LEKSIKON MAKANAN TRADISIONAL DALAM BAHASA JAWA SEBAGAI CERMINAN KEARIFAN LOKAL MASYARAKAT JAWA
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskrisikan leksikon MT berbahasa Jawa pada masyarakat desa Tanjungrejo. Penelitian ini berpijak pada teori (:hipotesis) relatifitas bahasa dan pemenuhan research gap tentang kajian makanan yang selama ini hanya dikaji dari aspek unsur (:komponen) kimiawi semata, seperti kandungan nutrisi, gizi, dan senyawa kimia lainnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan perpaduan metode linguistik dan antropologi. Metode linguistik berperan untuk mencari dan menginventarisasi leksikon berbahasa Jawa berdasarkan analisis lingual, sedangkan metode antropologi berperan untuk mengklasifikasikan data lingual berdasarkan ranah dan domain. Dari analisis ranah dan domain akan ditemukan tema-tema budaya yang secara implisit menggambarkan seperangkat manah kolektif (collective mind) masyarkat Jawa yang tersimbolisasi dan terekspresi dalam bentuk leksikon makanan tradisional. Manah kolektif masyarakat Jawa terejawantahkan dalam sikap, prilaku dan tata nilai serta norma yang berlaku dalam suatu masyarakat dalam wujud kearifan lokal
KEKUATAN TOKOH PEREMPUAN DALAM NOVEL RATU KALINYAMAT KARYA MURTADHO HADI
Ratu Kalinyamat merupakan seorang pemimpin di kerajaan Jepara. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk kekuatan perempuan bernama Ratu Kalinyamat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Pendeskripsian meliputi catatan tentang bentuk-bentuk kekuatan tokoh perempuan dalam novel Ratu Kalinyamat karya Murtadho Hadi. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah novel Ratu Kalinyamat karya Murtadho Hadi. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini berupa hasil telaah dokumen novel Ratu Kalinyamat karya Murtadho Hadi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik noninteraktif. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis interaktif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah penggambaran tokoh Ratu Kalinyamat yang mempunyai kekuatan, baik itu kekuatan secara fisik maupun kekuatan non fisik. Secara fisik, tokoh Ratu Kalinyamat dapat digambarkan melalui kekuatan dalam menguasai ilmu silat untuk menumpas kejahatan dan ketidakadilan yang dialami oleh rakyat. Kekuatan non fisik Ratu Kalinyamat digambarkan melalui tindakan-tindakan yang dilakukannya, antara lain (1) kekuatan untuk menentukan pendamping hidup sendiri, (2) kekuatan memendam ego perasaan, (3) kekuatan berkomunikasi dengan orang lain, dan (4) kekuatan untuk menjadi pemimpin
TRANSFORMATION OF A NOVEL MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS INTO ITS FILM ADAPTATION USING ECRANIZATION STUDY
The objectives of this research are to determine and analyze the ecranization process on the characters in novels and its film adaptation. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The importance of this research can give contribution for other researchers who want to conduct the research about ecranization processes such as addition, reduction and variation of change in terms of plot, character and setting. The research results in the ecranization process on the character occurs reduction, addition and variation of change. The reduction in both novels and films occurs because the duration of the film cannot be long, unlike in a novel with a long duration the film reduced characters, although undergo the reduction but does not omit or change the main of the story. The addition both novels and the film added characters to the film because the director wanted to give a creative impression on some scenes in the film and not monotonous as in the novel. The variation of change both novels and films occurred by the characters that were replaced because the director wanted to make a difference between the novel and the film and also variation of change in the character did not change the main storyline of the novel and the film
PRE-SERVICE ENGLISH TEACHERS’ PERSPECTIVES TOWARDS TEACHER PROFESSIONALISM: A NARRATIVE INQUIRY
Since 2018, there are 2.449 pre-service teachers (PSTs) prepared to be professional teachers. In Indonesia, those PSTs are enrolled in the professional development program called PPG. To become a teacher, they have to obey teacher professionalism regulated in the Law Number 14 Year 2005 explaining, among others, that teacher roles, teacher competencies, and teacher professional development programs are the important aspects in determining teacher professionalism. This research aims to know their perspectives towards teacher professionalism. The method used was the qualitative research method and a narrative inquiry research design. The subjects were ten pre-service English teachers who have different background of studies, experiences, and even interests in becoming teachers. An adapted semi-structured interview guideline from Yuwono (2008) and FGD guideline developed from 4 previous studies and the Law Number 14 Year 2005 were employed to collect the data. To avoid bias data, triangulation of source and methodology was conducted. The results show that the PSTs thought that it has to be more flexible and practical. They also revealed that teacher roles, teacher competencies and teacher professional development program are the determiners of teacher professionalism as what is explained in the law. However, they considered that teacher roles can be supportive aspect towards teacher competencies performed in the classroom. Thus, teacher competencies are the most dominant factor that can influence and determine teacher professionalism. Further, professional teacher certification consisting various professional development programs is needed to improve their competencies.
INTERTEKSTUALITAS JAKARTA SEBAGAI RUANG URBAN DALAM ANTOLOGI ESAI TIADA OJEK DI PARIS
As a metropolitan city, Jakarta is growing rapidly both physically and demographically. Jakarta's socio-economic dynamics also show significant developments over time. In an essay titled Tiada Ojek di Paris, Seno Gumira Ajidarma discusses Jakarta as an urban space that is filled with modern human problems. This paper aims to show the intertextuality that exists in the collection of essays, as well as the intertextuality resulting from the mention of various other texts in the work. Lucien Goldmann's genetic structuralism approach, Julia Kristeva's intertextuality theory, and the concept of the production of space from Henri Lefebvre are used as analytical frameworks. Analysis of the text structure shows the identification of Jakarta as a problematic urban space and close to everyday life reality. This was told by the narrator as well as the focalizer from an academic perspective, according to the background of the author who is a writer as well as an academic. The intertextual relations that are built from a series of texts that exist in Tiada Ojek di Paris represent the reflection, criticism, and dominant discourse that produces social spaces in urban Jakarta. Meanwhile, the intertextuality that results from the mention of various other texts in the anthology of essays confirms the position of the writer as a writer and academic in constructing arguments
TURNITIN WASHBACK EFFECT: EFL STUDENTS’ METHODS OF AVOIDING PLAGIARISM ON ACADEMIC WRITING
Academic dishonesty is a major issue in the current educational problem, especially in academic writing. One of the most crucial practices of academic dishonesty is plagiarism. In order to prevent it, many universities worldwide use Turnitin as one of the plagiarism detection software for the solution to fighting plagiarism. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the methods used by English as Foreign Language (EFL) students in avoiding plagiarism on their academic writing. A case study at a university in Indonesia was conducted. Six postgraduate students of English Education major were chosen as the participants to be interviewed regarding the utilization of Turnitin. From the students’ responses, in avoiding plagiarism, they get the idea to write from observing their surroundings, following their passion and reading a lot. Moreover, in the process of writing academically from sources, they also employ patchwriting, citing the sources correctly, self-reading, re-checking the sources, checking to other plagiarism detection software and learning about Turnitin. However, in order to decrease the similarity percentage of their papers, they were also deleting the similar-detected part and even changed the paper. Therefore, it is recommended for the students, teachers, and institutions to concern more on how to write from sources as the part of learning to write rather than rely too much on the originality report from Turnitin
PENGEMBANGAN MODUL SINTAKSIS BERMODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING UNTUK MAHASISWA PENDIDIKAN BAHASA INDONESIA
This study aims to (1) describe the process of syntax module development with the discovery learning model, and (2) describe the quality of a syntax module with the discovery learning models on a syntax material. This development model uses the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). The results of this study are (1) the process of the syntax module development designed through five stages, namely analysis, design, development, application, and evaluation; (2) the quality of the syntax module tested through the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The validity data results are obtained from the expert validator assessment is of category very valid. The effectiveness data of student activities is of category good, the activity of the lecturers is of category very good, and the completeness of student learning is complete. The practicality data obtained from the assessment of the implementation of RPS is of category very good, student responses, and lecturer responses are of category positive
SYMBOLS OF THE DEATHLY HALLOWS IN J.K. ROWLING’S “HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS”
This research aimed to describe what the Deathly Hallows symbolized in J.K. Rowling’s “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”. This was a qualitative content analysis with hermeneutic approach. The primary data was from the novel of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The results of this research were the Deathly Hallows symbolized the thirst of the greatest power which could make the owner immortal, but for Harry Potter they symbolized a test, which tested his mission to defeat Voldemort. The Hallows themselves consisted of three objects which were the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone, and the Invisibility Cloak. Each of the Hallows also symbolized different things. The Elder Wand symbolized a wizard’s desire for power, the Resurrection Stone symbolized deep longing towards the loved one who had died, and the Invisibility Cloak symbolized protection
PRAKTIKALITAS MATERI AJAR BASIC ENGLISH GRAMMAR BERBASIS MULTIMEDIA PADA TINGKAT PERGURUAN TINGGI
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan praktikalitas materi ajar Basic English Grammar Berbasis Multimedia Interaktif yang telah dikembangkan dan dapat diakses melalui http://thetiarina.com/e-tiarina/. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif dengan melibatkan 3 orang mahasiswa untuk uji individu dan 27 orang mahasiswa untuk uji kelompok kecil. Temuan penelitian ini adalah (1) berdasarkan uji individu, kualitas desain pembelajaran dan tampilan visual Materi Ajar Basic Grammar tergolong baik (85,47 dan 83,33, dan; (2) berdasarkan uji kelompok kecil, kualitas desain pembelajaran dan tampilan visual draft Materi Ajar Basic Grammar juga tergolong baik (84,26 dan 87,85), materi ajar ini mudah digunakan (81,64) dan organisasi materi ajar ini mudah dipahami (80,35)
PENGARUH PROSEDUR TERHADAP KEAKURATAN PENERJEMAHAN TEKS BERMUATAN IDEOLOGI BUDAYA DALAM ROMAN SITTI NURBAYA KE DALAM BAHASA INGGRIS
Artikel ini mengungkapkan pengaruh prosedur penerjemahan terhadap keakuratan terjemahan Bahasa Inggris novel Sitti Nurbaya. Novel ini sendiri merupakan sebuah karya sastra lama yang memuat potret penjajahan Belanda sehingga novel ini tentunya sarat akan Ideologi. Lebih lanjut Ideologi yang akan coba dianalisis adalah penggalan-penggalan teks yang memuat Klasifikasi Ideologi Budaya oleh Yasnur Asri yang ada dalam novel tersebut. Klasifikasi tersebut tidak ada bedanya dengan dua kelompok besar ideologi kolonialisme dan postkolonialisme hanya saja ini merupakan penjabaran yang lebih spesifik tentang kedua kubu ideologi tersebut. Belanda di sini hadir sebagai potret wajah dari kolonial dan tokoh-tokoh lainnya yang pro belanda dan pihak-pihak yang kontra maka merupakan potret dari poskolonialisme. Hasil dari penelitian ini hanya memasukkan 5 dari 6 jenis klasifikasi ideologi kultural yang dinyatakan Yasnur Asri karena salah satu poin tersebut telah terwakilkan dalam poin lainnya. Metode yang diterapkan adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengamatan dan pencatatan lalu untuk kemudian dianalisis juga. Untuk Prosedur yang diterapkan dari beberapa sampel data yang dimasukkan menunjukkan prosedur dengan frekuensi paling banyak adalah pergeseran, kesepadanan dan sinonim sementara prosedur dengan frekuensi rendah adalah modulasi, pengurangan dan pemindahan. Keakuratan yang muncul dari hasil penggunaan prosedur-prosedur tersebut menunjukkan mayoritas akurat
