    WACANA OPINI PEOPLE POWER, AKHIRNYA AKAN MENCARI LEGITIMASI KONTITUSIONAL (PENDEKATAN ANALISIS WACANA KRITIS VAN DIJK)

    The phenomenal discourse on People Power after Pemilu 2019 is an opinion that was initiated by a central figure in Indonesia, namely Amien Rais. This discourse invited many responses, one of which was Yusril Ihza Mahendra. Yusril gave his argument about various complicated situations and the risk of governance under the umbrella of provocation of people power. The problem of this research is how is the structure of the text and the social context that builds Yusril's opinion on the discourse of people power? This research includes descriptive qualitative research. The approach used is the critical discourse analysis model Teun A. Van Dijk. The data analysis method used is the equivalent and contextual method. Data presentation is done informally. Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded that: (1) the structure of the text describes semantic, syntactic, and stylistic aspects; while (2) the social context that builds the discourse of People Power is the power and access that the author has

    This study aims to find reference grammatical cohesion forms used to construct narrative discourse. This research method is a descriptive method with qualitative research. Based on the results of data analysis it was found that the reference grammatical forms of cohesion found in the March 2015 edition of Kompas Sunday's short story collection included personal, demonstrative, and comparative references. The persona reference found is person reference I consists of aku, saya, ku-, -ku, kita, and kami. The persona II reference consists of kamu, kau, -mu, and kalian. As well as reference persona III consists of ia, dia, -nya, beliau, and mereka. The demonstrative form of grammatical cohesion is found in kini, sekarang, saat ini, kala itu, dulu, siang itu, sore itu, hari itu, hari ini, di sana, di sini, ke sana, ke mana, sana, ini, and itu.     BEYOND TRADITIONAL LITERACIES: A MULTIMODAL-BASED INSTRUCTION TO FOSTERING STUDENT DIGITAL LITERACY LEARNING

    The fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) marked by artificial intelligence and cyber-physical systems has transformed the landscape of education including English literacy instruction. Some literacy educators claim that the success of students’ today as millennial kids (Gen-Zs) and future employees has been linked to digital literacy. This term is defined as the skills associated with using digital technology to enable users to locate, organize, understand, evaluate and create information and using those skills to solve problems in technology-rich environments. This study attempts to investigate the extent to which multimodal pedagogy helps improve students’ digital literacy skills in an English for Specific Purposes (ESP) setting in a vocational higher education. A theoretical multimodal semiotic approach along with multiliteracies pedagogy is served as the overarching guideline in the overall instructional procedures grounded specifically from the principles of learner-centeredness, constructivist learning, and social interaction. A qualitative case study approach was adopted to provide an in-depth explication and analysis of students’ literacy development. Data collection included classroom observations and students’ digital artefacts. In the course of the study, the students were engaged in the creation of two digital projects of different genres: digital information report in the form of text-image creation and digital persuasive talk in the form digital video production. The key findings of this study suggest that multimodal pedagogy is an effective instructional method for digital literacy learning in that several aspects of digital literacy had proven to be significantly improved

    Ngapak dialect is a cultural identity from Banyumasan area which includes Banjarnegara, Purbalingga, Banyumas, Cilacap, and Kebumen regency. The Ngapak dialect has a unique pronunciation that is assertive (luged) and without a doubt (ampang). This research explains how the ngapak dialect was chosen as a symbol of the Banyumasan’s cultural identity to interacting on social media. This research uses a qualitative method with a virtual ethnographic approach and also supported by the constructivism paradigm. The data was collected by observation, interviews, and documentation as the primary data and literature studies as the secondary data. The results of this research are ngapak dialect is the development of the perceptions of the stereotypes with the ngapak dialect that exist and the dialect of ngapak itself. The perception of the Banyumasan cultural community regarding the Ngapak dialect is unique, cool, and rich so don't be embarrassed and should be proud because Ngapak dialect has potential. Banyumasan cultural community uses dialect ngapak as content with comedy themes. The reflection of the comedy itself is the character of the Banyumasan folks called cablaka and mbanyol. Cablaka means pure and mbayol means silly or funny

    Based on the observation and interviews with Arabic Language students, it was founded that one of their lack of knowledge is about the meanings of conditions for the words that related to the verb, even this term is odd to them. The importance of this research lies in the introduction of the condition meanings for the words that related to the verb in a sentence. This study aims to find out the meaning of condition meanings for the words that related to the verb in The Koran Surah Yasin. This search uses a descriptive method of the content analysis model The verses of the Surah Yasin are the main source or primary data in this study while additional or secondary data in this study are books and journals. The results found that there were 40 words with 4 types of condition meanings for the words that related to the verb with details of 14 words discarding the subject (11 known meanings and 3 unknown meanings), 13 words discarding object (4 words explain the vague, 5 words occupying position intransitive verb because there is no connection  with established, 3 words guarding rhyme, and a word summarizing), 2 words prioritizing object (specializing and ruling out object), and 11 words prioritizing circumstance and jar majrur (6 words specializing, 4 words keeping rhyme, and a word occupies the denial position)

    PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PANEL DISCUSSION DALAM PEMBELAJARAN KAIWA

    This study aimed to enhance learners Japanese speaking skills and to developed a learning model that suitable for kaiwa course in a huge class (number of participants were more than 20 people). This research was conducted with descriptive research method to describe kaiwa class situation conducted with panel discussion model. Data collection conducted with survey questionnaire and some short interview. Research subjects was the final grade students of Prodi Sastra Jepang, Universitas Komputer Indonesia. The result of survey questionnaire showed that panel discussion model gives more opportunity to all kaiwa class participants to speak Japanese and express their own current research idea than the traditional way of kaiwa learning model. In addition, learners also showed a positive attitude after following the kaiwa class conducted with the panel discussion model, in term of the development of their own current research direction. Research subject stated that they gained a lot of valuable information about their current research from their classmates through question answer sessions. Panel discussion learning model also encourages learners to be more active in the classroom and focusing the class into a Students Centered Learning (SCL) situation

    Dendang is one of the oral folklores of Bengkulu city. This study aims to describe dendang Tepuk Tari in the marriage customs of Bengkulu city, the form, function, and values. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method using recording techniques, interviews, listening, and taking notes and the Snowball sampling technique. The main data in this study are the chanting poems taken from the video footage that was sung and equipped with the results of interviews with several informants. This traditional dance is filled with the performance of seven traditional dances accompanied by Bengkulu traditional music and rhymes. The rhyme used consists of: 1) regular rhyme, and 2) talibun. The functions of the dendang are as; 1) entertainment facilities, 2) community identity, 3) social criticism, and 4) educational facilities, and it contains the values of: 1) philosophical, 2) religion, and 3) sociological

    In learning Indonesian language and literature needs to take into consideration the involvement of students in creative process. Students are capable of listening the literary works and appreciate them. The implementation of listening learning can be successful if it is employing a contextual approach. This study describes: (1) the needs of teachers and students in developing interactive media in listening learning of drama for students in Vocational High Schools; (2) the arrangement of interactive media prototype employing contextual approach in listening learning of drama for students in Vocational High Schools; (3) the effectiveness of interactive media employing contextual approach in listening learning of drama for students in Vocational High Schools; (4) the acceptance of interactive media employing contextual approach in listening learning of drama for students in Vocational High Schools based on stakeholders’ responses.The research employs Research and Development (RD) study that conducts some steps developed by Borg and Gall, as follows: 1) the exploratory study that includes literature review, field study and the initial phases in creating prototype design, 2) the development phase of new learning media, 3) the experiment phase that is to test the effectiveness of old media and new media in listening learning of drama, 4) the acceptance test of new learning media to public. The data was collected and tested its effectiveness with the T-Test statistical analysis.The results of this research show that; (1) teachers and students find difficulties to employ interactive media in listening learning of drama in accordance with the students’ basic competence and lesson plan, (2) the prototype of interactive learning media is developed, (3) the students’ learning outcome of listening learning of drama can be improved with the help of interactive media compared with the learning without it and this is proved by the results of limited field trial and field trial, (4) the interactive media can be accepted by public and has more advantages than the old media according to the result of acceptance test

    PENGEMBANGAN TEKNIK INTERACTIVE-COMMUNICATIVE GAMES UNTUK KETERAMPILAN BERBICARA BIPA KELAS PEMULA

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan teknik pembelajaran Interactive-Communicative Games pada keterampilan berbicara BIPA kelas pemula serta mengetahui kualitas teknik pembelajaran yang telah dikembangkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan yang menggunakan gabungan model penelitian dan pengembangan R2D2 dan Dick and Carey. Desain pengembangan meliputi tiga fokus, yaitu fokus penetapan, desain dan pengembangan, serta diseminasi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan pedoman wawancara, angket, dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknik pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memiliki penilaian sangat layak dengan persentase kualitas 86,85% yang diperoleh berdasarkan analisis hasil angket dari validator ahli, praktisi, dan pemelajar BIPA terhadap teknik pembelajaran yang dikembangkan. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknik pembelajaran Interactive-Communicative Games sangat layak untuk diimplementasikan dalam kelas yang sebenarnya

    PENERAPAN STRATEGI PEMBELAJARAN TASK BASED LANGUAGE LEARNING DALAM MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS TEKS DESKRIPTIF BAHASA PERANCIS

     Today there are so many learning strategies to support teaching and learning activities. One of the learning strategies that can be applied in writing skills is Task Based Language Learning. This research aims to measure the level of student mastery of descriptive text writing skills before and after the use of Task Based Language Learning strategies; measure the effectiveness of the implementation of Task Based Language Learning, and; obtain information about the implementation of Task Based Language Learning. The method used in this research was a pre-experimental. Meanwhile, the research design was one group pre-test and post-test design. The research findings explained that the use of Task Based Language Learning can improve students’s descriptive text writing skills. This is proven by an increase in the average value obtained by students. The average score in the pre-test was 60.8 while the post-test average score increased by 74.88. Then based on the overall questionnaire data analysis, the application of this learning strategy contributed positively to the learning of descriptive French writing skills
