    Research Problems, (1) how the efforts of cultural observer to defense the Kaili language at Palu? (2) what are the supporting and obstacle factors to defense the Kaili language at Palu? (3) what are the impacts to defense Kaili language at Palu? Objectives of the research was to (1) describe how the efforts of cultural observer to defense the Kaili language at Palu? (2) describe what are the supporting and obstacle factors to defense the Kaili language at Palu? (3) describe what are the impacts to defense Kaili language at Palu? The researcher applied descriptive qualitative by using interview, observation, and documentation in collecting data. The result of data collecting showed the defense of Kaili language at Palu cannot get out from the efforts of cultural observer through literature opuses that use Kaili language and form the artistry institutes orienting to defense Kaili culture. The artistry institutes can create the literature opuses that use Kaili language representing one of form of defender of Kaili language at Palu.     Based on the background of this research, The problem of the study are formulated in the following questions “what is the implementation of a group investigation model can improve learning writing news text of eight grade students at SMPN 12 Sigi and How is the improvement of ability by using  group investigation model to the learning writing news text of eight grade students at SMP N 12 Sigi ? this research aimed to describe the implementation of group investigation model to the larning writing  text of eight grade students at SMPN 12 Sigi and for describing the improvement of ability by using writing news text investigation model of ninth grade students at SMPN 12 Sigi. The kind of this research is clasroom action research that implemented with a cycle. Each of cycle, there are 4 (four) steps research, 1). Planning steps, 2). Action, 3). Observing, and 4). Reflection. The research result found that the assesment of  the news element completeness aspect at the cycle I ( 31,81% ) and cycle II (77,27%). The presentation of appropriateness aspect at the cycle I (68,18%) and cycle II (100%). The Using of sentence aspect at the cycle I (77,27%) and cycle II (77,27%). The using of vocabulary  aspect at the cycle I (63,63%) and cycle II (100%). The interesting of topic aspect at the cycle I (72,72%) and cycle II (90%). The using of accuracy spelling aspect at the cycle I (68,18%) and cycle II (100%). At the cycle I the completeness percentage achieving only (31,81%) and cycle II occur the improvement become (77,27%). The sixth aspect happen improvement from cycle I to cycle II. At the cycle I the average completeness percentage  (7,4) and cycle II occur the imrovement and the completeness average percentage become (8,6).

    EXPLORING TEACHERS’ PERCEPTION ON THEIR PARTICIPATION IN SUBJECT MATTER TEACHER GROUP

    Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui persepsi guru yang ikut dalam MGMP di Kota Palu. Untuk melakukannya, delapan sampel terdiri dari enam guru, satu kepala sekolah dan satu ketua MGMP dipilih. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan fenomenologi sebagai dasar pendekatan penelitian. Untuk memperoleh data, penelitian ini menggunakan interview semi terstruktur secara mendalam untuk mengkaji lebih jauh persepsi guru. Penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa partisipan menganggap partisipasi mereka di MGMP berpengaruh besar terhadap kompetensi mereka, terutama kompetensi profesional. Sebagai akibatnya, mereka menganggap bahwa pengajaran mereka lebih baik daripada sebelum mengikuti MGMP dan kemajuan tersebut berpengaruh positif terhadap motivasi siswa dalam proses belajar. Akan tetapi, partisipan mempercayai bahwa partisipasi mereka tidak berdampak terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Kata kunci: mengeksplorasi, persepsi guru, partisipasi, Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran

    APPLYING CONTEXTUAL PICTURES TO DEVELOP STUDENTS’ WRITING SKILL AT SMA NEGERI 1 BUKO

    Penelitian quasi-eksperimental ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi gambar-gambar kontekstual terhadap pengembangan kemampuan menulis siswa. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Buko. Populasi ini diambil untuk sampel penelitian. Penelitian ini melibatkan 22 siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan 23 siswa pada kelas kontrol yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen utama yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data penelitian adalah test. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan t-test analisis untuk membandingkan skor rata-rata dari kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata 81.8 dari kelas eksperimen lebih besar dari pada skor rata-rata 73,5 dari kelas kontrol. Data penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan rumus t-test. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa nilai t-hitung adalah 4.234. Dengan menerapkan tingkat signifikansi 0.05 dan derajat kebebasan (df) 43, nilai t-table adalah 1.681. Dengan demikian, maka Haditerima karena nilai t-counted 4.234lebih besar dari nilai t-tabel 1.681. Ini berarti bahwa ada pengembangan kemampuan menulis pada siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan aplikasi gambar kontekstual. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan gambar-gambar kontekstual sangat efektif untuk digunakan dalam mengembangkan kemampuan menulis siswa.     Mengeksplorasi Persepsi Guru terhadap Keikutsertaan Mereka dalam Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran. Pemerintah telah melakukan sejumlah upaya untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru seperti memfasilitasi forum MGMP. Akan tetapi, hanya sedikit penelitian dilakukan dalam mengkaji dampak partisipasi guru terhadap kompetensi guru, pembelajaran dan capaian siswa. Oleh karenanya, penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui persepsi guru yang ikut dalam MGMP di kota Palu. Untuk melakukannya, delapan sampel terdiri dari enam guru, satu kepala sekolah dan satu ketua MGMP dipilih. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan fenomenologi sebagai dasar pendekatan penelitian. Untuk memperoleh data, penelitian ini menggunakan interview semi terstruktur secara mendalam untuk mengkaji lebih jauh persepsi guru. Penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa partisipan menganggap partisipasi mereka di MGMP berpengaruh besar terhadap kompetensi mereka, terutama kompetensi profesional.     PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN DALAM MENULIS PUISI MELALUI METODE BENGKEL SASTRA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 14 PALU

    The problem in this research was the students' ability in writing poetry that aimed to describe the level of students ability through the literary workshop method with the stage of pre-writing, whilst-writing, and post-writing by the students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 14 Palu. This research was classroom action research, through this research, observation were conducted in order to enhance the students' ability in writing poetry using literary workshop. The study design used the research design by Kemmis and MC. Tanggart. The research was coducted in 2 cycles covering every cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The indicator of individual criteria of succes was 70% and classical criteria of succes was 75%. The aspects were assessed in writing the poem; object, diction, rhyme, figure of speech and mandate. The research results in the first cycle obtained 43,63% of individual achievement, and the classical achievement was 0%. In the second cycle, there were an increase in the average value of individual students of writing poetry reached 75,45% and 90,90% classical achievements. It could be concluded that learning by using the methods of literary workshop, the students' ability of the grade VIII at SMP Negeri 14 Palu in writing poetry could be improved.     Writing learning in the school of Madrasah Aliyah alkhairat Siniu need to get care of the teacher at the indonesian language subject. when the students faced at the writing learning of argumentation paragraph, the students always gets difficult. Along learning of writing, the students have less to care rules which have been in the writing skills. It was caused the students have weakness in writing skills of the students in writing argumentation paraghraph. The objective of tis research to (I) describe the students ability in writing argumentatin paraghraph at the tenth grade students of Madrasah Aliyah alkhairat Siniu using inquiry learning method. And (2) describe the result in improvement of students ability in writing argumentation paragraph at the tenth grade tudents of Madrasah Aliyah alkhairat Siniu using inquiry learning method. The method of this research which used in this reserch is descriptive method, that is a research method which try to decide which present be ready based on the datas. The design or model of this research is a classroom action research, that is Kemmis model. Which consist of (1) Planning, (2) Action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. Based on the result of reseacrh at he cycle (I), it was about ability of the teacher (researcher) in doing a process of learning at the cycle I in the tenth grade students of Madrasah Aliyah alkhairat Siniu still in the minus category with the result presented 22,57%. At the cycle (II)the resut of teacher ability in doing learning process at the tenth grade students of Madrasah Aliyah alkhairat Siniu can be seen i the very good categorywith the result of prsented 34,08%. Finally, it can be concluded that learning the students with using inquiry strategy can improve students ability in writing argumentation paraghraph at the tenth grade students of Madrasah Aliyah alkhairat Siniu

    IMPLEMENTATION OF CLASSROOM GROUPING IN TEACHING OF WRITING SKILL TO GRADE XI STUDENTS OF MAN 2 MODEL PALU

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan gambaran yang jelas tentang implementasi pengelompokan kelas pada pengajaran keterampilan menulis. Lebih spesifik, penelitian ini untuk memaparkan implementasi kerja kelompok dan pengaruhnya terhadap pencapaian siswa dalam pengajaran keterampilan menulis di MAN 2 Model Palu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sampelnya adalah 1 guru bahasa Inggris MAN 2 Model Palu dan 19 siswa kelas XI Religion 2. Datanya diperoleh dari kuisioner, wawancara, lembar pengamatan, dokumentasi, dan rekaman. Analisis data merupakan proses yang berkesinambungan untuk mengantisipasi adanya data yang berlebihan. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa guru menerapkan kerja kelompok dengan semestinya dan inovatif. Siswa mendapat nilai lebih tinggi ketika mereka menulis dalam kelompok daripada secara individu. Jadi, implementasi pengelompokan kelas dalam pengajaran keterampilan menulis memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap keberhasilan pencapaian nilai keterampilan menulis siswa.     PENERAPAN MEDIA GAMBAR DALAM UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENULIS PANTUN SISWA KELAS IV SD INPRES KALUKUBULA

    There is the objective of this research is to describe the steps of writing a pantun with using picture media of the fourth grade students at SD Inpres Kalukubula. Kind of this research is a classroom action research which adopted by Kurt Lewin Model which developed by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart, it is include 4 steps, (a) planning, (b) Implementing, (c) Observation, and (d) reflection. There are four aspects of writing pantun assesment, hey are, (1) Theme, (2) diction, (3)sampiran and (4) content. The application of learning writing pantun with using picture media is done with identification step of things which it exist at the picture, choosing a words which based on the picture, and arrange the words to be sentences of pantun. The result of analysis at the cycle I that there are six students from the total of the students is 21 students which achieve the individual learning completeness. Individual learning of completeness which decided in the SD Inpres Kalukubula at the indonesian language subject is 70. The table above show that the sum of the students which had the learning completeness is 6 students. It is that the individual learning completeness achieve 28,5%. Whereas the students which not yet achieve learning completeness is 15 students (71,42%). There is the result of analysis at the cycle II that completeness of achievement learning result of the students at the writing pantun learning with using picture media in the cycle II had achieve classical mnimal completeness criteria, it is 90%. Therefore, it can be concluded learning of  writing pantun with using picture media at the cycle II had succes to improve the students ability in writing pantun
