    The Development of Life Skills Based Career Guidance Module to Improve the Working Interest of Mentally Retarted Students in SMALB

    This study aims to develop a career guidance module based on life skills to increase work interest the mentally retarded students, and it is a Research and Development (R&D) with the Borg and Gall model, which has ten steps and was modified into eight steps. Data collection techniques used interviews and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. The results are: The level of the needs of module obtained from the initial data collection stage, the planning stage showed that teachers of skill subject needed teaching materials in the form of modules to provide life skills-based career guidance according to the conditions, potential and work interests of mentally retarded students; readability test of the initial design of the module was obtained from the development stage of the FGD activity with the results of the good category, and the initial product was continued to the validity test; Validity test conducted by two expert lecturers on materials and media using the Gregory formula showed the very valid validity results and limited trial stage using the content validity test of the Aiken V formula showed the very valid results. The final product is a life skills-based career guidance module to increase work interest in high school mentally retarded students

    Social Support, Social Skills, and Social Adjustment among New Santriwati

    This study aims to examine the relationship between social support, social skills, and social adjustment among new santriwati at Pesantren Bidayatul Hidayah in Mojokerto. This study was a correlational quantitative research. The subjects of this study were new santriwati at Pesantren Bidayatul Hidayah Mojokerto with a total population of 123 santriwati. Data were collected using Social Support Scale, Social Skill Scale, and Social Adjustment Scale with the reliability of 0.798 each. Based on the results of multiple regression analysis of 123 subjects, it was found that there is a relationship between social support, social skills, and social adjustment among new santriwati with the Sig. F count of 35.541 with the level of Sig. F of 0.000. The F count value was greater than the F table of 3.07 and the Sig. F value was lower than 0.05. 35.541 the level of Sig. F of 0.000.     Career decision-making difficulties among socioeconomically disadvantaged students (Bidikmisi Students)

    This study aims to explore the career decision-making difficulties (CDMD) of Bidikmisi students, especially the factors that may cause difficulties, such as parents’ education level and students’ gender. The measuring instrument used was Career Decision-making Difficulties Questionnaire. Random cluster sampling was conducted, and there were 154 Unpad students from four selected faculties.  The CDMD data were analyzed using descriptive and differential tests. The results of the study showed that the majority of Bidikmisi students had moderate CDMD, with the highest difficulty in the Lack of Readiness category.  There was a significant difference in CDMD based on parents’ education level in which individuals with parents with secondary and college levels of education had higher CDMD. There was no significant difference between male and female students regarding CDMD. These findings highlight the importance of career guidance for Bidikmisi students to make appropriate career decisions, mainly those with parents from specific educational background

    Developing islamic religious and moral education academic assessment instrument for students with intellectual disability

    The purpose of this study was to determine the validity and practicality of the newly developed Islamic Religious and Moral Education Education academic assessment instrument for students with intellectual disability at SLBN (State Special School) 1 Makassar). This study was conducted by using research and development model. Research and development is a study aiming to produce a certain product or improve an existing product. The research and development model applied in this study was the one proposed by Borg & Gall. Purposive sampling was implemented to obtain the research subject. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive method. The results of data analysis showed that the average percentage of students’ achievement level is in very practical and very valid category. The conclusion of this study is that the developed academic assessment instrument is feasible to be used as a reference to measure the students with intellectual disability’s independence level development regarding with their ability to cary out their daily worship activities

    Development of a virtual counseling room model to increase student interest in using guidance and counseling services

    The objectives of this study: (1) to describe the need for developing a virtual boarding school room model to attract students' interest in participating in counseling and guidance services, (2) to determine the prototype of a virtual boarding school room model and (3) to determine the validity and practicality of the virtual boarding school room model. This study uses the research and development method (Research & Development) developed by Borg and Gall. Data analysis used quantitative data analysis. The subjects in this study consisted of learning media experts, counseling guidance experts, BK practices and students who were taken using random sampling techniques. The results showed that (1) the development of a virtual counseling room model was needed by BK teachers and students, (2) a prototype virtual counseling room model was a media created using a google slide application that contained several counseling guidance services, (3) a room model Virtual counseling has the value of usability, service, and accuracy so that it is declared valid and practical to be used as media guidance and counseling

    The Development of a Tutorial Video on Cognitive Behavior Modification for School Counselors to Address Anxiety Cases

    This study aims to describe (1) the needs of the tutorial video on Cognitive Behavior Modification (CBM) counseling for the school counselors in Makassar to address student anxiety, (2) the prototype of the CBM tutorial video for the school counselors inMakassar to address student anxiety, and (3) the validity of the CBM tutorial video for the school counselors in Makassar to address student anxiety. This study adopted a research and development design by Borg & Gall (2003). Questionnaires, interviews and scale were used to collect data. The results of the study revealed that (1) the tutorial video on Cognitive Behavior Modification (CBM) counseling was needed by the school counselors in Makassar to address student anxiety, (2) the video consisted of two parts: an overview of the CBM approach and the steps of CBM counseling, and (3) the tutorial video on Cognitive Behavior Modification (CBM) counseling for the school counselors in Makassar to address student anxiety was found to be valid to use

    The correlation between learning approach and learning achievement among medical education students

    This research’s objective is to find the link between learning approach and learning achievement of medical education students at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Nusa Cendana Kupang. This research is an  analytical observational research with cross-sectional design that was conducted on medical education students of Faculty of Medicine, University of Nusa Cendana Kupang. Sample was obtained by proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data was obtained using Revised Study Process Questionnaire 2-Factors (R-SPQ2F) on 160 respondent who met the inclusion criteria. Sample was analyzed bivariately using coefficient contingency statistical test. From the 160 respondents, data shows that the number of students who used the deep approach learning approach is 139 (86,9%) students, number of students who used the surface approach is 21 (13,1%) students. For the various category of learning achievements that the students acquire is commendation category with the total of 121 (75,6%) students, very satisfying category with the total of 39 (24,4%) students, satisfying category with the total of 0 students. Bivariate analysis shows results of p value = 0,631 and r value = 0,038

    The effect of reframing technique on self-awareness on learning of the 7th grade students

    This study is aimed (1) to describe the self-awareness on learning of the 7th grade students, (2) to describe the implementation of technique reframing in affecting the self-awareness on learning of the 7th grade students, and (3) to investigate the effect of reframing technique on self-awarenss on learning of the 7th grade students. Quantitative approach was used in this study by implementing quasi experimental design and using Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design to 24 samples. Data collection techniques applied in this research were self-awareness scale on learning developed by the researcher, observation, and interview. Data analysis technique applied in tis study was independent samples t-test which was conducted through Statistical Product for Service Solustion (SPSS) version 24.0. The study found that (1) the self-awareness on learning of the 7th grade students before the treatment of reframing technique was in low category, while that after the treatment of such technique was in moderate and high categories, (2) the self-awareness on learning of the 7th grade students was increased after the treatment of reframing technique, and (3) reframing technique can increase the self awareness on learning of the 7th grade students

    The relationship between family well being and aggressiveness among the seventh grade students of junior high school

    This research is aimed to determine the relationship between family well being and the students’ aggressiveness. The proposed hypothesis is that there is a negative relationship between family well being and aggressiveness of junior high school students. Quantitative research method with correlational research was used to conduct this study. The sample of this study was 172 students recruited from 338 students in the population by implementing simple random sampling technique. Likert scale model was used as data collection technique to measure the family well being and aggressiveness. Pearson’s Product Moment correlation technique with the help of SPSS 16.0 for Windows was performed to analyze the data. The results showed that there was -0.225 correlation coefficient  with the significance value of 0.001 <0.05, meaning that there is a negative relationship between family well being and aggressiveness among the seventh grade students of a private junior high school in Buduran sub-district. It means that the higher the family well being is, the lower the aggressiveness is and vice versa. Family well being contributes 4.5% to the aggressiveness variable.

    Examining the self-leadership ability of future Guidance and Counselling teachers: which one is better, male-students or female-students ?

    The purpose of this study was to measure the self-leading ability of the future Guidance and Counselling teachers at Sanata Dharma University (USD) Yogyakarta and examine whose self-leadership ability is better, the male-students or the female-students. The subjects of this study were 210 students of study program of Guidance and Counselling USD 2020/2021. The data collection instrument was the Student Self Leadership Ability Scale with a semantic differential model. The data analysis technique applied two methods, namely descriptive category and different test technique t test. The results showed that most of the subjects had achieved a score of self-leadership ability in the high category, but there was no significant difference in the ability of self-leadership in the male-students and the female-students.
