Studying the Issue of Child Labor in the Oil Palm Plantation Sector

A significant issue that many nations, including Indonesia, face is child labour, particularly in the oil palm plantation industry. A number of laws and policies, such as Law No. 13 of 2003 on Manpower, which specifically forbids the employment of child labour, and Law No. 23 of 2002 on Child Protection, have been put into place to safeguard children from exploitation. Furthermore, Indonesia is more committed to ending child labour and dangerous work because it has ratified international treaties including ILO treaties No. 138 and No. 182. Children's safety and sustainable community development are the two main goals of this research. This study's normative research approach focusses on examining laws and policies pertaining to child labour in Indonesia's oil palm plantation industry. Additionally, more and more palm oil companies are implementing sustainability strategies that address kid protection. Government and non-governmental organisation (NGO) programs emphasise access to education and public awareness of the risks associated with child labour. Violations of this rule can result in fines, business licence revocation, and criminal penalties

Real-Time Chicken Counting System using YOLO for FCR Optimization in Small and Medium Poultry Farms

Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) is a widely recognized technique in the animal farming industry, especially for optimizing feed efficiency and reducing the operational costs. A key aspect of managing FCR involves achieving efficiency in the correlation between the number of animals and the required feed quantity. However, to achieve accurately counting large populations of animals, such as chickens, presents a significant challenge especially in large-scale farming. Computer vision technology offers a promising solution to automate this counting process, helping the FCR management. This research specifically evaluates the capability of the YOLOv11 model for real-time chicken detection. Evaluation of the model's performance indicates high efficacy, achieving accuracy, precision, and recall values of 93%, 94%, and 98%, respectively. The implementation of the technology for precise chicken detection facilitates the accurate adjustment and optimization of feed allocation, which can substantially enhance the overall FCR process

    No full text
The grounding system is a crucial element in lightning protection because it channels current to the ground for the safety of buildings, equipment, and humans. This study evaluated the grounding resistance at the JoMA Boutique Villa & Resort project and assessed its effectiveness based on the SNI 03-7015-2004, IEEE Std 80-2013, and NFPA 780 standards, which stipulate a maximum limit of 5 Ω. Measurements at four electrode points using an earth tester yielded values of 2.41 Ω, 0.23 Ω, 0.11 Ω, and 0.22 Ω. All results were well below the standard, with effectiveness ranging from 207.47% to 4545.45%. Variations in values were influenced by soil conditions, where embankment soil had higher resistance than wet clay soil. Overall, the grounding system at the study site proved to be highly effective and reliable in protecting buildings and electronic equipment, as well as reducing the risk of step and touch voltages that endanger human safety

The Redesign of Proposal Seminar Process Using Business Process Modelling and the Devil’s Quadrangle Framework

The proposal seminar is a key academic milestone, yet many institutions still manage it manually, leading to delays, repeated revisions, fragmented documentation, and high administrative workload. Few studies, however, examine lightweight, low-cost approaches for improving such academic workflows without relying on full automation. This study analyses the proposal-seminar process by translating the existing SOP and administrative guidelines into a BPMN model and evaluating its performance using the Devil’s Quadrangle framework. The as-is model reveals issues across all four dimensions, i.e. long cycle times, high process effort, inconsistent documentation, and limited flexibility. A lightweight to-be process is proposed, emphasizing simplification, standardization, and the use of existing digital tools such as Google Forms, shared folders, and templates. Evaluation results show positive improvements across time, cost, and quality, demonstrating that modest interventions can enhance academic administrative processes. The study also offers practical implications, showing that faculties can implement these enhancements immediately using existing resources without additional budget or IT infrastructure. Future work may include quantitative performance measurement and gradual integration of automation to further strengthen process efficiency

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of DRTA strategy with Instagram media in teaching reading to senior high school students. A quasi-experimental design, non-randomized pre-test post-test was used, involving second-year senior high school students. Grade XI IPS 3 served as the experimental group, while Grade XI IPS 5 served as the control group. Pre-tests were given to both groups before treatment. The experimental group received instruction using DRTA strategy with Instagram media, while the control group was taught using GTM method. The findings of the research showed that statistically the students taught using DRTA strategy showed significant higher achievement than those taught using conventional method (GTM). It can be seen from the differences between the means of the two groups, which are reported in the Estimated Marginal means table as DRTA method is 79.003, which is greater and 73.569 for the students taught using conventional method (GTM). From the practical view, DRTA strategy contributed the improving students’ reading skill especially in Hortatory Exposition text, because DRTA strategy provides clear directions; this encourages the students to read easily and helps students to find or builds the idea before they read the text. From the findings, it is suggested that DRTA strategy with Instagram media should be introduced, practiced and implemented in the English class especially in reading comprehension on Hortatory Exposition text

In the modern era and the super sophisticated era like today, there are still many people who believe and use the so-called witchcraft and the increasing popularity of mass media, both print and electronic, related to it. This is because materialistic culture has distanced some of humanity from religious values and norms. This research uses a descriptive method of analysis, namely by collecting, studying, analyzing and interpreting and explaining data related to Customary Law Problems in the Application of Santet Reviewed from Indonesian Islamic Law, the belief in the existence of supernatural powers in Indonesia is a culture that has existed for a long time from the community.  The belief in supernatural powers has caused many paranormal practices or shamans in people's lives, the results of this study show that in a community dominated by certain beliefs and religions, the members are not only residents of the village unit according to the law, but also traditional indigenous people and religious citizens who adhere to their respective beliefs, then it is clear that in customary law there is no room for magic acts (Santet).&nbsp

The Existence of The Reversal Burden of Proof of Corruption Criminal Acts in Investigations by the Police

Law enforcement against corruption cases has always received special attention from the government, especially with the application of reversal of the burden of proof (omkering van het bewisjlast) as mandated by Article 37 of the Corruption Eradication Law (Law 31/1999 jo Law 20/2001). Investigation of corruption cases is the spearhead of law enforcement in eradicating corruption in Indonesia, but to find out law enforcement at the investigation level by applying reversal of the burden of corruption still needs to be examined more deeply. To find out and understand the implementation of investigations using reversal of the burden of proof, normative legal methods are carried out with field research, namely by using a statutory approach, case approach and concept approach, by examining legal materials obtained through literature review and online, as well as by conducting several interviews with investigators, then analysed using the deduction method and explained using descriptive analysis, to obtain comprehensive study results. From the discussion, an analysis of the existence of the reversal of the burden of proof in the investigation of corruption cases in the police is obtained that the information on the assets owned by the suspect is not all true, after obtaining information from witnesses who have been involved in corruption against the suspect, and only confiscation of property that is the result of corruption is carried out, then proven by the suspect at a court hearing (reversal of the burden of proof / Omkering van het Bewishlasj)
