    FEMALE STUDENTS ACCESS TO TECHNOLOGY FOR LEARNING AND THE ATTAINMENT OF SDG-5

    This study adopts a quantitative approach for evaluating the access of female students to technology engagements while learning. The population of the study were university undergraduates, while the target population were female students. Therefore, the respondents of the study were female teacher trainees. A questionnaire was designed, which was validated to ensure its appropriateness for use. Also, a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.7 was obtained which revealed that the findings reveal that while showed that the instrument was reliable. Findings revealed that female students were highly engaged in the use of technology for educational purposes. However, ease of use of digital learning platforms, technical support, peer influence, instructor support and accessibility are key factors in their decision to use digital learning platforms for learning. Also, digital learning platforms enhance the students' learning experience, while encouraging self-paced learning among others, which formed the basis of the conclusion of the study. As such, emphasising the need for targeted strategies that foster an inclusive digital environment and bridge the technology access gap remains germane to progressive access

    Violent extremism is no longer carried out by men against women. Now, this violence also involves women as actors, such as in cases of terror against the police and even calls for hatred towards other people or groups. This research aims to analyze the typology of violent extremism to explore the roots of the emergence of violent extremism that occurs in the context of women in Yogyakarta city. This research uses a qualitative approach through observation and interviews to collect data. Data analysis uses reduction, display, analysis, and conclusion.The results of the research show that cross-cultural conflicts between immigrants and native residents cause the three typologies of violent extremism at the micro level. In mezzo, there is fanaticism based on group, culture, or religion. At the macro level, the mobilization of women calls for hatred and rejection of different views and groups (Intolerance). The causes are inherent fanaticism, lack of knowledge about other groups, and low literacy and critical ability to obtain information.     WOMEN'S SOLIDARITY AND STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP: AN EMPOWERMENT MODEL FOR HALAL MENTORS AT LP3H UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA

    This study aims to analyze the practice of empowering women who work as halal assistants at LP3H UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Women's participation and gender equality that places women in a position equal to men are an important part of the success of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program including women's empowerment and economic independence. The method used in this research is field research (faild research) with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation about halal assistance and halal women assistants at LP3H UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The results of this study indicate that in the midst of a patriarchal culture that is still rooted in Indonesian society, women who work as halal assistants are able to survive and there are even practices of women's empowerment, this is indicated by cooperation, collaboration, and even mutual support between female assistants. The formation of an organization/community as a forum for halal assistants is very influential on the productivity of assistance carried out by women. In addition, the factor of strategic positions filled by women both as chairman / management of communities such as Pumikop and Forkom (Communication Forum) UMKM makes women more active and productive in providing assistance to business actor

    SURVIVING STIGMA: EXPLORING THE DOUBLE BURDEN OF WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES AND THEIR COPING MECHANISMS

    Women with disabilities are often victims of discrimination and are even more marginalized compared to men with disabilities. The double burden represents a severe challenge experienced by women with disabilities. This study aims to (1) explore the double burden faced by women with disabilities and (2) identify appropriate coping strategies. The research method employed is a Systematic Literature Review, with women with disabilities as the primary focus. Following the inclusion process and quality appraisal (Appraising the Quality of Studies), a total of 19 studies were reviewed. The findings indicate that (1) the double burden experienced by women with disabilities arises from sociological pressures (family, community, and government policies) and psychological burdens in the form of emotional responses (feelings of worry, loneliness, and self-isolation) triggered by these sociological pressures. (2) The coping strategies that can be employed include emotion-focused coping and problem-focused coping. Another finding highlights the need for further research using quantitative methods to obtain more concrete results regarding the double burden of women with disabilities. The results of this study may serve as a foundation for more in-depth and representative research on the double burden faced by women with disabilities

    Masculinity is the result of gender construction originating from societal culture, where each society has a different culture. So these differences blend and create diverse types of masculinity. This research discusses two types of masculinity, namely soft masculinity and ubersexual. Soft maculinity emerged as a reaction to traditional, rigid masculinity norms. This type of man prioritizes empathy, emotional sensitivity, and also the courage to express his emotions openly. The TikTok content creator represents soft masculinity is Fahmi Nasrulloh who challenges patriarchal norms by showing that men can cook too. Meanwhile, ubersexual desribes men who are intellectual, confident, principled, as seen in Irwan, who is a TikTok content creator in the fields of politics, economis, and business. Through his TikTok content, he voiced his concern about corruption in Indonesia which is increasingly becoming an emergency. This research uses a critical discourse analysis methode with a qualitative approach. This type of research is descriptive, located on the tikTok platform. The results of the research show that the differences between the two types of masculinity lie in the approach to appearance, the values adhered to, behavioral patterns, relationships, and emotional expression. These two types show an evolution in the understanding of the role of men in society, and provide an idea of how a man should behave and interact in his environment.     DA'IYAH AGENCY IN THE ACEH BORDERLANDS: WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT STRATEGIES THROUGH GENDER-RESPONSIVE PREACHING IN GAMPONG JAWA

    This study aims to analyze the role of female religious teachers in addressing women's issues in border areas, with a focus on Gampong Jawa, Kejuruan Muda District, Aceh Tamiang Regency. This area is a strategic border region vulnerable to external cultural influences and marked by various socio-religious issues, such as low Quran literacy, early marriage, and limited understanding among youth regarding Islamic law. The research method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research findings indicate that the presence of female religious educators significantly contributes to enhancing women’s understanding of Islam through Quranic study sessions, Quranic Education Centers, and other religious activities. Da'iyah are able to become figures accepted by the community in fostering the religious education of mothers and children, especially in terms of Quran literacy. Supporting factors include the personality of the da'iyah, the depth of their religious knowledge, as well as community support and the existence of religious study groups. Constraining factors include patriarchal culture, time constraints and mobility limitations of da’iyah, and insufficient oversight from the Islamic Sharia Department. This study emphasizes the importance of optimizing the role of da’iyah in border areas to strengthen Islamic da’wah responsive to women’s issues, as well as the need for sustained structural support from the government and society.

    PROTECTING WIVES' RIGHTS: KYAI HUSEIN MUHAMMAD'S REINTERPRETATION OF SEXUAL OBLIGATIONS IN MARRIAGE

    Islamic texts that talk about fulfilling the obligation to serve husbands for wives are often understood biasedly by couples, and even seem to ignore the protection of wives' reproductive rights. Husbands often do not understand the condition of their wives, which often results in unilateral prosecution of rights by arguing that the wife is a sin if she does not serve her husband, under any circumstances. Several existing texts are used to reinforce this attitude. This is different from Kyai Husein Muhammad, who has another opinion, that the wife has the right to refuse sexual relations. Here it appears as if there is a paradox and conflict in the interpretation of religious texts. This article analyzes Kyai Husein Muhammad's perspective in interpreting religious texts with the aim of providing protection for wives' reproductive rights in the family. This article is the result of normative legal using primary data sources with interviews with Kyai Husein Muhammad and primary legal materials: Kyai Husein Muhammad’s books.This article produces several points: first, Kyai Husein Muhammad's istinbāṭ law regarding the reproductive protection rights of wives which focuses on the hadith of the wife's refusal to have sexual relations with her husband, which needs to be underlined, namely do not stop in a statement, and always ask again in the statement, don't easily satisfied with a statement. Second: Kyai Husein Muhammad's current thoughts about wives being allowed to refuse sexual relations are relevant because they offer protection to the wife's rights in marriage
