PENAMPILAN REPRODUKSI KUDA BETINA PASCA PACU DI DESA PINABETENGAN RAYA KECAMATAN TOMPASO BARAT KABUPATEN MINAHASA
ABSTRACT Â REPRODUCTION PERFORMANCE OF FORMER RACING FEMALE HORSE AT PINABETENGAN VILLAGE WEST TOMPASO DISTRICT OF MINAHASA REGENCY. Horse was the special animal to gain more money compare with any other animals. Breeding management related to reproduction of racing female horse must be taken intensively to produce a standard racing Indonesian horse called Indonesian racing horse (Kuda Pacu Indonesia, KPI). This study was conducted to evaluate reproduction performance of former racing female horse including first mating age, period time of estrus cycle, service per conception, foaling interval at Pinabetengan village, west Tompaso district of Minahasa regency. This village was a core area of farmer maintaining more racing horse in Minahasa regency. This study was done using purposive sampling method and focused on 103 former racing female horses as case study observation in obtaining primer data. The interview was also conducted to the owners of racing horse. Results showed that the averages of first mating age was 5.72 years, period time of estrus cycle was 21.67 days, service per conception was 1.65, and foaling interval was 11.98 months. Therefore, it can be concluded that former racing female horses at Pinabetengan village were included at good category of reproduction performance. BOBOT POTONG PANJANG KARKAS BOBOT KARKAS DAN PERSENTASE KARKAS BABI GROWER DENGAN PEMBERIAN GULA AREN (Arenga pinnata Merr) DALAM AIR MINUM
SLAUGHTER WEIGHT CARCASS LENGTH CARCASS WEIGHT AND CARCASS PERCENTAGE OF GROWER PIG WITH THE PROVISION OF PALM SUGAR (Arenga pinnata Merr) IN DRINKING WATER. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of palm sugar (Arenga pinnata Merr) in drinking water in pigs grower until the finisher to the slaughter weights, carcass weight, carcass length and carcass percentage. Sixteen grower pigs used with the variables measured were slaughter weight, carcass weight, carcass length and the percentage of carcasses. The research method is a randomized block design consisting from 4 weight group and 4 treatment of palm sugar levels in drinking water each treatment and drinking water R0 = 0% palm sugar solution, R1 = Drinking water solution palm sugar 2%, R2 = drinking water solution of 4% palm sugar, R3 = Water drinking palm sugar solution 6%. Statistical analysis showed that the level of 2% giving significant effect on the slaughter weight (P0.05). The LSD shows that palm sugar use in drinking water pigs has significantly different to slaughter weight. The conclusion is the giving palm sugar in water 2% ie 140 grams can increasing slaughter weight (97.67 kg), although have no significant effect on carcass length, carcass weight and carcass percentage.

ANALISIS BREAK EVEN POINT TERNAK SAPI POTONG KELOMPOK TANI “SUMBER HIDUP SEJATI†DI KECAMATAN BINTAUNA KABUPATEN BOLAANG MONGONDOW UTARA
ANALYSIS OF BREAK EVEN POINT ON CATTLE FARMING BY FARMER GROUP "SUMBER HIDUP SEJATI" IN THE SUB DISTRICT OF BINTAUNA BOLAANG MONGONDOW NORTH. Cattle, in Bolaang Mongondow North is one of the sources of income of the community. The problem, unknown feasibility of cattle, by the groups "Sumber Hidup Sejati" as the owner. The purpose of research that has been done is to analyze Break Even Point (BEP) of the cattle business, the farmer group " Sumber Hidup Sejati". This research has been conducted using the case study method. Primary data was obtained directly from the respondent, through interviews using a questionnaire. Secondary data were obtained from the agency, which is associated with this research. Total variable cost of Rp 86.444 million, fixed costs USD 6.28 million, with income from sales of cattle Rp 105,000,000. The results showed the number as many as 14 heads of cattle, with a profit of Rp. 14.276 million. The results of the analysis of Break Even Point (BEP) for the revenue of cattle obtained value 34,888,889. That is the business of cattle on farmers' groups "Sumber Hidup Sejati" reached break even, on the condition of the revenues received Rp. 34,888,889, Based on the analysis BEP volume values obtained BEP 4.74. That is the business of cattle on farmers' groups "Sumber Hidup Sejati" no profit no loss suffered if livestock raising cattle that are as much as five head. PENGGUNAAN TEPUNG LIMBAH LABU KUNING/WALUH (Cucurbita moschata) DALAM PAKAN AYAM PETELUR TERHADAP BERAT TELUR, TEBAL KERABANG, DAN EGG MASS
EGG WEIGHT, EGGSHELL THICKNESS AND EGG MASS OF CAGED LAYING HENS GIVEN RATION THAT COMPOSED OF BY SITE PRODUCT OF PUMPKIN FLOUR (Cucurbita moschata) The aim of this research was to find out the effect of using by site product of pumpkin flour (cucurbita moschata) in feed of laying hens on egg weight, eggshell thickness and egg mass. One hundred of laying hens, 42 weeks old were used in this research, and this research was conducted. Randomized completely design was used, 5 treatments and 5 repetitions. The treatments were: R0 = 100% basal feed, without using by site product of pumpkin flour (BSPPF); R1 = 98% basal feed + 2% BSPPF; R2 = 96% + 4% BSPPF; R3 = 94% + 6% BSPPF; R4 = 92% + 8% BSPPF. The result of analysis shown that, there were no any significant differences on egg weight, eggshell thickness and egg mass within the group of laying hens that given feed composed of 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% of by site product of pumpkin flour and given 100% basal feed respectively. The conclusions of this research was pumpkin flour waste up to the level of 8% in the feed of laying hens give the same result on egg weight, egg shell thickness and egg mass.  Keywords: by site product of pumpkin, egg, laying hens

BACKFAT THICKNESS AND LOIN EYE AREA GROWER PIG USING PALM SUGAR (Arenga pinnata Merr) INTO DRINKING WATER. The research was conducted to determine the effect of the use of palm sugar in drinking water of pigs grower to the backfat thickness, and loin eye area. This study using 16 pigs. The research variables are drinking water consumption, backfat thickness and loin eye area.The research method is a randomized block design consisting of 4 weight group and 4 treatment of palm sugar levels in drinking water are 0, 2, 4 and 6%, followed by the use of LSD. Analysis of variance showed that the treatment is very significant effect on water consumption (P <0.01). Further test results BNT to the amount of consumption of drinking water shows that the R0 (0%) significantly different from R1 (2%), R2 (4%), R3 (6%) and R1(2%) was not significantly different from the use of palm sugar R2 (4%) and R3(8,91 L). Likewise, the treatment effect on loin eye area (P <0.05) with an average of 43.72 cm2, but had no effect on backfat thickness (P> 0.05) with the average of 2.79 cm even which in the first class category of carcass (<3.56 cm). The LSD shows that R0 (36,44 cm2) significantly different from the R1(47,17 cm2), R2 (44,33 cm2) and R3 (46,99 cm2) to the loin eye area while not significantly different from R1 (47,14 cm2) to R2 (44,33 cm2) and R3 (46,99 cm2). Based on the results of the study indicate that the use of palm sugar to 2% can increase the amount of water consumption is 7.78 liters/day and loin eye area is 43.72 cm2 but not for backfat thickness. EFFECT OF INCOME ON BEEF CONSUMPTION IN KOTABUNAN VILLAGE EAST BOLAANG MONGONDOW REGENCY. Consumption of beef by society tends to increase in line with their income. The problem is whether people's income changes affect beef consumption. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of income on beef consumption. Research has been conducted in the village of Kotabunan, District of Kotabunan East Bolaang Mongondow Regency.The data collection was conducted using a survey method. The data used are primary and secondary data. Determination of the sample villages have been done by purposive sampling, the village which has the largest population, and in the coastal area. Sample was selected by simple random sampling. The number of respondents as many as 44 households..Simple regression analysis was used to meet the goal of this study. Based on the results showed total incomes of respondents Rp. 143,070,000 with an average of Rp. 3,251,590.9/household /month. Total beef consumption 63.5 Kg / month, with an average expenditure of respondents to consume beef Rp. 134,886.36 or 4.9% of family income. Consumption of animal protein from livestock as much as 6 grams / capita / day, equivalent to 10.3 kg of meat / capita / year, 6.5 kg of eggs / capita / year, and 7.2 kg milk / capita / year is still not achieved. Based on the results of this study concluded that incomes significantly affect the consumption of beef in the village Kotabunan, District Kotabunan, East Bolaang Mongondow Regency. KUALITAS KARKAS AYAM PEDAGING YANG DIBERI RANSUM MENGANDUNG LIMBAH SAWI
ABSTRACT CARCASS QUALITY OF BROILERS FED RATION CONTAINING WASTE OF SAWI. Study was conducted to evaluate the effect of substituting part of ration with sawi waste meal on carcass quality and abdominal fat of broilers. Total of sixty unsexed day old chick broilers of MB-202 P strain were randomly divided into twenty units of pens, each of pen was filled with three heads of chicks. Birds were maintained during forty days. Levels of substituting part of ration with sawi waste meal were 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20 percents. Each treatment had four replications using completely randomized design with 5 x 4. Fresh water and ration were given ad libitum. Birds from day old chick to the age of twenty one days old were fed with BR-21E ration for all treatments. The treatments of ration were fed at ages of twenty two days old to the end of study (period when all animals were slaughtered). Data were analyzed using F test and Tukey test for the significant F test. Results showed that control treatments were significantly different (P<0.05) with those others four treatments for carcass weight, but not significantly different with those others four treatments for carcass percentages and abdominal fat. Therefore, sawi waste meal can be used to substitute part of ration up to 20 percents for broilers ration in term of the carcass percentages and abdominal fat.  Key words: Sawi waste meal, broilers, carcass quality
TINGKAH LAKU BERTELUR BURUNG MALEO (Macrocephalon maleo) DI MUARA PUSIAN KAWASAN TAMAN NASIONAL BOGANI NANI WARTABONE KECAMATAN DUMOGA TIMUR KABUPATEN BOLAANG MONGONDOW
EGG LAYING BEHAVIOR OF MALEO BIRD (Macrocephalon maleo) AT MUARA PUSIAN NATURAL CONSER-VATION IN BOGANI NANI WARTA-BONE NATIONAL PARK, EAST DUMO-GA DISTRICT OF BOLAANG MONGON-DOW REGENCY Bogani Nani Wartabone National Park was conservation living area of the all flora and fauna species including maleo bird (Macrocephalon maleo) as the endemic bird in Sulawesi Island. Objective of this research was to study behavioral laying egg of maleo bird, temperature and hole deep of laying egg, total visitation of maleo bird at laying egg hole places and predator threat around laying egg hole places. Research was conducted by direct observation at the maleo habitat of laying egg holes place. Data obtained were analyzed descriptively to describe the facts and phenomena occurring at the bird habitat. Results showed that bird activities before laying egg at holes included digging the laying egg hole, laying egg in the hole, heaping up egg hole, digging false egg holes. Bird activities after laying egg at holes included pause and look for feed around holes and then they flied to the forest area. The average times of laying egg were 1 to 3 hours, started from looking for area of hole, digging holes, playing around egg holes area to the end of laying egg in the hole. The averages of egg holes deep were 41.8 ± 14.28 cm and egg holes temperatures were 270 C - 340 C. Maleo birds were laying their eggs more around Tower I compared with around Tower II. Around Tower I had dense vegetation of trees used as shelter, protection place from predators, clean area from scrubs for easy digging holes of laying egg. Around Tower II, there were growing scrubs (Saccharum spontaneum) and coarse grass (Imperata cylindrical) causing unsecure and difficult digging holes by maleo birds in laying their eggs. The total visitations of maleo birds around egg holes areas were visibly observed of 28 pairs and 1 male without spouse and 9 pairs found by auditory observation. Therefore, there were 37 pairs consisted of 37 females and 38 males of maleo birds observed. The total eggs obtained during observation were 42 eggs, consisted of 2 damaged eggs and 40 hatching eggs using the artificial hatchery at study location. ANALISIS KARAKTERISTIK SOSIAL EKONOMI PENYULUH DENGAN PELAKSANAAN PENYULUHAN DI KABUPATEN MINAHASA
ANALYSIS OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF EDUCATOR WITH EXTENSION IN THE DISTRICT MINAHASA. Extension workers has a strategic role in improving the welfare of farmers / ranchers. One of the factors that influence the success of the extension duties is the state socio-economic background or socio-economic characteristics of each extension. However, the extent of the relationship between socioeconomic characteristics with the implementation of the extension in Minahasa unknown. Based on these problems, the purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of these characteristics with the execution of tasks with good extension. This study uses survey data collection on respondents extension and analyzed descriptively. The collected data are presented in tables cross between variables (education and experience) were observed and analyzed by looking at the distribution Trends. The results showed that the factor of higher education Bachelor (S1) tend to be better than not on the Bachelor in execution of duty. On the other hand experience of long-serving and who have served a long time showed relatively recent trend duty (< 20 years) is better than the longtime (> 20 years). As a conclusion that the social and economic characteristics based on the educational background related to the implementation of the tasks. PENGARUH PEMANFAATAN PUPUK BOKASI FESES SAPI TERHADAP PRODUKSI SORGUM VARIETAS KAWALI
EFFECT OF THE USE OF COW FECES BOKASHI FERTILIZER TO SORGHUM VARIETY KAWALI PRODUCTION. Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.Moench), is one type of grass that can be a source of forage potential to be developed in Indonesia because sorghum has the advantage of a drought resistant than other types of cereal crops, able to adapt to a wide area, sorghum used as food and animal feed alternatives. Seen from the content of nutrients, sorghum is higher than rice and maize especially of protein. This research aims to identify and obtain data about the effect of cow feces organic fertilizer that using EM4 for sorghum production. This research was implemented in Wusa village at districts Talawaan. The design used was completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 4 treatments and 5 replications to obtain 20 units of trial. The treatment consists of P0= without fertilization, P1= 4 kg of fertilization, P2= 8 kg of fertilization, P3= 12 kg of fertilization, the measured variables are panicle weight, panicle length and the weight   of   seeds.   Result of the analysis showed that treatment with 12 kg/plot provides highly significant effect (P <0.01) of the panicle length, panicle weight and the weight of seeds compared with other treatments, ie 8 and 4 kg/plot. Based on the results of research concluded that giving bokashi with a dose of 12 kg/plot improve crop production as measured through panicle length, panicle weight and the weight of seeds.Keywords: Fertilizer, sorghum, cow feces, EM4, Productio
