KETAHANAN SEMAI AKASIA (Acacia mangium) PADA VARIASI UMUR TERHADAP INFEKSI Ganoderma spp.
AbstractGanoderma is a pathogen cause rot root desease which attack the plant with a wide range of ages. It is necessary to do research to know level of acacia plant resistance at 1 month and 3 months on Ganoderma infection. The research aims was to determine the effect of Ganodermainfecton on acacia resistance at the age of 1 month and 3 month. The research used a factorial completely randomized design which consist of two treatment factor namely Ganoderma and age of seedling. Ganoderma treatment is control (G0), Ganoderma from palm oil (G1), Ganoderma from the acacia host (G2), Ganoderma from the rubber host (G3). The age treatment of seedling is 1 month acacia seedlings and 3 month acacia seedlings. Each treatment was repeated 3 times with 4 plants per replication resulting in 96 experimental units. Research observation variable is desease severty index by in vivo and dry weight of the plant. The result showed Ganoderma is pathogenic in 1 month acacia seedling with a severity index value of 0,6 and 3 month acacia seedling with a severity index value of 1. Dry weight of plant control treatment of acacia seedling age 3 months higher than other treatment that is 11,27. 3 month old acacia seedlings are more susceptible and rapidly cause symptoms of Ganoderma infection than 1 month old acacia seedlings. Data analysis is used to calculate the Important Value Index based on the density, frequency and dominance values and determine the forest structure. The results showed that the species composition of peat swamp forests consisted of : (a) at the level of seedlings dominated by Ubar Jambu (Syzygium sp), (b) level of sapling dominated by Jampang (Melicope lunuankenda (Gaertn) TG Hartley) (c) the level of pole by the Mentibu (Dactylocladus stenostachys Oliver), and (d) the tree level by Nyatoh Ketiu (Madhuca motleyana). The vegetation structure of the overall peat swamp forest almost entirely forms a normal stand, but the number of individuals at the seedling and stake level is still low. Keywords: forest strutkur, peat swamp forest, species composition
KEANEKARAGAMAN VEGETASI PADA HUTAN ADAT BUKIT TUNGGAL DI DESA BATU NANTA KECAMATAN BELIMBING KABUPATEN MELAWI
The existence of indigenous forest is very important as it constitutes a source of the see-producing area and can be also user as a research site. Unfortunately, the information about types of vegetation in the area of Bukit Tunggal forests is relatively scarce. This research aims to describe the vegetation diversity in Bukit Tunggal forests and to identify types of vegetation which are the most dominant in the area. This research was conducted for 4 week in the indigenous forest of Bukit Tunggal at Batu Nanta Village, Belimbing sub-district, Melawi. A survey method was employed in this research through a vegetation analysis with a line of terrace. The research was carried out by creating 3 lanes with the length and distance of each lanes varied depending on the condition of the field. Results of the discussion showed that there were 77 types of vegetation which could be grouped into 37 families ranging from a seedling stage (including lower plants, shrubs, bushes, and lianas), stapling, poles, to trunks. The vegetation diversity in Bukit Tunggal forests indicated that the area had a high diversity with a good conservation value. In addition, the forests has various germplasms. Results of a quantitative analysis of crucial value index (INP) at every growth level in general was dominated by meranti (Shorea spp.) of Dipterocarpaceae family. There needs, therefore, efforts to preserve the existence of this area in addition to the current conservation which has been planned and executed well, for example by enriching types and rehabilitation. Keywords: Indigenous forests of Bukit Tunggal, diversity, crucial value index, and type domination
