PENAMPILAN PRODUKSI AYAM RAS PETELUR MB 402 YANG DIBERI RANSUM MENGANDUNG MINYAK LIMBAH IKAN CAKALANG (Katsuwonus pelamis L)
PRODUCTION PERFORMANCE OF LAYING HENS MB 402 FED RATION COINTAINING OIL OF  CAKALANG FISH WASTE (Skipjack Tuna). This study was conducted to determine the production performance of laying hens (MB 402) fed ration containing fish oil waste. The materials used in this study were 100 laying hens at the age of 36 weeks. The treatments used were: 100% basal feed (R0), basal feed 99 % with 1% FOW (R1), basal feed 98% with 2% FOW (R2), basal feed 97% with 3% FOW (R3), basal feed 96% with 4% FOW (R4). Variables observed were including feed consumption (g/bird), Hen Day Production (%), feed conversion. Method used was the completely randomized design (CRD) continued by Duncan’s test for the significant analysis of variance. Treatments were replicated 5 times consist of 4 laying hens per replication. Results showed that the use of fish oil waste had no significant effect (P < 0.05) on feed consumption, Hen Day Production and feed conversion. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that use of fish oil waste in the diet as much as 4 % could be recommended in ration to give the sama production performance of laying hens (MB 402). PENERAPAN IPTEKS BAGI KELOMPOK TANI TERNAK SAPI-KELAPA DI DESA SAWANGAN
THE APPLICATION OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR BEEF-CATTLE AND COCONUT FARMER GROUPS IN SAWANGAN VILLAGE. Agriculture and livestock development are beneficial and mutually depending each other, so that integrated farming systems provide great benefits for both aspect. But there are some problem for this: Two beef-cattle farmer groups “Habel I†and “Habel II†at Sawangan Village, District Airmadidi, North Minahasa regency do not have any understanding and knowledge about proper cattle-farming development. Based on this, it has made ​​the empowerment of members of the group through the application of science and technology with counseling and training methods. Principally, beef cattle business success is determined by three interrelated elements, e.g. seeds, feed and management. Beef-cattle farmer groups “Habel I†and “Habel II†integrates cattle-farming with coconut plantations simultaneously. Utilization of field under coconut trees to forage also serves as a cover crop. Members of the farmer group responded well to the application of science and technology activities through counseling and training , it can be seen from the availability of dwarf elephant grass in coconut plantations covering an area of 0.5 Ha . Other products produced in the form of silage and compost as well as the implementation of an assisted insemination ( 5 cows) . The application of science and technology through IbM activities can be resumed if there’s any assistance from the universities.  Keywords: Cattle, coconut, science technology, farmer group
PENGAMATAN POTENSI REPRODUKSI KAMBING BETINA YANG DI PELIHARA SECARA TRADISIONAL DI DAERAH PESISIR KECAMATAN TOMBARIRI KABUPATEN MINAHASA
ABSTRACT OBSERVATION OF DOE REPRODUCTIVE POTENTIAL RAISED TRADITIONALLY AROUND COASTAL AREAS OF TOMBARIRI DISTRICT MINAHASA REGENCY. Doe has reproductive potential that can be measure based on goatling healthy kids, kidding interval, kidding size and kidding type. Tombariri district is one of potencial areas in Minahasa Regency to develop goat farming. Goat farming development needs many information including reproductive potential of doe. In fact, the scientific information about this subject has not been available yet. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the reproductive potential based on kidding interval, kidding size and kidding type of doe that were raised traditionally in District of Tombariri, Minahasa Regency. Samples of this research was took using purposive random sampling method. Data were collected by interview using quetionnaires to 40 farmers with total ownerships of 100 doe. Parameters of this study were kidding interval, kidding size and kidding type. The results shown that doe in Tombariri district had 243 days average of kidding interval. Kidding size range was 1.84-2.018 goatling per doe per year. Percentage of twin kids were above 80 percens per year. Based on those results, it can be concluded that the doe which were farmed traditionally around coastal area of Tombariri district, Minahasa Regency had the good reproductive potential. PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN MOLASES TERHADAP KUALITAS FISIK DAN KIMIA SILASE KULIT PISANG SEPATU (Mussa paradisiaca formatypica)
EFFECT OF MOLASSES ADDITION ON PHYSICO-CHEMICAL QUALITY OF BANANA PEEL (mussa paradisiaca formatypica) SILAGE. Molasses had been used previously in animal feeds. The present study was conducted to determine physical and chemical composition as affected by the addition of molasses in ensiling process of banana peels. The study was conducted for four weeks at Department of Animal and feed Science Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, University of Sam Ratulangi, Manado. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) arranged by 4x3 factorial with three replications was employed for analysis of varians. The two factors consisted of : A factors (level of molasses addition) were: A0=0%; A1=2%; A2=4%; and A3=6%; and B factors (incubation time) were : B1 = 14 days ; B2 = 21 days; and B3 = 28 days. Tukey’s test was used to analysis treatment differents. Variables measured were : smell, texture, color protein(%) and gross energy (Kcal/kg). The result show that the addition of molasses in ensiling process of banana peels was positively (P<0.05) interacted with incubation times, and affected on smell, crude protein, and gross energy contents, but not affected towards texture and color (P>0.05) of banana peels silage. The addition of molasses up to 6% with incubation time of 28 days gave an intermediate texture and brown color and these could be a good indication of a good or success ensiling process. The addition of molasses up to 6% with an incubation time of 21 days produced banana peels silage with protein content of 6,77% and addition of molasses up to 4% with incubation time 28 days gave gross energy of 4.390 kcal/kg. It can be concluded that addition of molasses up to 6% with incubation time 21 days produced good quality (physically and Chemically) of banana peels silage. ANALISIS MARGIN PEMASARAN AYAM BROILER DI PASAR TRADISIONAL KOTA MANADO
MARGIN ANALYSIS OF BROILER MARKETING AT TRADITIONAL MARKETS IN MANADO CITY (Case Study at Calaca Bersehati and Pinasungkulan Karombasan Markets) This research was conducted at the traditional markets in Manado particularly at the Bersehati Calaca and Pinasungkulan Karombasan markets. The problem of this research was that how was the chains of broiler marketing channels, how much was margin profit of broiler marketing and level of broiler marketing efficiency at the traditional markets of Calaca Bersehati and Pinasungkulan Karombasan. The purposes of this study were (1) To determine the chain of broiler marketing channels at traditional markets in Manado, (2) marketing margins and profit, (3) To determine the level of marketing efficiency at each marketing channel of broiler chicken at the traditional market in Manado. Sources of data in this study were divided in the primary data and secondary data. The samples were taken by purposive sampling. Models of data analysis in this research were using descriptive analysis approach and mathematical analysis. The result showed that the average - average purchase price of broiler chickens on traders is IDR. 19,500 per kilogram with the average - the average selling price of IDR 27,000 per kilogram and the average - average total marketing cost is Rp. 3903. While the average - average purchase price of broiler chickens on retailers is IDR. 26 182 per kilogram with the average - the average selling price of Rp 29,364 per kilogram and the average - average total marketing cost is IDR. 1789.Conclusion that the markets at Calaca Bersehati and Pinasungkulan Karombasan had two marketing channels as follows (1), Farmers to traders, traders to retailers, and retailers to consumers. (2), Farmers to traders, traders to consumers. Total margin and gains different on each channel, the first channel of IDR 9.864 and on line two the margin obtained at IDR 7,500, while the benefits of the channel I is IDR. 4172 and the second channel a profit of IDR 3597. Broiler chicken marketing channels already take place efficiently because the level of efficiency in both marketing channels are located between 0-33 percents which amounted the first line was 19.39 percents and a second channel was 14.45 percents  Keywords: Marketing Channel, Margin, Profit, Marketing Efficiency, Broiler
PERBANDINGAN NILAI BIOLOGIS PAKAN LOKAL DAN IMPOR PADA ANAK KUDA PACU INDONESIA
ABSTRACT COMPARISON OF BIOLOGICAL VALUE OF LOCAL AND IMPORT FEED IN INDONESIAN CHILD RACE HORSE. This research aims to determine the livestock child race horse's ability to digest feed, both local and imported feed. Digestibility of nutrients is a factor that determines the quality of feed ingredients or feed consumed by the livestock horses. This research used Statistics t-test method.Techniques of data retrieval are interviews and direct observations at sites of breeding racehorses. Data collected ie the type of local feed (corn, rice bran, fish meal, soybean, mung beans, coconut cake) and the types of imported feed (sustaina). The amount of feed (forage and concentrates) were given to livestock of child racehorse obtain the amount of feces (g / head / day) is then taken as many as 12 samples each of 8 racehorses using local feed and 4 racehorses use imported feed. The variables measured are digestibility of energy and protein digestibility. The results of the research are digestible energy (local feed ± 85.92 and imported feed ± 87.58) and protein digestibility (local feed ± 75.86 and imported feed 86.89 ±). T test, showed that the energy digestibility of feed imports give effect not significantly different (P> 0.05) compared to local feed while the digestibility of protein feed imports significantly different (P <0.01) in comparison with the local feed. PENGARUH PENGGANTIAN TEPUNG IKAN DENGAN TEPUNG MAGGOT (Hermetia Illucens) DALAM RANSUM AYAM PEDAGING TERHADAP KECERNAAN KALSIUM DAN FOSFOR
EFFECT OF SUBSTITUTION OF FISH MEAL WITH MAGGOT (Hermetia Illucens) MEAL ON CALCIUM (Ca) AND PHOSPHORUS (P) DIGESTIBILITY OF BROILER CHICKEN. As an animal feed, maggot from black soldier fly (Hermetia Illucens) has high calcium (Ca)  and phosphorus (P) content. Yet, little is known about the digestibility of calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) in the diet containing maggot. The present study was designed to determine the effect of substitution of fish meal with maggot (Hermetia illucens) meal in the diets on (Ca) and phosphorus (P) digestibility of broiler chicken. Twenty day old chicks (DOC) CP 707 broiler chicken of about 1300-1500 g body weight were assigned to each dietary treatment which was replicated four times in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) arrangment. The experimental diet consisted of 5 treatments and 4 replications, formulated as follow: R0 = 100% fish meal + 0% maggot meal; R1 = 75% fish meal + 25% maggot meal; R2 = 50% fish meal + 50% maggot meal; R3 = 25% fish meal + 75% maggot meal; and R4 = 0% fish meal + 100% maggot meal. Calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) digestibility were calculated using total collection method. Parameters measured were calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) digestibility. Differences were considered significant at P < 0.05. Tukey test (HSD) was employed to further analyze among treatment diferences. The results showed that calcium (Ca) digestibility was significantly (P < 0,05) increased as the level of maggot (Hermetia Illucens) meal in the diets increased; whereas the digestibility of phosphorus (P) was not significantly (P > 0,05) affected by the treatments. It can be concluded utilization of maggot (Hermetia illucens) meal up to 100% replaced fish meal or  15% in the diet, inreased calcium (Ca) digestibility and did not affect phosphorus (P) digestibility of broiler chicken.  Key words: Fish meal, Maggot (Hermetia Illucens) meal, Calcium and Phosphours digestibilit
ANALISIS PRODUKSI LIMBAH TANAMAN PANGAN SEBAGAI PAKAN TERNAK SAPI DI KABUPATEN BOLAANG MONGONDOW UTARA
PRODUCTION Â ANALYSIS Â OF FOODÂ CROP WASTE PRODUCT AS CATTLE FEED IN NORTH BOLAANGMONGONDOW REGENCY. Cattle can be used as the main economical source giving added value in farm of the farmers to support their family needs in North Bolaang Mongondow regency. Farmers utilized food crop waste product for cattle feed maintenance. The problem was that the food crop waste product potential was unknown to support cattle development in the farm of the farmers. The objective of this study was to analyze food crop waste product potential. Materials in this study were involving food crop area, type of food crop waste product, and cattle. Research method was applied by survey method involving primer and secondary data. Data were analyzed by proximate analysis conducted by Research Institution and Industrial Standardization, Manado and descriptive analysis. Agricultural waste product was local feedstuff as crude fiber source that can be used for cattle feed. The potential feedstuff was calculated on the basis of feedstuff production multiplied by crop cultivation area size and expressed in dry matter (DM). The highest potential of DM was the wet rice paddy straw, followed by dry rice paddy straw, corn straw, sweet potato leaves, cassava leaves, green bean straw, and peanut straw. This study concluded that dry matter productions of wet rice paddy straw, corn straw and peanut straw were highly produced in Sanggkub district. Dry matter productions of dry rice paddy straw, cassava leaves, and sweet potato leaves were highly produced in East Bolaang Itang district, while dry matter production of green bean straw was highly produced in West Bolaang Itang district. Based on this research it can be suggested to introduce the technology related to the preservation of food crop waste product in North Bolaang Mongondow regency. PERFORMANS BURUNG PUYUH (Coturnix – coturnix japonica) YANG DIBERIKAN TEPUNG KEONG SAWAH (Pila ampullacea) SEBAGAI PENGGANTI TEPUNG IKAN DALAM RANSUM
PERFORMANS OF QUAIL (Coturnix – coturnix japonica) PROVIDED CONCH PADDY (Pila ampullacea) FLOUR AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR FISH FLOUR IN THE RATION. This research aims to determine the extent to which the use of conch paddy (Pila ampullacea) flour as a substitute for fish flour in the ration on the performances of Quail (Coturnix- Coturnix japonica). This research used 60 quail 5-week-old female and for data collection was performed 8 weeks. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 4 treatments and 5 replications. Such treatment is the conch paddy flour with some level of giving in the ration, which is : R0 = 0% conch paddy flour + 15% fish flour, R1 = 5% conch paddy flour + 10% fish flour, R2 = 10% conch paddy flour + 5% fish flour, and R3 = 15% conch paddy flour + 0% fish flour. Variables measured in order to see the response of quail to the conch paddy flour is feed consumption, egg production and feed conversion. Results of analysis of variance showed that the treatment was not significantly different on feed consumption, egg production and feed conversion. Based on the results of this research indicate conch paddy flour up to the level of 15% can be used as a substitute for fish flour in the ration of quail. PENGGANTIAN SEBAGIAN PAKAN DENGAN TEPUNG LIMBAH SAWI PUTIH (Brassica pekinensia L) TERHADAP PERFORMANS BROILER
THE EFFECT OF PARTLY SUBSTITUTION OF DIET WITH WHITE CHINESE CABBAGE (Brasscia pekinensia L) WASTE PRODUCT ON BIOLOGICAL PERFORMANCE OF BROILER CHICKEN The present study was conducted to characterize the effect of white Chinese cabbage (Brasscia pekinensia L) waste product as an alternative feed source for broiler chicken. The experiment was conducted at Faculty of Animal Husbandry’s experimetal station for 21 days using 60 MB-202 broiler chicken. The experiment was started at 21 days of age and terminated at 42 days of age. Birds were allocated to 20 experimental battery cage, 3 birds in each cage. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications was employed to analyze experimental data. Treatment diets were formulated as follow: R0 = 100% basal diet and 0% white Chinese cabbage waste product; R1 = 95% basal diet and 5% white Chinese cabbage waste product; R2 = 90% basal diet and 10% white Chinese cabbage waste product; R3 = 85% basal diet and 15% white Chinese cabbage waste product; and R4 = 80% basal diet and 20% white Chinese cabbage waste product. Parameters measured were: 1) daily feed consumption; 2) daily gain; and 3) feed conversion ratio (FCR). The results of the study during which feed consumption (138,09-141,57g), weight gain (64,95-68,53g), and feed conversion (2,07-2,12). The results showed that partly substitution (up to 20%) of basal diet with white Chinese cabbage waste product gave non significant (P > 0.05) effect on feed consumption, daily gain, and feed conversion ratio (FCR) of broiler chicken. It can be concluded that white Chinese cabbage waste product can be used up to 20% feed gives good results on broiler performance.
