Novice Assistance Tool and Methodology: Design Decision and Task-Pattern Mapping
We present a possible method and tool to supportthe novice designers in the design tasks. Although in literaturestated that practitioners depend on memory and experiences, novice designers would take time to learn to acquire sufficient experience. The purpose of this research is to help novicedesigners to fulfill the usability goals that have determined by theexpert in designing a system. The proposed methodology and toolcan be considered as an assistance tool for novice designer indecision making in regards to prototype selection as well as thetask-pattern mapping template for pattern selection in fulfillingthe usability goal targeted. The tool was designed to manage thedecisions information and to recommend the chosen prototypebased on the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) technique. Inoverall, about 87% of expert evaluators and prospective userswere agreed with the suggestion of prototype selection from theproposed tool. The findings from this study revealed that thecooperation from industry experts was valuable in determinedthe usability goal and direction and getting accumulativefeedbacks both from users and experts
NET.OS : Network Server Operating Systems Based on Open Source
Open source server operating system mostly still usestext-based user interface and it makes hard to learn to new userin Vocational High School of Computer Network Department. This problem will be dealt by providing Graphical User Interface(GUI) in the server operating system accompany Command LineInterface feature. This paper describes the development of opensource server operating system which provides serverconfiguration in text mode and graphics mode. This researchmethod involves the study of literature and the development ofoperating systems with remastering concept including selectingfeatures, selecting graphics display, selecting the basic system, remastering, and testing to the Server PC. Research productcalled Net.OS (Network Technology Server OS) was tested incomputer networks to validate the server functions. The resultsshow that all functions can work successfully. Net.OSimplementation can provide a user friendly to configure theserver in a web-based graphical mode, text mode, moreover itbecomes a bridge of Linux newbie to learn the serverconfiguration using GUI
Ear Image Recognition using Hyper Sausage Neuron
It is important to distinguish an individual from a group of other individuals to ensure information security an d integrity. One of human body parts that has distinguishable characterics is the ear. Prior attempts on identification of hum an ear image has been implementing statistical pattern recogni tion which focusing more on classification between sample sets . This research attempts to build a robust ear image recognitio n system using Hyper Sausage Neuron (HSN) that concetrates on cognition process rather than classification. A recognition s oftware has been built and tested to recognize ear images. Ear images presented into the software has its geometrical moment invariants extracted. These moments is then used to build a se ven dimensional feature vector which will construct a network of HSN of each individual it represents. Different ear images f rom the same individual is presented into the software to test i ts accuracy. The experiment result shows that ear recognition using HSN has better accuracy and faster training time than p revious recognition attempts using statistical pattern recogniti on
Realization of Zigbee Wireless Sensor Networks for Temperature and Humidity Monitoring
Many physical phenomena and processes in theenvironment must be monitored. This problem can be solved withan ad-hoc wireless sensor network (WSN), which consists of anumber of small and self-power sensing devices (nodes) that areconnected with each other using effective wireless networks. Thispaper reports development of an embedded wireless sensornetwork (WSN) prototype for environmental parametersmonitoring. The network itself consists of a coordinator or datagateway which wirelessly collect temperature and humidity dataover several sensor nodes. Each sensor node is developed from anarduino based microcontroller, Xbee wireless module based onZigbee/IEEE 802.15.4 standards, and temperature and humiditysensor devices. In the prototype system, both temperature andhumidity sensors are calibrated with accurate instruments to obtainprecise measurements. Its communication functionality is alsotested in various network topologies. The battery lifetime iscalculated to predict the energy consumption. The testing resultsshow that the system works well in terms of its functionality
Wireless Fire Alarm System in Power Plant
This paper presents a wireless fire alarm system inpower plant. In the wireless fire alarm system had two sensorslike smoke sensor and temperature sensor. The smoke sensor isdetected the smoke when during the fire disaster happens. Thefire disaster happens the temperature will increase to above 650Call the wire will burnt and will getting smoke around the room. When the smoke sensor and the temperature sensor had signalwill pass through to microcontroller PIC18F4550 and send thedata to computer with using X-bee Pro device. The X-bee Prowill receive signal to computer and show in the Visual Basicabout the status of the room and the temperature at the room
Gas Leak Localization Using Mobile Sensor Networks
A swarm robotics localization strategybased on deliberates fuzzy and swarm behavior isproposed in this paper. Localization is the processof determining the positions of robots or targetsin whole swarms environment. To localize thetarget in real environment, experiment isconducted utilize three identical robots withdifferent color as mobile sensor node. Fuzzy logicand swarm behavior are keeping the swarmrobots position and direction with a certaindistance to the target position
Design of Real Time Anemometer Based on Wind Speed and Direction
Data acquisition of wind speed and wind direction are needed to get the data potential of wind power. The aim of this research is to generate a device of wind speed and wind direction with the real time condition. With this device, we will obtain an analysis about the potential of wind power electrical generation around the Puger beach, Jember, Indonesia. In this study and discussion, the main part is made in three hardware that is to measure wind speed, wind direction and to show real time data. The device which is used to measure wind speed using hall effect sensor as a transducer. With using of the active magnet that spins will be created pwm that will be read by sensor to get the wind speed. As for the shows wind direction, we use a compass sensor CMPS 03 is a digital sensor that outputs in the form of digital bits so that be able to show wind direction from 0° to 360°. The magnitude of angle will be used in analyzing the direction of the wind. Then the real time clock (RTC) will be used to directly to determine the time and date of recording data

Target Tracking in Mobile Robot under Uncertain Environment using Fuzzy Logic Controller
This paper discusses a design of fuzzy logic algorithm in a robot. This algorithm is useful for the robot in seeking and reaching the target. The robot is also accomplished with an ability to avoid obstacles. Although the fuzzy rule that is embedded to the robot is very simple, it gives a good result in target seeking and obstacles avoiding task. The originality of this research is an approach to the rules that can simplify the task by creating faster track for the robot in uncertain environment.
Nitrogen (N) Fertilizer Measuring Instrument On Maize-Based Plant Microcontroller
One of the growth factors of corn plant is fertilizer according to nitrogen fertilizer requirement. The identification of nitrogen fertilizer requirement in corn plant can be done by measuring the green leaf level using Color Leaf Manual, using TCS3200 color sensor combined with Arduino Uno Board microcontroller, and information. In this study a tool was created that could automatically measure the amount of fertilizer needed for corn per hectare. The results of the measurements displayed on the LCD 2x16 bits Micro made a measurement of fertilizer based on leaf color for corn plants. By taking the RGB value from the leaf that comes through the color sensor and then compared with the RGB value in the leaf color chart that has been saved in microcontroller will get the information of the fertilizer dosage needed. The level of truth of the measuring instrument of fertilizer can be categorized good enough with the level of accuracy reached 82%
