Get PDFVisum et repertum (VER) is part of forensic and medico-legal science. VER is a written report by a sworn doctor and has the authority of what he/shehas seen and and found in the evidence presented and conclude the evaluation for the trial process in the investigation to decide the suspect, for the basis ofprosecution, prove that an accused person is guilty, at the level of investigation, the request of VER is the authority of investigator of POLRI (The IndonesianNational Police). VER is prepared by a doctor with a special expertise under oath or medical professional and legal responsibilities and liabilities. Therehas been dualism concerning to the evidence of expert witness. First, an expert witness provides a sworn testimony in the trial as it is explicitly mentionedin article 184 of KUHAP (Code of Criminal Procedure). Second, VER is part of legal means of proof of expert testimony given by a legal medical doctoras stated in 184 KUHAP. The expert testimony in form of VER can be legal means of proof which can be used before the court. It is, however, not alwaysnecessary for prosecutor to use it for the adjudicating criminal case. However, criminal case related to human body, it was found that the prosecutorsmake the judgment based on the VER. The autopsy data of RS Bhayangkara in January to October 2012 showed that there were more male victim (58)compared to female victim (51) .The most common cause of death was persecution (91 ). The Effect of Dates Juice on The Bleeding Time An Experimental Study of Male Wistar Strain Rats that Induced by Aspirin.
Get PDFJuice of dates (Phoenix dactylifera) is widely used to reduce the risk of spontaneous bleeding by shorting the bleeding time, for example on hemorrhargic fever and the consequence of consuming drugs (e.g. aspirin, anti coagulant, anti cancer, diuretic, etc). This study aimed to investigate the effect of dates juice on the bleeding time of male Wistar strain rats that induced by aspirin. This study was experimental research with post test only control group design. In this study, 10 male Wistar strain rats were randomly divided into 2 groups. The first group (positive control) were only treated by aspirin and the second group (treatment group) were treated by aspirin and palm dates juice. Mean of the bleeding time in first group was 42,6 + 11,5 seconds and in second group was 28,0 + 3,0 seconds. Distribution of data was normal but not homogenous, so that data was analyzed by non parametric statistic test Mann-Whitney. The result showed that there was significant difference between the first and the second group. This study concluded that juice of dates affects the bleeding time of male Wistar strain rats that induced by aspirin

Most of these compounds are toxic to our body’s cells. Toxic gases including carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen cyanide(HCN), nitrogen oxides, and volatile chemicals such as nitrosamines, formaldehyde are found in in cigarette smoke. besides toxic compounds, cigarettesmoke also containsfree radicalsincluding peroxynitrite, hydrogen peroxide, and superoxide. These free radicals may accelerate cellular damage due tooxidative stress. Targets od free radical attacks include DNA, protein and lipids. The harmful chemicals in form of gases and volatile substances in cigarettescause multiple genetic mutations. the combination of genetic mutations and DNA damage lead to genetic instability and it may cause cancer. OxidativeDNA damage caused by cigarette smoke can be identified with the presence of 8-oxoguanosine used as one of the biomarkers for oxidative DNA damage.Increased concentration of 8-oxoguanosine in DNA has an important role in carcinogenesis and triggers tumor cells. both active and passive smokers havebeen reported to have an elevated concentration of 8-oxoguanosine in their lung tissue and peripheral leukocytes as well as for passive smokers. Get PDFThe Program to prevent vitamin A deficiency in Indonesia includes the administration of vitamin A for post partum mothers by giving a high dose ofvitamin A (@ 200,000 international standard). However, midwives sometimes do not evaluate and follow up the program implantation to make sure thatall postpartum women receive the capsule. This study was aimed at evaluating the midwives’ attitude and health promotors’ support and the behavior ofmidwives in giving the vitamin A capsule to post partum mothers in integrated health center (puskesmas) in Klaten regency. This was a cross-sectionalstudy among 37 midwives in puskesmas of Klaten. The data was obtained using a structured questionnaire. Univariate analysis used frequency distributionand bivariate using chi square test. Most of the respondents (75.6%) had a good supports (68%), there was a correlation between the attitude and behaviorof midwife in giving the vit A capsule (p=0.002). There was a correlation between the support of health promoters with the behavior of midwives in givingvitamin A capsule to post partum mothers(p=0.004). There was a correlation between the attitude and the behavior of midwife and support of healthpromotors and the behavior of midwives in giving the vitamin A to mother in Klaten regency

Noise is defined by physicist as a voice which is caused by acoustics waves with random intensity and frequency, while according to Indro Sutirto and Jenny Bashiruddin, noise is undesirable sound and in audio logic is pure tone mixture with various frequency. The fact that workers at place with environment like blacksmith, railway maker, and weaver, industry, step by step suffers from deafness after works through years. Problem generated by noise increasing, so protection program of hearing in industry should be done. Therefore, control noise is needed to prevent from deaf in the workplace. ABSTRAK Tuli menurut Indro Indro Soetirto dan Jenny Bashiruddin adalah kehilangan pendengaran oleh karena bising yang sangat dan lama. Bising didefinisikan sebagai suara yang disebabkan oleh getaran akustik dengan berbagai intensitas dan frekuensi, dimana menurut Indro Sutirto dan Jenny Bashiruddin, bising adalah bunyi yang tidak diharapkan. Fakta bahwa pekerja yang berada dalam lingkungan bising seperti tukang pandai besi, pekerja yang bekerja di rel kereta api, industri, sedikit demi sedikit akan mengalami ketulian setelah bekerja selama beberapa tahun. Masalah yang timbul akibat ketulian terus meningkat, jadi program proteksi pekerja yang bekerja di lingkungan bising harus dilakukan, yaitu dengan pembatasan kebisingan

Get PDFBackground: In aging process, decreasing of musculosceletal capabilities will reduce physical activity and excercise, as well as Range Of Motion (ROM). In order to maintain the normality of ROM, joints and muscles should be moved regularly. However many elderly people are still less physically active, due to lack of knowledge, no free time for physical activity, and lack of support from the social environment. This study aimed to determine the correlation of excercise on ROM of knee in the elderly in Pedurungan District, Semarang.Design and Method: Observastional study with a cross sectional design 80 elderly men and women were divided into 2 groups: gymnastics group in the Social Rehabilitation Unit Of Pucang Gading (n=40) and unexcercises group in the Penggaron village (n=40). In both groups, the degree of ROM of knee was assessed using the Goniometer. To evaluate the value of its significance, the data were analyzed using the Mann Withney test followed by Spearmann’s rho test.Result: ROM for gymnastic(exercised group) and unexercised group were 115.50°±11.591°, 95.38°±12.780° respectively with p<0. 001. Resuts showed that doing exercise was useful for maintaining ROM of knee in elderly people. Spearmann’s rho test resulted in a strong correlation between ROM and exercise with r value of 0.652.Conclusion: exercise correlates with ROM of knee in elderly (Sains Medika, 4(1):39-45)
Effect of Ginger Juice Water on Blood Glucose Levels and Histopathology of Pancreatic Beta Cells Experimental Studies on Alloxan Induced Wistar Male Rats
Get PDFBackground: Hyperglycemia is one of the signs of diabetes mellitus, the disease is still being suffered by the people of Indonesia. Oral antidiabetic drugs mostly give unwanted side effects, then the experts developed a system of traditional medicine for diabetes mellitus. The research aimed to determine the effect of ginger juice on blood glucose levels and histopathological of pancreatic beta cells in male wistar rats induced by alloxan.Design and methods: An experimental study with a post-test only control group design, the study subjects white male wistar rats. Rats were divided into 5 groups, each group consisted of 5 rats, the group I was the control group (no treatment), group II is diabetic group (negative control), group III is Ginger + diabetes group, diabetes group is a group IV + Ginger + glibenclamide at a dose of each half, the group is the group of diabetic + V Glibenklamid.Results: The mean blood glucose levels were highest 172.02 ± 21.40 mg / dl is the K II. Lowest mean glucose levels were 112.72 ± 14.49 mg / dl for KV. Score the highest rates of pancreatic beta cell damage that is at the K II, while the lowest in the K V. Conclusion: Ginger Juice effect on blood glucose levels alloxan-induced rats. Ginger juice histopathologic effect on pancreatic beta cells alloxan-induced rats (Sains Medika, 4(2):165-173)
