Analysis of the Effectiveness of the Roles of Writers and Public Figures as Reading Ambassadors: A Comparative Study in Encouraging the Improvement of Community Literacy
This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the roles of writers and public figures as reading ambassadors in promoting literacy culture and increasing reading interest in the community. The formulation of this research focuses on the comparison of strategies used by writers and public figures in spreading literacy messages, as well as the impact of both roles on society. The method used in this research is a comparative study with a qualitative approach, which involves collecting and analyzing data from various written sources, including books, articles and related reports. The results show that authors, through their profound and inspiring literary works, are able to create a captivating reading experience and build a strong emotional connection with readers. On the other hand, public figures utilize their popularity and extensive networks on social media to spread literacy messages in a more direct and interactive way, reaching a larger audience in a short period of time. Despite the differences in approaches and strategies used, collaboration between writers and public figures has been shown to strengthen literacy promotion efforts. This study concludes that the synergy between these two roles can create a significant impact in improving the reading culture in society. By utilizing their respective strengths, writers and public figures can jointly encourage higher reading interest and provide sustainable benefits for the social and intellectual development of the community.
The Preservation and Adaptation of Betang Culture in Central Borneo in the Era of Globalization
The purpose of the research was to examine the Dayak community in Central Kalimantan, aiming to explore the impact of globalization on the traditional values of Betang that reflect their social, legal, and economic structures. The methodology employed an ethnographic approach, utilizing participatory observation and in-depth interviews with customary leaders, youth, and local officials. The findings indicated that the Betang serves not only as a communal house but also embodies a complex social system characterized by values of togetherness, honesty, and egalitarianism. The Dayak community practiced the principles of hapahari (brotherhood) and handep (mutual cooperation) as central to their social interactions and conflict resolution, while also upholding customary laws. Furthermore, the cooperative-based system facilitated equitable resource management. In conclusion, despite influences from modernization, the values associated with Betang remained fundamental to the lives of the Dayak people, showcasing their ability to balance cultural preservation with adaptation to change. The research underscores the importance of preserving traditional values in rapid social change, highlighting that such preservation is essential for maintaining cultural identity, especially in the evolving era of globalization
Implementation of Independent Curriculum for Rural Schools from a Constructivism Perspective
This study examines the independent curriculum for rural schools through a constructivist perspective. This study uses qualitative techniques with literature evaluation (Library Research). The purpose of this study is to investigate the implementation of the independent curriculum in rural schools through a constructivist perspective. The independent curriculum allows schools to develop contextual and relevant learning for the needs of their students, especially in rural areas with unique problems. The constructivist approach to learning emphasizes students' active relationship with their environment, allowing them to construct knowledge from real-world experiences. This study uses qualitative methodology with a case study approach in rural schools. The results of the study indicate that although the adoption of the independent curriculum in rural schools has limitations such as limited resources and access to technology, it has great promise to produce relevant and meaningful learning through a constructivist approach. This study concludes that the independent curriculum can be maximized in rural schools by adapting it to local conditions and improving teacher competency in implementing a constructivist learning approach
Socialization of the Program Activities of the Centre for Information and Counseling of High School Adolescents of the City of Palangka Raya
Today's youth problems are quite complex with the presence of information technology, where all interactions shift from the real world to the virtual world. One of the problems that teenagers face is the presence of deviant behavior such as student fights, drugs, bullying, free sex cases and more. This article aims to find out how the PIK-R program is in school and how preventive measures are taken. This research uses a qualitative approach, with the primary source being high school students who are actively participating in the PIK-R program in the school. The results of this research show that the program is developed in the form of seminars, workshops, training with the approach of peer tutors or inviting experts/mentors experts in the field of adolescents and children
Radat Ya Allah Ya Tuhan Kami Dance Revitalization in the Tempatan Village
The background of this research is the loss of the art of the Radat Ya Allah Ya Tuhan Kami dance in the Tempatan village. This study aims to revive the Radat Ya Allah Ya Tuhan Kami Dance so that it can be widely recognized by the public and can be preserved again. This study uses descriptive methods, qualitative research forms and choreographic approaches. The data in this study are the results of interviews, observation results and documentation results. The data sources in this study were informants who knew about the Radat Ya Allah Ya Tuhan Kami Dance. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, interviews and documentation. The data collection tool in this study was the researcher as the first instrument, observation guidelines and interview guidelines. The data validation technique used is source triangulation and observation extension. Data analysis techniques in this study are analysis during data collection and analysis after data collection. The results of this study are to describe the process and results of the revitalization of the Radat Ya Allah Ya Tuhan Kami Dance, namely meeting with speakers, conducting dance training for new dancers and musicians, dissecting the form of dance performances, and re-performing the Radat Ya Allah Ya Tuhan Kami Dance in full using music. accompaniment, make-up and fashion
Study on Evaluation Models of Hidden Curriculum: Illuminative, Case Study and Responsive
The purpose of this research is to explore and evaluate the influence of the hidden curriculum on character development among students in a formal educational setting. The background of this study stems from the observation that many essential aspects of education are not covered in the formal curriculum, necessitating further attention in evaluation. The urgency of this research lies in the need to understand the dynamics of the hidden curriculum, which can impact students’ behavior, attitudes, and values, thereby contributing to their character development. The research method used is a qualitative approach with an illuminative evaluation model, involving three stages: curriculum document investigation, classroom observation, and interviews with teachers and students. Collected data were analyzed to identify emerging patterns and themes related to the hidden curriculum. The findings indicate that the hidden curriculum has a significant impact, both positive and negative, on students’ learning experiences. The study reveals that the interaction between the intended and learned curriculum creates space for the internalization of certain behaviors and attitudes that either support or hinder educational goals.The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of awareness of the hidden curriculum in curriculum development and teaching practices. By understanding and evaluating the hidden curriculum, educators can design more holistic and effective learning experiences that focus not only on academic achievement but also on students’ character formation. This research can serve as a reference for curriculum developers and educators in creating a better learning environment
Aesthetics of the Saur Matua Ceremony in Surabaya
This study aims to describe the aesthetic form of art in the Saur Matua ceremony in Surabaya, which is an important part of the Batak cultural tradition. The background of this research focuses on the importance of understanding how elements of art, such as music, dance, and cultural symbols, contribute to creating aesthetic value and spiritual meaning in urban contexts. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach, which involves collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation to gain a deep understanding of the ritual practice. The results of the study show that the aesthetics in the Saur Matua ceremony reflect the harmony between Batak culture and the urban environment of Surabaya, and serve as a representation of the last respect that is full of spiritual meaning. Elements such as dance, traditional music, and ritual decorations not only create an atmosphere that favors reflection and reverence, but also communicate profound social and religious values. The aesthetics in the Saur Matua ceremony are not only related to visual beauty, but also include emotional and spiritual experiences that bring participants closer to their cultural values. This research makes an important contribution to understanding the role of art and aesthetics in death rituals, as well as how traditions can adapt in modern contexts
Potential Political Conflict in the 2024 Presidential Election (Conflict Theory Study)
This research discusses the potential for political conflict in the 2024 presidential election from the perspective of conflict theory. The conflict perspective used is according to the views of Karl Marx and Ralf Dahrendorf. The approach used in this research is qualitative research with a literature study method which discusses potential conflicts that will occur. Conflicts that will occur, quoted from Kompas (Firda Cynthia Anggrainy, 2023). one pair of presidential candidates who they consider to be unconstitutional. The results of this research show that there is potential for political conflict in the 2024 presidential election. There is potential for political conflict in the 2024 presidential election. According to Karl Max, conflict occurs based on the class gap factor. In this political phenomenon, classes are divided into two, the ruling class and the ordinary people. According to Ralf Dahrendorf, conflict occurs based on differences in interests of groups with interests. In the potential political conflict in the 2024 presidential election, it will be very easy for conflicts of interest to arise based on each presidential candidate and vice presidential candidate. Conflict is seen as the result of social inequality and differences in interests between individuals or groups. Such conflicts can play an important role in changing political agendas, resolving social problems, and creating long-term changes in society. However, conflict can also threaten social stability and worsen social integration
The influence of learning motivation and learning activities on the Sociology learning outcomes of 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Mempawah Hulu
This research aims to clarify the influence of learning motivation and learning activities on the Sociology learning outcomes of 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Mempawah Hulu. The study will be conducted at SMA Negeri 1 in the Mempawah Hulu District. SMA Negeri 1 Mempawah Hulu is a high school located in the Mempawah Hulu District. The research adopts a quantitative approach with a survey method. Based on relevant research findings, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between motivation, learning activities, and learning outcomes. Instilling motivation and learning activities in students is crucial for them to develop their potential optimally. Student activity in the teaching and learning process is undoubtedly crucial to creating a lively classroom atmosphere and ensuring effective material absorption. To enhance student engagement and activity in the classroom, teachers need to plan appropriate teaching and learning activities to achieve learning objectives. One way to boost student learning motivation is by creating activity-based learning experiences
Analysis of Mental Disorders of Aggression in Students (Case Study of Class X IPS 4 at Mujahidin Private High School Pontianak)
Aggressive behavior among adolescents, especially high school students, has become a significant issue today. This article presents an analysis of deviant aggressive behavior among students in class XI IPS 4 at SMA Swasta Mujahidin Pontianak, covering the forms of behavior, causes, impacts, and efforts to address aggressive behavior among students. The aim of this article is to provide a factual overview using a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews and documentation with students at SMA Swasta Mujahidin Pontianak. The interview results indicate that aggressive behavior at SMA Swasta Mujahidin Pontianak can take the form of fighting, mocking friends, bullying, or taking friends' belongings. The causes of aggressive behavior are diverse, including family influence, unpleasant conditions created by parents, a toxic peer environment, and frequent exposure to aggressive scenes. The impact of aggressive behavior can affect emotional development and academic performance. To address aggressive behavior, the school has undertaken various efforts by providing counseling services through the school counselor and implementing policies such as sanctions for the perpetrators. Aggressive behavior must be eradicated in the school environment as it is harmful and detrimental to others
