    KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS PRIMATA DI SEKSI WILAYAH II SEMITAU TAMAN NASIONAL DANAU SENTARUM KABUPATEN KAPUAS HULU

    Primates are considered very importance since they can help forest regeration that can also be an indicator of  forest health. Health population in the forest areas also suggest the possibility of other species of animals that is also still present in a considerable number. This reschearch was conducted in the management section of the Region ii Semitau of Sentarum National Park Kapuas Hulu. This study aims to reveal the existing primate diversity and population in each group. This research was conducted from December 2014 using a survey method with a transect of 1000 meters long 100 meters wide as a sample unit. The results show that the number of primates found was as many as 145 individuals consisting of 3 (three) species. These species are orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus), probscis monkey (Nasalis larvatus), long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis). Species diversity index value was 0.8594; Evenness index value was 0.7821; Dominance index value was 0.4649 and species richness index value was 2.1613.Keywords: Kapuas Hulu, National Park, Population, Primates, Sentarum Lake, Species Diversit

    Indonesia is a country with the richest orchids spesies in the world. Forest degradation could be one of the factors that threatens the existence of orchids in the tropial forest. The purpose of this study was to search information on forest degradation impact on epiphytic orchid populations as well as the characteristics of the orchid site condition in the areal Ambawang Mountain  Kubu Raya Regency. This study used survey method with stratified sampling technique on forest cover condition. Sampling area was 3 of a 40 m x 40 m, plot which divided into 4 sub plots of 20 m x 20 m. The results found 17 species of orchids with an 98 individual. There were 14 spesies orchid host trees with 130 number of trees, with three characters of bark on the host tree: rough, medium, and slightly smooth bark. Among 3 characters tree-bark type, the most orchid was found on  rough-bark type. It also found differences in the number of population of orchid species at each level of canopy closure. Mute orchid spesies populations were found under therefore, the close forest cover condition. should be maintained.     Mangrove forest in Kelurahan Kuala Disctrict of Singkawang Barat Singkawang City is utilized by the local residents to fulfill their needs. The relationship between the community and the existence of mangrove forest elicits specific perception on mangrove as an effort to maintain and preserve mangrove forests. This study aims to observe the perception from the community in Kelurahan Kuala District of Singkawang Barat Singkawang City on the existence of Mangrove forest and the factors influencing. The study used survey method, and the technique used was purposive sampling and proportional sampling. The total respondents are 94 persons. The results show that the level of people perception on the existence of mangrove forest in the coastal areas of Kelurahan Kuala belongs to moderate level, with 11 high perception respondents (12%), 67 moderate perception respondents (71%), and 16 low perception respondents (17%).Keywords: kelurahan kuala, mangrove forest, people perception

    KARAKTERISTIK HABITAT RAFFLESIA (Rafflesia tuan-mudae) DI GUNUNG POTENG CAGAR ALAM RAYA PASI KALIMANTAN BARAT

    One of the plants endemic of West Kalimantan is Rafflesia Tuan-mudae. R. Tuan-mudae found at the Raya Pasi Nature Reserves in West Kalimantan, especially at Mount Poteng. Information about the habitat of R. Tuan-mudae at Mount Poteng is still not found. The purpose of this study was to get information about characteristics of habitat R. Tuan-mudae at Gunung Poteng Raya Pasi Nature Reserve. Data collection was carried out in May 2018, R. Tuan-mudae habitat analysis was carried out using a survey method. Data retrieval using observer plots was determined by purposive sampling technique. Using a double observation plot measuring 20 x 50 m, totaling 4 plots. The results of the study found 145 R. Tuan-mudae individuals, at an altitude between 431-503 masl, slope 18.25%, temperature 25 ° C-26.1 ° C with humidity between 83% -89%.     Nepenthes is one of plant species that found in Indonesian tropical forests. This plant has uniqueness and many benefits make this plant being hunted and exploited, caused the existence of its population are decreasing. Nepenthes inhabit in various conditions, one of the site is in lowland secondary forest. This study aims to find out site diversity of nepenthes in various secondary forest land cover conditions in Bukit Batu Village. This research is expected to be a baseline information on nepenthes diversity for the goal of protection and use fullness of nepenthes. This research employed survey method with purposive sampling on plot placement. Plot size was 20 m × 20 m with sub plot was of 10 m × 10 m. The results show that secondary forest of Bukit Batu Village which were varied on coverage condition, on open canopy 4 species of nepenthes were found such as N. ampullaria jack., N. bicalcarata Hook.F., N. rafflesiana Jack. and N. gracilis korth., under medium canopy coverage there was 3 nepenthes species found, which was N. ampullaria jack., N. bicalcarata Hook. F. and N. rafflesiana Jack., and under closed canopy conditions there was 2 species of nepenthes found N. ampullaria jack. and N. bicalcarata Hook. F. The results showed that only few nepenthes species found in this forest area and species nepenthes found more under open canopy condition, due to those species needed more light to survive.Keywords: Canopy Cover, Diversity, Nepenthes spp, Secondary Fores

    PERMUDAAN ALAM JENIS MERANTI (Shorea spp.) DI HUTAN ADAT PENGAJID DESA SAHAN KABUPATEN BENGKAYANG

    Natural regeneration plays an important role in the forest ecosystem. Meranti (Shorea spp.) that is the genera of Dipterocarpaceae, grows in the lowlands. Pengajid customary forest at Sahan Bengkayang regency is a natural resource that is owned by the village community to meet the ecological and economic needs. The study aimed to determine the condition of natural forest regeneration at the seedling level, sapling and poles meranti (Shorea spp.) in thisforest. The method used the method of field survey by means of a line striped. The striped line is the combination of track method and plot method with a track width of 20 m and a length of each line of 500 m. The observation plot was made with a plot size of 10 m x 10 m for regeneration at the poles level, plot size of 5 m x 5 m for sapling regeneration, and with a plot size of 2 m x 2 m with for seedling level regeneration. Analysis of the data used were: important value index, type dominance index, species diversity index and species abundance index. The results of this research showed that the condition of all levels of natural regeneration is low. It showed that the dominancy of meranti species (important value index) for the seedlings, saplings and poles level were 47.71%, 24.56% and 44.95%, respectivelly. The dominance value of the meranti type for seedlings, the saplings dan poles level were 0.01, 0.001 and 0.005, respectivelly. Diversity of meranti( diversity index) for the seedlings, saplings and poles value were 0.33, 0.15 and 0.24, respectivelly. Meanwhile, Meranti type abundance index for seedling level is 0.16, sapling level is 0.08 and pole level is 0.13. Keywords: Meranti, Natural regeneration, Pengaji

    Dipterocarpaceae is a group of pantropic plants which members are widely used in the timber field. Due to much exploitation, several important members of this tribe have entered the IUCN Red List as an endangered species. This study aims to obtain data information about the diversity of Dipterocarpaceae family tree species in the indigenous forest of Bukit Benuah Sungai Ambawang sub-district, Kubu Raya regency. The research method used in the analysis of vegetation in the field using survey method with a combination of tracks and lines technical in the track by placing the track of observation through the purposive sampling approach. The tracks used in the field are 8 paths with 76 plots of land in the observation area of 270.63 Ha. Based on research conducted in indigenous forest of Bukit Benuah Sungai Ambawang subdistrict, Kubu Raya regency, found 41 tree species from 430 individual tree level obtained during the research. Vegetation of 41 species is a recapitulation of 22 families and 34 genus. The species compositions found in indigenous forest Bukit Benuah are mostly dominated by trees with Dipterocarpaceae family with 125 individual trees. Dipterocarpaceae which is the dominated family has 5 genus including Dryobalanops, Dipterocarpus, Hopea, Shorea, and Vatica.Keywords: Dipterocarpaceae, Indigenous Forest, The Diversit

    PENGARUH PROPORSI CAMPURAN MEDIA SAPIH PADA PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT MAHONI (Swietenia mahagoni) DI PERSEMAIAN

    Mahogany (Swietenia mahagoni) is one of the popular tree species for wood products whose productivity can be increased starting from nurseries. To meet the high demand for wood, it is necessary to cultivate both in the form of natural forest rehabilitation and plantation forest development. In order for the planting effort to succeed, in addition to the selection of tree species that are suitable for local environmental conditions, the use of quality seeds is also necessary, so that the growth of plants or stands that are built grows optimally. While to obtain quality seeds can be taken through the use of quality seeds, intensive maintenance and optimizing the nutrient content that is sufficient in the growing media in the nursery. The aim of the study was to obtain the proportion of planting media mixture in the form of ultisol, cocopeat and chicken manure to support the growth of the best mahogany seedlings in the nursery. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design with six treatments and five replications. The treatment tested was the ratio of planting media mixture consisting of M0 (ultisol), M1 (7 ultisol : 0 cocopeat: 4 chicken manure), M2 (7 ultisol : 1 cocopeat: 3 chicken manure), M3 (7 ultisol : 2 cocopeat: 2 chicken manure), M4 (7 ultisol : 3 cocopeat: 1 chicken manure) and M5 (7 ultisol : 4 cocopeat: 0 chicken manure). The variables observed included height (cm), diameter (cm), number of leaves (strands), wet weight (g), dry weight (g), root shoot ratio (g) and seed quality index. The results showed that the proportion of growing media significantly affected the height and number of mahogany leaves, but did not affect the diameter, wet weight and dry weight, root shoot ratio and seed quality index.     PENDUGAAN STOCK KARBON TERSIMPAN PADA MODEL MANAJEMEN HUTAN MERANTI DI KAWASAN SUNGAI PENITI BESAR PROVINSI KALIMANTAN BARAT

    The estimation of carbon stocks is very important in providing information about the amount of carbon that is generated in the land sector in Global Warming. The objective of this research is to know carbon stock from Above Ground Biomass in Tree stands in a Development Area the Hutan Merati Forest Management Unit (PMUMHM) located in the district of Landak and district in West kalimantan province with 2,637,58 hectares. The method of calculating the estimation of stored carbon stock is done by non-destructive (Non-destructive) and using allometric equations. The allometric equation Manuri at all, 2014 (y = 0.232. (DBH) 2,373. (WD) 0.736) is because this model is very conservative and relevant to field conditions after being tested with some other allometric equations. The results of this study show that the stored biomass of 597.29 Ton/Ha with the amount of carbon stored for 246,089.86 Ton/Ha. and produce carbon dioxide uptake of 903,149.79 TonCO2/Ha and produce Oxygen of 334.159,99 TonO2/Ha.     The construction of urban forest area around the village of Siantan Hulu has a diversity of plant species to high levels of the tree. The public perception of the existence of the urban forest development tends to be diverse. It is influenced by the existence of some of the stuff one of these economic factors, social ecology and interconnected with one another. In this study categorizes the three factors, namely the economic factor whether the existence of urban forest development is able to affect people's income. Ecological factors are the existence of urban forest was able to maintain ecological nor the types of plants and animals in the jungle of cities and social factors are the existence of urban forest can affect your mindset and behaviour in society. This research aims to know the public perception about the construction of urban forest. The method of data collection conducted with interview techniques aided tool questionnaire submitted to the respondent. The taking of the respondents done in a purposive sampling technique, it is the technique of determination of samples with specific consideration. The results showed that the public perception is seen from the economic factors to the development of urban forest tend to be neutral, namely of 58.00%. This proves that the communities in the Village Siantan Hulu support and accept the existence of the urban forest development in the UPTD agribusiness. The results of the analysis indicate the level of the frequency of the public perception of the ecological factors of society against the urban forest tend to be neutral, namely of 54.00%, this proves that people in the village of Siantan Hulu accept the existence of the urban forest development in UPTD Agribusiness for maintaining and preserving the ecology that is in the forest and is capable of being stabilised ecosystem. The results of the analysis indicate the level of the frequency of the public perception of the social factors of society against the urban forest tend to be neutral, namely of 52.00%, This proves the existence of urban forest able to make social change for the society as there are mutual activities for urban forest development in order to remain sustainably so that their offspring will experience the goodness provided by nature for them to enjoy in the future.
