Parental social support and academic self-efficacy among senior high school students during preparation for SBMPTN
This study aims to explore the relationship between parental social support and academic self-efficacy among senior high school students who took cram schools to prepare for State University Joint Entrance Exams (SBMPTN). This was a correlational study with a quantitative approach. The population of the study was the high school students in the city of Bekasi who took cram schools to prepare for SBMPTN. The sample of this study was 100 students derived from the population using purposive sampling technique. The instruments of the study were the parental social support scale and the academic self-efficacy scale. Data were analyzed using correlation analysis technique. The results of the study showed there is a significant relationship between parental social support and academic self-efficacy with the r value 0.624 and the significance value 0.000 (p=0.01). The positive relationship indicates that the higher the parental social support, the higher students’ academic self-efficacy. On the contrary, the lower the parental social support, the lower students’ academic self-efficacy
The Effect of Implementing Mind Mapping in Group Guidance on Students’ Career Planning
This study aims to (i) describe the career planning of the 8th grade students of SMPN 9 Bulukumba before and after being given the mind mapping method in group guidance; (ii) describe the mind mapping technique used in guidance group for career planning of the 8th grade students of SMPN 9 Bulukumba; and (iii) investigate the effect of mind mapping used in guidance group on the career planning of the students of SMPN 9 Bulukumba. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design focusing on nonequivalent control group design. The data were collected using career planning scale and analyzed using the statistic independent samples t-test. The results of the study showed (i) career planning among the 8th grade students of SMPN 9 Bulukumba was low before mind mapping was given in group guidance, but after mind mapping was implemented in group guidance, the significance of the change was considered high and (ii) mind mapping in group guidance affects career planning among the 8th grade students of SMPN 9 Bulukumba
The relationship between emotional intelligence and self-directed learning readiness among students in the faculty of medicine
This study is aimed to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and self-directed learning readiness (SDLR) among students in Faculty of Medicine, University of Nusa Cendana. This analytical observational research implemented cross sectional design with stratified random sampling technique on preclinical medical students at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Nusa Cendana, in the academic years of 2017, 2018, and 2019. A total of 156 respondents which fulfilled the inclusion criteria were recruited in this study by filling questionnaires of Schutte emotional intelegence scale (SEIS) and self-directed learning readiness scale (SDLRS) analyzed using Somer’s d test. The results of the study showed that: (1) there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and SDLR of the students at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Nusa Dua (p<0.05) with strong correlation coefficient (r: 0.534); (2) there were 127 preclinical medical students (81.41%) with a high level of emotional intelligence and 29 preclinical medical students (18.59%) had a moderate level of emotional intelligence, but none of them had a low level of emotional intelligence; and (3) there were 84 preclinical medical students (53.84) who had high level of SDLR and 72 (46.16%) with a moderate level of SDLR, but none of them had a low SDLR level
An analysis on children of prostitute’s confidence and efforts to deal with the problem (a case study at kompleks butung)
The aim of this research was to investigate: (i) the confidence of children of prostitute (COP) at Kompleks Butung such as: prefer being alone, full of doubt, uncompetitive, unsupportive, very sensitive, attention seeker, and afraid of making mistakes. (ii) The causing factors of the COP’s lack of confidence at Kompleks Butung are; (a) Internal Factors such as self-concept, physical condition, and life experience. (b) External Factors such as education, and environment. (iii) The impacts of confidence problem of the COP on ID and IR; (a) Academic Impact such as low grades, (b) Social Impact such as self-withdraw, (c) Personal Impact such as hatred to parents, anxiety, loneliness, depression, and even intention to commit suicide, and (iv) School counselors have done some efforts to solve the problems through: project work, environment acknowledgment, and classical guideline services
The Existence of Turikale Youth Nationalism Character in Mappalette Bola Tradition
Abstract: This article describes how the value of the Mappalette Bola on the behavior of the Turikale youth, the existence of the Mappalette Bola values on the character of the Turikale youth nationalism, and how the Mappalette Bola values on the character of the Turikale youth nationalism are. The study aims to find out how the existence of nationalism is embodied in the tradition of the Mappalette Bola in the Turikale youth. The study is nonemployee research designed with a nondescriptive research method qualitative with the library research. Data collection techniques using library studies. Data analysis involves a number of stages of reading, comparing, classifying primary and secondary data, linking, criticizing the literature, and then creating a review. Based on these data analysis, it comes to the results that (1) The values contained in the Mappalette Bola tradition are sipatokkong which includes sipakatau, sipakakebbi, and sipakalebbi as well as religious values, (2) the existence of the mappalette ball values is still closely held by the Turikale people, especially the young turikale, And (3) the implications of the mappalette ball tradition values have been made by students in one of maros county high schools who graduate by collecting garbage.Keywords: Nasionalism; Mappalette Bola; Turikale Youth Abstrak: Artikel ini menggambarkan bagaimana nilai-nilai tradisi Mappalette Bola pada perilaku Pemuda Turikale, eksistensi nilai-nilai tradisi Mappalette Bola pada karakter nasionalisme Pemuda Turikale, serta bagaimana implikasi nilai-nilai tradisi Mappalette Bola pada karakter nasionalisme Pemuda Turikale. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana eksistensi karakter nasionalisme yang terkandung dalam tradisi Mappalette Bola pada pemuda Turikale. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian non empirik yang didesain dengan metode penelitian descriptive kualitative dengan library research (non-systematic review). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi pustaka. Analisis data dilakukan dengan beberapa tahap yaitu membaca, membandingkan, mengelompokkan data primer dan sekunder, menghubungkan, mengkritisi literatur, lalu membuat narrative review. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data tersebut, maka diperoleh hasil bahwa (1) nilai-nilai yang terdapat dalam tradisi Mappalette Bola ialah sipatokkong yang didalamnya mencakup sipakatau, sipakainge, dan sipakalebbi serta adanya nilai religius, (2) eksistensi nilai-nilai Mappalette Bola masih dipegang erat oleh masyarakat Turikale, khususnya pemuda Turikale, dan (3) implikasi dari nilai-nilai tradisi Mappalette Bola telah dilakukan oleh siswa di salah satu SMA daerah Kabupaten Maros yang melaksanakan kelulusan dengan cara memungut sampah
An inventory of The Personal and Social Competences of School Counsellor Candidates
The purpose of this study is: 1) To find out the overview level of needs for school counsellor's competencies Inventory 2) Develop a competency inventory of BK teacher candidates that is valid, reliable and practical to be used for BK teacher candidates. This research is a research and development model of Borg and Gall by involving 20 prospective BK teachers. The results show that 1) The social competencies of the school counsellor's inventory as an instrument was needed by school counsellors candidates because inventory needed updating in terms of form, content and problem areas as well as statement items by the competencies measured in the Teacher Competency Examination (UKG) assessment. 2) Inventory of social personality competencies of BK teacher candidates developed following the objectives to be achieved because researchers have gone through trial steps in developing an inventory of social personality competencies for BK teacher candidates. The instrument validity value with valid criteria and the reliability test value is in the very reliable category based on the results obtained. As for the school counsellor's practicality test, it was obtained within the practical criteria. So it can be concluded that the inventory with a total of 115 statement declared valid, reliable, and prophecy can be used as an inventory of BK personal candidates' social personality competencies
The effect of gadget use on emotional intelligence, social behavior, and religious behavior of generation z students in muhammadiyah 2 senior high school of yogyakarta
This study is aimed to (1) describe the effect of gadget use on emotional intelligence, (2) describe the effect of gadget use on social behavior, (3) describe the effect of gadget use on students' religious behavior. Quantitative approach was used in this research. The research subjects were collected using the cluster proportional random sampling technique. Data of this study were collected by using techniques using questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed with a simple linear regression test. This study showed that (1) there is a significant effect of gadget use on emotional intelligence, (2) there is a significant effect of gadget use on social behavior, (3) there is a significant effect of gadget use on students' religious behavior.
Barriers to the maturity of student’s career planning as millennial generation
Research aims to examine obstacles found both internally and externally. Method of research using survey method. Research population is an alumnus of study and counseling Program of PGRI Palembang University. Samples were chosen using the Purposif method, which focused on alumni who have not worked after graduating from college. The data collection techniques used are the scale of confusion in choosing a career. The results showed that there were students ' barriers in planning careers with both internal and external factors, but the barriers were dominated by internal factors
The effectiveness of reinforcement sensitivity theory on student motivation through group counseling services
This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of Reinforcement Sensitivity Theory (RST) towards increased motivation to learn students through group counseling services. This research uses quantitative approach method with non-equivalent control group design. The research sample amounted to 14 students who have motivational learning problems that have not been expected. The data collection techniques in this study used scale techniques using purposive sampling. Data analysis techniques using Wilxocon test and Mann-Whitney Test. The results of this research show that Reinforcement Sensitivity Theory (RST) through group counseling services proved to be an effective learning motivation for students
Psychological well-being of ex-drug addicted counselee in post-rehabilitation education
This study aims to analyze the level of psychological well-being of ex-drug addicted counselee in post-rehabilitation education. The study was conducted in 2 communities of post-rehabilitation education providers in Semarang city. The level of psychological well-being of 40 respondents was measured by filling in the 18-item psychological well-being scale developed by Ryff (r = 0.83; v = 0.97). Measurement includes indicators: (1) self-acceptance; (2) positive relationships with others; (3) autonomy; (4) environmental mastery; (5) purpose in life; and (6) personal growth. Hypothesis test results indicate that the level of psychological well-being of ex-drug addicted counselee in post-rehabilitation education is significantly greater or equal to 80 (t = 49,140; sig = 0,000). Based on the results of this study, it is recommended to further researchers to further explore certain differences in the level of psychological well-being of the counselee by the factors of age, demographics, educational background, and length of abstinence. In addition, further studies with a larger number of samples and questionnaire items are needed so that study results can be generalized to a wider population.Ardiantina, D. (2016).
