MODEL TERPADU MADANI PALU
The ability of writing short story of the eleventh-graders Ibnusina SMP Negeri Model Terpadu Madani Palu can be improved. Problem of this research are: 1) how is the implementation of collaborative steps of round table and brown learning model in improving writing short story ability the eleventh-graders Ibnusina SMP Negeri Model Terpadu Madani Palu? and 2) can the ability of writing short story improved after the collaboration of round table and brown learning model? This research intends to: 1) describe stages of the application of round table and brown learning model in improving writing short story ability the eleventh-graders Ibnusina SMP Negeri Model Terpadu Madani Palu, 2) describe the result of writing short story ability after the application of round table and brown learning model. Data were collected through written test and non test (observation and documentation). Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The result of this research revealed that: 1) the application of round table and brown learning model through several stages, first the researcher plays video of short story watched by students; second, researcher prepares observation sheet of the implementation of writing short story; third, researcher prepares camera for documentation of teachers’ and students’ activities in the learning process. Students’ ability in writing short story improves after conducted stages above. The percentage of improvement is increase in every meeting of Cycle I and Cycle II. Cycle I show 80.18 from 73.51 and improved to 83.88 in Cycle II. Round Table Learning Model and Brown

The main problem in this research is how the use of diction and style of language in Tengku Hanan Attaki religious lecture? This study aims to describe the use of diction and style of language in religious lectures Tengku Hanan Attaki. The type of research used in this study is qualitative research and the method used in this research is descriptive method. Sources of data in this study comes from a video lecture Tengku Hanan Attaki religious residing in social media Youtube. Techniques used in data collection is a technique refer and note. Instruments in this study is a laptop to listen to religious lectures and stationery to record. Data analysis techniques in this study follow three stages, namely (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, and (3) drawing conclusions. In this study found the use of diction and style of language in religious lectures Tengku Hanan Attaki. The use of diction in the religious lecture of Tengku hanan Attaki is divided into two, namely the type of meaning and meaning relation. This type of meaning is divided into thirteen, meaning lexical, grammatical, contextual, referential, nonreferential, denotative, connotative, proverbial, colocative, thematic, common and special word, and progem language. The relation of meaning is divided into two, namely synonym and antonym. The use of language style in the Tengku Hanan Attaki religious lecture is divided into three, namely the style of language comparison, linkage, and repetition. PENERAPAN METODE SQ3R UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN ARTIKEL SISWA KELAS XII TKJ 1 SMKN 1 POSO
The objectives of this research are (1) to describe the application of SQ3R method to improve reading comprehension of class XII TKJ 1 SMKN 1 Poso, (2) to describe the result of SQ3R method to improve reading comprehension of SMKN 1 Poso student's article. The type of this research is classroom action research following Kemmis and Mc model. Taggart, which is carried out cyclically through 4 stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Location of research in class XII TKJ 1 SMKN 1 Poso, research subjects are researchers themselves and students of class XII TKJ 1, amounting to 26 people. The study was conducted in academic year 2017/2018, ie during the month of June to August 2017. Technique of collecting data using test and non test. The reading comprehension test has been adapted to the stages of the SQ3R method, whereas the non-test technique uses an observation sheet and documentation. Data analysis techniques using quantitative and qualitative techniques. To test the validity of the test the researchers used expert judgment and grid reading comprehension tests. As for the validation test sheet validity with member check technique and the grating of the observation sheet. To reveal the results of research the researchers used 3 steps data analysis according to Milles and Hubberman namely: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions and verification data. The result of the research shows that the application of SQ3R method can improve the reading comprehension of the students of class XII TKJ 1 SMKN 1 Poso, this is shown by the students, (1) in the survey stage the students are able to find the outline of the text content and determine the main idea of the paragraph. ) at the question stage the student is able to make a question using the 5W + 1H, (3) principle, at the read stage the student is able to answer the previous question, (4) at the recite stage the student is able to find the important points in the reading and summarize the contents of the article with using their own language, (5), students are able to review the contents of the article by recalling the questions and answers that have been compiled. Stages in the SQ3R method are related to each other. The result of the SQ3R method can improve the learning achievement of students' understanding comprehension, with the following indicators: (1) the reading comprehension value of the students rises from pre-action, cycle I, and Cycle II, (2), the total number of completed students also rises by pre-action, cycle I, and cycle II. The average increase in test results on pre-action 60, 76%, increased by 30.77 in the first cycle to 76.15%, and increased by 46.15% in the second cycle average to 82, 57%, up by 6, 24%
INTERFERENSI BAHASA KAILI KE DALAM BAHASA INDONESIA DI KOMISI PEMILIHAN UMUM (KPU) KABUPATEN SIGI
Research are what is the form of interference Kailinese into Indonesian at General Election Commissions, Sigi regency? And what are the causes of interference Kailinese into Indonesian?. The type of research is qualitative by using descriptive method, recording technique, field notes, observation and interview. Data analysis technique used interactive analysis. The interference of Kailinesse into Indonesian in General Election Commissions involved form and factor causing interference. Researcher found the distribution of interfeence in the field of phonology, morphology, and syntax. Interference phonological forms found additional vocal phoneme /a/i/u/e/o/ at the end of the word, it called the language vocalist and busting phoneme /h/ at the beginning of the word and at the end of the word also have disappearance phoneme /k/p/t/n/ and replacement of the vocal phoneme /e/ to phoneme /a/ and phoneme /i/ to phoneme /e/ in the middle of the word. Inteference morphology include the prefix {mo-} compatible with prefix {ber-} in Indonesia, suffix {i-} compatible woth suffix {kan-} in Indonesian, whereas interference syntactic has found the use of clauses in sentences that deviate from the structure of Indonesian rule. Moreover, factors that affect the occurrence of interference, namely; (1) background speakers, (2) lack of vocabulary, (3) less skillful use of language, (4) the prestige of the source language, and (5) because of habits in the mother tongue
