Digitalization of Outpatient Services Based on Lean Management to Reduce Waiting Time in Government Hospital
Hospital outpatient waiting times in Indonesia do not meet the standards. Lean management reduces waste, while digitalization plays a role in managing service complexity. Implementing lean in parallel with digitalization increases the opportunities for improvements, but empirical research on this is still limited. This study aimed to generate an analytical study of the impact of Lean application in reducing the waste of waiting time for outpatient services at a government hospital. The research design was pre- and post-intervention. The study was conducted in a regional government hospital with 80 people as a sample who was recruited by systematic random sampling. Data collection was carried out through observation and mapping the flow of patient service time from booking to completion of a doctor's consultation using the time stamp. Efforts to reduce waiting time are carried out through a simulation of the Lean-based digitalization model. The variables are the number of Service Steps, Lead Time, Waiting Time, Value-Added Activities, Non-Value-Added Activities and Value-Added Ratio (VAR). The results showed that lean-based service digitalization was able to reduce service steps from 10 to 4 steps, waste waiting from 5 to 2 steps, and Lead Time from 336 to 39 minutes (-88.4%), increasing the VAR from 5.1% to 20.5%. This research is limited to the implementation of lean digitally. It is important to statistically compare the impact of digital and non-digital lean implementation in some hospitals
Application of RAPD Molecular Technique to Study the Genetic Variations of Citrus in South Sulawesi, Indonesia
Indonesia is a tropical country with superior local citrus species and varieties. Citrus fruits were very useful for cultivation, especially to meet the nutritional needs of the wider community. A province in Indonesia, namely South Sulawesi is one of the centers for citrus development. A preliminary study showed various cultivated citrus in South Sulawesi namely Mandarin Orange cultivar Selayar, Mandarin Orange cultivar Batu, JC lime, Pummelo Pangkep, tangerine, Santang Madu, Dekopon, lime, and Kaffir lime. This study aims to evaluate genetic diversity at several citrus plantation centers in South Sulawesi using the RAPD technique. The analysis was carried out using five primers. In this study, RAPD primers could be used to characterize the genetic diversity and similarity of thirteen citrus cultivars in South Sulawesi. One informative RAPD primer based on its PIC value was OPC-09. The results of the genetic similarity analysis are presented in the form of a dendrogram. The first cluster consisted of Mandarin Orange cultivar Selayar (Seeded Selayar, Selayar-Selayar, JC-Selayar), JC lime, Mandarin Orange cultivar Batu, Santang Madu, and Pummelo Pangkep (cultivar Pangkep Merah, Pangkep Putih, Pangkep Golla-golla). The second cluster consisted of Mandarin Orange cultivar Selayar (selayar-selayar, JC-selayar), Santang Madu, tangerine, Mandarin Orange cultivar Batu, Dekopon, lime, and Kaffir lime. The clusters with the most distant genetic relationship are cluster A with cluster B, with a genetic similarity of 62%. Meanwhile, clusters with the closest genetic relationship are clusters I and II, with 79% genetic similarity
Revealing the Construction Project Management System of City Park in Jakarta: Between Hope and Reality
City parks are one of the green open spaces needed by the community for outdoor activities and to improve the quality of life. Currently, residents of Jakarta feel that city parks in Jakarta have not been able to fulfill this function optimally in terms of quality. One reason is the construction project management system which is felt to have not been running as expected. The research aims to reveal the reality that occurs in the management of urban park construction project management in Jakarta, Indonesia, look for weaknesses, and provide recommendations for these weaknesses. This research uses mixed methods. There are qualitative methods with case studies and quantitative descriptive methods. The data instrument uses a questionnaire as a research instrument that assesses the indicators of each variable which is an elaboration of factors from the stages of City-park's construction project management, community involvement, and the quality of city parks. The results showed that the city park's management system was still far from expectations, and weaknesses were found in managing the pre-construction stage and stakeholder involvement, which was not carried out optimally. It causes the construction phase not to be adequately monitored, and the project results are of poor quality. Based on the study results, further research is needed to examine the pre-construction stage and stakeholder involvement more deeply so that quality city parks according to the expectations of Jakarta residents can be achieved
Implementation of Asynchronous Microservices Architecture on Smart Village Application
This paper discusses the implementation of microservices architecture in smart village applications. The smart village application is a village-based online marketplace that facilitates various business actors' buying and selling process in a village. This application manages five types of products: lodging reservations, tourist attraction tickets, culinary purchases, and purchasing knick-knacks show tickets. The complexity of processes, data, and high potential users requires that the system architecture is designed to produce a scalable, fault-tolerant system and easy to develop. Microservices architecture is one of the recommended architectures for building a scalable, fault-tolerant, and maintainable application. This architecture has several variations, ranging from variations in communication between services to the technology used. The suitability of applications with architectural variations and the complexity is a challenge in implementing this architecture. This paper describes how to implement the microservices architecture in smart village applications. Design and implementation of the microservices architecture in the smart village application was followed the WSIM or Web Services Implementation Methodology stage. The implementation results show that the application is easier to manage because it is divided into independent microservices. Implementing asynchronous communication and a choreographic approach to each service makes the client application response faster; besides, it did not affect other services if there is a problematic service
Survival Rates of Oryzias Celebensis Embryo Reared in Different Media in an Attempt to Provide Embryos for Ecotoxicological Studies
Fish embryos from the genus Oryzias have long been used as animal models in ecotoxicological research. Research on the survival rate of Oryzias celebensis embryos in different rearing media has been carried out. In this study, the media used were embryo rearing medium (ERM), bottled water (BW), Pattunuang river water (PRW), and well water (WW). The data obtained is analyzed with a one-way ANOVA statistical test and descriptive analysis in the form of tables and figures. The results of this study indicated that the embryogenesis processes of O. celebensis in all media were faster than the development of O. latipes, which was used as a reference for embryogenesis observations. The yolk volume in each medium decreased in size along with the development of the embryogenesis phases. The results of the one-way ANOVA statistical test showed that the rearing medium was significantly different (P0.05) on the parameters of survival rate of the embryo (SRe) and total larval length. The water quality of the rearing medium was still in a condition that the O. celebensis embryos could tolerate except for the concentration of CaCO3, which could affect the hatching time. This study concludes that embryo rearing medium (ERM) solution is the best medium for rearing O. celebensis embryos for ecotoxicological studies. The hatching time parameter of the O. celebensis embryo has the potential to be used as a biomarker in ecotoxicological studies
The Kumaraswamy Distribution: Statistical Properties and Application
Modeling and analyzing lifetime data is an important aspect of statistical work in various scientific and technological fields such as medicine, engineering, insurance, and finance. The modeling and analysis of lifetimes is an important aspect of statistical work in various scientific and technological fields. In recent years, inverted Kumaraswamy distribution has been used quite effectively to model many lifetime data. The most broadly applied statistical distribution is Kumaraswamy distribution in hydrological problems and many natural phenomena. The Kumaraswamy distribution (KD) is widely applied for modeling data in practical domains, such as medicine, engineering, economics, and physics. The present work proposes the Bayesian estimators of KD parameters through the use of type-II censoring data in this research the problem to estimate the unknown parameters of Kumaraswamy distribution with two parameters θ and λ, these estimates are a maximum likelihood of ordered observation and the Bayesian for the parameter of the Kumaraswamy distribution (KUD) depended on ranked set sampling (RSS) techniques. Both the simulated are inserted into real-life data sets and are considered to make a comparison between the estimation based on Maximum Likelihood estimators and Bayesian Estimation methods based on (RSS) techniques. For comparison purposes, we employed (100) mean square error and the criteria like AICC (Akaike information corrected criterion). Finally, the importance and flexibility of the new model of real data set are proved empirically
The Effect of Freeze Drying and Determination of Heat Transfer on Various Maturity Levels of Robusta Coffee Fruits
The quality of coffee beans is influenced by the level of maturity, which can be determined based on the skin color of the coffee fruit and post-harvest processing. The study was conducted to determine the effect of freeze-drying on various variations in the level of maturity of water content, caffeine, and heat transfer value. The freeze-drying method was chosen because it can maintain the chemical content of the food. Robusta coffee was obtained from Karawang Regency, West Java, Indonesia. Coffee fruit is sorted by skin color using a colorimeter. Fresh beans are obtained by stripping the fruit skin and epidermis and washing mucus. Fresh bean is reduced in size until it passes the 18-mesh sieve. Freeze-drying is operated at an initial temperature of -20 ℃, sublimation temperature of 40 ℃, and operating pressure of 1 to 6 mbar abs. Water content analysis using gravimetric methods, caffeine content analysis using UV-Vis spectrophotometry method, and fat content using the Soxhlet method. The total heat transfer value is determined from the cup to the material. The results showed that the freeze-drying process at semi-ripe to over-ripe maturity levels could reduce the water content to the permissible limit but cannot be used for unripe. The results of the statistical significance test show that the freeze-drying process at various maturity levels can significantly reduce the water content but can maintain the caffeine content in robusta coffee beans. The highest heat transfer value occurs at the un-ripe maturity level of 86.50 kJoule
Tetraprenyltoluquinone Inhibits the Tumor Marker Aldo-Keto Reductase: An in Silico Study
Cancer is one of the most common causes of death in the globe. The development of new cancer medicines and the identification of new therapeutic targets is still a pressing necessity. The protein AKR1B10 was discovered to be a valuable biomarker for the diagnosis and prognosis of some malignancies. Over expression of the AKR1B10 gene is found in lung cancer, oral squamous cell carcinoma, breast cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, pancreatic cancer and liver cancer. AKR1B10 is implicated in detoxification, retinoic acid metabolism, and lipid synthesis, among other pathological actions. AKR1B10 is known to be carcinogenic and can be utilized as a tumor marker, according to research. The tetraprenyltoluquinone compound is an isolate from the bark of kandis (Garcinia cowa, Roxb) which has been reported to have anticancer activity in vivo and in vitro and has the potential to be developed as an anticancer drug derived from natural ingredients. This study aims to determine the activity of the tetraprenyltoluquinone compound in silico with the target of the AKR1B10 protein. The method used is molecular docking using PLANTS (Protein Ligand ANT System) for protein visualization and preparation and Ligplus program for visualizing amino acids. The docking score results showed that the AKR1B10 protein interaction with the test ligand tetraprenyltoluquinone is lower than the native ligand, which means the binding energy of tetraprenyltoluquinone to the AKR1B10 (PDB ID: 1ZUA) protein was higher than the native ligand tolrestat. These results indicate that tetraprenyltoluquinone is a potential inhibitor of the AKR1B10 protein in the pathway of cancer
Effects of Oversampling Smote and Spectral Transformations in the Classification of Mango Cultivars Using Near-Infrared Spectroscopy
Near-Infrared spectroscopy (NIR) is a non-destructive analytical technique that can provide chemical and structural information on samples in a speedy and accurate time. NIR has a wavelength of 750-2500 nm. However, the absorbance bands of the NIR spectrum are often broad, non-specific, and overlapping. NIR spectrum analysis requires a multivariate method which is very subjective to noise arising from instrumentation. There is no standard protocol in modeling for classification and prediction using NIR spectra. Several models have been developed with and without pre-processing techniques. The SMOTE technique can improve the model to predict all class responses accurately. This research contributes to creating a multiclass classification model for grouping mango cultivars by finding the best pre-processing technique and using SMOTE oversampling. The results of the four test scenarios on the model's performance built using the Support Vector Machine (SVM) that the best model is obtained using spectral transformations with LSNV and CLIP operations with 100% accuracy, precision, and recall values. The Decision Tree (DT) has the performance results in 100% model was obtained by using spectral transformation with LSNV, CLIP and SAVGOL operations with parameters {'deriv_order': 0,1, 2, 'filter_win': 11, 13, 'poly_order': 3}. Using SMOTE has better accuracy than without pre-processing, with an accuracy of 92% on SVM and 94% on DT. In comparison, the combination of SMOTE and Spectral Transformation gives classification results for SVM and DT with the same accuracy of 96%, better than using SMOTE only
Exploring the Substitution Effect of Ride-Sourcing in Commuting and Transport Stations Trips: Learning from Evidence in Bandung City, Indonesia
Ample evidence shows that ride-sourcing can substitute the existing transport system (i.e., public transport or private transport). However, the effect of the type of trip (i.e., commuting or transport station trips) on this substitution is still not fully understood. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the substitution effect of ride-sourcing based on the type of trip, i.e., commuting trips as well as trips to transport stations (e.g., the airport, terminal, rail station), conducted by private vehicles and public transport services. The effects of socio-demographics, spatial characteristics, and attitude were integrated into the discriminant model to explore this further. For this purpose, this study collected data from a questionnaire distributed to ride-sourcing users in Bandung in 2020. Discriminant and multivariate analyses are used to investigate the substitution effect of ride-hailing. It is found that the substitution of private transportation occurs for high-income online transport users and longer trips. Moreover, people who previously used public transportation are associated with users who experience increased productivity. Ride-sourcing vehicles, such as online taxis, provide more space for activities. In addition, a lack of access to other transportation tends to be associated with public transport users rather than private vehicle owners. Public transport users can experience increased productivity because the travel time is significantly reduced when ride-sourcing is used. The improvement of public transport, specifically for people who are carrying more belongings and have more intense and widespread activity participation, is then suggested by this study
