BIOAKTIVITAS EKSTRAKTIF LARUT ETANOL KULIT BAKAU (Rhizophora apiculata Blume) TERHADAP RAYAP TANAH (Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren)
This research aimed to determine the effect of bioactivity and the optimum concentration of ethanol soluble extractives from bark of Rhizophora apiculata in control termites of Coptotermes curvignathus. In order to get a product new natural preservative in environmentally friendly. The experiment was used a method of a forced feeding test from added extract of the bark of R. apiculata that consisting of 6 level concentration is 0% control, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% and 10% by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The results showed that the concentration of 10% is the optimal concentration to inhibit the attack of subterranean termites that can deliver the highest mortality rate (100%) and the lowest weight loss of the paper test (35.21%). The results analysis of variety was showed that the extract of the paper test has a significant influence on mortality of termites C. curvignathus and has a significant effect on weight loss of the paper test. Extract Bark of R. apiculata with a concentration of 10% can be used as a potential natural preservative wood. Keywords: Bioactivity, ethanol, concentration, bark of mangrove, Coptotermes curvignathu
KEANEKARAGAMAN DAN POTENSI JENIS VEGETASI PENYUSUN HUTAN TEMBAWANG AMPAR DI DESA CEMPEDAK KECAMATAN TAYAN HILIR KABUPATEN SANGGAU
Tembawang Ampar is located at the Village of Cempedak, District of Tayan Sanggau. Human activities to use and manage of this tembawang affected the sustainability of the forest ecosystem. The objectives of this study is to determine the diversity, the potency and the most dominant species of tembawang Ampar forest. The research was conducted by applying survey method with stratified sampling. Within each stratum (1. dominated by fruit tree; 2. rubber; and 3. apik), we used survey technique with a combination of line transects method with systematic plot samplings). Our research indicated that there were 97 species of vegetation registered, which were grouped into 34 family. The analysis of the Shannon-Wiener diversity index showed that species diversity of forest vegetation within in the tembawang Ampar dominated by rubber and Apik plant is lower than fruit tree cover. The diversity Indexes of rubber and apik plat were H '<1, the while the area of fruit trees showed diversity Index between1 ≤ H '≤ 3. The most dominant species and the greatest potency in the tembawang Ampar forest is rubber plant (Hevea brasilliensis Will ex A. Juss) of family Euphorbiaceae. KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS TUPAI (Tupaiidae) DALAM KAWASAN GUNUNG SEMAHUNG DESA PALO’AN KECAMATAN SENGAH TEMILA KABUPATEN LANDAK Diversity Of Squirrel (Tupaiidae) in Mount Semahung Palo’an Village Sengah Temila Landak District
This study aims to determine the squirrel (Tupaiidae) species diversity in Hutan Lindung Gunung Semahung Palo'an Village Sengah Temila Landak District. Using line method, with length 500 m and width 100 m, the plots were taken purposively where the Tupaiidae is found. Tupaiidae identification using Mammals Field Guide (Payne et al,.1985), and local people. There are 3 species of Tupaiidae found in Hutan Lindung Gunung Semahung Palo'an Village namely: Tupaia minor, T.splendidula, T.gracilis, and total of 190 individuals. In the lowland area, there were 3 species of Tupaiidae were found (106 individuals), whereas in the hilly area 2 species were found (84 individuals), T.gracilis were not found in the hilly area. The Tupaiidae diversity in the area is low, showed by the diversity index below 1 (H=0,8950). Dominance index C=0,4383, means that more than one species of Tupaiidae are dominant in the area that is;T.minor and T.splendidula. Richness index D=1,5071. Evenness index is low (e=0.8146) means individuals of each species are not even, there are two dominant species (T.minor and T.splendidula), and the individuals of T.gracilis is low and only found in lowland area. Further observations are needed to obtain more comprehensive information about Tupaiidae. Keywords : Tupaiidae, species diversity, protection forest Mount Semahun
