STUDI KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS ANGGREK (Orchidaceae) BERDASARKAN KETINGGIAN TEMPAT DI BUKIT WANGKANG KABUPATEN KUBU RAYA
Orchid is one of biological natural resources that need to be maintained its diversity, not only as a constituent of tropical forest ecosystem but it also have many benefits and potential to be managed. The purpose of this research was to study the diversity of species of natural orchids (Orchidaceae) at different altitudes located in Wangkang Hill within the Protection Forest Area of Bawang Mountain, Sei Ambawang Village. This research use multiple plot method with plot of field observation purposively. Total of observation plot is 16 plots and each plot measure 20 by 20 meters. So each plot has an area of 0.04 ha so that the total plot of the research is 0.64 ha. The results showed that in area of Wangkang Hill found as many as 16 species of natural orchids, with details of all types are epiphytic orchids. The number of individuals is 165 orchids. The index of species diversity (H') is more than one that is 1,103 and for each altitude ranges from 0.766 - 0.966, with the largest species diversity occurs at altitude of 300 - 345 m asl. This shows that at altitude of 300 - 345 m asl the grade of species diversity is high or the types that are found more than other altitudes.Keywords: Altitude, forest, orchid, species diversity
PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT TERHADAP KELESTARIAN HUTAN MANGROVE DESA TANJUNG BAIK BUDI KECAMATAN MATAN HILIR UTARA KABUPATEN KETAPANG
Utilization of mangrove forest products both in the form of wood and non-timber products, and land clearing for agricultural land and ponds by the community around the mangrove forest without any effort to preserve the mangrove ecosystem makes the existence of mangrove forests in the village Tanjung Baik Budi many are damaged so that it reduces the area of mangrove forests and disrupts the ecosystem. This study aims to examine the public perception of the sustainability of mangrove forests, and analyze the relationship between the level of community dependence, level of knowledge, level of income and community perceptions of the sustainability of mangrove forests in the village Tanjung Baik Budi sub-district Matan Hilir Utara districts Ketapang. Data collection using methods Random Sampling with interview techniques and questionnaire tools. Correlation analysis Kendall Tau. The results of this study indicate that the public perception of the sustainability of mangrove forests has a positive perception. There is a positive and significant relationship between the level of knowledge, the level of dependence on mangrove forests and community perceptions. KARAKTERISTIK PAPAN KOMPOSIT DARI KULIT BAKAU, LIMBAH PLASTIK POLIPROPILENA, DAN PEREKAT UREA FORMALDEHIDA
This research is aimed to know the effect composition of raw materials and concentration adhesives of urea formaldehyde to physical and mechanical properties composite board. Composite board made from the bakau bark, polypropylene plastic waste, and urea formaldehyde adhesive. Variation ratio of bakau bark and polypropylene plastic were 60 : 40, 50 : 50, 40 : 60. The level of urea formaldehyde used thewere 10%, 12% and 14% of the total weigh of the composite board. Particle board is made with size 30 cm x 30 cm x 1 cm with target density of 0,7 g/cm3 at a specific pressure of 25 kg/cm2 and temperature of 220ºC for 10 minutes. Evaluation of the physical properties and mechanical properties was conducted according to JIS A 5908-2003. The results of this research showed the average value based the density is around 0,68 g/cm3 – 0,79 g/cm3, the moisture content is around 5,02 % - 6,84 %, thickness swelling is around 2,95 % - 4,18 %, water absorption is around 10,21 % - 19,22 %, modulus of elasticity is around 4990,46 kg/cm2 – 5780,79 kg/cm2, modulus of repture is around 104,73 kg/cm2 - 140,55 kg/cm2 , the internal bonding strength is around 7,53 kg/cm2 – 9,03 kg/cm2, and the screws holding strength is around 70,27 kg - 82,28 kg. The best treatment for the physical and mechanical of composite board made from ratio bakau bark and polypropylene plastic 40 : 60 and urea formaldehyde concentration 14%.Keyword: Bakau Bark, composite board, physical and mechanical properties, polypropylene plastic, urea formaldehyd
ORGANISME PERUSAK BIBIT MANGROVE (RHIZOPHORA STYLOSA) DI AREAL PERSEMAIAN MEMPAWAH MANGROVE PARK
Seedlings in Mempawah Mangrove Park have no information on the types of destructive organisms, the percentage of attacked plants and the level of damage up to now. The purpose of this study was to identify organisms that destroy the seedling and determine the percentage of attacked plants and the level of damage in the Mempawah Mangrove Park nursery area. This research was conducted for 4 weeks in the field. The survey method is used to collect the research data. The sequence of activities are as follows: 1) determination of sample in plants, 2) species of organism that destory the seedling and 3) assessing the level of . The results show that we fouad 3 organisms, that one: a) insects with 4 families, that are Tettigonidae(Conocephalus sp), Acrididae (Coxya chinensis), Thumisidae Thomisius cherapunjeus), and Formicidae (Oecophylla), b) Gastropods with 1 family (Littoraria undolata), and c) Crustaceans with 1 familyGapsidae(Metaplax sp). The percentage of plants attacked by destructive organisms in the Mempawah Mangrove Park nursery 16%, including in the low attacth mean white the level of seedlings damage is 5.06%, including is the low in the damage.Keywords :Destructive Organisms, Mangrove Seedlings (Rhizophora stylosa), Seedling
KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS TUMBUHAN PAKAN ORANGUTAN (Pongo pygmaeus wurmbii) DI KAWASAN HUTAN KONSERVASI PT. KAYUNG AGRO LESTARI (KAL) KABUPATEN KETAPANG
Orangutans (Pongo pygmaeus) are endemic to the island of Borneo whose existence is threatened with extinction. As a result of its population which has continued to decline over the past few decades, the International Union for Conservation Nature (IUCN) raised the status of Bornean orangutans from endangered to critical (Critically endangered). The study was conducted in the conservation forest area of PT. Kayung Agro Lestari (KAL) District Ketapang. This study aims to determine the diversity of species of feed for orangutans (Pongo pygmaeus Wurmbii) and to determine the availability of feed for orangutans in their original habitat. The method used is purposive sampling by making a double plot that is placed randomly at the location found in the type of orangutan feed. The results of this study found as many as 38 types of plants, 30 species are food sources and 8 species are not sources of feed. Analysis of the Important Value Index (INP) data of the largest value at all growth rates for tree level and seedlings was dominated by jungkang type (Palaquium leiocarpum) with a value of 33.83% and 54.01%. The level of the pole is dominated by the type of guava change (Syzygium sp1) with a value of 26.69%, while for the stake level is dominated by the type of pandanus (Pandanus sp) with a value of 47.67%.Keywords: Feed, Orangutan, Species diversit
SIFAT FISIK DAN MEKANIK ORIENTED STRAND BOARD (OSB) KAYU KARET (Hevea brasiliensis) BERDASARKAN PERLAKUAN PENDAHULUAN DAN KONSENTRASI PEREKAT
The objectives of this research were to know the effect of preliminary treatment, adhesive concentration and the interaction of both factors to physical and mechanical properties of Oriented Strand Board (OSB) of rubber wood that produces the best board that meets JIS A 5908-2003 24-10. The research was conducted at Wood Workshop Laboratory, Wood Processing Laboratory Faculty of Forestry, University of Tanjungpura and Laboratory of PT. Duta Pertiwi Nusantara Pontianak. Materials used in this study were rubber wood, phenol formaldehyde (PF) adhesives and liquid paraffin, with pretreatment (without immersion treatment, cold soaking and heat immersion) and adhesive concentration (6%, 8% and 10%). OSB board was made with the size of 30 cm x 30 cm x 1 cm with a target density of 0,7 gr / cm3 whitewashed phenol formaldehyde adhesive and hot forged with a temperature of 1600 C for 7 minutes. The results showed that preliminary treatment had a very significant effect on the value of thickness development, water absorption, MOE, MOR and stickiness (IB). Treatment of adhesive concentration had a very significant effect on water absorption, adhesive firmness, and strong screw hold. The interaction of these two factors had a significant effect on water absorption and MOE and also had a very significant effect on the value of thickness development and strong screw hold. The best OSB produced in this study was a pre-treated board without immersion with a concentration of 10%, with a density value of 0,7857 gr/cm3, moisture content of 13,4739 %, development of 2-hour thick 1,5772 %, thickness 24 hour 11,1553 %, water absorption 2 hours 10,8460 %, water absorption 24 hours 38,7681 %, MOE 38.000,8885 kg/cm2, MOR 639,0476 kg/cm2, stickiness 18,8454 kg/cm2 and firmly hold the screw 152,4221 kg.Keywords: Adhesive concentration, Oriented strand board, Pretreatment Rubber wood.
KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS KANTONG SEMAR (Nepenthes spp) DI KEBUN RAYA SAMBAS KECAMATAN SUBAH KABUPATEN SAMBAS KALIMANTAN BARAT
Kantong semar is a type of plant that belongs to a unique plant category, the uniqueness of this plant is found in the form of a variety of follicle. The purpose of this research is to know the diversity of kantong semar (Nepenthes spp). The research used purposive sampling technique with double plot method measuring 2m x 2m. The results show that found as many as 5 types of kantong semar, namely N. ampullaria, N. rafflesiana, N. xhookeriana, N. mirabilis and N. reindwardtiana, with a total of 67 individuals. The highest index of dominance is N. ampularia with value (C = 0.128) followed by N. reindwardtiana with value (C = 0,89), N. Rafflesiana with value (C = 0,027), N. mirabilis with value (C = 0,018 ) and N. Xhookeriana with value (C = 0.002). The index of species diversity has a value (d = 2,190). The highest index of Morisita is N. Mirabillis with value (Is = 1,681), N. reindwardtiana with value (Is = 1,211), N. ampularia with value (Is = 1,174), N. xhookeriana (Is = 1,167) and N. rafflesiama with the value (Is = 1,155).Keywords: diversity, dominance, Nepenthes sp
PEMANFAATAN TUMBUHAN OBAT OLEH MASYARAKAT DI SEKITAR AREAL IUPHHK-HTIPT.BHATARA ALAM LESTARI DI KABUPATEN MEMPAWAH
Medicinal plants are plants that on certain parts of the roots, stems, skin, leaves and excretion is believed by the community to cure or reduce pain. The are of IUPHHK-HTI PT.BAL is a region in which there are still many medicinal plants that are utilized by the community in tradisonal medicine. This study aims to determine the utilization of tradisonal medicinal plants in the are of IUPHHK-HTI PT.BAL used by the community of Sadaniang village.The method used in the filed is explorative. Data collection on the community was done by interviewing the respondents selected by snowball sampling and field obsrvation. The results of the study found 28 spesies of medicinal plants consisting of 24 familes, where Asterceae and Orchidaceae is the most plant families encountered. Habitus of medicinal plants is mostly tree. The most widely used plant part is the leaf part. The way of processing medicinal plants by boiling, crushed, dried, and without processed. How the use of medicinal plants is mostly in the form of a single material that can be consumed directly or indirectly. How to use medicinal plants for the most dominant healing that is by drunk and others eaten, pasted, gargle and shipped the wound.Keywords:, Asterceae, Medicinal Plants, Orchidacea
TOKSISITAS EKSTRAK METANOL DAUN API-API (Avicennia marina (Forsk.) Vierh) TERHADAP RAYAP TANAH (Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren)
This study aims to examine the toxicity of A. marina leaf extracts to subterranean termite C. curvignathus and to determine the optimal concentration of A. marina leaf extract in inhibiting termite attack. A. marina leaf powder was extracted using methanol solvent for 48 hours, then the extract solution was evaporated using rotary evaporator for 1 hour to obtain extract in gel condition. Then whatman paper immer in extract solution at each concentration of 0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% and 5% for 1 hour. Testing was done for 21 days. The parameters observed were termite mortality and weight loss of whatman paper. The highest mortality was found at concentrations of 5% with mortality of termite reach 100% with the weight loss of 0,857%. Concentration of 2% was noted as the optimal result with termite mortality value of 86,66% and weight loss of whatman paper reach 34,0725% wiht the level of anti-termite activity classified as B (strong). EKOLOGI DAN POTENSI POHON NYATOH (Palaquium spp) DI HUTAN SEKUNDERAREAL IUPHHK - HTI PT. BHATARA ALAM LESTARI KABUPATEN MEMPAWAH
The forest is a collection of plants dominated by trees with woody vegetation and other vegetation (Arif, 1994). In the absence of replanting or rejuvenation will threaten forest sustainability. The objective of the study was to assess the ecology and potential of nyatoh trees. Provided information on the ecology and potential of nyatoh trees in secondary forest areas. This research was conducted by survey method, the technique of placing the sample was a combination of path and plot line. Each path was placed systematically. The width of the line was 20 m, 750 m long with 7 observation lines. In this path, the measurement of seedling, stake, pole, and tree were done. The result of data analysis in secondary forestwere 46 tree species at all growth level, from 46 species of tree there were 2 species of nyatoh tree ie nyatoh klincir (Palaquium rostratum) and nyatoh sangai (Palaquium obtusifolium). The dominant plant species for seedlings, stakes, poles and trees were wood with the value of INP respectively 16,18%, 24,74%, 25,26% and 28,26%. Types strongly associated with nyatoh include Mentibu (Dactylocladus stenostachys Oliv) with Ochiai index 0.51, followed by Change (Eugenia sp) with index of 0.49, Tekam (Hopea dasyphyla V.SI) with index of 0.49.Keywords: Palaquium spp, Nyatoh Ecology, Nyatoh Potential, Secondary Fores
