    Kepemimpinan Virtual sebagai Alternatif Mempertahankan Budaya Mutu Pondok Pesantren pada Masa Normalitas Baru Pandemi Covid-19

    This research is a qualitative study that aims to analyze the application of virtual leadership to boarding schools in Indonesia in an effort to maintain a quality culture in the new normality of the Covid-19 pandemic. This study is a literature study that analyzes sources from previous studies on virtual leadership and its relationship to the Covid-19 pandemic. The method of data collection is done in several stages, namely sorting, organizing, and editing. After the data in the form of the documents in question collected then done data analysis by providing interpretation. The results of this study is divided into several section that include: 1) effective leadership in the period and post-Covid-19 pandemic, 2) kyai and its potential to lead a virtual environment, 3) the state and quality of boarding schools after the Covid-19 pandemic.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan kepemimpinan virtual pada lembaga pondok pesantren di Indonesia dalam upayanya mempertahankan budaya mutu di masa normalitas baru pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan dengan menganalisis sumber-sumber dari penelitian-penelitian terdahulu tentang kepemimpinan virtual dan kaitannya dengan masa pandemi Covid-19. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan beberapa tahap yaitu penyortiran, pengorganisasian, dan penyuntingan. Setelah data berupa dokumen-dokumen yang dimaksud terkumpul lalu dilakukan analisis data dengan memberikan interpretasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini terbagi menjadi beberapa bagian, antara lain: 1) kepemimpinan yang efektif pada masa dan pasca pandemi Covid-19, 2) kyai dan potensinya memimpin lingkungan virtual, 3) keadaan dan mutu pondok pesantren pasca pandemi Covid-19

    Development of Islamic Character of Pulo People Through Folklore as Local Wisdom of the Tidung Island Community

    The development of the Islamic character of the Pulo people through the folklore of Panglima Hitam and Raja Tidung as local wisdom of the people of Tidung Island. Tidung Island, which is now a tourist destination, is slowly undergoing changes in the lives of the island's people who were originally a fishing community, now turned into a tourist destination. The shift in function which originally had a fishing tradition turned into a tourist resort that is ready to accommodate the coffers of tourists who come and go to Tidung Island. The existence of Tidung Island is recorded in an oral tradition of folklore that is still known by the people, namely the Panglima Hitam folklore and the story of Raja Tidung. The value of Islamic character as local wisdom is used to read the two folk tales, especially the character development of the younger generation on Tidung Island. The Islamic character of the island community that must be developed includes: (1) moral values ​​to God, (2) moral values ​​to others, and (3) moral values ​​to oneself. These three Islamic characters serve as character models used by the community to develop the potential of the Tidung Island community.Pengembangan  karakter Islam masyarakat Pulo melalui  cerita rakyat Panglima  Hitam dan Raja Tidung sebagai kearifan  lokal masyarakat Pulau Tidung. Pulau Tidung yang kini menjadi tujuan wisata, secara perlahan mengalami perubahan dalam kehidupan masyarakat pulau yang awalnya sebagai masyarakat nelayan,  kini berubah menjadi destinasi  wisata. Pergeseran fungsi yang semula memiliki tradisi nelayan berubah menjadi resort  wisata  yang siap menampung pundi-pundi wisatawan yang datang silih berganti ke Pulau Tidung. Keberadaan Pulau Tidung terekam dalam sebuah tradisi lisan cerita rakyat yang masih dikenal oleh masyarakatnya, yaitu cerita rakyat Panglima Hitam dan cerita Raja Tidung. Nilai karakter Islam sebagai kearifan lokal digunakan membaca kedua cerita rakyat, terutama pengembangan karakter generasi muda di Pulau Tidung. Adapun karakter  Islam masyarakat pulau yang harus dikembangkan meliputi: (1) Nilai akhlak kepada  Allah, (2) Nilai akhlak kepada orang lain, dan (3) nilai akhlak  kepada diri sendiri. Ketiga karakter Islam ini  sebagai model karakter yang dipakai oleh masyarakatnya  untuk  untuk mengembangkan  potensi masyarakat Pulau Tidung

    Corak Moderasi Pesantren di Indonesia: Studi Terhadap Persepsi dan Respon Kyai, Guru dan Santri

    Religious moderation is actually an effort to restore understanding and application of religious teachings that are sincere, friendly, and oriented towards improving the quality of life and humanity. The realization of religious moderation is expected to further strengthen the role of religion as the spirit of civilization. Pesantren as one of the oldest religious educational institutions in Indonesia, from the beginning has played a role in creating Indonesian Islamic civilization with its characteristics that are open, tolerant, and humanist. Thus, pesantren is an Islamic educational institution that has long played a role in mainstreaming moderation in Indonesia. In line with that, this study seeks to dig deeper into the mode of religious moderation that is maintained in the pesantren environment based on the perceptions and roles of the main elements of the pesantren, such as kyai, teachers, and santri. This study uses a qualitative approach by conducting a literature study and documentation of partners which can be used as a valid data source. Theoretically, the mode of religious moderation in pesantren can be seen from theological aspects, sharia, state politics, and relations with others. The results show that the manifestation of religious moderation in the theological aspect which is manifested by the aqidah ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah (aswaja), is related to the problem of human and God relations, the limitations of Mu'min Kafir, and the position of reason and revelation. In the Sharia aspect, religious moderation appears in the acceptance of mu'tabarah schools of jurisprudence, although there are still Shafii schools and reject mixing (talfiiq). In the aspect of state politics, religious moderation of kyai, ustaz, and santri can be seen in their acceptance of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and Pancasila as the basis of the state, and in them against the politicization of religion. As for the relationship with the moderating attitude of pesantren exponents from their acceptance of the concept seen as different attitudes and readiness to blend in without having to negate each other and lose their identity.Moderasi beragama sejatinya adalah upaya untuk mengembalikan pemahaman dan implementasi ajaran agama yang tulus, ramah, dan berorientaasi pada peningkatan kualitas kehidupan dan kemanusiaan. Penginsafan tentang moderasi beragama diharapkan semakin memperkokoh peran agama sebagai spirit peradaban. Pesantren sebagai salah satu lembaga pendidikan keagamaan tertua di Indonesia, sejak awal telah berperan dalam menciptakan peradaban Islam Indonesia dengan karakteristiknya yang terbuka, toleran, dan humanis. Dengan demikian pesantren merupakan lembaga pendidikan Islam yang sejak lama berperan dalam pengarusutamaan moderasi di Indonesia. Sejalan dengan itu, penelitian ini berusaha menggali lebih dalam mengenai corak moderasi beragama yang terpelihara di lingkungan pesantren berdasarkan persepsi dan peran dari elemen-elemen utama pesantren, seperti kyai, guru, dan santri.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan melakukan studi pustaka serta dokumentasi mitra yang dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber data yang valid. Secara teoritis, corak moderasi beragama di pesantren dapat diketahui dari aspek teologis, syariah, politik kenegaraan, dan relasi dengan liyan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manifestasi moderasi beragama dalam aspek teologis dimanifestasikan dengan akidah ahlussunnah wal jamaah (aswaja), terkait masalah relasi manusia dan Tuhan, batasan Mu’min Kafir, dan kedudukan akal dan wahyu. Pada Aspek Syariah moderasi beragama Nampak dalam penerimaan mazhab-mazhab fiqih yang mu’tabarah, meskipun tetap mengedepankan mazhab Syafii dan menolak mixing (talfiiq). Dalam aspek politik kenegaraan moderasi beragama kyai, ustaz, dan santri nampak pada penerimaan mereka terhadap Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI) dan Pancasila sebagai dasar Negara, dan penolakan mereka terhadap politisasi agama. Adapun terkait dengan relasi dengan liyan sikap moderasi eksponen pesantren terlihat dari penerimaan mereka terhadap konsep toleransi sebagai keterbukaan terhadap perbedaan ekpresi beragama dan kesiapan untuk berbaur tanpa harus saling menegasikan dan kehilangan jatidiri

    This study aims to describe the involvement of religious instruments in the dynamics of the 2012 Regional Head Elections for the Regent and Deputy Regent of Purwakarta Regency. This study uses a qualitative method with the dramaturgical approach of Erving Goffman on symbolic interactionism and Max Weber on social action theory. This study indicates that the normative use of religious elements is used as a weapon for candidates as a political commodity to attract mass sympathy and highlight the identity of a particular group. Among the religious issues used in the Pilkada Purwakarta could be the use of religious symbols, statements, figures and places used by the contestants and political constituents in Purwakarta

    Alleviating Al-Qur'an Illiteracy in Public Universities: A Case Study of the Al-Qur'an Reading Guidance Program at Universitas Negeri Malang: Studi Kasus Program Bimbingan Baca al-Qur’an di Universitas Negeri Malang

    The competence of reading the holy book correctly and adequately is the obligation of every religious person. Ironically, many Muslim students do not have adequate skills in reading the Qur'an. Therefore, Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) launched a campaign to be free of Qur'an illiteracy for its students. This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, evaluation, and effectiveness of Qur'an learning at UM and the correlation of Arabic language skills to the ability to read the al-Qur'an. The method used is a mixed-method with an exploratory sequential design. The quantitative data analysis technique used normality test, Wilcoxon signed ranks, d-effect size, and calculation of N-gain value. The results of the study are as follows: (1) learning planning is carried out in a centralized and detailed manner; (2) the implementation of learning adapts to class groupings, and learning steps specified in the Qur'an Reading Guidance curriculum; (3) evaluation of learning is carried out using tashih techniques, post-test, and assessment of learning attitudes; (4) learning effectiveness is in the high category, which is indicated by the d-effect size value of 0.76, and (5) Arabic language ability is found to have a significant correlation with the ability to read the Qur'an. In general, UM is considered successful in reducing the level of Qur'an illiteracy among students.Kemampuan membaca kitab suci dengan baik dan benar merupakan kewajiban setiap insan beragama. Ironisnya, banyak mahasiswa Muslim tidak memiliki kemampuan yang memadai dalam membaca al-Qur’an. Karena itu, Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) mencanangkan kampanye bebas buta aksara al-Qur’an untuk peserta didiknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi, dan efektivitas pembelajaran al-Qur’an di UM, serta korelasi kemampuan bahasa Arab mahasiswa terhadap kemampuannya dalam membaca al-Qur’an. Metode yang digunakan adalah mixed method dengan exploratory sequential design. Teknik analisis data kuantitatif menggunakan uji normalitas, wilcoxon signed ranks, d-effect size, dan perhitungan nilai N-gain. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut: (1) perencanaan pembelajaran dilakukan secara terpusat dan detail; (2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran menyesuaikan dengan pengelompokan kelas dan langkah-langkah pembelajaran yang ditetapkan dalam kurikulum Bimbingan Baca al-Qur’an (BBQ); (3) evaluasi pembelajaran dilakukan dengan teknik tashih, post-test, dan penilaian sikap belajar; (4) efektivitas pembelajaran masuk dalam kategori tinggi, yang ditunjukkan oleh nilai d-effect size sebesar 0,76, dan (5) kemampuan bahasa Arab ditemukan memiliki korelasi yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan membaca al-Qur’an. Secara umum, UM tergolong berhasil menurunkan tingkat kebutaaksaraan al-Qur’an di kalangan mahasiswa

    Living Qur’an as New Market Trends of Islamic Education in Indonesia

    This research reviewed living Al-Qur’an as phenomenon and trend in learning Islamic Education in Indonesia. The causing factor is such as the moral panic of parents about modern-contemporary life. Many parents encourage their children to practice the Al-Qur'an, with the hope that the children will be more careful and fortify themselves from a free life. The panicked moral attitude of these parents is used by Islamic educational institutions as a market to gain capital gains, such as establishing an educational house/center based on living Qur'an learning. Several educational institutions also offer the concept of Islamic Boarding School, Tahfidz Center, and compete to use the Al-Qur'an as their product brand. This literature research used a social phenomenological science approach with the living Quran theory. This research found that 1) the trend of living Qur'an education in Islamic learning in Indonesian Islamic educational institutions was as a social impact of the spread of moral panic, 2) moral panic among parents of students became a new business field for managers of Islamic religious education institutions. 3) Al-Qur’an is a product that has its own market share, and 4) the phenomenon of living al-Quran was as a trend of Islamic education methods in Indonesia

    Management of Material Component Development in Multicultural Islamic Education Curriculum

    This article will analyze and interpret the concepts of the components of the multicultural PAI curriculum, the learning process and management of the development of the components of the multicultural Islamic religious education teaching materials at SMK Nusa Unggul Husada. This research is qualitative. The development model used is the McKenny model which consists of preliminary analysis, planning stages, and evaluation. The research subjects were students of SMK Nusa Unggul Husada. The research instruments are observation sheets, interviews, assessment sheets, evaluation sheets and validation sheets. Furthermore, data processing is carried out with qualitative description. Data were analyzed comprehensively according to the characteristics of qualitative research. The result is that the concept of material components in the multicultural PAI curriculum is a series of activities carried out in the form of compiling and developing content to achieve goals. Multicultural PAI learning at Nusa Unggul Husada Vocational School is focused on understanding multicultural Islamic religious education materials comprehensively and then being applied in a multicultural school environment in terms of language, culture, religion, ethnicity, and even gender diversity. The development of the components of teaching materials in the learning process that has been carried out illustrates the validity of the learning tools.     Leadership Education Based on the Jamaah Concept in Sayyid Qutb’s Tafsir Fî Zhilâl Al-Qur'ân

      The sharp controversy among the scholars regarding the jamaah (congregation) concept has become a more interesting side to finding the answer to the truth. This research focuses on uncovering the congregation concept from interpretations drawn to the contemporary atmosphere and Indonesian climate. The method employed in this research discussion was a research library. The content analysis method was a research method that utilized a set of procedures to draw valid conclusions. This study’s findings included the concept of the understanding congregation, the congregation concept in Tafsir (interpretation) Fî Zhilâl al-Qur'ân, and the congregation concept as one leadership unit. This research conclusion is that the congregation phenomenon, according to Qutb, is not only an obligation for Muslims to uphold it in the world but also something that will impact and determine a person's fate in the hereafter.Kontroversi yang begitu tajam di kalangan ulama berkenaan dengan konsep jamaah menjadi sisi lain yang lebih menarik lagi untuk dicari tahu jawaban kebenarannya. Penelitian ini berfokus pada upaya mengungkap konsep jamaah dari tafsir yang ditarik ke suasana kontemporer dan iklim keIndonesiaan. Metode yang digunakan dalam pembahasan penelitian ini adalah metode library research. Objek penelitian adalah tentang konsep jama’ah. Hasil penelitian ini adalah konsep pengertian Jamaah, konsep jama’ah dalam tafsir Fî Zhilâl al-Qur’ân, serta konsep jamaah sebagai satu kesatuan kepemimpinan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah fenomena jamaah menurut Quthb tidak hanya menjadi kewajiban bagi kaum muslimin untuk meneggakkannya di dunia, akan tetapi juga sesuatu yang akan berdampak dan akan menentukan nasib seseorang di akhirat
