SIKAP MASYARAKAT TERHADAP PERBURUAN DAN PERDAGANGAN ORANGUTAN (Pongo pygmaeus) DI DESA KEPARI KECAMATAN SUNGAI LAUR KABUPATEN KETAPANG
Borneo orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) was the only great apes that lives in Asia, one of in Indonesia. The Kepari village was one of distribution of orangutans in West Borneo, but the number of wild populations always decreased, based on the red list issued by IUCN in 2015, orangutan defined as animals that have endangered status, in addition to the orangutan was also listed in Appendix I CITES which means both animals and all products derived therefrom should not be traded anywhere. Success or failure of conservation undertaken by the government can’t be separated from the attitude of the community. This study aims to determine how public attitudes toward hunting and trade of orangutans and analyze the relationship between attitudes towards hunting and trade of orangutans with the level of perception, knowledge, and cosmopolitan. The results showed that people tend neutral attitude towards hunting and trade of orangutans, and the results of the analysis showed that the level of perception, knowledge, and cosmopolitan associated with public attitudes toward hunting and trade of orangutans. STUDI PEMANFAATAN ROTAN OLEH MASYARAKAT SETEMPAT PADA KAWASAN HUTAN DI DESA KASROMEGO KECAMATAN BEDUAI KABUPATEN SANGGAU
Rattan is a source of biological in Indonesia and usually referred to as a potential non-timber for forest products (NTFP). This research aims to determine the species of rattan used by the people in Kasromego village of Beduai Subdistrict, Sanggau regency, and the processing of each species of rattan and parts used by the community. The method used was descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. The qualitative approach in this study is to provide a description of the data events based on facts with direct interview techniques with a number of respondents to obtain answers. Sampling was done through snowball sampling method. The results of the study show that the villagers of Kasremego take advantage of as many as 7 species of rattan, namely: saga ( Calamus caesius Blume ), marau ( Karthalsia rigida Blume ), halus ( Karthalsia perox Becc ), irit ( Calamus trachycoleus Becc), semut ( Korthalsia sescaphigera Mart ), sanjat ( Calamus paspalantus Becc ) and samere ( Plectomiopsis mira J. Dransf ) As for the parts of rattan used are for the semut rattan, the innermost frond is used for food of vegetables. Tha rattan used to make ropes is the halus rattan, the part of this rattan used is the trunk. For customary/religious ceremonies, typically the people used the halus rattan, and the part of rattan used is the leaf. Keywords: Rattan, research method, rattan specie
FAKTOR PENDUKUNG PENGEMBANGAN OBYEK WISATA AIR TERJUN MANANGGAR DI DUSUN TAUK KECAMATAN AIR BESAR KABUPATEN LANDAK
Tourism is one of the most important industries to boost a country advancement. Thriving tourism has a big role in the economic, social, cultural development. Indonesian tourism industry has a growth rate of 7.2% per year which surpasses the world tourism industry by 4.7% (Legal and Public Communication of Tourism Ministry 2015). Tourist attraction is a form of activity and facility which are interrelated, and able to attract tourists to visit a particular place. Accessibility in Mananggar Waterfall tourist attraction is not certain whether it affects the level of tourist visit, so further assessment is needed which aims to determine the supporting factors, development, perception regarding the Mananggar Waterfall tourist attraction. This research was conducted at Nyiut Mountain nature reserve. This research showed the highest score of the element and sub elements that have been rated regarded elements of variation of activities showing the highest score of 29.84% with percentage of 15.29%. While the lowest scores of elements and sub elements of location cleanliness of 17.9% with percentage of 12.42%. Research findings showed that the overall elements and sub elements were rated equal to 156.04. The results can be multiplied with weight of the scores for Mananggar Waterfall with overall score of 156.04 x 6 = 936.24. PENGARUH PUPUK ORGANIK KOTORAN SAPI TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN NYAMPLUNG (Calophyllum inophyllum Linn) PADA TANAH ULTISOL
The research on the effect of organic fertilizer of cow dung on the growth of nyamplung (Calophyllum inophyllum Linn) on Ultisol, aims to determine the effect of fertilization on seedling the growth of nyamplung seedling using organic fertilizer of Cow dung, and to abtain the best comparison between Ultisol soil and organic fertilizer of cow dung. The method used in this research was an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD). The experiment design consisted of 6 fertilization treatments and each was repeated 5 times, the number of seed used in the research was 30 nyamplung plant seeds. The results showed that the edition of organic fertilizer of cow dung in the planting medium of Ultisol soil provided better results on the nyamplung plant growth especially the growth in high, diameter, number of leaves and dry weight than only using PMK (Red Yellow Podsolik ) soil. The best growth of nyamplung plant was the addition of organic fertilizer of cow dung in the treatment at a ratio of 1: 5 (K5 compared with no treatment (control) and other treatments. STABILITAS DIMENSI KAYU KARET (Hevea brasiliensis, Muell. Arg) BERDASARKAN POSISI KETINGGIAN PADA BATANG DAN SUHU PENGERINGAN
AbstractThis research was carried out in the Wood Workshop Faculty of forestry University of Tanjungpura to manufacture test and example in the lab Silvikultur for testing the stability of dimension lumber, Wood is a material that besifat hygroscopic materials that can absorb and remove water depending on the environment. The test sample is inserted into each of the oven with a temperature of 500C, 700C, and 900C until it weighs the constant. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of the position on the stem height and temperature of drying as well as the interaction of these two factors the dimension stability of wood against the Rubber as well as knowing the position on the stem height and the most appropriate drying temperature so that it can show the highest dimensional stability. The results of the research on the radial direction indicates that the value of moisture content ranged from 9.8394%-10.3484% increase of the drying temperature decreases. While the value of density showed no noticeable difference i.e. ranged from 0.8188%-0.7669%. Depreciation value dimensions vary greatly on the position of the height of the stem that is ranged from 1.2189%.-3.1405%. Research on tangential direction indicates that the value of moisture content ranged from 9.9894%-14.6225% increase of the drying temperature decreases. While the value of density showed no noticeable difference i.e. value 0.7390%-0.8143%. Value changes in dimensions ranging from 1.1594%-2.1629%. IDENTIFIKASI MORFOLOGI SERANGGA BERPOTENSI SEBAGAI HAMA DAN TINGKAT KERUSAKAN PADA BIBIT MERANTI MERAH (Shorea leprosula) DI PERSEMAIAN PT. SARI BUMI KUSUMA
The development of plantations frequently faces technical obstacles, such as the the threat of insect pests. Therefore, pest control is very essential to support the success of development. The investigation is aimed to identify and toget the types of insects that have potential as pests and the level of damage to red timber seed (Shorea Lepsrosula Mig). The study was conducted for 3 months, starting from August to October in the seedbed of PT. Sari Bumi Kusuma, West Kalimantan. The research was conducted through survey on bedside observation. The determination of the beds was employed by purposive sampling i.e the first bed was +6 months old, the second bed was +11 months old, the third bed was +4 months and the fourth bed was +10 months old. The total number of plants observed was 1957 plants. The identification resulted in types of insect pests; 2 orders consisting of 5 families and 5 types of pest insects namely Gryllus mitratus (Cricket), Valanga nigricornis (Grasshoper), Lymantria marginalis (Caterpillar), Spodoptera litura (Taro caterpillar), Pteroma plagiophlps (Bagworm). The symptoms of pest-attacked plants are hollowed leaves, bite marks ranging from the leaf edge to the leaf bone and there is a truncated stem part of the plant. The percentage of plants affected by pest attacks ranged between 10.19% - 56.15% with the average percentage of 23.93% for crop damage categorized as light. The average damage rate ranged from 4.44% to 27.12%. The average rate of crop damage was 10.95% categorized as light damage. Although the level of damage is considered mild but controlling and handling efforts need to be performed in the form of pest eradication that is both mechanically and chemically conducted.Keywords: Morphology Identification, Pest insect, Seeding, Shorea leprosul
PENGENDALIAN HAYATI PATOGEN BUSUK AKAR (Ganoderma sp.) PADA ACACIA MANGIUM DENGAN Trichoderma spp. ISOLAT LOKAL SECARA IN VITRO
Acacia mangium is one of the favorite types of plants in HTI, but in its growth often occurs root rot disease. Ganoderma sp. is one of the root causes of root rot disease. Control can use biological agents such as Trichoderma local isolates. This study aims to determine the power of antagonists and get the best local Trichoderma isolates to control root rot by Ganoderma with in vitro method. The research was conducted at Silviculture Laboratory of Faculty of Forestry, Tanjungpura University for 4 months. The method used is an experimental method. Consists of isolation and characterization of isolates Ganoderma sp. And Trichoderma spp. antagonist test against Ganoderma sp. local isolate Trichoderma spp. consists of 4 treatments namely Trichoderma sp1 (T1), Trichoderma sp2 (T2), Trichoderma sp3 (T3), Trichoderma sp4 (T4). Each treatment was placed in conjunction with Ganoderma sp. On top of the PDA. An antagonistic test was performed with a completely Randmized Design pattern. Each treatment was repeated 3 times so that there were 15 experimental units. The result of the antagonistic inhibitory test of Trichoderma sp. Against Ganoderma sp. Shows a different percentage of inhibition. The percentage of inhibition on T1 treatment was 58.06%, T2 was 43.80%, T3 was 48.11% and T4 was 38.09%. The result of variance analysis showed the treatment of isolate Trichoderma spp. Has no significant effect on inhibiting root rot disease pathogen caused by Ganoderma sp. IDENTIFIKASI JENIS TUPAI (Tupaia Sp) DI KAWASAN HUTAN ADAT BUKIT SAGU DESA SUNGAI SENA KECAMATAN SILAT HILIR KABUPATEN KAPUAS HULU
Bukit Sagu Community Forest, Sungai Sena Village, Silat Hilir District, Kapuas Hulu Regency is one of the forest with natural resources diversity richness. The wildlife that live and thrive in the indigenous forest is a kind of squirrel. Squirrel one of animal which important for the ecology function, so we need to do research on "Identification of the Squirrel species (Tupaia sp) In Indigenous Forest Region Bukit Sagu Sungai Sena village, Silat Hilir District of Kapuas Hulu Regency". The method used is a survey method, determining the location of the observations done purposive sampling by trapping. Identification the species of squirrel is done by means of measurement based on the Payne et. al, (1999). Method the number of squirrels have been found during the research in the area of Bukit Sagu Community Forest Sungai Sena, Village Silat Hilir District, Kapuas Hulu Regency, namely 92 individuals, consisting of three species of squirrels, the squirrel beautiful (Tupaia splendidula) as much as 42 individual, squirrel mountain (Tupaia montana ) 11 individual, and ground squirrels (Tupaia tana) were 39 individual. KEARIFAN LOKAL MASYARAKAT DESA SIDAHARI KECAMATAN JELAI HULU KABUPATEN KETAPANG DALAM PENGELOLAAN TEMBAWANG
The main challenge in the protection and management of forests in Indonesia often comes from people living around the forest. Ethnic Dayak Jelai are an indigenous ethnic group of the Jelai Comunity in Sidahari village which inhabiting the area around Tembawang in Jelai Hulu of Ketapang Regency. This study aims to explore the local wisdom of community in Sidahari Village, Jelai Hulu Subdistrick, Ketapang Regency on Tembawang management. The data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation of the relevant objects, and samples were taken with a snow-ball technique sampling. The results of the research showed 3 (three) forms of local wisdom in the village of Sidahari in the management and utilization of Tembawang. The first was the traditional ceremony of “ Pa Alapan Buah”which held when durian and other fruit trees such as langsat, duku, rambutan, asam bacang, asam mbawang, begin to enter flowering period. The second was traditional ceremony of “Menjangkap” which representatif traditional ceremony performed before in the fruits (durian) fall, i.e. before harvesting begins/ or before climbing of durian trees. The third was the traditional ceremony of “Senggayong” which implemented during the abudance of fruit season and all fruit trees in the Tembawang already producing dense of fruit efforts in the managemnt, maintenace, develompment and preservation of Tembawang conducted with activities in the form of weeding (slashing) and fogging the area around Tembawang during fruit season or after fruit season. The other forms of local wisdom related to management Tembawang in the village of Sidahari are in the form of applying customary law for each violation be it intentionally or unintentionally damaging or cutting down fruit trees within the Tembawang. KUALITAS PAPAN KOMPOSIT KULIT BATANG SAGU (Metroxylon sp) DAN LIMBAH PLASTIK POLIPROPILENA BERDASARKAN PENAMBAHAN COMPATIBILIZER
Wood is a basic requirement in the industrial activity such as constructions and furniture. While timber production decreased so that required an efficient utilization of wood. The solution to overcome this problem is use of sago bark in the form of composite board. Plastic is a material consisting of artificial inorganic chemicals are quite harmful to the environment so it is necessary to increase the value of plastic. In the process of making composite board using compatibilizer to improve the bonding between the fibers. The study aims to determine the quality of the composite board made from sago bark and polypropylene plastic waste based on addition of compatibilizer. Percentage of compatibilizer used 0%, 2,5%, and 5% of the weight of the plastic. Composite board size was 30 cm x 30 cm x 1 cm with a target density of 0.7g/cm3 at compression 25 kg/cm2 with temperature 180ºC for 10 minutes. Evaluation the physical properties (density, moisture content,thickness swelling and water absorption ) and mechanical properties (modulus of elasticity, modulus of rupture, internal bonding and strong hold the screws) was conducted according to standard JIS A 5908-2003. The result of research showed that the highest quality of composite board was achieved on the highest addition with percentage compatibilizer 5%.
