ANALISIS TOPIK DALAM WACANA DIALOG BAHASA JEPANG
Abstrak Analisis Topik dalam Wacana Dialog Bahasa Jepang. Dalam analisis wacana, terdapat istlah yang dinamakan topik. Topik dapat diidentifikasi pada saat dilakukan analisis wacana dalam rangka memahami konteks yang mendukung wacana tersebut. Dalam percakapan (dialog) sehari-hari, kadang-kadang muncul dua atau lebih topik diskusi yang berbeda sumber dari topik awal peecakapan atau disebut pergesean topik. Fenomena yang menjadi fokus perhatian penelitian ini adalah topik percakapan, struktur percakapan kelompok pedagang berdasarkan topik, dan budaya yang tergambar dalam seleksi topik dan variasi bahasa yang berbeda.Kata kunci: analisis percakapan, topik, perubahan topik, nilai budaya, kesempatan berbicara Abstract Topic Analysis in Japaness Language Conversation Discourse. in the conversation analysis, there is a thing commonly called topic. Topic that can be identified when discourse analysis to understand the context of the discourse that supports it. DEUTSCH ZUM SPASS: MODEL PEMBELAJARAN INOVATIF BAHASA JERMAN
Abstrak Deutsch Zum Spass: Model Pembelajaran Inovatif Bahasa Jerman. Model pembelajaran Deutsch zum Spass merupakan alternatif model pembelajaran inovatif bahasa Jerman yang menyenangkan. Model pembelajaran ini meliputi pembelajaran aktif, kreatif, efektif, kolaboratif, partisipatif, dan menyenangkan. Dalam pembelajaranya, model ini mengintegrasikan semua kompetensi kebahasaan yang meliputi Hoverstehen, Sprechfertigkeit, Leseverstehen, dan Schreibfertigketi kedalam satu kesatuan pembelajaran bahasa Jerman yang utuh. Model ini juga disebut contextual teaching and learning. Tujuan pembelajaran untuk mengetahui tindakan yang telah dilakukan seseorang pengajar dalam satu team teaching sehingga pengajar lainnya dapat melanjutkan materi pembelajaran secara urut dan berkesinambungan. Kolaborasi antarpengajar dapat dipantau melalui buku protokol. Hal ini digunakan untuk refleksi terhadap tindakan yang dilakukan seorang pengajar agar pengajar lainnya dapat menjaga terciptanya suasana pembelajaran yang menyenangkan. Refleksi juga digunakan untuk menentukan langkah pembelajaran berikutnya yang dilakukan oleh pengajar, agar bermanfaat dan dapat mengoptimalkan tercapainya keberhasilan pembelajaran. Materi ajar diunggah ke dalam media belajar yang telah disediakan oleh UNY dengan alamat http://besmart.uny.ac.id/ yang merupakan media e-learning. Deutsch zum Spass mampu menumbuhkan suasaa aktif, kreatif, dan partisipatif pada diri pembelajar, sehingga keefektifan proses belajar mengajar dapat optimal. Dengan demikian, tujuan pembelajaran bahasa Jerman dapat tercapai dengan maksimal. Untuk mengukur penguasaan kompetensi yang dimiliki oleh peserta didik pada keempat keterampilan bahasa Jerman tersebut, dapat dilakukan melalui tes kebahasaan secara online.Kata kunci: model pembelajaran Deutsch zum Spass, pembelajaran inovatif, e-learning Abstract Deutsch Zum Spass: Innovative Teaching Model for Teaching German. It is an alternative teaching model for teaching German which is fun. This teaching model is also an active, creative, effective, collaborative model. It integrates all the language skills, Hoverstehen, Sprechfertigkeit, Leseverstehen, and Schreibfertigketi, into one contextual teaching and learning process. The model aims to find out the actions done by a teacher in one teaching team to facilitate another member of the team to continue the material in a continous and well-structured order. Between-teacher collaboration is recorded through a protocol book, which records the fun class activities of one member to be continued and maintained by other members. The book also records the teachers’ reflective ideas and notes that can be used as points to consider. The teaching materials are provided and uploaded into http://besmart.uny.ac.id/ by UNY. Deutsch zum Spass as a teaching model is able to create active, creative, and participation encouraging atmosphere that allow students to achieve their learning goals. THE DEVELOPMENT OF CLASSROOM POLICIES THROUGH DISCUSSION BETWEEN TEACHERS AND STUDENTS
Abstract This article presented the result in the interview and discussion between teacher and students aimed at revealing students’ perception on the previous course program. Of the interview and discussion, it was observed that the previous program was not conducted optimally in term of knowledge and oral language proficiency development where the students perceived it was very important. In order to bridge the gap, discussion was arranged. As a result, mutual agreement between the teacher and the students was achieved. In order to materialize the goal of learning both the teacher and the students agreed upon: 1) using English as a medium of communication during the learning program, 2) learning activities were conducted through presentation and discussion, 3) it was highly expected that students came to the class on time, tolerance for late comers would only be 10 minutes, 4) it was highly required that students met 75% of attendance at minimum, in order to participate in the final exam, 5) Assignment must be submitted punctually based on the schedule, 6) students were endorsed to actively participate in the learning activities.Keywords: classroom policies, discussion, speaking proficiency, knowledge developmen
KAJIAN KOHESI GRAMATIKAL SUBSTITUSI DAN ELIPSIS DALAM NOVEL “LASKAR PELANGI” KARYA ANDREA HIRATA
Abstract There are several factors that influence a literary work, especially the novel became a best seller beside the content of the story. One of them is the technique of writing. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the aspects of cohesion grammatical substitution and ellipsis in the novel of Laskar Pelangi. The research method is qualitative analysis technique to characterize descriptive presentation of data obtained by the research. The results showed the use of language elements such as words, phrases, clauses, and sentences as part of the referrer two sentences in pairs to determine the cohesive relationship has not been evenly distributed. The percentage of grammatical cohesion in the aspect of substitution which includes (1) the substitution of the noun (replacing objects) as many as 31 pairs of sentences or 24,03%; (2) substitution of verbal (replacement verb) in 1 pairs of sentences of 0,78%; (3) substitution clause (clause replacement), the substitution clause consists of a nominal clause as many as 16 pairs of sentences, or 12,4%, verbal clause as much as 4 pairs of sentences, or 3,1%, adjective clause as much as 8 pairs of sentences, or 6,2%, adverbial substitution as many as 17 pairs of sentences, or 13,2%, as many as 1 pair preposional clause sentences or 0.78%, clause numeral as many as 11 pairs of sentences or 8,53%, and aspects of the ellipsis which include nominal ellipsis (deletion of objects) as many as 25 pairs of sentences or 11,38%, verbal ellipsis as much as 2 pairs of sentences, or 1,55%, and ellipsis clause by as much as 4 pairs of sentences or 3,10%. FONOLOGI BAHASA ABUN DI KABUPATEN TAMBRAUW PROVINSI PAPUA BARAT
AbstractAbun language is a kind of native language in Tambrauw Regency, West Papua Province. This language belongs to group of Non Austronesia language. This study is qualitative one and using descriptive method in order to get complete description of phonology of Abun language. There are three stages in this study. They are data supplying stage, data analysis, and presentation of data analysis result stage. The aim of this study is to describe Abun phonology, especially phonemes in Abun language as well its distribution and phonotactic. The result shows that Abun language has 26 phonemes which is divided into 16 consonant phonemes and 8 vowels phonemes. Furthermore, Abun language has eight diphtongs and fourteen consonant clusters.Keyword: Abun language, phonology, phonemes, diphtong, consonant clusters. AbstrakBahasa Abun merupakan salah satu bahasa daerah yang ada di Kabupaten Tambrauw, Provinsi Papua Barat. Bahasa Abun termasuk dalam kelompok bahasa Non Austronesia. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif, dimaksudkan untuk mendapatkan gambaran lengkap tentang fonologi bahasa Abun. Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga tahapan. Ketiga tahapan itu yakni tahap penyediaan data, tahap penganalisisan, dan tahap penyajian hasil analisis data. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan fonologi bahasa Abun, khususnya fonem-fonem bahasa Abun beserta distribusi dan fonotaktiknya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahasa Abun memiliki 26 fonem yang terdiri atas 16 fonem konsonan dan delapan fonem vokal. Di samping itu, bahasa Abun juga memiliki delapan kelompok deret vokal dan 14 kelompok gugus konsonan. Kata kunci: bahasa Abun, fonologi, fonem, deret, vokal, gugus konsonan
ANALISIS MAKNA “KANYOKU” YANG BERKAITAN DENGAN WARNA: KAJIAN LINGUISTIK KOGNITIF
Abstrak Makna kanyouku atau idiom penting untuk dipahami pembelajar bahasa Jepang, namun penelitian mengenai kanyouku yang khusus berkaitan dengan warna masih terbatas. Penelitian ini menganalisis kankyouku bahasa Jepang yang berkaitan dengan warna menggunakan teori linguistik kognitif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; (1) makna leksikal warna dalam kanyouku diartikan sesuai makna asli warna berdasarkan referensi kamus. Makna idiomatikal warna merupakan makna khusus dan berbeda dari makna leksikal; (2) terdapat hubungan antara makna leksikal dan makna idiomatikal secara metafora 12 kanyouku, dan metonimi 6 kanyouku; (3) Ciri khas makna warna dalam kanyouku yaitu, merah (warna yang tegas, peringatan bahaya, rasa malu), biru (pengganti warna hijau, muda, dan menunjukkan kondisi seseorang melalui ciri-ciri fisiknya), kuning (warna yang terang dan menyilaukan, peringatan keselamatan, usia muda dan kurang berpengalaman), hitam (warna gelap, tindakan yang jahat, penanda kehidupan), putih (warna yang bersih, hal yang benar, hambar, kurang senang), hitam putih (warna yang bertolak belakang, perumpamaan benar atau salah). However, research about kanyouku, which especially relates to the color, is still limited. In this paper, we analyzed Japanese kanyoku using colours based on the theory of cognitive linguistics. The result showed several points: (1) the lexical meaning of color in kanyouku are defined according to the original meaning of color based on the dictionary reference. The idiomatical meaning of color is a particular meaning that appears to be different from the lexical meaning; (2) there are some connections between lexical meaning and idiomatical meaning. There are 12 meanings metaphorically and 6 meaning metonimycally; (3) Characteristic meaning of color in kanyouku is red (bold color, shame, etc.), blue (a substitute for green color, young, etc.), yellow (bright and dazzling color, young age and inexperienced, etc.), black (dark color, sign of life, etc.), white (clear color, tasteless, etc.), and black and white (contrasting color, parable of right and wrong).Keywords: idiom meaning, color, cognitive linguistics, metaphor, metonym
TRADISI LISAN MALE-MALE: NYANYIAN KEMATIAN DALAM MASYARAKAT CIACIA: KAJIAN SOSIOLOGIS DAN UPAYA PEWARISAN
Abstrak Tradisi Lisan Male-Male: Nyayian Kematian dalam Masyarakat Ciacia: Kajian Sosiologis dan upaya Pewarisan. Male-Male merupakan syair yang dinyanyikan sesaat setelah seorang warga yang dianggap sosok sempurna meninggal dunia. Tradisi lisan ini menggambarkan penghargaan masyarakat terhadap sosok sempurna melalui ungkapan kesedihan, kerinduan, ketabahan, dan puji-pujian. Pelaksanaan Male-Male memiliki sejumlah fungsi, baik fungsi pribadi (penutur dan tuan rumah) maupun fungsi bagi masyarakat (warga yang melayat). Bagi penutur dan tuan rumah, tradisi ini berfungsi untuk menghibur, kepedulian sesama, penyebaran nilai-nilai sosial dan agama, prestise, dan mewariskan tradisi. Bagi masyarakat, Male-Male berfungsi sebagai sarana mengingatkan diri akan kematian, memperkokoh keimanan, dan meningkatkan empati, serta solidaritas sesama. Diperlukan upaya pewarisan dalam menjaga keberlanjutan tradisi ini. Pewamisan formal yakni melalui sekolah, sedangkan pewarisan informal melalui penguatan lembaga adat.Kata kunci: Tradisi Lisan, Male-Male, Sosiologis, dan Pewarisan Abstract Oral Tradition of Male-Male: Death Anthem Ciacia: Sosiological Studies and an Effort to Pass It On to the next Generation. Male-Male is lyrics sung upon the death of a member of the society who is considered a perfect person. This oral tradition shows the society appreciation towards the person through the expression of sadness, longing, partience and praises. Male-Male serves various functions; both private functions (the singer and host), and societal function (the guests). For th singer and the host, this tradition serves as consolation, caring towards other members, dissemination of social values and religion, prestige, and passing on a tradition. For the society, Male-Male functions as a self remainder of death, strengthening faith, increasing empathy and solidarity. Efforts to guarantee the continuity of this tradition by the next generation are required. LINGUISTIC ETIQUETTE IN INSTANT MESSAGING TEXT-BASED COMMUNICATION IN WRITING CLASS
Abstrak Norma Linguistik dalam Komunikasi Berbasis Pesan Pendek pada Kelas Menulis. Komunikasi Instant Messaging (Pesan Singkat) berbasis teks diperkaya oleh fitur linguistik, seperti pemendekan teks, gerak tubuh, isyarat intonasi, though-string, dan isyarat backchannel. Kemudian, penggunaan fitur linguistik ini membentuk strategi kesantunan yang sangat perlu untuk dijaga dalam rangka mencipakan komunikasi yang harmonis. Lebih jauh lagi, metode ini untuk mencapai norma linguistik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan melakukan pendekatan kualitatif dimana subjeknya adalah mahasiswa jurusan bahasa Inggris dalam kelas menulis. Data tersebut kemudian dianalisis berdasarkan teori fitur linguidstik dalam Instant Messaging, strategi kesantunan, dan etika linguistik. Analisis penelitian ini didukung oleh teknik wawancara sebagai data triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa siswa cenderung menggunakan penyingkatan teks yang mengarahkan mereka untuk menerapkan strategi bald-on-record dan menunjukan bahwa mereka cenderung menghasilkan tingkat kalimat beretika rendah dan ditandai sebagai ungkapan kurang sopan. Akhirnya, dari hasil penelitian ini di harapkan bahwa pengajaran norma linguistik dapat diberikan kepada para siswa.Kata kunci: fitur linguistik, komunikasi pesan singkat, norma linguistik Abstract Linguistic Etiquette on Instant Messaging Text-Based Communication In Writing Class. Instant Messaging text-based communication is enriched by the linguistic features, such as textual shortening, gestures, itention cues, though-string, and backchannel cause. Then, the use of these linguistic features form the strategy of politeness which is very needed to be kept in order to create harmonious communication. Furthermore, it is the method to achieve the linguistic etiquette. This research is conducted by using qualitative approach in which the subjects are the English department students in writing class. Then the data are analyzed based on the theory of linguistic features in Instant Messaging, politeness strategies, and linguistic etiquette. The analysis is supported by interview method as the triangulation data. The result shows that students tend to use textual shortening which leads them to apply bald-on-record strategy and it indicates that they tend to produce low etiquette sentences level and marked as the impolite highlighed phrase. Finally, it is hoped that the teaching of linguistic etiquette can be given to the students.Keywords: linguistic features, instant messaging communication, linguistic etiquett
KABA: CERITA KLASIK YANG MENGANDUNG KEKELIRUAN DENGAN TOLOK UKUR ABS-SBK
Abstrak Kaba: Cerita Klasik Yang Mengandung Kekeliruan dengan Tolok Ukur ABS-SBK. Kajian ini menyajikan Kaba, sebuah cerita rakyat di masyarakat Minangkabau yang sudah ditulis dalam bentuk buku. Kaba biasanya disampaikan oleh seorang pencerita dengan diiringi musik sebagai pengantar. Banyak cerita kaba yang masih diakui dan dikenal keberadaannya di masyarakat Minangkabau, namun dalam kajian ini hanya disajikan dua cerita kaba: (1) Magek Manandin dan (2) Anggun Nan Tongga. Latar kedua cerita tersebut berisi larangan perjudian dengan mengikuti ketentuan ajaran Islam. Dalam Anggun Nan Tongga dikisahkan tentang syirik (menyekutukan Allah) yang dikecam dalam Islam. Kisah ini tidak dikenal baik karena bertentangan dengan filsafat hidup masyarakat Minangkabau: adat atau tradisi berdasarkan hukum Islam, hukum Islam berdasarkan Al-Quran, Hukum Islam memandu adat atau tradisi. Filosofi ini menjadi kesepakatan masyarakat Minangkabau dan dilarang diubah hingga kapan pun. Sayangnya, dalam kedua cerita Kaba ini, kisah tentang perjudian dan keyirikan dianggap sebagai sebuah kebenaran meskipun dalam beberapa ayat Al-Quran dijelaskan sebagai sebuah pelanggaran (penyimpangan). Kata Kunci: kaba, adat, syarak, Minangkabau, syirik, perjudian Abstract Kaba: Deviations of Oral Classic Story with ABS-SBK Rules. This study discusses kaba, the oral classic story in Minangkabau society that has been written as the book. The kaba is usually told by the story tellers accompanied by he music instruments. Many kabas exist in the Minangkabau community, but in this study I only discuss two kabas (1) Magek Manandin and (2) Anggun Nan Tongga. Based on both kabas, I found that the gambling forbidden by Islam as if allowable. Within Anggun Nan Tongga, there are many discourses which are syirik (do worship other than Allah) that is slammed by Islam. These discourses should have not existed because they oppose to the philosophy of life in Minangkabau: custom/tradition founded upon Islamic law, Islamic law is founded upon the Qur’an, Islamic law dictates customs/traditions. This philosophy as the agreement among Minangkabau people is forbidden to change forever. Ufortunately, in these two kabas, the discourses about the gambling and kesyirikan are regarded as if he truth even though so many verses in the Al-Quran explain about these deviations. CULTURE CONTENT IN CREATIVE WRITING PRODUCT IN ENGLISH LEARNING
Abstrak Muatan Budaya dalam Produk Menulis Kreatif dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas muatan budaya dalam produk menulis kreatif dalam pemahaman bagaimana budaya lokal dapat dipromosikan melalui menulis kreatif. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi unsur-unsur yang berpengaruh dalam proses penulisan kreatif hingga menjadi sebuah karya sastra sebagai sebuah karya utama. Metode penelitian ini berupa desain kualitatif dalam menjelaskan wacana, penelitian kepustakaan dalam mengumpulkan data, dan pendekatan kasual dalam menjawab pertanyaan penelitian yaitu bagaimana dan mengapa menulis kreatif dapat mempromosikan budaya lokal. Analisis unit meliputi faktor dalam unsur-unsur yang membangun karya sastra sebagai produk dari menulis kreatif yang dilakukan oleh penulis. Menulis adalah betuk kebebasan pribadi. Hal ini membebaskan penulis dari identitas massa yang dia lihat di sekitarnya. Pada akhirnya, ia akan menulis tidak untuk menjadi pahlawan penjahat bagi sebagian orang di suatu budaya tetapi terutama untuk menyelamatkan dirinya sendiri, untuk bertahan hidup sebagai individu. Rangkaian analisis dilakukan untuk mendapatkan penjelasan bagaimana budaya lokal dapat dipromosikan melalui menulis kreatif didasarkan pada dua subjek, yaitu penulis sebagai pencipta tulisan kreatif dan karya sastra sebagai produk dari menulis kreatif.Kata kunci: revelancy, culture, creative writing, literary work, author Abstract Culture Content in Creative Writing Product in English Learning. This study aims to discuss culture content in creative writing product as an understanding how local cultures can be promoted through creative writing. The study explores influencing elements in creative writing process up to be a literary work as a masterpiece. Methods of the study consist of qualitative design in explaining discourse, library research in collecting data, and casual approach in answering the problem statement that is how and why creative writing can promote local culture. Units of analysis cover the factors in the elements building the literary work as the product of creative writing conducted by author. Writing is a form of personal freedom. It frees the author from the mass identity he or she sees all around. In the end, he or she will write not to be outlaw hero of some under culture but mainly to save him or herself, to survive as individuals. The work is directly or indirectly related to the universe inclusive of man, material things, events and ideas. The reader somes as the final element.
