    Perancangan Animasi 2D Riksa and the History of Tangkuban Perahu

    Tangkuban Perahu adalah gunung berapi aktif di Jawa Barat, Indonesia, terletak di Jalan Tangkuban Perahu, Lembang, Bandung Barat. Nama "Tangkuban Perahu" berarti "perahu terbalik" dalam bahasa Sunda, merujuk pada bentuk kawahnya yang menyerupai perahu terbalik. Gunung ini memiliki sejarah letusan yang panjang sejak zaman prasejarah, Tangkuban Parahu terbentuk dari aktivitas letusan yang paling muda diantara jajaran gunung Api Sunda Purba dengan tipe letusanstrato, menciptakan topografi unik, kekayaan geologi serta cerita rakyat yang dipercaya masyarakat luas. Pentingnya penelitian geologi gunung ini adalah untuk memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang deformasi sejarah alam dan mengaitkannya dengan legenda Sangkuriang sebagai cerita rakyat setempat. Tujuan dari animasi ini adalah untuk mengungkap sejarah  geologis  Tangkuban  Perahu,  memberikan  wawasan  tentang  evolusi  fisiknya,  dan memahami bagaimana mitos dan cerita tradisional bisa muncul dari interpretasi peristiwa alam. Focusing on the Weibo campaign for the "Ballet Cat" by Great Wall Motors, the research employs a project-based methodology to examine how cultural motifs and celebrity aesthetics can coalesce in effective commercial design. By combining preliminary research, iterative visual development, and audience feedback, the study reveals how culturally informed digital illustrations can foster brand engagement and resonance in an increasingly digital society.     The Recontextualization of Parang Rusak Barong Batik Into Animated Characters

    Recontextualization is a dynamic process aimed at bringing traditional concepts to life in a modern context, making them more accessible and relevant to today's audience. By adapting cultural artifacts into contemporary forms, this approach ensures that valuable traditions remain vibrant and engaging. One such tradition is the Parang Rusak Barong batik from the Yogyakarta Palace (Keraton Yogyakarta), a restricted pattern (batik larangan) that carries deep cultural significance. Batik larangan are batik patterns forbidden for common use. While its beauty is undeniable, the values and meanings it holds risk being lost if confined only to royal circles. To prevent this, the author has chosen to recreation the Parang Rusak Barong motif as animated character, enabling it to reach and resonate with a broader audience, particularly younger generations. This character will play a central role in "Mira and the Batik Fairy 2," an animated series that delves into the theme of restricted batik motifs. The research explores how traditional visual elements of batik can be transformed into animated characters. Using a qualitative method that combines observation and literature review, the study ultimately results in the creation of a character named Wasis, designed to embody the cultural essence of the Parang Rusak Barong batik in a form that appeals to modern viewers

    Perjalanan hidup perempuan yang dramatis menjadi salah satu topik yang menarik untuk di eksplorasi. Dibalik sifat perempuan yang lembut terdapat kekuatan besar yang membuat banyak perempuan mampu bertahan pada kondisi apapun. Kerinduan pada masa-masa yang telah lalu, menghadapi kesedihan dan kegembiraan, serta merangkul harapan masa depan menjadi kompleksitas kisah perempuan. Kehidupan pada masa muda akan selalu menjadi memori pada kehidupan masa dewasa, selalu hidup dan bertumbuh setiap waktu dalam hati dan pikiran perempuan. Kekuatan, cinta, cita-cita, dan harapan perempuan disimbolisasikan dengan “cunduk” atau tusuk konde. Cunduk merupakan perhiasan perempuan Jawa dari masa lalu, pengunci simpul rambut perempuan. Kekuatan bahan dan desainnya kuat menahan simpul rambut supaya tetap rapi tidak tergerai juga menggambarkan kekuatan dan keindahan jiwa perempuan.Dramatisasi dalam film dapat dikisahkan dengan berbagai cara penggambaran. Baik secara verbal ataupun non verbal dan juga dapat digambarkan melalui berbagai unsur dalam komponen gambar (visual). Salah satu unsur gambar dalam film dibentuk melalui penataan cahaya. Konsep “painting with light’ menjelaskan bagaimana visual dalam sebuah film layaknya sebuah gambar yang dilukis menggunakan cahaya. Permainan tata cahaya gelap dan terang akan membawa penonton ke dalam suasana yang dramatis. Kamera yang menjadi wakil mata penonton, pada saat ini menjadi sangat beragam sudut pandangnya (misalnya dekupase, match cut, dll). Teknologi yang semakin berkembang, memungkinkan Penari dan Tarian memiliki daya eksplorasi yang lebih tinggi. Menyajikan visual dalam film, seperti halnya melukis. Kedalaman dan dramatisasi adegan mampu dicapai salah satunya dengan penataan cahaya di dalam maupun di luar studio. Painting with lighting memang telah banyak digunakan dalam film tari di barat, namun belum banyak dilakukan di Indonesia khususnya koreografi dengan unsur gaya Yogyakarta. Dengan permainan cahaya di dalam maupun di luar ruangan, diharapkan secara estetis mampu mendistribusikan dengan baik, tujuan dan pesan dari film tari ini. Dasar gerak film tari “Cunduk” ini adalah tari kontemprer yang mengambil unsur tradisi khususnya gaya yogyakarta.Penggunaan tone gelap dan terang dalam lowkey light menghadirkan kesan kedalaman visual dalam gerak koreografi tarinya. Dengan tone gelap terang, akan memberikan fokus pada penari baik ekspresi maupun gerak tubuhnya.

    With the development of today's technology, it is not uncommon for AI to become a threat to young filmmakers in developing their ideas in the right way, and AI is only becoming an aid and not the main tool to achieve independent filmmaking.  This study aims to observe how budget and technical constraints in independent film production drive innovation in narrative and filmmaking styles. This research takes the subject of a 2024 production film with the title "Angkara Murka" by filmmaker Eden Junjung. The main focus of this study is to observe how independent films are produced with limited resources and rely on the creativity of their creators to produce high-quality works that can compete with the production of commercial films and be presented in cinema media.  In the process, this research uses a qualitative approach to analyze a case study of an independent film titled "Angkara Murka" which successfully uses the technique of film .In the process, this research uses a qualitative approach to analyze a case study of an independent film titled "Angkara Wrake" which successfully uses simple film techniques and strong narratives to create a visual experience that is acceptable in terms of message and story meaning by the audience. In indie film production, it is not uncommon for filmmakers to find that budget constraints often lead to the use of innovative techniques to create authentic cinematic effects, such as the use of natural light, locations with no rental fees, and low-cost cameras. In addition, these limitations also encourage the development of a more focused and intense narrative, with deeper characters and a more focused storyline.   The study shows that despite the great challenges associated with small costs, cost constraints can motivate independent filmmakers to find creative solutions that produce good visual style and original narratives.     2D Animation Film About Flag Ripping Incident at Yamato Hotel Using Parallax Technique. The flag-tearing incident at the Yamato Hotel in 1945 was one of the most important heroic stories in Indonesia’s history, particularly for the city of Surabaya. However, the rapid flow of globalization has caused historical stories like this to become less known and less appreciated by the younger generation. To address this challenge, a 2D animated film was created as a visual communication medium aimed at increasing young people's interest in national history. A modern anime visual style was used to appeal to younger audiences, and the parallax technique was implemented in the animation production to create the illusion of depth and an artistic, dynamic perspective. Parallax is a technique that separates visual elements into several layers, which are moved at different speeds to simulate depth. This technique was applied during the production phase and proposed as a visual solution to make historical narratives feel more alive and engaging.     Film “Everything Everywhere All At Once” (2022) merupakan film tentang seorang Ibu Rumah Tangga, Evelyn, yang dibawa ke semesta lain ketika ia dihadapkan dengan berbagai masalah pekerjaan dan keluarganya. Film “Everything Everywhere All At Once” (2022) merupakan film yang bertemakan keluarga, yang dikemas dengan kompleksitas perpidahan lokasi atau semesta. Film “Everything Everywhere All At Once” (2022) memiliki transisi match cut yang menarik untuk diangkat. Film “Everything Everywhere All At Once” (2022) juga berhasil mendapatkan 7 dari 11 nominasi penghargaan, salah satunya adalah Best Film Editing dari Academy Awards. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui penggunaan match cut dalam membangun tahap peneritaan dalam film “Everythung Everywhere All At Once” (2022). Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan teori match cut oleh Gael Chandler dan teori struktur 5 babak oleh John Yorke. Dari analisis yang telah dilakukan, disimpulkan bahwa match cut memiliki peran dalam membangun cerita.     This article reveals the sides of photography  by local photographers. The method used is to analyze the work of Erison J Kamari and the appreciation of the audience for his photographs. The method used in this research is qualitative. The result of this research is how to promote and introduce the local potentials of West Sumatran culture by Erison through his visual records. The actions of this photographer from Kurai provide realization in professional art creation management. Capturing moments that cannot be separated from patience, basic understanding of photography techniques, selection of ideas, writing captions and being able to help promote the tourism sector. Erison's gait was able to invite young photographers to care about the culture of West Sumatra, one of which was through the Jawi race. The implication of this research is that it has a positive impact on the tourism sector and the economy.Keywords: Erison J.     Mental health, is a health issue that is no less important than physical health, but unfortunately public awareness of mental health issues is still very lacking. The lack of public awareness of mental health disorders is influenced by several factors, where one of the most influential factors is the low level of public knowledge about mental health, so that there is an error in the public's perspective on the survivors of mental health disorders themselves. This of course can lead to mistreatment of survivors of mental health disorders, potentially stigmatizing treatments. Based on these data, this study aims to use the right learning media to change the public's perspective on mental health disorders in order to reduce the existing stigmatization. The method used is the design thinking method which is a method of developing a product that begins with efforts to answer problems that exist in society. The results of this study a learning media in the form of video motion graphics with cartoon visual style and a way of delivering information with an emotional and rational approach has its own charm for the audience

    Female Perspectives sebagai Representasi Karya Foto Mahasiswa Perempuan

    ABSTRACT In 2024, the Photography Study Program at Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif will be 14 years old. This study program has produced hundreds of skilled photographer alumni who work in the creative industry. Every year, students hold a number of exhibitions to actualize their works. One of them is an exhibition of photos by female students called the Women's Exhibition. This article aims to explain how a photobook becomes a medium of representation of female student photography. The references used are several previous studies with the same focus on discussion. The method used is qualitative descriptive, with a photo curation technique from the results of the Women's Exhibition. Various interpretations on women are embodied in dozens of photo works which are then compiled into a photobook entitled Female Perspectives, which has six categories, namely (1) female beauty perspectives, (2) female food perspectives, (3) female profession perspectives, (4) female traveling perspectives, (5) female sport and healthy perspectives, and (6) female lifestyle perspectives. With the publication of this photobook, female students can represent their opinions on today's women in the form of a photobook, so that they can get their artistic value and economic value.Keywords: women's perspectives, photobook, representation, student work ABSTRAKTahun 2024, Prodi Fotografi di Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif genap berusia 14 tahun. Referensi yang digunakan adalah beberapa penelitian terdahulu dengan fokus pembahasan yang sama.
