Cyberfeminis: Wajah Baru Pembebasan Diri Kaum Perempuan
Feminists appear to be a movement to reject everything being marginalized, subordinated, and demeaned by dominant cultures, either in politic, economic, culture, or social life. The purpose of this research is to describe new face of the women rebellation. Library research was employed where the data taken from content analysis. The research finding showed that one of the new movements done by feminists in the era of globalization is through the virtual world, the cyber world. This movement became known as cyberfeminists. Its 'cross-boundary nature' which beyond the physical and geographical world as a new social field for feminists to explore new freedoms in term of building their relationships and identities. One of the common movement is by using the publication of short stories and novels published in cyberspace. 'Run Away with You' is one of the short stories reviewed in this study
Pemetaan Pusat Pelayanan Terpadu Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Anak (P2TP2A) Provinsi Sumatera Barat
The Center of Integrated Service for Women and Children Empowerment (P2TP2A) is established by the government based community in order to eliminate the violence towards women and children. It also aims to empower the position of women and children. The purpose of the study is to describe comprehensively the existance of P2TP2A in sub-district, district, city, and province in West Sumatra. Descriptive qualitative research was used where the data taken from questionnaire and in-deepth-interview. The study found that the Center of Integrated Service for Women and Children Empowerment was established by following certain procedure, legality and personnel structure. It also found that the majority of P2TP2A in West Sumatra has insufficient infrastructures. Meanwhile, it is only P2TP2A Limpapeh Rumah Nan Gadang of West Sumatera, and P2TP2A Luhak Nan Tuo Batusangkar has sufficient infrastructures. Many of them were located at the corner of Community Empowerment and Women and Family Planning office (BPMPKB). Every P2TP2A in those district and city have made their programs, but they faced some difficulties in realize them doe to financial problems. The human resources were recruited from SKPD, academician, professional, society figures, LSM who concern on gender meanstreaming. They play the role more on providing the service than giving information and empowerment. The last finding of the study showed that the involvement of local government, Health offices, social services, police, ministry of religion, prosecutors and social services have been effective
Kesehatan Reproduksi Perempuan Rimba: Studi Tentang Kearifan Lokal Perempuan Rimba dalam Memanfaatkan Lingkungan
The aim of this research is to explore how the women of Orang Rimba keep their reproduction system healthy without the help of modern amenities. A qualitative research method was used in this study ehere the data taken from interviews, observation, and documentations. After several interviews, observation and by looking at the documentation, the researcher found that the women of Rimba people uses local wisdom in keeping their reproduction healthy, that is they use natural surroundings in their life in every way, including in keeping their reproduction system healthy. For example during menstruation circle, the women uses special tree bark as a substitute for ordinary sanitary napkins; during their pregnancy; they eat special fruit usually fruit with high acidity that they could found in the forest; they also uses natural way in preventing pregnancy; they also uses several natural plant to prevent pregnancy, such as the women eat turmeric plant and several other plants. During the birthing time, they have special place called “tanoh peranaan” where the women gives birth and no men even their husbands are not allowed to come. But even without modern amenities, these women have good reproduction system. The researcher also found that there are several things that Orang Rimba women do that almost similar with Islamic life, for example they wean their babies until they are two years old and this was also used to prevent pregnancies
Buruh Perempuan di Negeri Perempuan: Studi Kasus Pergeseran Peran Perempuan Minangkabau
The research reveals a shifting paradigm in the role of women in Minangkabau. The society perceived that the women world was still dominated by women, where a few of indigenous women still a shield and place it in the safest spot in the economic filed. It makes the case of marginalization of women’s right becomes a metter that is not relevant to be discussed, but this pradigm could come back in the evalution with the advent of this case study. This research uses historical heuristic method, criticism, interpretation, and historiography). It also describes a shift on the women’s role at Kubang Nan Duo, from the holders of power into centers of production because many asset like lands, have been sold and spout, forcing them to throw them selves in to farm working. This makes the women being undermined from two sides, where indigenous cult as a protector for woman have been cracked by the heat and weathered by rain, while patriarchal culture held them ever after
Perempuan dan Perilaku Kriminalitas: Studi Kritis Peran Stigma Sosial Pada Kasus Residivis Perempuan
Criminality is one of the most andocentric acts (centered on men) based on public view. This perspective binds women to appropriate behaviors for women that are the atributes and behaviors that keep them from violating laws and crimes. Qualitative phenomenology was used in this research where the data taken from interview and observation which involved 5 women prisoners. Hence, when a woman is involved in a crime she will be considered very bad and labeled in ways that are negative and stereotypical. In the analysis of feminist criminology theories criticize that men are actually commit more crimes than women. Unfortunately, the women fall in a crime are caused by various factors. One among factor is the unfair treatment on women. Even in criminal acts women often get layered violence. They are not only judged as perpetrators but also become the victims. The punishment they received were not only in prison but also entail them after leaving the prison. The rejection and negative responses are also delivered from the environment reinforce the negative stigma about themselves. Stigma as criminals, unbelievers, and labeling as prisoners make it is difficult for them to adapt, find work, and become antisocial. The stigma develops along with the process of understanding (interpretation), the definition of criminals, and the differentiation of treatment that society gives to them (discrimination). The negative self-acceptance and self-acceptance became one of the triggers that pushed former female prisoners to repeat their criminal acts (recidivists)
Keterlibatan Perempuan dalam Kepemimpinan Publik: Studi Kepemimpinan Ketua RT Perempuan di Desa Dendun Kepulauan Riau
The trend of the women participation on public leadership shows its limitation in number, even in the modern time, the comparison on the number is still imbalance for many years. This condition mirrors to the number who participate in politic such as parliamentary. To respond to such kind of condition, people in Indonesia try to apply the affirmative action to push the women in taking their part and fill the blank position as the women representation in the particular aspect. Conversely, the number of the women Dendun Village at Mantang District of Riau Province is quantitatively different. In Fact, the number shows the the trends of improvement as there are many of the who run the local competition for Village Office Administrator like neighborhood leader. This fact reveals that, women have been building their awareness in the case of public leadership and play their role as the decision maker. This representation is important as a mean of the women resurrection in finding their self identity as the inseparable part from the prosperous Community Development with gender fairness
Pemberdayaan Lembaga Bundo Kanduang di Nagari Melalui Kebijakan Pembangunan yang Responsif Gender
Minangkabau traditional institutions have sociological and psychological relationship with the local community. In West Sumatra, known as Bundo institutions Kanduang a custom isntitusi driven by women in addressing the problems of households, women and children. Potentially progress or setbacks half of an area determined by the progress and setbacks of women. Various development policies in many areas have yet to put women as subjects of development. Development policies that there is not yet considering the condition of the position and needs of women, both practical and strategic. Many of the problems faced by women in the scope of Bundo Kanduang institution as a result of cultural and structural in society. Bundo institutions Kanduang in Nagari as a base empirically women empowerment development. just a sub-section of institutions that deal with social issues, youth, and women are still the strong gender bias both political elites, government and community leaders. At least the figures of women who are able to act as agents for the empowerment of women in Nagari level
Lahirnya Pergerakan Perempuan Minangkabau Pada Awal Abad XX
This article aims to elaborate the influences of the modernization of education that occurred in Minangkabau since the middle of the 19th century to advance of Minangkabau women in the early 20th century. The progress of Minangkabau women is clear in the birth of educated female figures thatwill become to spearhead the emergence of the Minangkabau women's movement. The opening of women’s schools, publication of women's newspapers, the establishment of women's organizations and associations and the active participation in the politics of the national movement are clear proofs of the size of the Minangkabau women's want to appear on the public spaces they never have before.
Perempuan Memberontak: Perlawanan Perempuan Minangkabau terhadap Kolonialisme Belanda di Sumatera Barat 1908-1942
The women play important position against the Dutch colonialism in West Sumatra. The image of women as a representation of tenderness and squeezes were in different with the condition that they can also be radical. This study examined the involvement of Minangkabau women in their struggle towards the colonialism and the consequences they faced against their resistance. It was found that women have special position in the Indonesian struggle opposing the Dutch colonialism in West Sumatra. The image of women who were closely refers to tenderness and squeezing are much differ from it was in colonial era, that they were hard-hearted and radicalism. By using Historical approach this study found that in the nineteenth century there was almost no resistance to colonization involved the women. It did not happen until the twentieth century where women were involved, in the form of a physical (violent) resistance and with a radical-political path. The average resistance figures were imprisoned or thrown away, but each character carried a different fate, half the loneliness in wasted anguish and the other half get the joys from the public
Buruknya Kualitas Perkawinan Pemicu Kekerasan Seksual: Studi terhadap Pelaku Kekerasan Seksual Anak di Kabupaten Agam
The stalled needs of fulfilling sexual needs for some man who divorced or death divorced with their wives have been believed to be one of the causes of child sex perpetrator to carry out their actions. For men who have a particular social background, the desire tocommit a crime is likely to have a higher chance. This assumption begins with the tendency of men as husbands who are more eager to fulfill their sexual needs that may end positive or negative. But when a man no longer has a place tofulfill his desire, they will divert the purpose of his power to another subject that is considered vulnerable and easy to master. Starting from field research, this research has succeeded to deepen the testimony of three child sex perpetrators who are all domiciled in Agam regency of West Sumatra. The result of exploring the three perpetrators, there are indicators that are interconnected with each other about how they approach the child. Sense of power as an adult male by giving a caring attitude, a sense of security and friendship is aimed to form a circle of power that easily weaken, control and then will attack the child
