PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT DESA NUSAPATI TERHADAP KEBERADAAN HUTAN MANGROVE KECAMATAN SUNGAI PINYUH KABUPATEN MEMPAWAH
The purpose of this research is to know the local people’s perception toward the existence of mangrove forest and to know the relationship from the factor of age, knowledge, cosmopolitan and income with the people’s perception of mangrove forest in Sungai Pinyuh Subdistrict, Mempawah District. This research used a survey method with interview technique. The respondents were sampled by purposive sampling. The number of sample was a hundred respondents. The respondensts were taken from three subvillage that are Subvillage I, Subvillage II, and Subvillage III. The data were analyzed by associative descriptively and using chi kuadrad. The results of this research are : The existence of mangrove forest, with the value count = 57,25 > 0,05 = 5,591 shows that there is a high relationship the existence of mangrove forests. The age level with the value count = 2,98 0,05 = 9,488, shows that it is acceptable or there is a relationship the existence of mangrove forests. For the cosmopolite level with the value count = 3,04 < 0,05 = 9,488, shows that it is unacceptable or there is no relationship the existence of mangrove forests. and the income know level with the value count = 3,93 < 0,05 = 9,488 shows that it is unacceptable or there is no relationship the existence of mangrove forests. STUDI PEMANFAATAN ROTAN OLEH MASYARAKAT DI DESA SEKILAP KECAMATAN MANDOR KABUPATEN LANDAK
Forest has the potential to meet various human needs such as food, medicine, boards, handicrafts and others. Non timber forest products used by the community in Landak regency are bamboo, rattan, fruit and many kind products. The purpose of research is to describe the types of rattan plants and to describe the benefits of rattan crops in the community of Sekilap village, Mandor district, Landak regency. Methods used in this research survey method to the forest and in-depth interview to the community in Sekilap village. Sekilap village consists of 6 sub village, namely Pangkalatn sub village, Sekilap sub village, Mangke sub village, Buluh sub village, Penawar sub village, dan Baet sub village. The result of the research showed that four rattans used in the community of Sekilap village. The rattan is Rotan Kertong with local name Uwi Tangga Langit (Myrialepis paradoxa), Rotan Taman with local name Uwi Palades (Calamus caesius Blume), Rattan Semambu with local name Uwi Samamok (Calamus scipionum Lour), and Rattan Sega Ayer with the local name Uwi Saga (Calamus axillaris Becc.). Rattan used for craft materials, binding material, basket, bag, chairs, mat, and handcraft. The community used rattan from the forest near their village. KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS TEGAKAN HUTAN TEMBAWANG DI DESA SEHE LUSUR KECAMATAN KUALA BEHE KABUPATEN LANDAK
Tembawang is a form of management area conducted by Dayak tribe community in West Kalimantan. By the aspect of local wisdom, tembawang is a tribute, moral ethics of ancestral values, inheritance of ownership to its descendants, and as knowledge in understanding the types of trees which is used as a reference of ownership if the original tree die, as economic aspect, tembawang is a source of community nutrition but its utilization is limited to house hold consumption and the economic value is relatively smaller. The forming of tembawang is done after farmers have shifting cultivation, where before leaving their former land they planted various kinds of timbers, fruits, sap, and spices as medicinal plants. Information on the diversity of tembawang timber stands has not been widely known yet. The research aims to obtain information about the diversity of tembawang timber standing stock and the dominant tree species in the Village of Sehe Lusur Sub District of Kuala Behe District of Landak. The research was conducted in the Village of Sehe Lusur Sub District of Kuala Behe District of Landak for ± 4 weeks, from August 2016 until done. Data collection in the field using mixed method of transect and line plots by census in three different tembawang namely Nanga Ngundul, Sungai Babi, and Nanga Ngasap. The research result shows that stands are found for all growth rates of 34 species. The most dominant number with the highest INP value of the seedling level is Kelampai (Elateriospermum tapos), the largest sapling is Durian (Durio zibethinus), stands whose in medium pole are Melaban (Vitex pinnata), and the stands classified as tree is Krikik.Keywords: Biodiversity, Desa Sehe Lusur, Forest, Stand, Tembawang
KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS TUMBUHAN BERPOTENSI MENJADI TANAMAN HIAS PADA KAWASAN HUTAN LINDUNG GUNUNG BAWANG KABUPATEN BENGKAYANG
The area of Gunung Bawang Protected Forest has diverse natural resources. One of them is the potential ornamental plant. This research aims to reveal the diversity of plants that could potentially be ornamental plants in the area of Gunung Bawang Protected Forest.This research was conducted with a survey method by taking sample plots of Wittaker 20 x 50 m as many as 10 plots of observation. Based on the research, the area of Gunung Bawang Protected Forest had 23 species of plants that could potentially be ornamental plants, namely Caladiuim sp, Cordiglotti sfiliformis, Drynaria sparsisora, Appendicula torta, Alocasiaplumbea ”white’’, Liparis compressa, Bulboppylum sp, Thecopus sp, Thecostele sp, Bulbophyllum lobii, Dendrobium smithiaanum, Phalaenopsis sp, Coelogyne foerstermannii, Asplenium nidus, Oberonia ciliolata, Hermamolena sp, Alocasia inornata, Alocasia sp, Alocasia ‘’tigrina superba’’, Anthurium sp, Alocasia culionensis, Flickingeria sp dan Spathoglottis plicata. There needs to be improvement of knowledge and awareness among the community about the existence and spesies of plants thet potentially become ornamental plants, because it is one of the sources of germ plasm so as to ensure its sustainability. KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS RAYAP DI KEBUN KELAPA SAWIT PT. BUMI PRATAMA KHATULISTIWA KECAMATAN SUNGAI AMBAWANG KABUPATEN KUBU RAYA
Subterranean termites has found as a pest in oil palm plantation. The research aimed to identification the subterranean termites which attack in oilpalm plantation of PT Bumi Pratama Khatulistiwa. The site place was in oilpalm plantation in Sungai Ambawang Subdistrict, Kubu Raya Regency. Field collection of termites was conducted in three block which high severe by termites attack. Result of the research showed that three termites species was found. The first species was Coptotermes sp, found in all three blocks. The second species was Schedorhinotermes sp found in two block of site reseacrh. The last species was Microtermes sp. All the termites was catagorize as subterranean termites. The termites found in oilpalm tree and in dead wood around the oilpalm tree. It is necessary to conduct the regular monitoring to prevent termites attack in oilpalm plantation. EFISIENSI PEMBERIAN PUPUK KOTORAN KAMBING UNTUK PEMBIBITAN PENAGE (Calophyllum inophyllum Linn)
Penage (Calophyllum inophyllum Linn) is one type of alternative forest fuel crops (biofuel). The natural regeneration condition of penage that decreases requires cultivation development effort. This research aimed to detecting effect and dose giving of goat manure which appropriative to produce good quality penage seedling. The method used is the experimental method with Completely Randomized Design. Treatment of goat manure dose is 0 gram/polybag, 50 gram/polybag, 150 gram/polybag, 250 gram/polybag and 350 gram/polybag. Parameters observed were height, diameter, amount of leaves, total dry matter, top and root ratio and seedling quality index. The results showed goat manure gave significantly effected on increase height and diameter penage seedling at 14 weeks. While on the amount of leaves, total dry matter, top and root ratio and seedling quality index not significant. Application of goat manure with a dose of 250 gram/polybag is an efficient dose to increase penage growth and is recommended for penage seedling activities.Keywords : Eficiency, goat manure, growht, penag
KEARIFAN LOKAL MASYARAKAT DALAM MENGENDALIKAN API PADA AKTIVITAS LADANG BERPINDAH DI DESA PALA PULAU KECAMATAN PUTUSSIBAU UTARA KABUPATEN KAPUAS HULU
Local wisdom are any form of knowledge, belief, understanding or insight and habits or ethics that guide human behavior in life in an ecological community. This research was conducted in the village of Pala Island District of Putussibau North Kapuas Hulu Regency. The study aims to find out the form of local wisdom in the way of choosing land, clearing land and controlling the fire in the activity of the shifting cultivation. Factors measured in this study were: experience, age, education and length of stay in the village of Pala Pulau District of Putussibau North Kapuas Hulu, the sample was taken by purposive sampling technique. Primary data collection through direct interviews of 87 respondents through questionnaires. Data were analyzed using Chi Square analysis. Local knowledge and local ecological communities are still practiced by the community, in shifting cultivation activities such as land selection, land clearing and fire control in the form of techniques, rituals and certain rules in practice, this lesson is passed down from generation to generation to them. Villagers of Pala Pulau are still dependent on their life by shifting cultivation for their daily needs by utilizing the fertility of the land they are working on. SIKAP MASYARAKAT TERHADAP HUTAN MANGROVE DI DUSUN PARIT PANGERAN DESA TANJUNG SALEH KECAMATAN SUNGAI KAKAP KABUPATEN KUBU RAYA
The mangrove forest is a community plant or an individual plant species that form a community of mangrove ecosystem in coastal area. This ecosystem has unique characteristics, distinctive and has the potential of biological richness. Coastal marine ecosystem is a natural resource that is productive as a provider of energy for community life in it. Tanjung Saleh village in Sungai Kakap district Kubu Raya regency has a mangrove forest which cover around 5000 hectare. The community in Tanjung Saleh village especially in Sub village Parit Pangeran has utilized the mangrove forest resources to fulfill their daily needs. The vegetation consist of Avicenia sp, Bakau (Rhizophora sp), Berembang, Coconut, Umbal wood, and Nipah (Nypa fructicans). The research aimed to determine the perception and attitude of community in Parit Pangeran sub village towards mangrove forest and to evaluate the relationship between knowledge, cosmopolitan, perception and attitude on mangrove forest of community in Parit Pangeran sub village. Data was collected with in-depth interview to the people in Parit Pangeran sub village with total responden was 120 people. The result showed that 52 responden (43.33%) has a positive perception on mangrove forest, meanwhile 47 responden (39.17%) was neutral and 21 responden (17.5%) has a negative perception. There are a relationship between level of knowledge and attitude of the community on mangrove forest. People with high knowledge on the importance function of mangrove forest have a tendency to have positive attitude and vice versa. Mangrove forest need to conserve and the community of Parit Pangeran sub-village still need to increase their knowledge on how to manage the mangrove forest in their area. STUDI HABITAT TEMPAT BERTELUR PENYU HIJAU (Chelonia mydas) DI KAWASAN TAMBLING WILDLIFE NATURE CONSERVATION (TWNC) TAMAN NASIONAL BUKIT BARISAN SELATAN (TNBBS) TANGGAMUS PESISIR BARAT
This study aims to determine the nesting habitat of Green Turtle (Chelonia mydas) in the Tambling Wildlife Nature Conservation (TWNC) Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park (TNBBS) Tanggamus West Coast. We collected a variety of data to describe the habitat and nests used. The data collected include: the length of the beach, the slope and width of the beach, the size of the nest, the temperature of the nest, air temperature and humidity, salinity, texture of sand, and the presence of factors that influence sea turtle conservation. From Belimbing beach to Sekawat beach, we found that beach lengthwas 18.075 meters, the slope of the coast ranged 6-15%, the beach width ranged 21-50 meters at low tide and 5-17 meters at high tide, %, the nest hole circumference averaged 414,66 cm,the nest temperature ranged 27,05⁰C to 38,55⁰C,the air temperature ranged 30,8⁰C-26,8⁰C, the humidity ranged 72.6%-62.93, the depth of the nest averaged 56 cm, the salinity of the sea water averaged 30.3 ‰, and the fine sand fraction ranged 0,10-0,21 mm. Green Turtles are threatened by the presence of predators such as Monitor Lizard (Varanus salvator) and ghost crab(Ocypoda sp.), as well as by human activity.Trawl fishing in the ocean also could affect sea turtle conservation. STUDI TUMBUHAN OBAT PADA ETNIS DAYAK DI DESA GERANTUNG KECAMATAN MONTERADO KABUPATEN BENGKAYANG
This research was carried out in the Gerantung Village of Monterado Subdistrict, Bengkayang Regency. The effective research period was held for two (2) weeks in the field using interviews with EMIC approach and snowball sampling technique. The purpose of this research is to reveal the type of medicinal plants and their use and to reveal the medicinal plant parts used and the way of preparing the medicine by people around Gerantung Village, as well as to reveal the type of diseases that can be treated using the medicinal plant. The research found 51 species of medicinal plants belonging to 36 families that all used by the community, where processing is still traditional, based on habit and experience only. Based on the growth rate, it turned out that trees were most widely used with percentage of 37.25% or as many as 19 species. Based on the part of the plant used, the leaf was the most widely used with a percentage of 54.90% or as many as 28 species. Based on way of processing, the most widely used was by boiling with a percentage of 52.94% or as many as 27 species. Based on the used the most widely used was by consuming with a percentage of 45.10% or as many as 23 species. And based on diseases treatment, the most widely used was for the treatment of internal diseases with as many as 32 species. Keywords: Bengkayang, District Menterado, Medical Plant, Study
