Sign and Its Significance in John\u27s Gospel
No full textJohn uses the term \u27sign\u27 in his Gospel to describe particular miracles that Jesus performs in His ministry as evidence of His divinity and sign posts to receive eternal life from God. By using an historically and theologically oriented hermeneutical method as a part of qualitative research, this article provides an interpretation of the seven signs in Gospel of John as authentic evidence of the main work of Jesus during His ministry on earth: namely, the revelation of Jesus divinity and consequent demands on people\u27s lives, like responding to his claim as Savior. John deliberately chose the seven signs or miracles that Jesus performed. The significance of those signs reveals the glory of God within Jesus to a sinful world, so that those who see and know them will believe in Jesus Christ and receive the eternal life
The Role of Woman Preachers to Empower Torajan People Economy
Full text linkThe Role of Woman Preachers to Empower Torajan People’s Economy. The aim of this research is to analyze the role of woman preachers to empower Torajan people’s economy. It used qualitative phenomenology research. The data were collected by interview and Focus Group Discussion to informants through purposive and snowball sampling. After that, the data were validated by technique, sources, and researchers triangulation. In terms of analysis, the data were analyzed using Miles and Hubberman’s method. Findings show that there are 3 main roles of woman preachers to empower Torajan people economy, namely role in context of increasing income, role in context of expenditure efficiency, and role in context of financial management. Those roles have strong relationship with the role of women in the family. The main challenge is the implementation of the roles in real life. Based on the results, it is recommended to strengthen the implementation of the woman preachers’ role
The Nature of Tolerance in the Frame of Christian Faith as a Contribution to Building the Unity of the Nation
No full textIntolerant attitudes and actions that result in horizontal conflicts are inevitable in the life of a pluralistic nation like Indonesia. They hinder, however, the development of the nation\u27s integrity protected and fought for decades by its founding fathers. Through this paper, Indonesian Christians are expected to be aware of the importance of their nation\u27s integrity and of them living in harmony, which will bring peace. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach. It concluded that a correct understanding of the nature of tolerance within the framework of the Christian faith is necessary to contribute to building national unity. The tolerance possessed by Christians will maximize their role in contributing to practical building of national unity in daily life, such as in carrying out activities that emphasize coexistence and mutual respect as the realization of obedience to God\u27s word. Christians also need to participate in inter-religious dialogue to find solutions to the problem of disintegration. Thus, the role of Christians in building national unity and integrity through tolerance has an impact on the harmony, security, and sustainability of the state

Worldview which how a person looks at the world where it to be a center of human worldview affects all human culture, behavior, and belief. Worldview is fundamentals but is not easy to understand. This research describes a relationship that has implications for the way the church takes mission. The changing world of modernity caused the Christian worldview becomes an anti-thesis of the secular worldview and other religions. This problem becomes a conflict of various ideas and believes that influences and conquers one another. One side of the church is between influences, on the other hand the church is called to reveal His truth. These problematics has arisen been since the Middle Ages when the philosopher who pioneered the teachings of humanism, reinaisance and enlightenment. The objective of this research is to introduce Christian philosophical concepts as a way how the church sees the various views of life of others. So that the church can distinguish wisely and know the values that influence other worldviews. Through this research will stimulate the church to realizes his calling as a church more effectively. By utilizing a philosophical-systematic approach, it produces answers to the questions of this study. A Christian worldview approach encourages the church to state the truth in every aspect of life and provides an important perspective for the church in the modern age to become an instrument of God\u27s mission.  ABSTRAKWawasan Dunia Kristen merupakan sebuah pendekatan yang melihat kekristenan sebagai suatu kesatuan utuh yang saling terkait. Wawasan dunia merupakan cara pandangan seseorang melihat dunia dimana pusat dari wawasan dunia itulah yang mempengaruhi seluruh budaya manusia. Hal fundamental ini tidak mudah dipahami namun ia mengendalikan cara hidup manusia. Penelitian ini menjelaskan relasi yang memiliki implikasi kepada cara gereja bermisi. Di tengah dunia modern yang semakin berubah membuktikan bagaimana wawasan dunia Kristen menjadi anti tesis dari wawasan dunia sekular dan agama lain. Masalah ini menjadi sebuah konflik dari berbagai ide dan kepercayaan yang saling mempengaruhi. Satu sisi gereja berada di antara pengaruh-pengaruh, di sisi lain gereja terpanggil untuk menyatakan kebenaran-Nya. Masalah besar ini muncul sejak abad pertengahan dimana para filusuf yang mempelopori ajaran-ajaran humanism, reinaisance dan pencerahan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah memperkenalkan konsep filosofis Kristen sebagai cara pandangan gereja menilai berbagai pandangan hidup orang lain. Sehingga gereja dapat membedakan dan mengetahui nilai-nilai yang mempengaruhi wawasan dunia lain. Dengan cara memanfaatkan pendekatan filosof-sistematis maka menghasilkan jawaban dari pertanyaan dari penelitian ini. Pendekatan dengan Wawasan Dunia Kristen mendorong gereja untuk menyatakan kebenaran di setiap aspek kehidupan dan memberikan perspektif yang penting bagi gereja di abad modern sekarang untuk menjadi alat misi Tuhan.Christian Worldview is the way we see Christianity as a complete unity that hooks up with each other. Every human being has a worldview that consciously or not, affects the beliefs of life. This fundamental thing is not easy to understand but it controls all aspects of human life. In the midst of a changing modern world it proves how Christian worldview becomes the antithesis of secular worldview and other religions. This research explains the problem and is associated with church callings. These problems raise various conflicts of ideas and beliefs that affect each other. On the one hand the church has a calling to be salt and light of the world. On the other hand, the church is also commanded to not be similar to the world. The purpose of this research is to show how the philosophical concept of Christianity as a way of church views can play a significant role for the church calling, so that the church can distinguish and know the values that influence another worldview. By utilizing a philosophical-systematic approach it produces answers to research questions. An approach with Christian worldview is able to encourage the church to proclaim the truth in every aspect of life effectively and provide the right perspective for the belivers in the modern age to be a means of God\u27s mission
Pengaruh Pemahaman Mengikut Yesus Menurut Matius 16:24 Terhadap Motivasi Menjadi Hamba Tuhan
Full text linkThis study aims to determine how much influence the understanding of following Jesus according to the Gospel of Matthew 16:24 on the motivation for the call to be the Servant of God among students of STT Nusantara Salatiga. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. The results showed that there was a low influence between the understanding of following Jesus according to the Gospel of Matthew 16:24 on the motivation for the call to become servants of God in students of STT Nusantara Salatiga in 2018. This is indicated by the level of correlation which is only 0.222. The results of the regression analysis showed that the coefficient of determination was 22.2%, meaning that the motivation for the call to become God\u27s servant for STT Nusantara Salatiga students in 2018 was influenced by 22.2% by the understanding of following Jesus according to the Gospel of Matthew 16: 24, the rest 77.8% was influenced by other factors. which the authors did not research. The existence of a gap between understanding and motivation is due to other factors that may also significantly influence motivation. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh pemahaman mengikut Yesus menurut Injil Matius 16:24 terhadap motivasi panggilan menjadi Hamba Tuhan pada mahasiswa STT Nusantara Salatiga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh yang rendah antara pemahaman mengikut Yesus menurut Injil Matius 16:24 terhadap motivasi panggilan nmenjadi hamba Tuhan pada mahasiswa STT Nusantara Salatiga tahun 2018. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan tingkat korelasi yang hanya sebesar 0,222. Hasil analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa koofisien determinasi sebesar 22,2%, artinya motivasi panggilan menjadi hamba Tuhan mahasiswa STT Nusantara Salatiga tahun 2018 dipengaruhi 22,2% oleh pemahaman mengikut Yesus menurut Injil Matius 16: 24, selebihnya 77,8% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti oleh penulis. Adanya kesenjangan antara pemahaman dengan motivasi disebabkan adanya factor-faktor lain yang mungkin secara signifikan juga mempengaruhi motivasi
Benarkah Cinta Kuat Seperti Maut? Eksegesis Kidung Agung 8:6-7 dan Relevansinya

Start from the phenomenon of wealth strength that is able to \u27 buy love \u27, the author questioned the truth of the statement \u27for love is strong as death\u27 in the book of Song of Songs 8:6-7 which is then analyzed by focusing on the lexicon, context, and syntax of grammar The Hebrew language and compare it to the existing interpretation. The results of the analysis show that Love is something universal included in its erotics love. The nature of Love is described as an extreme force that pushes a person in a positive direction but also negative. Love can build but also tear down. The power of love is confronted with the power of nature and treasures as a challenge as well as proving the power of love. Love with its paradoxical force of extremes can be overcome by the ratification of relationships. The text of the Song of Songs 8:6-7 raises the extreme power of strong love like death, but most of the interpretations are then supported by mystical and materialistic powers to make love \u27 not \u27 strong like death  ABSTRAKBenarkah Cinta Kuat seperti Maut? Berangkat dari fenomena kekuatan harta yang mampu ‘membeli cinta’, penulis mempertanyakan kebenaran pernyataan ‘karena cinta kuat seperti maut’ dalam kitab Kidung Agung 8:6-7 yang kemudian dianalisis dengan berfokus pada leksikon, konteks, dan sintaks tata bahasa Ibrani serta membandingkannya dengan penafsiran yang telah ada. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa cinta adalah sesuatu yang universal termasuk di dalamnya cinta erotis. Sifat cinta digambarkan sebagai suatu kekuatan ekstrim yang mendorong seseorang ke arah yang positif tetapi juga negatif. Cinta dapat membangun tetapi juga meruntuhkan. Kekuatan cinta diperhadapkan dengan kekuatan alam dan harta sebagai tantangan sekaligus sebagai pembuktian kekuatan cinta. Cinta dengan kekuatan ekstrimnya yang paradoks dapat diatasi dengan pengesahan hubungan. Teks KA 8:6-7 mengemukakan kekuatan ekstrim cinta yang kuat seperti maut, namun sebagian besar penafsiran yang kemudian didukung oleh kekuatan mistis dan materialistik menjadikan cinta ‘tidak’ kuat seperti maut

Full text linkHonoring parents is a commandment from God that all mankind must carry out. This study aims to determine the true meaning of honouring parents and what practical action looks like. To answer the formulation of this problem, the researchers used a research method with a qualitative approach, namely, a method that looks for a deep meaning about the text, and extracts from several books or journals related to the problem. From the results of the discussion, honour for parents is an attitude that must be carried out throughout life through obedience, not insulting or criticizing and don\u27t say harshly, as well as an attitude that nurtures, cares for and meets their needs. And God\u27s promise for those who keep this law is a long life, happiness and a good condition, namely prosperity physically and spiritually. ABSTRAKMenghormati orang tua adalah perintah Tuhan yang harus dilaksanakan oleh semua umat manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui arti yang sebenarnya secara biblika dari menghormati orang tua dan seperti apa tindakan praktisnya. Untuk menjawab rumusan masalah ini, maka peneliti  melakukan penelitian dengan pendekatan kualitatif yaitu, metode yang mencari arti yang mendalam tentang teks, dan menggali dari beberapa buku atau jurnal yang berkaitan dengan masalah tersebut. Dari hasil pembahasan maka menghormati orang tua merupakan sikap yang harus dilakukan sepanjang umur hidup melalui sikap taat, tidak menghina atau mencela dan tidak berkata kasar, juga sikap yang memelihara, merawat dan mencukupi kebutuhan mereka. Penggunaan Enneagram Dalam Pembinaan Formasi Spiritual Kristen
Full text linkEnneagram is an ancient personality typology that can depict one’s personality strategy and pattern. It is potential to be used in Christian spiritual formation trainings. However, some Evangelicals voice their doubts especially regarding its historicity and reliability in relation to Christian spiritual formation. This study, conducted by using exploratory qualitative approach, tries to examine enneagram through its historicity and empirical studies and their interconnections with Christian spiritual formation. The study shows that enneagram can be used in Christian spiritual formation trainings, especially on topics discussing relational issues in the areas of friendship, marriage, leadership, conflict management, or counseling.   ABSTRAKEnneagram adalah tipologi kepribadian kuno yang dapat menggambarkan strategi dan pola kepribadian seseorang, sehingga berpotensi untuk digunakan dalam pembinaan formasi spiritual Kristen. Namun muncul keraguan dari kalangan Protestan Injili, terutama ditinjau dari aspek historis dan reliabilitasnya dalam hubungannya dengan formasi spiritual Kristen. Karena itu dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif ekploratori, tulisan ini menelaah berbagai kajian historis dan empiris mengenai enneagram serta keterkaitannya dengan formasi spiritual Kristen. God\u27s Consistency Which Is Promised Through a New-Normal-Era Health Protocol in Order to Preserve The Essence Of Humanity
No full textHealth anthropology has experienced a tremendous new revolution, started from last year, 2020. A New-normal Health Protocol formulation was put in place to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak. Natural and social media communities complained about humanity and human rights degradation, raising calls for resistance due to imposed global restrictive regulations. God in Christian theology is a God who promises to His human creation that He will be with and help humans to have a happy and prosperous life. By doing literature research, this paper tries to explore whether the Covid-19 management guidelines are by the consistency of covenant God in restoring the essence of humanity. How is the relation between two paradigms of society, from God’s side and human’s side, through the Health Protocol intervention? The finding is that God, who created perfect human beings, keeps all the processes of his life to become the people of His eternal kingdom. Society and individuals should be able to respond to global regulations as support for faith and perspective to continue to live and fill the days ahead with the maximum quality of life as prime human beings.  ABSTRAK: Antropologi kesehatan mengalami suatu revolusi baru yang dahsyat, dimulai dari tahun lalu, 2020. Sebuah rumusan Protokol Kesehatan New-normal diberlakukan untuk menangani wabah pandemi Covid-19. Masyarakat nyata dan media sosial mengeluhkan perasaan degradasi kemanusiaan dan hak asasi manusia bahkan mencuatkan seruan perlawanan karena peraturan pembatasan global yang dipaksakan. Allah dalam teologi Kristen adalah Allah yang berjanji kepada manusia ciptaan-Nya bahwa Ia akan menyertai dan menolong manusia untuk mendapatkan kehidupan yang sejahtera dan berbahagia. Dengan melakukan sebuah literature-research tulisan ini mencoba menelusuri apakah pedoman tatalaksana Covid-19 ini sesuai dengan konsistensi Allah yang berjanji dalam hal memulihkan esensi kemanusiaan. Bagaimanakah hubungan antara dua paradigma tentang kemanusiaan dari sisi Allah dan manusia melalui intervensi Protokol Kesehatan. Temuan bahwa Allah yang menciptakan manusia yang sempurna menjaga sepanjang proses kehidupannya agar menjadi umat kerajaan kekal-Nya. Christian Religious Education Toward The Teenagers Character Building
Full text linkThe purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of Christian Religious Education on changes in the character of teenagers at GBI Bukit Sion Kelapa Gading. This study uses a quantitative survey research methodology by using a statistical regression analysis technique. The data collection technique used a Likert scale with four answer choices distributed to 40 teenagers in this study. The data processing results show a correlation between the variables of Christian Religious Education and Teenagers Character Building of 0.486 or 48.6%. This means that Christian Religious Education has a positive role in changing the character building of teenagers at GBI Bukit Sion Kelapa Gading. ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa pengaruh Pendidikan Agama Kristen terhadap perubahan karakter remaja di GBI Bukit Sion Kelapa Gading. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif survey dengan menggunakan teknik analisis statistika regresi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan skala likert empat pilihan jawaban yang dibagikan kepada 40 remaja yang menjadi responden penelitian ini. Hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan ada korelasi antara variabel Pendidikan Agama Kristen terhadap Pembentukan Karakter Remaja sebesar 0,486 atau 48,6 %. Artinya bahwa Pendidikan Agama Kristen memiliki peran yang positif dalam perubahan pembentukan karakter remaja di GBI Bukit Sion Kelapa Gading
