    Proboscis(Nasalis larvatus, Wurmb) including types that are rare andonly found in certain islands, especially on the island of Borneo and is a species endemic to the island. Leboyan Riverand Batang Ketam in one area of ​​the National Park Lake Sentarum as a habitat of proboscis. This study aims to determine the number of individuals and groups of proboscis monkeys (Nasalis larvatus, Wurmb) Leboyan River and Batang Ketam in the National Park area of Lake Sentarum Kapuas Hulu District after the occurrence of forest fires in the region. The results of the data analysis of individual density proboscis at the 95% confidence interval is between 0,259 to 2,641 fish/ha, for a 99% confidence interval is between 0,313 to 3,213 fish/ha. The density of the groups with 95% confidence interval lies between 0.079 to 0.319 groups/ha and 99% confidence interval density lies between 0,021 proboscis groups to 0.377 groups/ha. The number of individuals in the study area throughout the proboscis monkey Leboyan River and Batang Ketam in the area Sentarum Lake National Park, at the 95% confidence interval is between 4 to 36 proboscis monkeys, for a 99% confidence lies between 5 and 43 proboscis monkeys. The number of groups of proboscis monkey with a 95% confidence interval is between 2 to 5 of proboscis monkeys and the 99% confidence interval is between 1 to 6 of proboscis monkeys.     Tanjung Belandang beach is an area which have potential and attractiveness as a tourist attraction. Natural tourist attraction located in area Tanjung Belandang beach which supported with existence of infrastructure, accommodation, accessibility, and so should be improved development especially if viewed from aspects of tourism. The method used is survey method with descriptive and used interview techniques with instrument a questionnaire. Analysis of data using analysis of Regional Operations Guidelines  and Nature Attractions Directorate General PHKA 2003 and SWOT Analysis. The result showed rating attraction tourism object Tanjung Belandang beach have value 491,22. After compared with the classification of business development of nature tourism, an area Tanjung Belandang beach have valuation medium (B). This means potential developed into a tourist attraction. Based on assessment for tourism development strategy Tanjung Belandang beach are in quadrant III (WO Strategy) is to maximize opportunities and minimize the threats that exist. As for the points for WO strategy namely: a. Increasing interest tourists to the marine tourism and need to improve the infrastructure supporting tourism facilities; b. Located close to the city center streets in tourist attraction areas need to be improved to provide comfort for visitors; c. Development of tourism as banana boat we need to prepare human resources capable to manage; d. Improve the facilities and infrastructure to support marine tourism; e. Need the support of local government in the development of marine tourism; f. Regional government must make policies to improve facilities and infrastructure so as to attract investor to invest.     SIFAT KIMIA BATANG KELAPA SAWIT (Elaeis guinensis Jacq) BERDASARKAN LETAK KETINGGIAN DAN KEDALAMAN BATANG Chemical Properties of Oil Palm Trunk (Elaeis guinensis Jacq) Based on Height and Depth of Trunk

    Research aimed to measure the chemical compound in oil palm stem (Elaeis guinensis Jacq) based on height (base, middle, top) and depth (side, medium and core). Chemical properties studied are hot water soluble extractives content, solubility in 1% NaOH, benzene-soluble alcohol, holocellulosa, alpha - cellulose and lignin content. The procedure based on ASTM D 1110 – 56. Result of research showed that the average value of the levels of extractive substances in hot water ranged from 11,963% -15.032%, the average value of extractive substances soluble in 1% NaOH was range from 16.639% -18.027% and the average value of the levels extractive soluble substances of alcohol benzene ranged from 8.552% -10.693%. Meanwhile the average of holocellulose levels ranged from 82.534% -88.328% and the average value of alpha cellulose content ranged from 11.243% -68.761%. The average value of the lignin content ranges between 6.213% -33.702%. Analysis of variance showed that height and depth of stem was not significance to the levels of extractive substances in hot water, extractive substances soluble in 1% NaOH, extractive soluble substances of alcohol benzene, and holocellulose content. Meanwhile for alpha cellulose was significant. The height of stem was highly significant effect to lignin content, meanwhile depth of stem was not significant.     Vitex pubescens Vahl is one of the many types of wood that grows in West Kalimantan. Vitex pubescens Vahl grow well in primary and secondary forests and on open lands burnt. People use Vitex pubescens Vahl for energy wood. The study of mycorrhizal fungi asosiation in Vitex pubescens Vahl aim to get the types of mycorrhizal and mycorrhizal density in Vitex pubescens Vahl stands. This research uses descriptive method by taking soil samples in the  rhizosfere some level Vitex pubescens Vahl tree poles and trees. At each stage of growth Vitex pubescens Vahl each taken 3 plants. The results obtained in the Vitex pubescens Vahl stands found that eight  morphotife. Obtain research results that the residual laban found eight CMA morfotipe spores which are all included in the genus Glomus. AMF spore density in stands of depth small trees   (0-10 cm) with a spore density of 28-78 with a mean of 40 the number of spores and depth (10-20 cm) with a spore density of 35-75 with a mean of 54 the number of spores at a level depth tree (0-10 cm) with a spore density of 25-65 with a mean of 54 the number of spores and depth (10-20 cm) with a spore density of 26-51 with a mean of 32 number of spores.     Diversity of tree species in peat swamp forest in the natural park Baning Kabupaten Sintang, until now unknow condition of tree species diversity and tree species, discruption of habitat as a result of plant. Therefore it is necessary to study diversity of tree species in peat swamp forest in the Natural Park Baning. General purpose research keanekaragaman want to know the level of woody plant species in peat swamp forest in the Natural Park Baning, species purpose like to obtain information about the type of dominant vegetation types. The length of time for two month to study the preparation of the thesis. Research using a survey method with the path system, where the manufacture of the plot carried out continuously on the path to the observation. Methods of data collection in this study consisted of primary and secondary data collection. Based on data obtained shows the composition and structure of tree plants whose value varies with the type contained in the peat swamp forest in The Natural Park Baning, the result of extensive research shows 3,64 ha with 3 lines of observations there were 39 species with a total of 985 individuals. 3 lines of the track I, II, III type which has the highest importance value index is engretak kind (Dipterocarpus grandiflorum) of 56,6166 % and the lowest importance value index obtained entepung kinds (Dillenia sp) of 0,2618%. of old data by Kayoman (2002) mentioned there are 57 types of trees, but that is only found in the current study 39 species only, meaning that there has been a decline.Consequently a decline in ecosystem function that threatens watersheds highly significant influence on the stands.     Development of botanical gardens as a government effort to maintain the natural resource ecosystems may be affected by changes in the condition and development of social behavior in the surrounding communities. The purpose of this study was to determine the public's perception of community Sabung village towards development botanical garden in Sambas district. Data were collected by survey method by interviewing people in two villages located in the village Sabung. Respondents were selected by purposive sampling. the community is more than 3 years residing in the village Sabung. The results showed that there are differences in the perception of the botanical garden development. The public has a positive perception, and being negative about the development of botanical gardens Sambas district. However, the overall development of society agrees with Sambas district botanical gardens and take positive impact on the forest and surrounding communities. This difference in perception may be due to differences in the level of knowledge and lack of socialization by took instance on the development and benefits of botanical gardens.     SIFAT FISIK DAN MEKANIK BATANG KELAPA SAWIT (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) BERDASARKAN PADA POSISI KETINGGIAN BATANG

    The research aims to determine the physical properties (moisture content, density and dimensional stability) and mechanical properties (modulus of elasticity, modulus of rupture, and modulus of crush stiffness) of Elaeis guineensis Jacq based on the position the trunk). The design used in the study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 replications and the factor is the position of the stem height (low, middle, and top) of oil palm (Elaeis guineesis Jacq). The results showed that height position have significant value to moisture content, MOR and MCS, but did not significantly affect the value of density, dimensional stability and MOE. The moisture content value was range from 38,49 % - 101,07 %, and the density value was range from 0,46 gr/cm3 – 0,62 gr/cm3, meanwhile the dimensional stability value was range from 11,54 % - 19,84 %. The modulus of elasticity value was range from 4456,77 gr/cm2 – 10062,40 gr/cm2, and modulus of rupture value was range from 108,20 gr/cm2 – 354,47 gr/cm2, meanwhile the modulus of crush stiffness value was range from 16,56 gr/cm2 – 69,96 gr/cm2. The research concluded that oil palm trunk in the low position have physical and mechanical properties better than in the middle and top, and enroll in class V of strongness and suitable for use as raw material for particle board or other composite products.     Forest in the area of IUPHHK (Timber Forest Product Utilization Permit) PT. Kalimantan Satya Kencana is one of the forest where located in the Melawi district that has high enough of flora diversity. The medicinal plants that is part of the biological germplasm. The purpose of this study this to determine the diversity of medicinal plants in secondary forest (slash ex 2008) at the area of IUPHHK PT. Kalimantan Satya Kencana Melawi District. This study used quadrant method with multiple plots. Purposive sampling it has chosen by observation in according to the local communities most numerous types of medical plants. There was 71 medicinal plants outside the plots founded in the observations. The dominance index (C) of the tree level = 0.108. Tree level (C) of = 0.238. Saplings (C) of = 0.83. Plant Nursery and Lower level (C) of = 0.042. Species Diversity Index (H) to the level of the tree = 1.017, for the level of the pole (H) at = 0.629, sapling level (H) at = 1.084 and lower levels, and Plant Nursery (H) at = 1.455. Wealth index type (d) at tree level of = 6.695. Pole at = 2.590 level. Of = 10,204 saplings, seedlings and undergrowth for 20,325. Abundance index type (e) at the tree level of = 0.937. Tree level index (e) of = 0.924. Saplings (e) = 0.968 for seedlings and understory plants (e) of = 0.887. can be seen that the dominance index (C) which is highest at the Stake level, the value of Species Diversity Index (H) Rate of Seedling and Understory Plants and Index Property Type (d) which is highest at the level of the Seedling  and Understory Plants, while the highest for the Abundance Index type (e) find at tree level.     The objective of this study was to determine the diversity of butterfly in freshwater swamp forest ecosystems and lowland forest in the village of two district Belitang . Belitang Sekadau regency . Butterflies potential data is indispensable for the development and management of the conservation and conservation of rare species of butterflies and endemic found . So it can be for managing the data and its development in the conservation of the rare butterfly and endemic. The results showed there were 24 species of butterflies are found in freshwater swamp forest ecosystems and lowland forest in two village of Belitang. Belitang Sekadau regency . Index of butterfly species diversity of habitats in the two studies have a range of values ??is from 1.00 to 1.17. Abundance index type (e) butterfly habitat in each study had a range of values ??from 0.71 to 0.85. Dominance index for each habitat research have range of values ??(C) = 0.06 to 0.11. Wealth type butterflies in lowland forest that is (D) = 6.63, while for freshwater swamp forest is (D) = 9.47. The similarity index type butterfly in two habitats have in common with the type of value that is ( CN ) = 0.35 or 35 % .     society with mangrove forest ecosystem and brackish forest ecosystem that raises the existence of public awareness in preserving the function of mangrove forest and brackish forest. The method used is survey method with descriptive associative and used interview techniques with instrument a questionnaire. There are two types of data analysis namely  descriptive analysis used to see the general description characteristic of respondents and the level of public awareness and inferential analysis used to know different levels of income people who worked as fishermen and does not worked as fishermen by using independent sample t-test and  to know the factors that affect the level of public awareness by using multiple linear regression models. The level of public awareness coastal in preserving function mangrove forest and brackish forest is tend high. The results of independent sample t-test indicated there was no significant difference between the average income levels of  people who worked as fishermen with an average income levels of people who does not worked  as fishermen. Based on the analysis used multiple linear regression models was knowledge variables and cosmopolitan variables significantly influence the level of public awareness, while age variables, income variables, and perceptons variable were not significantly influence the level of public awareness.
