    The growth of agarwood in open area still not maximum, because agarwood is semitolerance that can not planted in open area, especially at the beginning of its growth. I need to be given some of treatments. The aim of this study to obtain information about mycorrhizal treatment and determine shade intensity to enhance the growth of agarwood (Aquilaria spp) in open area. The research work employed Split Plot Design with Randomized Block Design (RBD) which treatment factors are the type of shading as (main plot) and Arbuskula Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) as (sub plot). Variable observation: the growth of height, diameter, number of leaves and percentage of plant life agarwood. The result showed that Mycorrhizal treatment unsignificantly affects to height, diameter, and percentage of plant life, but significantly affect to a number of leaves. The best shade types are 60% paranet and vegetation shade to growth diameter and percentage of plant life. The interaction of plant with AMF under shade showed unsignificantly affect to growth agarwood. Keyword: Agarwood, Arbuskula Mycorrhizal Fungi and shad

    Disturbance to protected areas Nyiut Mountain Nature Reserve from the village who lives close to the nature reserve, one of which is the village Pisak. Almost all conservation areas in Indonesia are in a strong pattern of interaction with the people living around them. Where the people living around the conservation area still rely on life in the forest. One of the activities undertaken by BKSDA as a form of activities in forest conservation is to make the Model Village Conservation Village as one of the first step in the community empowerment that is located around the conservation area of Gunung Nyiut Nature Reserve. The method used was a survey method with interview-assisted questionnaire. Determination of the number of respondents using Slovin formula and its determition by purposive sampling. Data analysis using Chi Square formula. Perception of community pisak village towards Management of Village Conservation Models in Nyiut Mountain Nature Reserve tend to be different. Perception of community on the management of conservation village ,odels are likely to be positive. It is proven that as many as 39 respondents ( 44,32 %) has a positive perception on the management of the Village Conservation Model conducted in Pisak village, in addition to greatly helping the community burden to get clean water, also assist in the preservation of the area they occupy today. There is a significant correlation between knowledge and cosmopolitan factors with community perception factor, but there is no correlation between age factor and perception of Pisak villagers towards the management of Village Conservation Model conducted in Pisak village.Keywords: Model Desa Konservasi, Perception, Pisak Village

    Agarwood grows well if they are planted using appropriate technique. The research work aimed at finding information on the growth of Agarwood (Aquilaria spp) by giving mulching and shades on ultisol soil. This research work employed split plot design using a randomized block design consisting of types of shade (N) as main plot, mulching (M) as additional plot and the treatment was done for three times. The parameter being observed was height, diameter, number of leaves, and life expectancy of Agarwood. Shade factor consisted of three types; namely open shade (N1), paranet 60% (N2) and natural shade (N3). Mulching consisted of two types; without mulching (M0) and mulching (M1). The research findings showed that mulching (M1) had a significant effect on height, diameter, and leaves of Agarwood (Aquilaria spp). In addition, paranet 60% (N2) gave a very significant effect on life expectancy and had significant effect on diameter and leaves of Agarwood. Natural shade (N3) treatment impacted significantly on life expectancy of Agarwood while open shade treatment also had a significant impact on leaves of Agarwood. Paranet 60% and mulching (N2M1) treatment suggested a good growth on Agarwood. Keywords: Agarwood, growth, mulching, shade, and ultiso

    Biodegradable plastic is a plastic that can be used like conventional plastic, the advantage of plasticis it can be destroyed by the activity of microorganisms become water and carbon diokside. Utilization of Polylactic acid (PLA) as alternative material is conventional plastic is very potential because PLA has decomposble properties in the nature and can be made from renewable sources. Besides the advantage of PLA is easily decomposed and made from renewable sources, PLA also has the weakness such as fragile, therefore adding a plasticizer glycerol is needed. In this researh biodegradableplastic was made by using PLA and glycerol. Glycerol was added of 0, 10, 20 and 30 PHR (Per Hundreet Resin). Testingwas done by using Universal Testing Machine Merk Shimadzu load-cell speed 1 mm/minute and gauge lenght 70 mm based on standard ASTM D-638-02a. Lenght of sample 110 mm, widht 6 mm thick 0,7 mm. This experiment was repitation from three replications. The result of research showed that the highest value of tensile strenght and MOE composit PLA was note in the composite of PLA with out glycerolwith values 44,03 MPa and 3,39 GPa respetivelly.Keyword : Glycerol, Mechanical Properties, Plastic Biodegradable, Polylactic Acid Composite

    This study aims to determine the effect of stem height position, drying temperature and the interaction of both factors. factorial experiment method in the Completely Randomized Design (RAL) it is consists of two factors treatment with three timer repetitions. Tha’s factor is the Position of the height of the tree trunk that conret of 3 sub factors namely the base of the stem, the middle of the stem and the top of the stem. Drying of Temperature consist of 3 sub factors is 550C, 700C and 850C. The average result of the dimension changiry on the highest radial is in the middle of the stem with the drying temperature 850C is 2.0740% and the lowest is the base of the stem with drying temperature of 700C is 1.0667%. While the highest tangential of dimension is in the base of the stem with drying temperature 550C is 2.9598% and the lowest is in the position of stem with drying temperature 550C is 1.1163%. Based on the research the position of the height stem and the drying temperature is having the real effect, on the dimension of the wood with the height of the stem. However the high of drying temperature is not inflounce no the value of depreciation of ratio. The best Dimension Stability is on the top of the stem, in the drying temperature 550C, with the ratio’s result tangensial depriciation 0,87. While in the dry condition, the lowest ratio’n is in the middle of the stem in 700C temperature is 0.62.     This study aimed to determine total carbon stock on one to five years old (Rhizophora apiculata BL) trees stand planted in IUPHHK PT. Bina Ovivipari Semesta. This study was conducted over five months on the purposively selected area of forest rehabilitation. This study applied harvested method for 1-3 years old and non-harvested method for 5 years old bakau trees that selected with purposive sampling method. The results showed that the bakau stand has an ability to store very high carbon. The amount of carbon stored in 1 year, 3 years and 5 years of bakau stand were 42.06, 57.93 and 65.91 tonnes ha-1.     Nusapati village is one of the villages located in Subdistrict of Sungai Pinyuh Mempawah Regency. Currently, the depth of the river in Nusapati village is only 5.3 meters. This situation resulted in flooding and a negative impact on economic activities of the fishing communities around Nusapati River. This change is caused by the sedimentary material carried by the flow of the river from inland or carried by the currents of the sea. Another factor affecting the sedimentation in the estuary of the river, among others: the activities of the wave and current patterns. The problem is not known as to how much of the sediment in the river estuary of Nusapati village. This aims to measure the dissolved sediment in the estuary of Nusapati village of Sungai Pinyuh Subdistrict in Mempawah Regency. The sampling method in this study used a purposive sampling method. This research was carried out using direct measurement at the estuary of the river to get the data on the flow rate and sediment concentration. Samples of sediment concentrations were analyzed in the laboratory. The results showed that the value of dissolved sediment concentration ​​obtained was quite high at the location, namely when the tide is low that is 53.567 mg/L at point 3A. The dissolved sediment was considered good. The highest concentration of dissolved sediment value was equal to 53.567 mg/L at the location of point 3 was at point 3C and the lowest value of 0,550 mg/L on the location of point 1 namely at the point A1 during low tide conditions. The flow rate ​​at point 3 namely 3C was at 0.083 m/second, while at the location of point 1 namely 1A at 0.092 m/second. During low tide, the highest flow rate value was 0.092 m/second at location 1 the highest flow rate value was 0.076 at location 2. Keywords: Dissolved Sediment, Estuary, Nusapati village

    The society of Kayu Baong Hamlet utilizes a special plantation of reproductive health as a traditional medicine that has been used inherited. The purpose for knowing the cultivation of the pharmacy and the exploiting, the treatment for the health of reproductive health. This research is descriptive, using the snowboll sampling  technique which is one of the most commonly used methods performed in chains by requesting information on the sample people. The data of the research result are covering genes of plants, health benefits, parts used, processing, directions in use. The results obtained in the field of plant genes used by the community of Kayu Baong Village Pekawai Village, Sayan Sub-district of Melawi Regency, obtained 23 species of medicinal fish from 21 family and if in groups based on habitat in face herbal most widely utilize asobat, based on the parts that are used by many people who usetheit of 10 species (47,82) and from the way of processing was the way boiled more widely used that is as much as 10 spesies (43.47%) based on its use, it turns out by way of drinking more that is 13 spesies (56.53%), and from the way the use of drugs was to treat bleeding after childbirth and at least.     The red jabon (Anthocephalus macrophyllus) is one type that has an important role in the forest and land rehabilitation activities, beacause the cycle is shorter so it can provide high production in short time. The purpose of this research is to get the dose of appropriate NPK fertilizer for the red jabon growth on mixed media ultisol soil, compost and sand. The problem is how many doses of NPK fertilizer should be given to the plant. This research is an experimental research prepared using Completely Random Design methode that which consisted of 6 treatment with 4 replication so there is a 24 unit experiments. Treatment without fertilizer is control (P0), fertilizer treatment of NPK with the dose 0,5 g plant/(P1), fertilizer treatment of NPK with the dose 1 g/plant (P2), fertilizer treatment of NPK with the dose 1.5 g/plant (P3), fertilizer treatment of NPK with the dose 2 g/plant (P4), fertilizer treatment of NPK with the dose 2,5 g/plant (P5). The result of research  showed treatment of giving NPK fertilizer with the kinds of dose on the red Jabon seed with mix media of ultisol soil, compost and sand (2:1:1) not yet the real effect to height, diameter and number of leaves.Keywords: compost, NPK, red jabon

    Forest in indonesia has a  potential of non-timber forest products. Non-Timber Forest Products (NTEP) are still less optimally utilized because forest management has been oriented to timber forest products. Rattan is one source of biodiversity in Indonesia and is the result of non-timber forest potential. In rural areas, rattan is used by the community as a woven material, ropes, etc. This study aims to determine the economic values of rattan used by the community, determine the species of rattan used by the community and determine the number of derivative products genered by the people in Suruh Tembawang village, Sanggau regency. This research used a descriptive method involving the community as respondents. The results showed that there are five species of rattan that ordinary people use for woven materials such as Arit Rattan,  Saga Rattan, Manau Rattan, Udang Rattan and Semut Rattan. The products are usually sold at a price of for bidai weaving,  for penyakin weaking and for bakul weaking
