    The condition of mangrove forests in the Sungai Bakau Besar Laut Village has been damaged, with these conditions it is necessary to participate from the surrounding community to carry out the rehabilitation of mangrove forests in order to repair the damage. For this reason, this study aims to explore the level of community participation in rehabilitating mangrove forests and Analyzing the relationship of community participation with age, education, knowledge and income towards participation in rehabilitating mangrove forests. The research method uses survey method with the sampling technique of respondents using purposive random sampling and interview techniques. Respondents in the study numbered 78 respondents. Indicators of success of community participation consists of several stages, namely the planning stage, the organizational stage, the implementation phase, and the evaluation stage. The results showed that community participation in planning and organizational activities was moderate, the level of community participation in implementation activities was low, and the level of participation in evaluation meetings was high.     Food plants have long been used by local people of Hli Buei Village, Siding Subdistrict, Bengkayang District because of their simple processing and available in the forest. For generations, the village community has been accustomed to using food sources for their daily staple food needs. In addition, local food plants are still widely used because there is no market in Hli Buei Village. Until now, the use of plant food sources in Hli Buei Village, Siding Subdistrict, Bengkayang District has never been studied. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on the Ethnobotany of Plant Food for the Dayak Bidayuh Community in Hli Buei Village, Siding Subdistrict, Bengkayang District. The aim is to provide information about food plant species, utilization and processing of food source plants in Hli Buei Village, Siding Subdistrict, Bengkayang District. The research method is a survey method and data collection techniques by interview. Determination of respondents by purposive sampling in addition to observation and study of literature. Based on the results of interviews that have been conducted, there were 95 species from 44 families. The level of plant habitus that is widely used comes from the tree level (29.47%), herbs (28.42%), shrubs (22.1%), and the least is epiphyte (1.05%). The most part of the mash which used as food of the fruit, namely as many as 55 species (57.89%), leaves 17 species (17.89%) and the lowest was in the stems, shoots, tubers, flower buds, skin, fruit and heart, fruit. and umbut, fruit, tuber and water, terrace stem and tuber each 1 type (1.05%). Utilization of the most food plant groups came from the fruit group, namely 36 species (37.89%) and the lowest was the 3 species of cereals (3.15%).Keywords: Dayak Bidayuh, Ethnobotany, Plant Food

    Rehabilitation is an effort to restore physical condition or animal behavior, to be returned to natural habitat. The rehabilitation program, with the enrichment of the environment as well as possible with habitat in nature, so that animals are motivated to behave naturally. Orangutan social behavior includes orangutan interactions with other orangutans, orangutans with keepers. The purpose of the research is to examine social behavior, performed by mothers and children of orangutans at YIARI. Observations were made using the Focal Animal Sampling method. The results of the research obtained, the percentage of social behavior of Orangutan Mother, Franky (14.14%) more active than Monti (11.52%) and children of Orangutans, Oso (15.80%), more active than Anggun (12.85%).Keyword: Orangutan, Social Behaviour,YIAR

    Tembawang is a land management carried out by the Dayak communities in West Kalimantan. One of the many in West Kalimantan is Tembawang Payut in Malo Jelayan Village, Teriak District, Bengkayang Regency. Most of the societies of Malo Jelayan Village use Tembawang to fulfill their daily needs by taking various types of results from the Tembawang such as fruits, vegetables, bamboo and so forth. This research examines the community's efforts in sustaining Tembawang in Malo Jelayan Village, Teriak District, Bengkayang Regency. The study was conducted for four weeks in the field. The technique used is a survey method with interview techniques and direct observation in the field. The sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique. Respondent participated comprised 30 people, including 17 men and 13 women. Data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach. The results showed the community's efforts in preserving Tembawang in Malo Jelayan Village such as weeding by cleaning around Tembawang, works carried out in a traditional method (traditional ceremonies), replanting dead trees, as well as making an agreement between the people and the Village administrator to issue a permission for the outside community who wish to enter the Tembawang area.Keywords: Community, efforts, Malo Jelayan Village, Preservation, Tembawang

    Natural orchids are one of the flora in Mount Poteng which is included of Raya Pasi Nature Reserve located at Singkawang City, West Kalimantan Province. Orchids have economic value for source of income and be beneficial to ecology that needs to be protected. The altitudes and environmental factors strongly affected the presence of orchid species.The research aims to record the diversity of natural orchids species based on the altitudes place in Mount Poteng. The research was conducted on February 28 until March 28, 2020. This research uses survey method. The research sample was taken using double plots method and to determine sample plots locations is conducted by purposive. The total number of the sample plots is 16 plots and each plot measure 20 by 50 meters. Based on the result of research found 19 species of natural orchids that consist of 348 individuals. The results analysis of the diversity index of orchid species in whole of altitudes at Mount Poteng is 1,338 that is included medium range. The highest species diversity index of 1,300 occurred at altitude of 400-500 m asl and the lowest species diversity index at altitude of 700-725 m asl that is 0,594. Orchid species which found in whole of altitudes is Dendrobium crumenatum. Furthermor, there were found the orchid species on certain heights are Cleisostoma scortechinii, Cordiglottis filiformis, Ludisia discolor, and Phalaenopsis pantherina at altitude of 400-500 m asl and species of Bromheadia finlaysoniana and Pomatocalpa latifolia found at altitude of 700-725 m asl.Keywords: altitudes, mount poteng, orchids, species diversit

    KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS IKAN FAMILI CYPRINIDAE DI SUNGAI ARIUNG KECAMATAN PUTUSSIBAU UTARA KABUPATEN KAPUAS HULU

    The cyprinidae family is a true freshwater fish that dominant in Indonesian fresh waters and the main in habitant of the most population in several rivers in Kalimantan. One of river that found cyprinidae family is Ariung river in Mendalam Village, North Putussibau District, Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan. This study aims to obtain data on the fish diversity of the cyprinidae in Ariung River. The method used in this research is survey method and direct observation in the field. Determination of sampling points with purposive sampling and followed systematically based on environmental conditions. The results showed as many as 5 observation stations found 187 individuals belonging to 15 types, among them are Barbichthys laevis, Barbodes schwanenfeldii, Cyclocheilichtys apogon, Hampala macrolepidota, Labiobarbus ocellatus, Osteochilus hasselti, Osteochilus kappenii, Osteochilus microcephalus, Osteochilus pleurotaenia, Osteochilus waandersii, Puntioplites bulu, Rasbora caudimaculata, Rasbora sp, Thynnichthys polylepis dan Thynnichthys thynnoides. Based on the results of data analysis, the dominant index of fish in the Ariung river shows low dominance. Values (C) from the five observation stations ranged from 0.135 - 0.284. The index of fish species diversity in the Ariung river shows moderate species diversity. Diversity index (H ') values for the five stations ranged from 1.322 - 2.130. Evenness index (E) values at the five stations are at 0.912 – 0.953 and a wealth index (R) at the five stations has a high wealth of R > 4.Keywords: Ariung Rivers, Cyprinidae Family, Fish Diversit

    Riam Solang tourism object is one of the natura attractions in Senakin Village Sengah Temila district Landak Regency with area 16,192.98 (161 km). Birds are one component of the ecosystem that has an importan role in supporting the life cycle of an organism. This situation can be seen from the food chains and webs of life that make up living systems with other ecosystem components such as plants with insects The purpose of this study was to obtain data on the diversity of diurnal bird species in the Riam Solang ecotourism Sengah Temila, District Landak Regency West Kalimantan Province. The results of the study are expected to be able to provide scientific data and information on the diversity of diurnal bird species in the Riam Solang canyon ecotourism Sengah Temila, District Landak Regency West Kalimantan Province. The results of diversity diurnal bird species in Riam Solang that in first path the diversity index was 2.8695, in the second path the diversity index was 2.7129, in the third path the diversity index was 2.6944, and in the fourth path the diversity index is 2.7754. While the results of type evenness index in the frist lane was 0,9018, in the second path the evenness index is 0,8911, in the third path evenness index is 0,8994, and in the fourth path evenness index is 0,8979.     Dayak Mayan is the only tribe in Mensusai Village, Suhaid District, Kapuas Hulu Regency. They utilize natural products in the form of animals or animals for daily needs such as consumption needs (protein), for traditional rituals, medication, mystical and commercial activities. Animals are used for medecine based on experience and tradition for generations. The research objective was to obtain data of animals species that used as medicine and to obtain data on the processing and usage of animals as medicine by the Dayak Mayan in Mensusai Village, Suhaid District, Kapuas Hulu Regency. The method used are survey method, respondents was selected by snowball sampling techniques and data collection using a questionnaire. Based on result research that there are 14 types of animals that are believed by the Dayak Mayan Community and are commonly used or used as medicine. Animal body parts that are used for treatment are thorns, flesh, bile, fur, blood, scales, fat, honey and skin.     STUDI PEMANFAATAN TUMBUHAN OBAT SEBAGAI TONIK OLEH PENGOBAT TRADISIONAL DI DESA KARYA BAKTI KECAMATAN SUNGAI BETUNG KABUPATEN BENGKAYANG

    There is a long history of the plant's usage as medicine to overcome various diseases and maintain people's health conditions in communities.  Among its multiple benefits, medicinal plants are also used to strengthen the body organs (tonic). The use of medicinal plants as tonics is still carried out by the society of Karya Bakti Village, Sungai Betung District, Bengkayang Regency, especially by traditional healers (dukun) who are trusted by the community to help treat various diseases. This study aims to analyze plant's use by traditional healers in Karya Bakti Village, Bengkayang Regency. The data was collected by interviewing two traditional healers who were selected based on the snowball sampling technique. The interview results revealed that the village's traditional healer used 32 species of medicinal plants belonging to 25 families. The most widely used plant family is Zingiberaceae (19%), with the highest habitus is herbs (31.25%). The most commonly used part is the root (28.13%), the form of single ingredients (53%) by boiling processing (74.36%), the administration is orally (77.5%) with a frequency of use three times a day (75%). The study results proved that traditional healers in Karya Bakti Village were still using medicinal plants as tonics.Keywords: medicinal plants, tonic, traditional healers

    The study aims to document the medicinal plants and knowledge of the use of medicinal plants used by traditional healers in Bunut Village. This research was conducted in Bunut Village, Kapuas Subdistrict, Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan. In this study, we found a total of 31 species of medicinal plants used by traditional healers and those included in the 25 plants family. The most common family is Zingiberaceae. Herbal habitus is the most common use (51,61%). The plant part is leaves (53%) used by traditional shamans from Bunut Village. The most widely used method of processing plants is boiling (64,87%). The way of use that is often used is by drink (53%). Usage rules that are commonly used are 2x1 (65,63%). Doses of using medicinal plants are 1-3 strands/part (45%) and 4-6 strands/part (45%).Keywords: Bunut Village, Medicinal Plants, Sanggau Regency, Traditional Healer, Traditional Knowledge
