Get PDFLibrarians at the Ministry of Agriculture are civil servants (PNS), who are appointed through a selection process whose duties and positions are governed in functional positions and credit figures based on ministerial regulations on the utilization of the state apparatus and the reform of the Indonesian bureaucracy. The librarian\u27s profession as a civil servant is closely related to how they are able to communicate interpersonally and how it can support their performance as government employees. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the description of librarians of the ministry of agriculture, to analyze the relationship of librarian characteristics with the competence of interpersonal communication and to analyze the relation of competence of interpersonal communication and librarian performance. As well as analyzing the differences of interpersonal communication and the performance of expert librarians and skilled librarians. The research was conducted at library institution of Ministry of Agriculture with the number of respondents was 72 people. Data collection in the field was conducted during May 2017. The data obtained were processed using descriptive statistics, srearman ranks and chi-square to find relationships between variables. The majority of librarians judge that the competence of their interpersonal communication is in the category of both skilled librarians and expert librarians. Relationship characteristic with interpersonal communication occurs only on indicator of gender relationship to supportiveness and positiveness, formal and norformal education level to Positiveness. Performance has a relationship with interpersonal communication based on credit score only on indicator supportiveness. Overall performance indicators of work behavior assessment are significantly related to interpersonal communication. Empathy, Positiveness and supportiveness of expert and skilled librarians have real differences. While the performance of expert and skilled librarians has no real difference

Get PDFThis study is intended to gain a better understanding of the use of ICTs from several developing countries for the purpose of developing agricultural economics and poverty alleviation. From the lessons learned, it is expected to get opportunities and challenges that must be addressed in relation to the use of ICTs for the development of agricultural economics and poverty alleviation, especially in Indonesia. The literature study method from several developing countries shows that ICTs play a role in helping farmers in decision making, in terms of planting and harvesting time because this is important in agricultural development. In this case, ICT empowers farmers with productive assets and marketing, increasing their productive capacity so that reducing their poverty status. Affordable ICT services in rural communities have played a very strong role in improving the economic conditions of the population that contribute to the rural economy. ICTs have the potential to be effective instruments in supporting poverty alleviation. In Indonesia, ICTs have not been used properly for agricultural business development because of the low level of education in agricultural business households and access to information on internet media. To overcome the information gap for rural households/ communities is to make the extension officers more effective, accelerate the development of telecommunications infrastructure in order to strengthen telecommunications signals, and provide continuous support to rural farmers and agricultural businesses

This research is aimed to analyze a link between communication pattern in marriage, communication climate and parenting a child with cerebral palsy. It was done to use quantitative method with the survey that was focusing on an individual spouse that has a child with cerebral palsy. The research found that communication pattern tends a positive simetric type in parenting a child with cerebral palsy. Pemanfaatan Internet sebagai Media Komunikasi oleh Pengelola Sekretariat Dewan Ketahanan Pangan Provinsi
Get PDFThis research work was carried out to analyze the utilization of internet as a communication media by Staff of Provincial DKP Secretariat. The population of the study is Staff of Provincial DKP Secretariat in 34 province in Indonesia. Survey method of the research and stratified random sampling were used to select 68 Staff for the study. The data was presented and analyzed in tables and average scores. The research found that internet exposure of Staff of Provincial DKP Secretariat is high. However, its utilization is still low. The research also showed that: (1) individual characteristics (age, period of work, and training) are significantly correlated with internet exposure (frequency and channel variety); (2) motivation (intrinsic motivation) is significantly correlated with internet exposure (duration and the situation of exposure); (3) internet exposure (duration, frequency, and the situation of exposure) are significantly correlated with utilization of internet (communication and coordination)

Get PDFEffective and efficient marketing is a key in increasing farmers income. Interaction between farmers would involve the sharing of information about marketing and creating a communication network among cocoa farmers. Communication networks should be developed in cocoa marketing because it can provide information to farmers about the price and quality that consumers needs and more profitable marketing purposes. The measure of this study used analysis of communication networks which is ‘centrality’. Centrality refers to the position of actors (nodes) in the overall network and see how centrals actors in the network. Centrality measurements used in this study are degree centrality, closeness centrality, and betweeness centrality. The purposes of this study were 1) to describe the individual characteristics of farmers, media exposure by farmers, and communication network 2) to analyze the correlation between farmers characteristic and communication network analysis and 3) to analyze the correlation between media exposure and communication network analysis. The result of this study showed that 1) the variable of farmer characteristics such as age was relatively adult, formal education was relatively low, the area of land cultivated was relatively moderate, farming experience was relatively high, and group experiences is relatively high on Tunas Harapan group and moderate on Bunga Harapan group. The variable of media exposure such as media ownership, frequency, and duration of media use was relatively low. The central actor on Tunas Harapan group was the group leader while the central actor on Bunga Harapan group was the group member. 2)Farmer characteristic correlated with degree centrality was formal education and farmer characteristics correlated with closeness centrality were the area of land cultivated and experience of the group. 3) Media exposures correlated with degree centrality were media ownership, the frequency of media use and the duration of media use then media exposure of farmer correlated with betweeness centrality were the frequency of media use and duration of media use

Information literacy is the ability to search, evaluate, and use information needed effectively. Basically information literacy is not a new ability or skill, but in the era of information disclosure, information literacy is a must-have skill requirement. The problems faced today, there is still an imbalance between the pace of information available and the level of agricultural information literacy at the farm level. The development of agricultural information through the internet has led to cyber extensions, information is available quickly and varied, but not all farmers are able to access and use it. The Faculty of Agriculture UGM has developed an application with the name DesaApps. DesaApps stands for Digital Extension Society for Agriculture Application which aims to be an application platform that provides agricultural counseling and develops a digital farming community. The existence of DesaApps can be useful for users of the application to provide information to one another, interact and transact in agriculture. The features in the DesaApps application consist of Frequently Asked Questions, Articles, Price Information, Farm Notes, Weather Information. Shop Information, Office Information, and Selling Items. Utilization of the features provided by Desa Apps provides an opportunity for farmers to obtain the information needed, as well as a means of improving the skills of managing information obtained. Therefore, the presence of Desa Apps empowers farmers to be independently informed. However, the performance of Desa Apps as one of the sources of information still needs to be improved. In order to be able to optimize the use of Village Apps, the utilization strategy is to improve application performance, promote and promote Village Apps, responsiveness of experts, and optimize the use of Desa Apps as a marketing place

Personal selling is one form of marketing communication conducted by Kampung 99 Pepohonan Agrotourism. This paper aims to analyze the effectiveness of personal selling as marketing communication at Kampung 99 Pepohonan Agrotourism which the one of community based agrotourism and analyze the factors that influence the effectiveness of personal selling as marketing communication. This research uses census method by using quantitative data in the form of questionnaires supported by qualitative data in the form of interview with informant. The results showed that the effectiveness of personal selling as marketing communications on cognitive aspect influenced by marketing communication skills variable and the completeness of message content variable, while the effectiveness of personal selling as marketing communication on affective and conative aspects influenced by messages delivery strategy

Get PDFThe people of West Sumatra, who have been adhering to the Minangkabau matrilineal cultural tradition, are currently experiencing cultural decay. Many studies speculate that the unique Minangkabau culture will not be too much disturbed by the influx of globalization because in essence the only part that will be eroded is the peripheral part, while the core will remain preserved for all time. This study photographed the people of Tanjung Raya District based on existing family typologies, then saw a shift in norms passed on to teenagers using the six Hofstede cultural dimensions. This study surveyed five types of families with calculations using a simple addition operation. The results of the questionnaire were made high and low criteria, then presented in cobweb graphical form. The assessment indicators are based on the six dimensions of Hofstede\u27s culture. Shifting the teachings of exemplary teachings from Minangkabau culture is determined using the ANOVA test. The results of this study are to map the portrait of Minangkabau culture according to Hofstede and a portrait of each of Hofstede\u27s dimensions in each type of family in Tanjung Raya District. From there, it can be seen how far away the approach of the values taught by the family towards Minangkabau culture is approaching
